  1. 0:00You can now connect Claude to Blender
  2. 0:02and start working with Claude in your
  3. 0:04Blender scenes. And today I'm going to
  4. 0:05show you how you can import a character,
  5. 0:08either you created or you found free on
  6. 0:10the internet, and then animate it using
  7. 0:12Claude code. As you can see, you can now
  8. 0:14have essentially a tutor or an assistant
  9. 0:16inside your Blender projects that can
  10. 0:19help you build, animate, structure,
  11. 0:21sculpt. There's a ton of different use
  12. 0:23cases with this new tool that Anthropic
  13. 0:26is providing for Blender users. So,
  14. 0:28let's jump straight into it. So, before
  15. 0:30we jump in, there's going to be three
  16. 0:31things that you need downloaded on your
  17. 0:33computer before you start. First, you're
  18. 0:35going to need a Claude subscription,
  19. 0:37whether that's pro, max, or you're on a
  20. 0:39teams account. Make sure you have a
  21. 0:41Claude subscription, so go to Claude,
  22. 0:43sign up, and then download the desktop
  23. 0:46app. We're going to be working inside
  24. 0:47the desktop app for this tutorial today.
  25. 0:50You can download it for Mac, you can
  26. 0:51download it for Windows, and you can
  27. 0:53find it at Claude and you can find it at
  28. 0:55this link right here, code.claude.com.
  29. 0:58Right here, download it, and then open
  30. 1:00that app on your desktop. If you're
  31. 1:02curious what the desktop app looks like,
  32. 1:04it's just this little Claude or
  33. 1:05Anthropic logo that you open and then
  34. 1:08you sign in with your account and your
  35. 1:09subscription, and then you're all set.
  36. 1:11You'll see that you have chat, co-work,
  37. 1:13and code. So, perfect. Now that you have
  38. 1:15Claude installed, you have a
  39. 1:16subscription, head over to Blender and
  40. 1:18download the most recent version, which
  41. 1:20is Blender 5.1. Download that onto your
  42. 1:22computer, and now we're set. So, to
  43. 1:24actually connect Claude to Blender, feel
  44. 1:27free to watch this video right here. I
  45. 1:29go in depth on how you can connect the
  46. 1:31MCP, the Blender MCP, to Claude. I'm
  47. 1:34just going to walk over really briefly
  48. 1:35how I did it in that video. So, if you
  49. 1:37already have set it up and maybe you
  50. 1:39forgot about it, this is just how you
  51. 1:40reset this system up. So, open up this
  52. 1:43left directory up here that says
  53. 1:45collapse sidebar, click customize, and
  54. 1:47then click connectors.
  55. 1:49And then inside your connectors
  56. 1:51directory, you'll see I have Adobe, I
  57. 1:53have Higgs Field, I have Google Drive,
  58. 1:55Claude and Chrome, and then Blender. You
  59. 1:57might not see Blender if you haven't
  60. 1:59connected it yet. So, to connect Blender
  61. 2:01to Claude, you're going to click this
  62. 2:02plus icon up here and then click browse
  63. 2:04connectors.
  64. 2:05In the search connectors, you can search
  65. 2:07up Blender.
  66. 2:09Click on that.
  67. 2:11And right now I have it enabled, but
  68. 2:13you'll see an install up here and it
  69. 2:15will walk you through how to set that
  70. 2:16up. If you ever get confused throughout
  71. 2:17this entire process, make sure you go
  72. 2:19and watch that video on how I set up the
  73. 2:21Blender MCP to Claude or the Blender
  74. 2:24official connector, that's what they're
  75. 2:25calling it, to Claude. Now we have
  76. 2:28Blender connected to Claude and we can
  77. 2:30work in any chat, in co-work chat, or
  78. 2:33code, and it will be connected. So, now
  79. 2:35we need to go into Blender and open it
  80. 2:38up to connect our MCP. All right. So, I
  81. 2:41have open Blender. Um, this is a fresh
  82. 2:43project, so we have the default cube, we
  83. 2:45have the camera, and then we have the
  84. 2:47default light. Okay, and so now that we
  85. 2:49are inside of Blender, we can go back in
  86. 2:51Claude and start prompting. It's that
  87. 2:53easy. So, let's head back into Claude,
  88. 2:55and what I'm going to do is just ask,
  89. 2:57"Are you connected to my current
  90. 3:01Blender session?"
  91. 3:04Yes, it's connected. So, here's where I
  92. 3:05can see um the default cube, the camera,
  93. 3:08and the light. We're in object mode
  94. 3:10um and the scene. The scene layout
  95. 3:12workspace is active. So, perfect. Now,
  96. 3:15we're going to head into the Claude code
  97. 3:17tab, which is up here on the right, um
  98. 3:19to create a project folder and then
  99. 3:21actually start animating our character
  100. 3:23inside of Blender. I'm going to show you
  101. 3:24exactly where you can get free
  102. 3:25characters or if you do have characters
  103. 3:26with the rigs on them and stuff, you can
  104. 3:28do that. So, let's jump into the code
  105. 3:30tab. That's in this left directory right
  106. 3:32here. It's the one furthest to the
  107. 3:34right, and that will open up Claude
  108. 3:36code. Now, we need to set up our project
  109. 3:38environment. So, we need to pick a
  110. 3:40folder, we need to set our model, we
  111. 3:43need to set our permissions, and then we
  112. 3:44need to set either if we're going to be
  113. 3:46local or we're going to be remote
  114. 3:47controlling. So, firstly, let's select
  115. 3:49our project directory. I'm just going to
  116. 3:51open a folder. I just created one called
  117. 3:53Blender Animation. Let me find that
  118. 3:55really quick. So, there. I have Blender
  119. 3:57Animation. There's nothing in this
  120. 3:58project, but it's just good to work in a
  121. 4:00project folder because if you are saving
  122. 4:01files or you're saving outputs or you
  123. 4:03have code, it's good to have that all
  124. 4:05organized in one so Claude can see all
  125. 4:06of that. We're going to be working on
  126. 4:08the local environment. In our In our
  127. 4:11modes, I want to do bypass permissions
  128. 4:13because I don't want to be sitting and
  129. 4:14waiting and accepting permissions um
  130. 4:16because a lot of the stuff that we're
  131. 4:17working on right now, because we're
  132. 4:18building from scratch, it's not going to
  133. 4:19edit or delete anything super important.
  134. 4:21So, I choose bypass permissions and then
  135. 4:23I'm going to be working on Opus 1.7
  136. 4:25extra high. So, let's just verify again,
  137. 4:28"Are you connected to the
  138. 4:31current Blender
  139. 4:34session?"
  140. 4:36Yes, we'll trust this workspace and
  141. 4:38we'll kick this project off. Okay, so it
  142. 4:41just verified, you know, do you want me
  143. 4:42to check the session again? Yes, and
  144. 4:44it's seeing that camera, cube, and
  145. 4:46light. So, I'm going to give Claude some
  146. 4:48context on what we're going to be
  147. 4:49building inside of this project. And
  148. 4:51what we're going to be working on is
  149. 4:52actually animating characters inside of
  150. 4:55Blender using the Blender MCP with
  151. 4:57Claude. It sounds insane, but we're just
  152. 5:00going to update Claude and say, "Here is
  153. 5:02some context for this project folder.
  154. 5:04I'm going to use this project to import
  155. 5:07characters into Blender, and then I want
  156. 5:09you to animate the characters based on
  157. 5:12my natural language. I will import the
  158. 5:14character, you will analyze the rig, the
  159. 5:16rig structure. I will talk to you in
  160. 5:18natural language about animations, such
  161. 5:21as waving, jumping, sliding, and then
  162. 5:23you will create those animations on
  163. 5:26those characters based off of what I
  164. 5:29give you." Here's some context. You will
  165. 5:31analyze the rig structure. I will walk
  166. 5:32you through a natural language about
  167. 5:34animations, such as waving, jumping,
  168. 5:35sliding, and then you will create those
  169. 5:37animations on those characters based off
  170. 5:40what I give you. So, just some context
  171. 5:42for Claude to understand, you know, why
  172. 5:43are we building in Blender? What are we
  173. 5:45doing? You don't have to do this, but I
  174. 5:47like to do this because it's an empty
  175. 5:49project folder. It gives Claude context
  176. 5:51on the entire project, what this project
  177. 5:53folder is used for. So, it saved it,
  178. 5:56saved it as context in the project
  179. 5:57folder, and then it's just giving me a
  180. 5:59couple of defaults. So, frame 24, frame
  181. 6:01rate 24, 24 FPS, 30, 60,
  182. 6:05um default clip length for actions. We
  183. 6:08can iterate all of this when we are
  184. 6:09starting to actually animate our
  185. 6:11characters inside of Blender. But, let's
  186. 6:13go find a character on the internet.
  187. 6:14There's a few different places that you
  188. 6:15can find them, free and paid. So, the
  189. 6:17first place you can go, this is a paid
  190. 6:19version of like a character library, um
  191. 6:22is Blender Studio. So,
  192. 6:23studio.blender.org.
  193. 6:24You can find a bunch of different
  194. 6:25characters inside of this library. So,
  195. 6:28you have Storm or Snow, and these are
  196. 6:30characters from projects in Blender. So,
  197. 6:32they're all rigged, they are all
  198. 6:34sculpted, they're really high-quality
  199. 6:36assets. It is, I believe, $11.50 a
  200. 6:38month. If I click on this, you can see.
  201. 6:40So, it's $11.50 a month um to get
  202. 6:43instant access to all of our training
  203. 6:44and film assets. So, in my opinion,
  204. 6:47Blender is a free and open-source
  205. 6:48platform. I do recommend that you sign
  206. 6:51up for the subscription if you're
  207. 6:52heavily using Blender or just getting
  208. 6:54into the basics so you can have access
  209. 6:57to models just like models and
  210. 6:59characters just like these. So, if
  211. 7:01you're willing to spend the small $11.50
  212. 7:03a month, highly recommend it. Another
  213. 7:05place you can go, and this is one of my
  214. 7:06favorite platforms of all time um in the
  215. 7:093D space, is Meshy. This is where you
  216. 7:11can create image to 3D models. You can
  217. 7:13create animations onto onto your
  218. 7:16characters. You can create 3D printing
  219. 7:18stuff, um film production, product
  220. 7:19design, education, game development, 3D
  221. 7:21printing, AR, VR, and then interior
  222. 7:23design. This is a super cool platform.
  223. 7:26Let me just sign in really quick. You do
  224. 7:28have to pay monthly. Um, I'm honestly
  225. 7:30just on a free subscription and I just
  226. 7:32use the older models cuz the older
  227. 7:33models are great and you get to you get
  228. 7:35to download them for free. So, you see
  229. 7:37they have a bunch of different models
  230. 7:38that you can pick from.
  231. 7:39Um, great library, very, very unique
  232. 7:42characters. So, you can pull and pick
  233. 7:44from these type of models. Highly
  234. 7:47recommend going to Meshy and checking
  235. 7:48that out. Another great platform where
  236. 7:50you can find characters, animations,
  237. 7:52animation presets is Mixamo. This is by
  238. 7:54Adobe, so you just sign in with your
  239. 7:56Adobe account. Um, if you go over here,
  240. 7:58we can find characters. There's a ton of
  241. 8:00different characters that you can pick
  242. 8:01from. Cool thing about Mixamo is it
  243. 8:03gives you animations as well. Meshy does
  244. 8:05this, too. They have pre-built
  245. 8:06animations for your models. But, if you
  246. 8:09look, you can see there's there's a ton
  247. 8:11of different animations um that you can
  248. 8:13use, but I don't want to use any of
  249. 8:15these because we're going to be using
  250. 8:15Claude to animate our characters. So,
  251. 8:18kind of defeats the purpose. But, if you
  252. 8:20are looking for quick animations,
  253. 8:22animation presets, characters, Mixamo is
  254. 8:24the place to go. That is if you're
  255. 8:25paying quarterly. So, technically, you
  256. 8:28would be paying $17 a month if you
  257. 8:29signed up for the for the monthly plan.
  258. 8:31So, just keep that in mind. Um, again,
  259. 8:33it's not a huge commitment and you can
  260. 8:35sign up for 1 month if you're just
  261. 8:36testing this out, and you are supporting
  262. 8:38Blender, which is a great thing because
  263. 8:40Blender lets us use all their tools for
  264. 8:41free, and it's great to support them so
  265. 8:43they can continue to let us use them for
  266. 8:45free. I'm actually going to subscribe to
  267. 8:47the $17 a month plan and pull an asset
  268. 8:50from the subscription. So, I'm going to
  269. 8:52sign in right now, and then I will
  270. 8:54import I will find a character, import
  271. 8:55it, and then we can start animating.
  272. 8:57Okay, so I just signed into Blender
  273. 8:58Studio. Thank you, Blender, for
  274. 9:00providing all of this for us. Um, but
  275. 9:02I'm going to go find some characters.
  276. 9:03So, to find that, we're going to go to
  277. 9:05assets, and then we can find characters,
  278. 9:07so models and rigs.
  279. 9:08Perfect. Now we are back in that same
  280. 9:11page that we saw before. So, we have
  281. 9:13Storm, Snow, Rain. These are characters
  282. 9:16from the Blender
  283. 9:17original films, I believe. Um, or no, I
  284. 9:20from their from their open movies. So,
  285. 9:22that's really cool. But, I'm going to
  286. 9:24find one that I like, and I really like
  287. 9:26that it's not just human models. They
  288. 9:27have like a bunch of different options
  289. 9:30to choose from.
  290. 9:31Um, and obviously, because they are
  291. 9:33created in Blender Studio by
  292. 9:35professional Blender artists, they're
  293. 9:37going to have amazing rigs. So, I'm
  294. 9:38going to choose Storm. So, I like this
  295. 9:40character. I'm going to download this
  296. 9:43into my Blender Animation folder that I
  297. 9:46just created. So, I'm going to go
  298. 9:47navigate to that project folder, which
  299. 9:49is right here. I will find the Blender
  300. 9:52Animation folder that I just created,
  301. 9:54which is right here, and then I will
  302. 9:56save this. Now that I have this
  303. 9:57downloaded in my Blender project, we can
  304. 10:00close out of that old Blender project
  305. 10:02that we just had open. That was just to
  306. 10:03verify that there was a connection and
  307. 10:04it is working. So, because it's
  308. 10:06downloaded as a blend file, I can just
  309. 10:08open this up straight from my file
  310. 10:09directory as is. So, inside of my
  311. 10:12project folder, this is where my Claude
  312. 10:14code
  313. 10:15project is connected. This is where I
  314. 10:17just downloaded my storm v1.1 blend file
  315. 10:21from Blender Studio. I can double-click
  316. 10:23on this. It'll open up Blender for me
  317. 10:25with my character. So, because this is
  318. 10:27from Blender Studio, obviously it's
  319. 10:29going to be rigged amazingly. And me
  320. 10:31personally, I don't have any experience
  321. 10:33with rigging, with animation of like
  322. 10:35human characters or like humanoid
  323. 10:37figures. So, this is going to be perfect
  324. 10:39for us to start using Claude to animate
  325. 10:42our snow character right here. I forget
  326. 10:45what is it? Our snow character right
  327. 10:47here. This guy right here that we just
  328. 10:48imported. So, let's go into Claude.
  329. 10:50Let's re-verify the connection just to
  330. 10:52make sure that we're connected to this
  331. 10:54project. And then we're going to start
  332. 10:56executing some of the animations. I just
  333. 10:58opened up a new Blender project. Inside
  334. 11:01of this project, you will see a
  335. 11:03character. Is this visible to you?
  336. 11:07So, I'm just shooting this off to verify
  337. 11:08that Okay.
  338. 11:10Yes, we connected to the empty
  339. 11:11directory. Now, are we connected to a
  340. 11:13new directory that we just downloaded
  341. 11:15off of Blender Studio? This is a good
  342. 11:16sign. So, yes, I can see the character
  343. 11:19storm, amateur geometry, existing
  344. 11:21actions, workspace. We are in rigging.
  345. 11:24Want me to do a full rig inspection now?
  346. 11:26Yes, we're going to want to do a full
  347. 11:27rig inspection.
  348. 11:30Yes, do a full rig inspection so you are
  349. 11:33ready to animate. I will give you the
  350. 11:35prompts on waving. After inspection, let
  351. 11:37me know when you are done and then we
  352. 11:38can start working on some different
  353. 11:39animations on the snow character.
  354. 11:43Okay, so I'm going to shoot that off.
  355. 11:44It's just going to do a full inspection
  356. 11:45of the rig to understand, you know,
  357. 11:47where everything is. Where are the
  358. 11:48fingers? Where are the wrists? All the
  359. 11:49way down to like the toes if there was
  360. 11:51bones on the toes. So, I want it to have
  361. 11:54a full understanding of the rig. It's
  362. 11:56going to have a better understanding
  363. 11:56than me. Like I said, very new to
  364. 11:58animation in Blender, very new to like
  365. 12:00character rigging in Blender. So, I'm
  366. 12:03using Claude to help me understand how
  367. 12:05can I start building skills in the
  368. 12:07animation world and how can Claude help
  369. 12:10me do some pretty simple animation
  370. 12:12techniques. Also, just a side note, I
  371. 12:14want to mention too, just a verification
  372. 12:17that this character rig is provided
  373. 12:18under the CC by license by Blender
  374. 12:21Studio.
  375. 12:22Um so, all credits go to Blender for
  376. 12:25creating this character, rigging this
  377. 12:26character, and then letting me use it
  378. 12:28and share it with the internet to show
  379. 12:29you guys how to create these really cool
  380. 12:30animations in Claude. So, thank you,
  381. 12:32Blender. Okay, so Claude is saying now
  382. 12:34it has the full picture of the rig. Let
  383. 12:37me save the rig knowledge to my memory,
  384. 12:39which is Claude's memory. So, future
  385. 12:41sessions don't recover it. Then I will
  386. 12:43give you a readout. So, here is the
  387. 12:45inspection. It found the root motion,
  388. 12:47spine, head, neck, arms, legs, fingers,
  389. 12:50hair, clothes, watch. So, perfect. So,
  390. 12:52if you look, we can see there's a rig on
  391. 12:54the watch, on the fingers, on his like
  392. 12:57torso, his arms, his face. So, Claude
  393. 12:59was able to pick up the main rigging
  394. 13:01elements that it can animate on top of
  395. 13:03this character. So, let's get into
  396. 13:05actually prompting how to animate.
  397. 13:07Firstly, I just want to do a simple
  398. 13:08wave, like a hello,
  399. 13:11um and see how that does. So, all I'm
  400. 13:13saying is for the first animation, I
  401. 13:14want you to do a simple wave, very
  402. 13:15smooth, cartoonish. He raises his hand,
  403. 13:18he waves, he puts it back down. Smooth
  404. 13:20animations. Let's shoot that off and see
  405. 13:23it build out. Also, it did mention that
  406. 13:25it is going to keep it at 24 FPS and the
  407. 13:28range from 1 to 250. So, one frame to
  408. 13:31250 frames. It's going to render in
  409. 13:33cycles and then the active workspace is
  410. 13:36going to stay in rigging, obviously,
  411. 13:37because we are rigging the character and
  412. 13:39animating the character. So, let's let
  413. 13:41this build out. It takes a few minutes.
  414. 13:43Shouldn't take too long, though. I will
  415. 13:45come back when it's wrapped up. Okay, so
  416. 13:47it just finished the animation, but then
  417. 13:49it crashed. So, that sucks. Um I'm going
  418. 13:52to reopen Blender. I'm going to
  419. 13:53re-prompt it with that same prompt. I'm
  420. 13:55just going to let Claude know, Blender
  421. 13:57just crashed. I'm going to reopen the
  422. 13:58same exact project, apply that Python
  423. 14:01code that you just executed onto the new
  424. 14:04project. Let me know if you have any
  425. 14:05problems. I'll shoot that off. I'm going
  426. 14:07to reopen my Blender project, which is
  427. 14:09right here. Okay, and now we should be
  428. 14:11set. This does happen and once we finish
  429. 14:14this animation, we can troubleshoot and
  430. 14:16see where the actual error went wrong.
  431. 14:18Why did it crash? Um but I wanted to
  432. 14:20keep it real with you guys like it did
  433. 14:22crash. So, that might be a problem on
  434. 14:24Claude's side or Blender's side. I don't
  435. 14:26know yet, but just to keep it
  436. 14:29transparent, Blender did crash. But that
  437. 14:31happens. I'm looking back on what Claude
  438. 14:33was doing. It created this little
  439. 14:34checklist for itself. Render out the
  440. 14:36frames in cycles at 1 18 30 38 60. I'm
  441. 14:41wondering if it's trying to render them
  442. 14:43all at the same time. And that just
  443. 14:44might be too much. Um so, that could be
  444. 14:46a problem or it just heading up or it
  445. 14:48just had a problem with the rendering.
  446. 14:50Uh writing the images to verify that the
  447. 14:52animation worked correctly. All right,
  448. 14:53so it just finished up. I said do not
  449. 14:54render cuz I don't want it to crash
  450. 14:56again. But if we check out the actual
  451. 14:58animation, you can see it looks
  452. 15:01terrible. Um
  453. 15:03it does not look real at all. Obviously,
  454. 15:05like Claude definitely got stuck with
  455. 15:08this like
  456. 15:10formatting. It did kind of animate it
  457. 15:13smoothly,
  458. 15:14but it definitely needs iteration. So,
  459. 15:17what we can do, we can go back into
  460. 15:18Claude and say,
  461. 15:20Here's the first iteration pass of the
  462. 15:22waving animation.
  463. 15:23Right now, the hand is flipped
  464. 15:25backwards. The animation looks a little
  465. 15:27choppy. Uh it's supposed to be smooth.
  466. 15:29His hand is
  467. 15:30His hand is supposed to be facing
  468. 15:31towards like an imaginary camera. His
  469. 15:34The palm of his hand should be facing
  470. 15:36forward just like his body is facing
  471. 15:38forward. His hand does not need to turn
  472. 15:40up at all. And make it a little bit
  473. 15:42slower, a little bit more smooth, not as
  474. 15:45choppy and fast.
  475. 15:47Let's just shoot that off and let it
  476. 15:48build up for us. Now, if you are a
  477. 15:50professional animator or you've worked
  478. 15:52in Blender for many, many years and you
  479. 15:54have a ton of experience, you could
  480. 15:55probably do this really easily and you
  481. 15:56probably have presets saved. So, take
  482. 15:58this demo with a grain of salt because
  483. 16:00if you are completely new to Blender,
  484. 16:02this is a really cool tool that can help
  485. 16:04you kind of understand like how
  486. 16:05animation works, how you can use AI to
  487. 16:08help you in your creative processes. But
  488. 16:10it's definitely not there. And again,
  489. 16:12this is only one prompt and there's
  490. 16:13definitely better ways to actually
  491. 16:15prompt Claude. I'm doing this demo in
  492. 16:17the perspective of someone who's new to
  493. 16:18Claude code, new to Blender, and just
  494. 16:21wants to play around with the tools and
  495. 16:22see how AI can interact in 3D
  496. 16:24environments with tools like Blender.
  497. 16:25So, take it with a grain of salt. This
  498. 16:28is just a demo to see, you know, is this
  499. 16:30possible? Okay, so it's saying there's a
  500. 16:32context issue with the operator. The
  501. 16:34workspace isn't a 3D viewport. So, it's
  502. 16:35going to skip over the operator base
  503. 16:37mode. And it just said it rebuilt it.
  504. 16:39So, in for the 5-second wave at 24 FPS,
  505. 16:42four wave swings spread over 2 seconds.
  506. 16:44Let's check it out. This is just after
  507. 16:46the first iteration. So, just remember,
  508. 16:48I gave it a really basic prompt to give
  509. 16:50us a wave animation. No references at
  510. 16:52all, but it did have references to the
  511. 16:54rig onto the character.
  512. 16:56Then I gave it a second iteration, which
  513. 16:58is a little bit more in-depth, but it's
  514. 17:01building on top of that. So, it's
  515. 17:02getting more used to the workspace. It's
  516. 17:04feeling around Blender to see, okay,
  517. 17:06this didn't work the first time, but
  518. 17:07this second iteration, let's see what we
  519. 17:09can do. Okay, so jumping into it, I
  520. 17:10could already see that the palm is
  521. 17:11facing forward, but let's actually play
  522. 17:13it from the beginning.
  523. 17:16Okay, not bad. Not bad. Second
  524. 17:19iteration, that ending was horrible,
  525. 17:20too. Um way too fast. But we actually
  526. 17:23flipped the hand. The hand is flipping
  527. 17:25up, facing forward, waving smoothly, and
  528. 17:28then placing the hand really fast down,
  529. 17:29which we can change in the next
  530. 17:31iteration. So, again, this is
  531. 17:34much better than the first output. We're
  532. 17:36starting to get some actual like life
  533. 17:39into the animation, which feels great.
  534. 17:42There's some stretching of like the
  535. 17:43actual model itself. Like it feels
  536. 17:45really unnatural. So, we'd have to fix
  537. 17:47that. But that's again, that's why we go
  538. 17:49back into Claude and we're We're
  539. 17:50constantly iterating, updating, and
  540. 17:51changing things so then Claude has this
  541. 17:54perfect output that we can save for
  542. 17:56later iterations. We can save this skill
  543. 17:58as say {slash} arm or {slash} wave. And
  544. 18:02when we call {slash} wave, it will apply
  545. 18:04that onto any character that we have.
  546. 18:06It'll run through the entire rig
  547. 18:08structure and then it will analyze it
  548. 18:10and build the actual wave. So, cool. So,
  549. 18:13the question that needs to be asked is
  550. 18:15can Claude animate in Blender? My
  551. 18:18immediate answer is no. And this is
  552. 18:20because it doesn't feel realistic. The
  553. 18:23human touch isn't there. Um as a human
  554. 18:25animator, you can really pinpoint exact
  555. 18:29animations um to a T. And Claude just
  556. 18:31can't do that with natural language yet.
  557. 18:34So, I would say Claude can get the
  558. 18:37basics done if you are if you have
  559. 18:38absolutely no experience in animation,
  560. 18:41you can definitely play around with it
  561. 18:42and you can get a good feel for like
  562. 18:45what animation is about using these
  563. 18:46models.
  564. 18:48Um building really simple things just
  565. 18:49like walking, jumping, waving. It's
  566. 18:51pretty easy stuff. Um and usually
  567. 18:53professional animators can do this in
  568. 18:54like seconds because they have presets,
  569. 18:56they've done this for years and years
  570. 18:57and years. So, no, I do not think Claude
  571. 19:00can animate perfectly inside of Blender.
  572. 19:04But I will say
  573. 19:05it is really cool to see a tool like
  574. 19:08this using AI. Me as someone who has
  575. 19:10absolutely no experience animating, I've
  576. 19:13played around in Blender a ton, I've had
  577. 19:14a ton of projects inside of Blender,
  578. 19:16never animated characters at all. So, it
  579. 19:19is cool to see like an AI tool build out
  580. 19:21a very simple animation. Um animating
  581. 19:23ligaments and movements and animations,
  582. 19:26all this type of stuff. So, I will say
  583. 19:28right now it's a really cool feature and
  584. 19:30you can use it as almost like a tutor to
  585. 19:32understand Blender better if you're a
  586. 19:33beginner. But I do recommend that you
  587. 19:35are like constantly learning the Blender
  588. 19:38foundations. You need to have a good
  589. 19:39understanding, especially if you're
  590. 19:40going into animating um and you are
  591. 19:42animating in Blender. I think it is
  592. 19:44important that you do have a full
  593. 19:45understanding of Blender, um but you can
  594. 19:47use Claude as a tool to help with your
  595. 19:50animation animation techniques or your
  596. 19:52sculpting techniques or building out
  597. 19:54scenes and environments which I've made
  598. 19:55videos on in the past. So, there's my
  599. 19:57answer. I don't think it's there yet,
  600. 20:00but just like the internet was in like
  601. 20:021997, that's kind of where we are right
  602. 20:04now with AI
  603. 20:06and I guess specifically with AI and 3D
  604. 20:08environments and 3D softwares like
  605. 20:10Blender. So, if you guys like AI content
  606. 20:12like this, feel free to subscribe. It
  607. 20:14means the world to me and drop some
  608. 20:15suggestions in the comments below. I am
  609. 20:17happy to cover anything and everything
  610. 20:19related to creative AI. So, thank you
  611. 20:21guys for sticking to the end and as
  612. 20:23always, I will see you guys in the next
  613. 20:24one.
