- 0:24Meditation of the hour. First of all,
- 0:46let us find the proper posture, trying
- 0:50to ensure there is not too much tension
- 0:52in the body. Let us briefly review the
- 1:01face, the neck, the shoulders, the arms
- 1:11, the back, the hips. And if we find
- 1:19any small tension, we simply loosen, we
- 1:23let go, we try to make any unnecessary
- 1:29effort or tension disappear. Next, let
- 2:04us mentally place ourselves in the room
- 2:08where we are. We imagine the walls, the
- 2:14place, and ourselves in that room. Let
- 2:42us try to breathe regularly, without
- 2:48forcing or changing our breathing,
- 2:53simply relaxed and calm. And now we
- 3:31bring our attention to the present
- 3:34moment. It is as if we closed the door
- 3:40of our consciousness to all information
- 3:42that does not come from the present. We
- 3:47can imagine there is a gatekeeper of
- 3:49consciousness who lets some in and
- 3:52leaves others outside. Well then, we
- 3:56give him instructions and tell him to
- 3:59let in only the guests of the present
- 4:03moment and to not let those who come
- 4:08from the past or the future enter. The
- 4:40past simply does not exist; we cannot
- 4:43change it anymore. And the future does
- 4:48not exist either, and furthermore, it
- 4:50is totally unknown to us. We remain
- 4:58fully centered in the present, and
- 5:02therefore, any event, any small
- 5:05stimulus that comes from the present,
- 5:09we welcome it and let it enter our
- 5:13consciousness. They can be external
- 5:19sounds, small sounds from the street,
- 5:22from an adjacent room, from the floor
- 5:25above, they can be body sensations, the
- 5:34posture, something that bothers us, the
- 5:40rhythm of the heart, the breathing.
- 6:15Anything that happens in this moment is
- 6:17welcome into our consciousness, and
- 6:20everything that does not belong to the
- 6:23present we discard and do not let in.
- 6:46We savor the passage of time, instant
- 6:48by instant, moment by moment, second by
- 6:52second. No. Let us savor then that
- 7:26passage of time, that sensation of
- 7:33presence in this moment, of existing,
- 7:36of being, of perceiving in the present
- 7:42moment. And we will realize that by
- 8:15having left out all those ruminations
- 8:18about the past, all those plans about
- 8:21the future, by having left out so many
- 8:24things, we feel a peace. Now, by being
- 9:12only with what is actually happening,
- 9:16we realize the tranquility that exists.
- 9:20Too The present is simple. It can be
- 10:37rich in stimuli, but it is simple and
- 10:39in it there is no fear nor hope either.
- 10:47We simply savor what happens, what is
- 10:50passing, what occurs in each instant.
- 12:32Accentuate that sensation of the
- 12:34present, of the instant we live, of
- 12:37this moment. There is no other, really.
- 13:19And now, when the gong sounds, we will
- 13:22end the meditation. Little by little,
- 13:26without haste, we return to external
- 13:31reality, we open our eyes and make
- 13:37contact again with the outside world
- 13:41and with normal activity.
