0:2016 2008 it's about the 13 20 hours we're
0:22at universal studios i'm here with the
0:25surgeon allen
0:26i'm here with uh
0:28detective happy wells i'm also here with
0:31casey anthony and uh casey we talked
0:33earlier this morning and uh we're
0:34working a case looking for your daughter
0:35kaylee is that correct yes okay uh we
0:37came here to universal studios we're
0:39sitting in a little conference room
0:41you know obviously the door isn't locked
0:42we just closed it so we have a little
0:44bit of privacy and talk to you and a
0:46couple more questions came up
0:47and we need to ask you about
0:49uh remember
0:51how i opened this whole thing in the
0:52morning yeah by saying that you know we
0:54need to get the complete truth and and
0:55the snowball effect and how it goes okay
0:59we're about halfway down that hill three
1:01quarters down the hill that's pretty big
1:02snowball which means that there's a lot
1:04of stuff going on right now and i can
1:06tell you
1:07just for certainty that everything
1:09you've told me so far has been a lie i
1:11can tell you with a certainty and let me
1:13explain why since i left you this
1:15morning i've gone to every address that
1:16you've told me i booked up every name i
1:18thought to every person that you you
1:20wanted me to talk to i tried to i've
1:22reached out i talked to your ex
1:23boyfriend talked to amy
1:24i talked to tony
1:26i came over here i've already talked to
1:28all the employees
1:29i found out all these names that you're
1:30giving me are people that either never
1:32worked here or have been fired here for
1:33a long time ago okay
1:35so
1:36where we are right now is in a position
1:38that doesn't look very good for you and
1:40this is going to be your escape patch so
1:41to speak this is going to be the point
1:43where you stop all the lies and you stop
1:45all the fibs and you tell us exactly
1:46what's going on
1:48i'm just being you know being straight
1:50with you because obviously i know and
1:52you know that everything you told me is
1:54a lie correct
1:55not everything that i told you okay uh
1:58pretty much everything that you've told
1:59me including where kaylee is right now
2:01that i still i don't know where she is
2:03sure you do and here's absolutely listen

2:08a combined experience in this room we
2:10all have about 30 years of doing this
2:11okay both myself and sergeant john allen
2:14worked for the homicide division for
2:15several years we've dealt with several
2:17people we've we've conducted thousands
2:19of interviews between the three of us
2:21you know happy's got 20 years so just
2:23between the three of us we've got
2:24several years and i can tell you for a
2:26certainty that right now looking at you
2:28i know that everything that you've told
2:29me is a lie including the fact that you
2:32know
2:33your travel was not seen about a month
2:34ago
2:35and that you don't know where she is see
2:37i i i am very confident just by having
2:39talked to you this short period of time
2:40that you know where she is i don't you
2:43you do and here's the thing we need to
2:44get past that because we can sit here
2:46and go back and forth all day long about
2:48i don't i do i don't i do
2:50it's pretty obvious that with everything
2:52that you've told us
2:53nothing has been true
2:55you know where she is now my question to
2:57you is
2:58is this
2:59we need to find haley i understand that
3:02right now
3:03katie may not be
3:04in very good shape
3:06you understand what i'm saying she may
3:08not be
3:09the way we thought or what your family
3:11last remembers her we need to find out
3:14from you
3:15where kaylee is
3:16this this this right now is just this is
3:18going so far downhill and this has
3:20become such a mess that we need to end

3:23it's very simple we just need to end it
3:24i agree with you i have no clue where
3:26she is
3:27i knew
3:28in any sense where she was this wouldn't
3:31have happened at all
3:33whatsoever this the stuff about about
3:35zany the the
3:36caretaker or the nanny taking care of it
3:39it's not the truth because it went to
3:41the apartment complex there's no person
3:42that ever lived there by that name the
3:43apartment's been vacant since march the
3:45same apartment now the apartment that
3:47you pointed out to me the two-story
3:48apartment that's an old folks home it's
3:50right across the street from your
3:51ex-boyfriend's house who you never
3:53mentioned and you said you wrote the
3:54address down because it was across the
3:55street that's a lot because i've already
3:57talked to him and we've already been by
3:59the house and we've already you know
4:00looked at everything we need to look at
4:01over there everything you felt is a lie
4:04well now there's a couple of ways that
4:05this goes right now
4:07we can
4:08you know we i've never met you before so
4:10i can look at you in one couple of ways
4:12i can look at you as a person who's
4:14scared
4:14who's concerned
4:16and who's kind of afraid of what's going
4:18to happen because of something bad that
4:19happened before
4:20or we can look at you as cold
4:23callous and a monster who doesn't care
4:26who's just trying to get away with
4:27something that that something bad that
4:28happened and trying to cover it up
4:30it's going to be one of those two
4:31options
4:32now
4:34as for much of what i've already talked
4:35to you okay you seem like a very bright
4:37young lady you don't seem like someone
4:39who has no education all right now what
4:42we have to do is we have to determine
4:43which way is this going to go are you
4:45are you a person who who's scared about
4:47the consequences of what happened or are
4:49you scared about something that happened
4:51or are you are you really this cold
4:53callous person who doesn't care about
4:54what happened is it one of these two
4:56options
4:57i'm scared that i don't know where my
4:59daughter is
5:00so i would not have put my entire face
5:03i want to ask you something yes sir
5:06like you said you you you seem like a
5:08pretty bright person okay you're here
5:10willingly right you're here because you
5:12want you're here to try to help right oh
5:14absolutely your whole reason for talking
5:16to us is is to try to help right
5:19nobody's forced you to talk to us right
5:21you once you want to you're here because
5:24you called you want us to find your
5:25daughter right
5:26now let me let me ask you something
5:29i want you to put yourself in
5:32push yourself in somebody else
5:34put something mushy from that okay
5:37since
5:37you talked to him this morning in an
5:39attempt
5:40to try to help find your daughter
5:43you've given him bad addresses okay
5:46you drove me all the way out here
5:49we walked from the gate back here
5:51on the way to your office right

5:55to to an office that you don't have we
5:57got all the way into the building
5:59into the hallway out here before you
6:01finally says well i really don't have an
6:02office here but then we were walking to
6:04your office right
6:06okay so is it i mean does any of this
6:07make sense to you
6:09i understand how well that sounds no no
6:11no no here's the problem with that
6:13though here's the problem that okay
6:16you can carry the weight of this around
6:18for a long time it's not going to get
6:19any easier okay
6:21what he's trying to tell you right now
6:22i'm going to tell you
6:24you know in in the amount of time that
6:25i've done this
6:27almost 30 years now okay
6:29i've learned this people make mistakes
6:31everybody makes mistakes we every all
6:34the three of us have all made some
6:36mistake mistakes in our lives we've done
6:38some things we're not proud of okay
6:40but then there comes a point in time you
6:42either own up to it you say you're sorry
6:44you try to get past it or you lie about
6:46it you bury it you lie about it you bury
6:48it you lie about you bury it and it just
6:50never ever ever ever ever goes away
6:54okay
6:56that's it okay now you know
6:58you know i want you to stop and think
7:01about what's going on here okay
7:04at this point
7:06we can explain that you're afraid you
7:10know that you were ashamed of maybe
7:12something bad that happened you're
7:13afraid maybe what happened but now that
7:15we're giving you this opportunity and
7:16you continue to lie and you continue to
7:18lie then what happens at some point it
7:20becomes
7:21there's no excuse there's no reason
7:23there's no reasonable a reasonable
7:25person to look at us and go
7:27wow this is a person who really just
7:29doesn't care
7:31okay
7:32i mean i mean i mean think about what
7:33we've done so far okay you say you call
7:36us because you want our help he wants to
7:39find your daughter okay
7:40i'm calling you and i'm asking you for
7:42help i'm asking you to help me find my
7:44child that's been gone now for a month
7:46okay
7:47and to help you help me find the child
7:49what i've done to this point as i've
7:51given you a bunch of bad addresses to go
7:53look at addresses and people that don't
7:55exist okay then i take you to a place
7:57where i tell you that i work okay
7:59and i walk you past the security gate
8:01okay all the way to my office that i
8:04don't have
8:05okay
8:06you start getting a picture
8:08or just is this do you understand where
8:10we're headed here i understand okay now
8:13you know
8:15you're by hiding this by burying this
8:18okay you are not going to get yourself
8:20to a better place okay
8:22what you're going to do is you're going
8:23to cause everybody else around you to
8:25suffer okay
8:27and then at some point this is going to
8:29come out it always does it always comes
8:32out okay
8:33now
8:34your best bet is to try to put this
8:36behind you as quickly as you can go to
8:38your parents and tell them you know some
8:40horrible accident whatever happened
8:42happened get out in the open now okay
8:44instead of letting them worry worry
8:46worry and worry okay how old are you
8:49at some point okay
8:51you're going to want to
8:53to mend things with your family okay you
8:56let this drag out for another three days
8:58another week another two weeks okay you
9:01make us solve this some other way and
9:03we'll solve it we always do okay
9:06okay
9:07i mean
9:08there's no point in coming forward to
9:10say oh my god this is what really
9:12happened once we figured it out okay you
9:15ever had anybody do anything wrong to
9:16you everybody hurt you in any way okay
9:18let me ask you a question when
9:20somebody's hurt you in the past
9:22and they've come to you and said i'm
9:23sorry okay i really i'm from the bottom
9:26of my heart i'm sorry for what happened
9:28do you forgive them
9:30what about somebody that does something
9:32to you and in their lives
9:34lies lies lies and lies you forgive them
9:38it's a lot harder too sometimes a lot
9:40harder to
9:42come the last time somebody hurts you
9:43over and over and lets you suffer for a
9:46period of time and and lied about it
9:48then you caught them okay well once they
9:51once you caught them that apology didn't
9:52mean a hell of a lot did it okay
9:55all right
9:56right now your best bet is to just get
9:58it out in the open whatever happened and
10:01tell us now okay so we can we can kind
10:03of start getting passes try to help you
10:06explain okay because keep in mind you're
10:08talking to people there's nothing you're
10:09going to tell any of the three of us
10:11that's going to surprise us okay
10:12i had to sit down with with with mothers
10:15who
10:16rolled over their babies accidentally
10:18i've had to sit down with mothers whose
10:20kids have drowned in swimming pools i've
10:23had to sit down with mothers who had
10:25boyfriends who beat their kids to death
10:27uh you know who felt horrible about what
10:29happened and then try not to have to go
10:32to them and help them try to explain to
10:33their families
10:34okay
10:36and then i've also had to
10:38deal with people who have done
10:40horrible unspeakable things to children
10:43and then lied about it and lied about it
10:45and lied about it okay
10:47and i'll bet you somewhere in there i've
10:49probably dealt with somebody who maybe
10:50made a mistake but continued to lie
10:52about it maybe they weren't such a bad
10:54person but maybe the whole world didn't
10:56see it that way
10:57maybe their family didn't see it that
10:58way because they kept lying lying and
11:00lying and lie about it and then when it
11:01finally came in and in months down the
11:03road or you know days down the road when
11:05they finally decided to come forward
11:06okay people were past it you told me
11:09that you lied to me for the last time i
11:10don't listen what you have to say don't
11:12talk to me okay you know we've we've had
11:15to you know we've had to go into court
11:17and try to help people explain
11:18situations and we had to go into court
11:20in times and say you know
11:22the person just never said they kept
11:23lying to us and kept lying to us and
11:25lying to us and lying to us okay we're
11:27all human beings okay
11:29you tell me
11:31i mean
11:32you know you're a smart person figure it
11:34out okay so far well the only thing that
11:36we can say for sure
11:38at this point okay
11:40is that you have lied to him about all
11:43these things you brought us here okay
11:47all right i want you to look at this
11:49from an outsider's perspective
11:51somebody somewhere down the road they
11:52have to decide you know how this all
11:54plays out what would you do
11:57how would you see that person
11:59how did you see that person different
12:00than you might see somebody maybe a
12:02young mother who made a mistake and you
12:03know maybe initially was afraid to tell
12:05the truth but at some point came forward
12:07and said horrible thing happened i'm
12:09sorry i feel terrible about it but i
12:11have to tell you
12:13the horrible thing that happened and
12:15this is the honesty guys truth of
12:17everything that i've said i do not know
12:19where she is
12:20the last person that i saw her with is
12:22denial she's the last person that i've
12:25seen my daughter with and see here
12:26here's the problem i i think sergeant
12:28alice started out trying to get to this
12:30is that we we know that's not the truth
12:32you know listen
12:34we know that that's not true that can't
12:36be the truth because if that were the
12:37truth everything you would have told us
12:39would have been on the money the
12:41addresses you would have taken this
12:42would have been on the money everything
12:44else would have matched
12:45if you told us the truth we wouldn't be
12:47here at universal studios at a place
12:50that you've been fired since 2006
12:52were you trying to explain to us you
12:54know you have an office and and all that
12:55stuff who wouldn't be here
12:57so we know and this is the part we need
12:59to get past we we already know that
13:01you're not telling us the truth that you
13:02know what happened to kaylee you know
13:03where keeley is but here's here's here's
13:06what we're trying to get by is that
13:07there's
13:08you're one of you fall into one of two
13:10categories and i'm sure he explained it
13:11and i explained it is that
13:13if this is something that an accident
13:14that happened and
13:16no matter
13:17how you think people are going to look
13:19at you they're going to look at you a
13:20lot worse if they show if you continue
13:22showing that you're callous or not
13:24caring and that you just show complete
13:27dispassion and disregard for human life
13:29or they can look at you as someone that
13:31you know what i can understand i'm a
13:32young mother or she's a young mother
13:34first child something horrible happened
13:37she's thinking oh my god my life isn't
13:38going good right now i already know my
13:40life is struggling people don't see me
13:42in that great of a light i know i got
13:43problems at home and i've got problems
13:45with friends i know i got problems with
13:46work or lack of work all of a sudden
13:48something bad happens to my child and
13:49people are going to think i'm just a
13:51devil
13:52see
13:53there's a difference between this person
13:54who makes a mistake and says listen i'm
13:56i'm sorry this is the reason i i lied to
13:59you this is the reason i was scared
14:01compared to the person who might sit
14:02here and say i have no idea what you're
14:04talking about
14:06there's a big difference there and i can
14:08tell you now that everything you told me
14:09is a lot everything that you've told me
14:11this morning from from zany from the
14:14addresses from universal from all these
14:15people that you've talked to including
14:17people that you never told me their
14:18names and i found them and talked to
14:19them
14:20you know
14:21everything that you've told me this
14:22morning is a lie every single thing
14:24that there's one of two options right
14:26now
14:27you need to tell me the truth and we can
14:30work with that
14:31or if you continue down this path and
14:33continue lying i can tell you that when
14:34this snowball gets at the bottom of the
14:36hill the only person that's going to get
14:38hurt in it is you
14:40that's not true
14:42a lot of people around you get hurt
14:43you're worried people are hurting right
14:45now and
14:46you know what one person puts stop to
14:48that
14:50i've been trying you haven't been wait
14:53wait a minute okay let's go through this

14:58stop me at the part that i say that's

15:03and i want you to stop me at the part
15:05that isn't the truth okay
15:07you take your daughter and you drop her
15:08off on june the ninth
15:11somebody at a babysitter's house okay
15:14now this is a babysitter that lives at
15:15this apartment okay that's been making
15:17it dropped her off at that apartment at
15:20those stairs
15:21oh you just walked her you dropped off
15:23me walked her to the stairs that's where
15:25i've dropped her off a bunch of other
15:27times
15:28besides just that day okay when you
15:30dropped her off you you took her at that
15:32point danny did she took her you left
15:34her with it you left her in zanny's care
15:37on june the ninth okay
15:40so far that's right okay
15:44you first call the police about this
15:47when your mother and father okay
15:50uh actually you don't call the police to
15:52report your daughter nelson what happens
15:54is your parents find their car that's
15:56been sold for man scott and your parents
15:58ask you where your daughter is and you
16:00tell your daughter or your parents you
16:02haven't seen your daughter for over a
16:03month right that's true okay so i
16:06haven't told anything so so far i
16:07haven't said anything it's not true okay
16:09that's true okay sounds that's true
16:11sounds reasonable to you correct okay
16:14when the police do get involved okay
16:16when you're when your parents involve
16:17the police in an attempt to locate your
16:20child because they're worried the first
16:22thing you do okay is you lie to the
16:25detective whose job it is to try to find
16:27your daughter and get her back into safe
16:29hands okay you give him all kinds of bad
16:31addresses to look at right okay so far
16:34i'm on track right
16:35okay then
16:37you bring us out to universal where you
16:39say you work in an office
16:41to try to help find stuff that will help
16:43us find your daughter
16:45i'm on track so far okay and we get here
16:48we walk all the way down the hall to
16:49where you tell us you don't really work
16:51here you don't have an office here okay
16:54so far they have said it's true correct
16:56okay that sounds real to you okay i'm
16:59telling you this story i'm saying to you
17:00listen
17:01i dropped my child off
17:04five weeks ago
17:05at the babysitter's house
17:07she's just disappeared
17:09no i didn't call the police and tell him
17:13matter of fact
17:14i made some attempts to locate her on my
17:16own but i didn't really get the police
17:18involved or
17:19you know
17:20do anything like that okay
17:23and oh by the way um i got my mom and
17:26dad's car towed
17:28and then when my parents asked me what
17:29happened to my daughter i told my
17:31in five weeks
17:32so they call the police okay now what i
17:34did is i lied to the police when they
17:36got there okay i told them a whole bunch
17:38of crap that didn't true gave him a
17:39bunch of bad addresses to go look at
17:41where
17:42i know my daughter's not there and i did
17:44all this to try to help find my daughter
17:46it makes sense to you right that makes
17:48sense to you
17:50it makes sense to you that i'm trying to
17:52help the police find my daughter by
17:54giving a bunch of bad addresses that
17:56make sense to you
17:59that's what i said yes no no i'm asking
18:01you that makes sense to you
18:05my attempt to help him find my child
18:07okay what i've done to try to help him
18:09find my child is i've given him a whole
18:11bunch of addresses to go to that are bad
18:13aggressive that's what i did to help
18:15them try to find my child that makes
18:16sense to you i took them to the last
18:18place that i've seen my daughter besides
18:21that i took them to other places that i
18:23played
18:25when you brought us here when you
18:27brought us here to go look in your
18:29office that was supposed to help us how
18:32because everything we're doing here is
18:33about finding your daughter okay so i
18:35want you okay to explain to me how
18:38coming here to go to an office that you
18:41don't have i want you to tell me how
18:44that's helping us find your daughter
18:46because everything
18:47every bit of focus right now okay you
18:50got three people here to try to help you
18:51that's what we're here to try to help

18:57clues to look for evidence that will

20:58months ago
20:59no he hasn't worked here for quite 10
21:01months how long it's been at least 10
21:04months okay he got fired in 2002 he
21:06hasn't been an employee here since 2002.

21:16what she had told me julian lewis never
21:18worked at universal studios
21:21i'm sorry is the baby's daddy actually
21:24dead

22:16do have an id somewhere at my house both
22:18of my parents have seen it because my
22:20parents know that i've worked here i
22:21used to have an office
22:23now just like you have an office no
22:27and we're here to go to what to do what
22:30we're here because why
22:33try and put things together now we're
22:35here in this building because
22:40we put a lot more together than i think
22:41you realize we put together my question
22:44to you is we're in this office because
22:46we got here because

22:50our purpose in coming here was to do

22:55i guess there wasn't a purpose there
22:56wasn't a purpose whatsoever to come up
22:58here so we're wasting time valuable time
23:00without to be spent looking for your
23:01daughter
23:03i'm trying to think of places where i
23:04know she's been you're not answering my
23:06question do you want us to help can you
23:07help us find your daughter do you want
23:08you well then you need to help
23:11a good starting point would be to answer
23:13the questions okay

23:17you just ignore that like as if i never
23:19asked it and go off in some other
23:20direction is that answering the question

23:37lying to us is going to help us find

24:06to solve that problem and help find your
24:09daughter quicker

24:19us helping find your daughter faster
24:22it isn't then why would you do that but
24:24saying i don't know and telling you that
24:26i just dropped her off and that was the
24:27last time that i've seen her even
24:29starting with that everybody else was
24:30like well and what happened after that
24:33that can't just be it you remember the
24:34phone call you were telling us about

24:40you know what time of day around noon it
24:42was from a private number okay what'd
24:44she tell you what'd your daughter say to
24:46you she said hi mommy that's it and she
24:49started telling me a story talking to me
24:50about her shoes and books it's important
24:53that you tell me i mean maybe there's
24:54something in what she said that can help
24:56us figure out where she is what did she
24:58say i tried to ask her where she was and

27:33been gone for away from me for more than

29:52see if we could actually get some good
29:54detail on pictures and faces but ricardo
29:56was saying that he spent the night with
29:57him on the night and left on the 10th
29:59and this is being this is being
30:00corroborated right now which again shows
30:03that you're continuously lying about the
30:05ninth being the day that uh
30:09on the 9th of this month not of last
30:11month
30:12i was not at his place the 9th of that
30:15month so you stayed at your ex
30:16boyfriend's house in latin this month
30:18when you're staying at your other
30:19boyfriend's house tony the rest of the
30:21month he'd been out of town so staying
30:23over at another friend's place while he
30:25was gone that wasn't staying in his
30:27apartment
30:28i was staying with amy and ricardo and
30:31jp jp raparda owned the house
30:34so why didn't you tell us we were
30:36staying there we drove right by the

46:25was right at the corner of goldenrod 50.

46:38from 50 that's where my car stalled

46:41so i had to get out to guys help me push
46:43it into that parking lot

46:47saying i was going to come back and put
46:48gas in it
46:49why is your mother saying that's her car
46:51or is she is that what i was still in my
46:53parents name it was my brother's car
46:55he ended up that was the car they bought
46:57my brother in high school obviously bob

50:32around kaylee or the other children to
50:34babysit so
50:36it was never an uncomfortable situation
50:38but this is
50:41so heart-wrenching because there was
50:42never a sign
50:44never a single sign that this was going
50:46to happen right do you know where she
50:47was from with the name like
50:49so right or whatever is in either
50:52she's mixed she's puerto rican and her
50:54father's black
50:55she's from new york
50:57from what i've been told that's where
50:59she was born
51:00she lived in miami she went to u of f
51:03and
51:04you said you went to colonial high
51:05school did you go to college afterwards
51:08yeah lunch how many years of
51:09volunteering about a year and a half
51:10yeah my event planning certificate yeah
51:13well that's when you got hired on here
51:16well i got that outside of all of this
51:19i just wanted to do event planning
51:21period and
51:22working occasional events even before
51:25actually coming to the event department
51:27very part-time or as a seasonal employee
51:31there's just something i always wanted
51:32to do anyway

51:36um
51:37when you were growing up you take any
51:38medicines or anything no
51:42uh your baby take any medicines didn't
51:44she need any medicine not at all she had
51:46good health she's had one cold and it
51:48lasted two days her entire life yeah
51:51wow she's been extremely healthy
51:58pediatrician
52:00who's your baby's pediatric dr silva
52:14the only people that were on the list
52:15was myself and both of my parents then
52:18my dad had come with me to a couple
52:19visits my mom i think came to one it was
52:21usually just kaylee and i
52:28favorite place to go
52:30i guess universal is one of them
52:32well as a theatrical thing of course but
52:35she like jay blanchard park going to
52:37lake underhill and walking around the
52:39lake
52:39where where abouts an apartment she
52:41liked the best the playgrounds she liked
52:44to just attempt to run around lake
52:46underhill she'd like to go and walk
52:49the big trail at jay blanchard park yeah
52:51that's a big tree oh yeah yeah we just
52:54finished walking that trail that's where
52:56the jogger was killed i believe
52:58it's a pretty park my mom didn't want me
53:00going out there to run for that reason
53:02yeah she didn't even want me running on
53:04the outside of our neighborhood around
53:06chickasaw for the longest time because
53:08of that
53:09i'm trying to think when you pull into
53:11the park
53:13is the playground off to the right if
53:14you're looking at the treats
53:17which one did she play at she's played
53:19at both of them but usually the bigger
53:21one that's down towards where the y is
53:23right that's the one she like the most
53:25cause there's more things to climb on
53:27and for her to run around there's
53:28usually a lot more little kids yeah
53:31and there's swings when was the last
53:32time she was there
53:34the last time i know that she was there
53:36was the end of may
53:38i took her in april a couple times i've
53:41taken a few times myself this year the
53:43last time that i know that she went with
53:44someone other than myself at the end of
53:46my end of may
53:48and she
53:49last used last summer june and 9th
53:52on monday
54:01do you remember what y'all did on june
54:02the 8th
54:04i can't think of what i did but
54:08anything significant
54:09i think i might have been at tony's i
54:11think my mom took haley up to see her
54:13parents and outdoors she either took her
54:14up there that saturday
54:16is my boyfriend's apartment oh okay
54:30so that was like a day visit
54:32for my parents or for my mom yeah maybe
54:34my mom goes up there even just by
54:36herself or with my dad or if i go up
54:38there with her
54:39it's usually just your mom
54:41that's your your current boyfriend right
54:43is that what she said
54:45so your mom will go there and she she's
54:47like my mom will go up to mount dora to
54:48see her parents oh okay
54:51and your your boyfriend's happy to live
54:53over too they're not no he lives off of
54:55university oh
54:57okay i got you
54:59so your baby went up there with your mom
55:01to see her parents
55:04see her great grandparents yeah how old
55:06are they
55:07oh my grandfather's i think 88 maybe wow
55:11and my grandmother's probably 82 83.
55:32that's my partner he's going on a cruise
55:36to
55:36bahamas i think
55:38was that three day four night or year
55:41four day three night or something like
55:42that
55:44that'd be nice i guess but i don't like
55:46boats
55:48so
55:53man i just don't know everything that
55:54was asked of you and i just don't know
55:57you're you're our biggest help you're
55:58going to be our biggest help in solving
56:00this i have nothing to go off of that's
56:02the problem
56:04i have perspective ideas of maybe where
56:06she could go at the same time
56:09she could have gone back up to new york
56:10she could have gone up to jacksonville
56:11where we have a friend could have gone
56:13down to miami where her mom and her
56:14sister live now she could have gone
56:17anywhere did she have any children no
56:19and we're talking about the babysitter
56:20right
56:21she didn't have any children could could
56:23she have children was it something that
56:24she could have done i'm pretty sure that
56:26she could that was never anything that
56:28come came up
56:37i love this child you know i wish you
56:39were mine or anything like that or never
56:41that i had witnessed or anybody else had
56:43ever told me she used to just say how
56:45much she loved katelyn that she was such
56:46a good kid
56:48and you know she was very very proud of
56:50how she was being raised right it was
56:52always good praise but more of
56:54things that i've heard from other
56:56friends nothing that
56:57sounded out of the ordinary that was
56:59ever strange or
57:00weird right
57:02but then this just
57:04happened
57:05she was nonchalant with me the morning
57:07of everything was perfectly fine
57:11and when you contacted when you would
57:13call like you would drop
57:15baby off in the morning or for the day
57:18or
57:19was it because you had to go to work and
57:21she was watching would you call during
57:23the day
57:28or send a text message or if i was
57:29online just to make sure that everything
57:31was okay or she would occasionally call
57:33me
57:33can you get online here or
57:35can you send text messages
57:38i usually just use my phone oh okay i
57:40usually
57:42text from well use my computer instant
57:44message from
57:45you know anywhere else where i have
57:47access
57:48well once again i mean that phone
57:50i'm not an electronic geek but i mean
57:53the phone might have some valuable clues
57:55in there that can help us try to track
57:57down maybe the bad thing is it only
57:58saves 20 calls at a time
58:02text messages it only
58:04saves the messages that i receive it
58:06doesn't show anything that i send that's
58:08why i pulled up a list of stuff for them
58:10is that a boost phone no it's a nokia
58:13it's an 18 t phone it's probably one of
58:16the cheapest cheapest crappiest simplest
58:18ones but the phone the phone company
58:20your service will have your telephones
58:22itemized for
58:24your video
58:25incoming and outgoing incoming and
58:27outgoing the thing is do you have those
58:29itemized bills for
58:31i printed off the ones for july did you
58:33give them to yuri okay we did last night
58:36actually i put them on
58:38a zip drive form i gave them my zip
58:39drive that has pictures
58:41and it has two different word documents
58:44one has my text messages one they were
58:46sent to what number and ones that i
58:48received it didn't show the actual
58:50message itself but it at least showed
58:52text message sent at this time to such
58:54and such number right same thing with
58:56the phone list i just need to go back
58:58through go back on the singular website
59:00and find the other mods
59:02right
59:03and i know she's had at least three
59:05different phone numbers in the last
59:07almost four years that i've met her
59:08mm-hmm
59:10and i know that she was on two different
59:11phone plans
59:13and she lived in two different places
59:15since did you know
59:17she's lived since she's been watching
59:18your childhood no she's lived just
59:20normally i know since i've met her but
59:22she had just standing over her legs
59:25she looked was she watching your baby
59:27there yeah and then in the uh whatever
59:29this other place is or there was another
59:31apartment that she had been in probably
59:33right about the time that i met her
59:35it's
59:36alaba club apartments does you already
59:38know all that mm-hmm
59:42so she'd only lived there for a few
59:44months i think haley probably was only
59:45there maybe once or twice
59:49did she live in the apartment did you
59:51drop her off at the steps was that one
59:52of the ones she lived down was that
59:54that was one of the places where we had
59:56met up a couple different times i
59:58actually have a couple friends that live
59:59in that complex so does she okay a good
1:00:01friend of mine from high school still
1:00:03lives there he has a one bedroom
1:00:04apartment you know right around the
1:00:05world you know who her friends were and
1:00:07their where they lived her names
1:00:12she used to talk about people all the
1:00:14time but would never use specific names
1:00:16or
1:00:17really go into any detail about anything
1:00:19and again it never seemed weird some
1:00:21people are just very particular about
1:00:23giving out details or specific details
1:00:26about other people so i understood all
1:00:28of that but all looking back at stuff
1:00:30now the privacy the way she was a little
1:00:33bit changing phones and
1:00:36it just it didn't seem right whatsoever
1:00:39right
1:00:40so
1:00:40looking back at any place that i know
1:00:42that she had ever gone to or
1:00:45that again would seem familiar for me
1:00:47that
1:00:48maybe i've gone to to meet her to drop
1:00:50off kaylee or to pick up kaylee for
1:00:52whatever reason we'd find neutral places
1:00:54sometimes or i'd go and pick her up at a
1:00:56grocery store if that's where they were
1:00:58to try to make it a little bit easier
1:01:01if if we found a nanny today and we
1:01:03found your baby what's what's your
1:01:05biggest
1:01:06what's the next biggest hurdle for you
1:01:08in your life as far as
1:01:11who's it
1:01:13maybe explaining something to somebody
1:01:14or who
1:01:16what's the next biggest concern i know
1:01:17your major concern now is finding your
1:01:19baby honestly
1:01:21that's all i care about at this point
1:01:23and i'll i'll take that necessary step
1:01:25with whatever with you know who would
1:01:27that be i mean
1:01:29who who's going to be the next
1:01:31hurdle in your life as far as trying to
1:01:33explain it no i'm not a neglectful
1:01:35mother i'm not you know is it gonna be
1:01:38your mom no it's gonna be saying that
1:01:41and proving that to myself every day
1:01:43my mom flat out told me yesterday she
1:01:45will never be able to forgive me and i
1:01:46even told her i'm never gonna be able to
1:01:47forgive myself every day i've been
1:01:49beating myself up about this every
1:01:51single day right not knowing where to go
1:01:54what to do
1:01:55running in circles literally because
1:01:56that's all i can do with this thing
1:01:58right even if i would have had my car in
1:02:00perfect condition
1:02:01you know under perfect conditions
1:02:04it wouldn't have mattered where would i
1:02:06have gone just
1:02:07driven around
1:02:08for nothing that's what it feels like
1:02:11yeah i just you know i mean
1:02:14i would hope this would never happen to
1:02:15you again but i think
1:02:17if it's ever happened never let this
1:02:25i wouldn't hesitate to talk to my
1:02:27parents this time if something happened
1:02:29i mean i learned
1:02:30the biggest lesson from all of us i made
1:02:32the greatest mistake that i ever could
1:02:34have made
1:02:35as a parent and i even you know told
1:02:38yuri that this morning and he said he
1:02:39couldn't disagree right
1:02:42now stand up straight
1:02:48well i know you've been in here a long
1:02:49time
1:02:50appreciate you talking to us and whatnot
1:02:52i mean i'm sorry i've given you guys the
1:02:54runner up we're not we're not trying to
1:02:56be big scary guys we're just trying to
1:02:58know and
1:02:59we're just trying to make sure we get
1:03:00accurate information so we have
1:03:02something to work off of i understand
1:03:04that i just wish i honestly had more
1:03:07things to help with we've talked about
1:03:09going through my computer maybe trying
1:03:11to find
1:03:12past conversations through instant
1:03:14messenger or through emails or something
1:03:18okay
1:03:19i'll offer up
1:03:21my computer in a heartbeat
1:03:24just like with my phone logs and
1:03:25everything else anything
1:03:27that could possibly help that's why
1:03:29we've set up websites and i've been
1:03:31making phone calls and trying to get a
1:03:32hold of people
1:03:34i had such a limited number of people i
1:03:36was actually trusting at that point
1:03:37thinking maybe they could help maybe
1:03:39they'd have some insight i didn't want
1:03:41to involve a bunch of people that maybe
1:03:43didn't know the situation the biggest
1:03:44mistake was not calling you guys right
1:03:46off the bat i understand
1:03:48all of that it's the biggest slap in the
1:03:50face and i did that to myself but the
1:03:51worst way i've done this to my daughter
1:03:54by
1:03:54allowing her to still be with someone
1:03:56else
1:03:58yeah that's true um you know you're
1:04:01right about that
1:04:02by failing to notify somebody
1:04:04right i'm glad you acknowledged that but
1:04:06by failing to notify somebody
1:04:09you put your daughter at greater risk
1:04:12you put your daughter in
1:04:14terrible danger by just letting this
1:04:15drag out for five weeks
1:04:17and not telling anybody
1:04:19that's uh
1:04:20you're right i'm not gonna argue with
1:04:22you there okay
1:04:23uh you wanna head back to the office
1:04:25yeah get outside of uh uh i want to
1:04:28bring this zaneta up on the uh uh i'm
1:04:30gonna put that name in uh david and see
1:04:32what we get
1:04:33better take a look make sure
1:04:35both of my parents were even saying to
1:04:37try to figure out her names if she went
1:04:39by something else let me let me just go
1:04:41because this is still running i noticed
