1. 0:00Uh, when Casey Anthony goes on trial in
2. 0:02her civil case, she doesn't want the
3. 0:04jury to hear word about her high-profile
4. 0:07murder trial. Sounds almost impossible.
5. 0:09Remember, Zida Gonzalez is suing Anthony
6. 0:11for defamation because Anthony said that
7. 0:13someone by the same name kidnapped her
8. 0:16daughter, Kaye. Let's go straight to in
9. 0:17session correspondent Jean Casaris.
10. 0:19Jean, um, what are the chances that
11. 0:23she's going to win that motion? Well,
12. 0:25you know, when you have testimony in
13. 0:27court, it can be used in various forms.
14. 0:29one being a civil case, but the defense
15. 0:31is saying, "Look, the criminal case in
16. 0:34its testimony is not relevant to this
17. 0:36case. What the only thing that's
18. 0:38relevant is a jailhouse visit she had
19. 0:41with her mother." And she said, "You
20. 0:42know, mother, that photograph of that
21. 0:44woman down in CM, I didn't even see it."
22. 0:48That's what the defense says. Well,
23. 0:49Zeneda Gonzalez is going to cite far
24. 0:52different viewpoints because remember
25. 0:55Casey Anthony went to the Sawrass
26. 0:57Apartments. Yes. And you remember Zeneda
27. 0:59Gonzalez goose chase. Yeah. And do you
28. 1:01remember Zeneda Gonzalez also had looked
29. 1:04at an apartment there? How did she get
30. 1:07the name Zenida Gonzalez? And and
31. 1:10furthermore, Zenida Gonzalez truly
32. 1:13existed. And she told everybody that
33. 1:16that was who had kidnapped her child.
34. 1:18And so Zeneda says, "You know what? I
35. 1:20not only lost my job, but I went to
36. 1:23McDonald's. I went to every single
37. 1:26establishment to try to get a job. Um
38. 1:27the minute I they heard my name, they
39. 1:29sent me out the door. So the jury is
40. 1:31going to need some context for why this
41. 1:32lawsuit is being brought in the first
42. 1:34place. Right. But but the defense but
43. 1:36Casey Anony's defense is saying, you
44. 1:38know, Zeneda, you've got 89 names down
45. 1:41on that witness list. Every single
46. 1:42witness in the criminal trial, and
47. 1:45that's not relevant. You're trying to
48. 1:46make this another criminal trial to gain
49. 1:48publicity for yourself. And we're not
50. 1:50going to let it happen. How do you find
51. 1:53someone who hasn't heard of this trial
52. 1:55anyway? You're not You're not gonna find
53. 1:57it. But you know what? Casey Anthony is
54. 2:00not gonna settle. This case is going to
55. 2:02go to trial because Kathy Anthony, not
56. 2:04that she has any money, but she's not
57. 2:07going to give money to this woman who
58. 2:09she thinks is just trying to get
59. 2:10publicity out of saying you defamed me
60. 2:13and you caused me emotional distress
61. 2:15because you said I kidnapped your baby.
62. 2:17Any more interesting motions that she's
63. 2:19filed so far? You know, they filed a lot
64. 2:20of motions. They want to dismiss the
65. 2:22whole thing first of all. Uh, and there
66. 2:24has been a partial summary judgement.
67. 2:25So, the the issue is going to be very
68. 2:27tailored. And Casey Anthony has been
69. 2:30subpoenaed to court. Trial is set to
70. 2:32begin January 2nd. Uh, Cheney Mason got
71. 2:35that subpoena. She'll be there and she's
72. 2:38going to fight
