2:12because A, she started out as a dancer, B,
2:15she failed at being a dancer, and C, she's always
2:19take your clothes off.
2:20I just had a structural engineer come to check out my roof
2:24to put this up.

2:26I just want to be one of the first studios in Pittsburgh
2:28to bring this to the students so that they're multifaceted,
2:31because this is the next step.
2:33More and more often you see silks, and hammocks,
2:37and lires in all the award shows, and videos,
2:40and every cirque show.
2:41So when I see silks, I get excited.
2:44I think the more training a dancer has,
2:46the more opportunities will become available.
2:48I'm having silks installed in my dance studio.
2:51I love the space up here, I think I'll definitely be back.
2:55It might not be to teach other children though.
2:58Maybe I'll just come back to learn some moves.

3:01Seeing all these dance studios in Los Angeles
3:05really has me thinking about making the big move.

3:31After losing to Abby, this is going to be
3:33a really intense week for me.
3:35I have a whole new team, I have a whole new everything.
3:38I had a horrendous week.
3:41We lost to the Abby Lee Dance Company,
3:44and quite frankly, I don't enjoy the feeling
3:47that I get when I lose.
3:48[music playing]
3:49(SINGING) Hey boy, [inaudible].
3:55In second place, entry number 75, Be Strong.
3:59[cheering and applause]
4:03CATHY: I'm more determined now to take the country by storm.
4:07You know, Candy Apple Town or nothing.
4:09Having Cathy invite me here and bring me here long time.
4:12I think it took her for a while to trust me
4:14and to get to know who I am.
4:16This lady has a lot of wisdom, she picks up
4:18where I left in certain areas sometimes,
4:20and I think that's why we have a great mold together.
4:24I want to work with Cathy, because I like a challenge,
4:27and Cathy gives me a good challenge.
4:29Me and Cathy are rebuilding this team
4:30so we can be true contenders and competitors to the Abby Lee
4:35Dance Company and my perspective.
4:37Boys, you've come back, because you've danced with me
4:39for a couple of weeks.
4:40Girls, you're new, hand picked.
4:44So I've definitely decided to keep my three boys--
4:47I've got Zack, Nick, and Jalen.
4:50But I've also invited three new girls.
4:52Hadley, you've got star quality, and I'm
4:55so happy to have you here.
4:57And you, I'm so happy to have you here.
5:00Love your dress, by the way.
5:01Thank you.
5:02When Cathy called to invite Hadley to her team,
5:05I was thrilled.
5:06I think Cathy and I definitely have the same goal--
5:10we both want to beat Abby Lee Miller.
5:11[music playing]
5:12(SINGING) Don't turn off your light tonight.
5:15[cheering and applause]
5:16YVETTE: Abby tried to break Hadley.
5:17ANNOUNCER 1: Abby, I'm reading your facial expression,
5:19and you don't seem that happy.
5:22Should I say roadkill?
5:23[gasping]
5:25She wants nothing more than to go against Abby
5:28and show her how much she has improved.
5:31I think you're so positive, and I love Anthony.
5:35I think this is the best fit.

5:42CATHY: Campbell, you have an amazing presence on stage.
5:46[music playing]
5:47Campbell as a dancer has always been a winner,
5:49and people just fall in love with her for her.
5:51Not only her on stage, but also her off stage.
5:54I want Campbell to be a part of Candy Apples,
5:55because Cathy is looking for her ultimate dream team,
5:58and she wants to win.
6:00[music playing]
6:01Mary, you have amazing extensions,
6:06and that's why you were invited.
6:08Mary is a title winner, she has a mother
6:12who's a dance teacher.
6:13I want Mary to have the best possible opportunities
6:15in the industry, and I feel that Cathy
6:17is a leader in the industry.
6:19And if anybody is going to get my little girl known
6:22and can get doors open for her, it's Cathy.
6:25This is a big opportunity for all of you.
6:28I don't know who's going to have a solo this week,
6:32I don't know who is going to have some highlighting done
6:37in the group dance, I don't know any of that until Anthony
6:41and I start to look at what you can do.
6:44So not only am I going to be looking for a good, solid team
6:49to take this nation by storm--
6:52not to mention Abby who's as big as the nation--
6:57somebody may go home.
7:01It's not a contest.
7:03For me, that is.
7:05It could be a contest for all of you.
7:08But I need to know that you guys are going to defend me come
7:12hell or high water.
7:13Oops, come H-E double hockey sticks or water.
7:17Usually, I like to work with uneven numbers.
7:21You can always pull out that strong dancer
7:24and highlight them, and then you're
7:26symmetric on either side with your remaining dancers.
7:30So we definitely need to cut the team down.
7:33I'm more serious and more determined now than ever.
7:37You've got to let me know that this right now is what you want
7:41so bad, you can taste it, and it is sweet like a candy apple.
7:46I'm all about fun and games, but I'm not Abby.
7:50We will win, and we will be the best.

8:13about experiencing boyfriend, girlfriend, first hand hold,
8:18first kiss, first finding out that you're
8:21attracted to someone and have kind of deep feelings for them.
8:28From there, just roll over.
8:30And this is where I want to see each of you individually.
8:33How humiliating would it be for your little girl or boy
8:36to be the only one to be eliminated.
8:38This is so nerve wracking that we've come this far.
8:41I put everything on hold back at home--
8:42my businesses, my family.
8:45I'm here for Mary.
8:46I hope Mary's not the one going home.
8:48Can I ask you a question?

8:50He's a hip hop dancer, he spins on his head.
8:52You know, he does a lot more than spin on his head.
8:53My daughter-- does pirouettes, right?

8:58You could take somebody off the street
8:59and teach them how to do hip hop street dance.
9:02That's like me saying you can take any kid off the street
9:05and teach them how to spin.

9:07GINA D: Jalen is obviously very talented,
9:10but present time right now, Mary would be the more versatile
9:14dancer.
9:16If anybody is going to be cut from this team,
9:17it should be Jalen. [music playing]
9:18So you can take any kid off the street
9:20and teach them how to do ballet then, right?
9:22No, you can't.
9:23But you can take any kid off the street
9:25and teach what my son does?

9:27So there's no training in break dancing.

10:04ABBY LEE MILLER: I've decided that it's time for the Abby Lee
10:06Dance Company to expand, so I'm going to check out some studio
10:08spaces in the Los Angeles area.
10:10I always wanted to be a Cali girl,
10:13and Lord knows I don't want to die in Pittsburgh.
10:16This is our main dance floor, you can come in here
10:17if you like. - Ooh.
10:18[music playing]
10:19We get a lot of kids in here, especially during the summer.

10:22I wanna check out the mirrors here.
10:24I love how they go all the way to the floor.

10:27I'm a big perfectionist when it comes to feet.
10:30Other than New York, Los Angeles is the best market for dance.
10:33I want to move to someplace sunnier,
10:36nicer, a little more fun.
10:38There's plenty of child stars come to Los Angeles to make it.

11:43hanging over our heads when we enter the studios.

11:50They love her there.

11:52When I visit LA, I am obese.
11:55And you said they love Abby there?
11:57Believe it or not, there's a lot of personalities like Abby
11:59in LA.

12:07and just open up something totally different--
12:09Because she wants that to be successful, and this
12:13will be gone.

12:21Cathy will enter herself in the open solo category
12:25and dance her own dance if it means competing against us.

12:31and it's still crawling around.

12:35Well, I think Cathy's team is in shambles.

13:07I got so many ideas going on, and I'm
13:09thinking what I do want to talk about is experiencing
13:13our first kiss.

14:44for this premier dance team.
14:46OK, I have to have perfection, I have
14:49to have amazing choreography that I'm on board with.
14:52I'm doing a mental head count-- where is Mary?
14:55I am still assessing this team.
14:58We've only been together a day or so.
15:01The fact that Mary is not here and she's absent
15:06really kind of proves to me what her commitment is to this team.

16:17I've met Black Patsy before, and she's a lovely lady to me.
16:21I know that her daughter is a good dancer.

16:29and I was wondering if your daughter was
16:32interested in coming over to Candy Apples
16:36to try and do a competition this week for me.
16:44I want to see what they can add to my team.
16:47I think that not only will Nicaya step up and show me
16:50that she's a strong dancer, but I also think that Black Patsy
16:53is going to come to bat for me.

17:04ABBY LEE MILLER: Oh hey.

17:11So I'm in my dressing room getting into the makeup
17:13and hair, it's a big long process,
17:15and who walks in to surprise me but John.
17:18Word on the street, she's been doing competitions,
17:21and you know that.
17:22She can do whatever she wants, just stay the hell away
17:24from me.
17:25But you still have to strategize.
17:27What if you went and had some of the moms
17:29go watch a competition, just to kind of check it out just
17:33to see I mean, that's smart, I mean
17:35any business would do that.
17:36You have to remember, you're a business.
17:38Well, Joe would be the only one, because she really
17:41despises Cathy.
17:43I found out that the Wicked Witch of the West,
17:47that evil dance teacher that shouldn't even
17:49be allowed to open, yes.
17:51She is attending another competition with her new team.
17:55And he thinks that some of my mom's should go spy.
17:59So why not find out what she's up to?

19:24Zack has a solo this week which is phenomenal,
19:26I am really excited about it.
19:28I have every confidence that he will not disappoint.
19:34My second solo is going to go to Hadley.

19:43I'm ecstatic.
19:44Anthony is an incredible choreographer,
19:47he's an incredible instructor, he's
19:49very passionate about dance.
19:51My ultimate goal for this is to take our own dream team
19:54and beat Abby.
19:56I feel bad for Nick.
19:58I do, he works so hard, this kid.
20:02I think that Nick has proved to Cathy all these times
20:06that we've been here.
20:07He's so versatile with all styles of dance.
20:10And the other parents, they need to pay their dues before they
20:13get some solos and some specialty parts.
20:16Nick should be Cathy's leading man.
20:20ANTHONY BURRELL: So Had, you got two days.
20:22We got to go hard.
20:24So the music I got for you is called "The Golden Couch."
20:28It's about being a woman, being glamorized, and being really
20:33elegant. - OK.

20:40I'm really excited that Cathy gave me a solo, because now I
20:44get to show her all of my skills that I can do.
20:47And I want to show her that I'm going to stay on this team.

20:59Hadley is an amazing dancer.
21:01I think that she warrants a solo.
21:04She has this effervescent glow about her.

21:10YVETTE: Hadley can learn a lot from Anthony,
21:11and the best quality that Anthony has
21:14is that he has the quality to pull so much from kids
21:18versus Abby Lee Miller--
21:20she doesn't care about anything but winning.
21:22And if it's even taking a kid down, it doesn't matter to her.
21:26And I know firsthand about Abby Lee Miller taking kids down.
21:31And sit down.
21:34Abby, this performance is not roadkill.
21:38ANTHONY BURRELL: Come on, Zack.
21:40The title of the solo is "Puppet," so it's going
21:43to be a lot of fun for you.
21:44The costume for this dance is going to be incredible.
21:48That costume is going to transform Zack from a boy
21:51to a puppet.
21:52It's just something to make you heavy, we just got to find ways
21:55to make you heavy, yeah?
21:56Zack is definitely in his element
21:58when he does contemporary.
21:59I just think that with Zack's ability
22:02to get a story-line across, that this could really
22:05be a brilliant moment for Zack.

22:10I don't know if we have more at stake.
22:12It's always that same everlasting goal
22:16that we want to beat Abby.
