  1. 0:00people have decided that institutions
  2. 0:01don't matter because they're the only
  3. 0:02people on earth who matter you can see
  4. 0:05this philosophy carried out in policy
  5. 0:06not just in terms of social policy and
  6. 0:09sort of approach to social issues but
  7. 0:10the left-wing belief that exceptions
  8. 0:12ought to make the rules because after
  9. 0:14all the rules aren't great for everyone
  10. 0:16that belief system ends with some pretty
  11. 0:18pathetic ramifications for all of human
  12. 0:20society so for example california has
  13. 0:22now mandated that every big box store in
  14. 0:24california this kicked in in the new
  15. 0:26year every big toy store is required to
  16. 0:29create a gender-neutral toy section
  17. 0:31why
  18. 0:32why so the answer that people will give
  19. 0:34you is well you know we need a
  20. 0:35gender-neutral toy section for those
  21. 0:37kids who who are having trouble with
  22. 0:39their gender identity so what you're
  23. 0:41really saying is that gender doesn't
  24. 0:42exist and what you're really saying is
  25. 0:44there's no such thing as biological sex
  26. 0:46or human
  27. 0:48proclivities that are that are directed
  28. 0:50by biological sex or connected to it
  29. 0:52right that human tendencies are not
  30. 0:53connected to sex in any way we have to
  31. 0:55redefine sex across the biological
  32. 0:57spectrum to account for the fact that
  33. 0:59there are some people who feel
  34. 1:00uncomfortable a vast fast fast minority
  35. 1:02and this is not how you make socio
  36. 1:04societal rules right
  37. 1:07disassembling basic
  38. 1:09ideas of the reality of male and female
  39. 1:11that is not the way that you promote
  40. 1:13human happiness that is the way that you
  41. 1:14promote chaos
  42. 1:16and the the once again the left does not
  43. 1:18seem to care about the fact that male
  44. 1:19and female are pretty rigid categories
  45. 1:21biologically and say pretty i mean
  46. 1:23innately rigid categories
  47. 1:24and that human activities within those
  48. 1:26categories
  49. 1:28tend to fall along somewhat
  50. 1:29stereotypical lines and that that's not
  51. 1:31a bad thing that societally speaking
  52. 1:33that's quite a good thing that doesn't
  53. 1:35mean that there aren't exceptions to the
  54. 1:36rule we ought not treat those people
  55. 1:37with tolerance we should but that does
  56. 1:39not mean that you redefine gender
  57. 1:40entirely and yet this is seen as a
  58. 1:42positive good why because there are
  59. 1:43exceptions and we have to make sure that
  60. 1:45all of society is restructured in favor
  61. 1:47of this small group of people who have a
  62. 1:49problem with the societal institutions
  63. 1:51and there's a good thing by law again
  64. 1:54somebody fills the gap folks when you
  65. 1:55blow up the institutions something else
  66. 1:57fills the gap now it's compulsory
  67. 1:59government
  68. 2:00gender theory here we go there's a
  69. 2:02report from nbc news on the new
  70. 2:03california law
  71. 2:05this might seem like a silly piece of
  72. 2:07typical california politics but the
  73. 2:10truth is that big box toy stores across
  74. 2:12the country have been moving in this
  75. 2:13direction both walmart and target have
  76. 2:16done away with gendered toy sections and
  77. 2:19experts say that's good because gendered
  78. 2:22toys shape how children see themselves
  79. 2:24and each other
  80. 2:28yup
  81. 2:29who are these experts by the way are
  82. 2:30they experts who care about human
  83. 2:31flourishing absolutely not they're
  84. 2:33experts who don't care about the
  85. 2:34majority of children flourishing because
  86. 2:36it turns out that kids like gender roles
  87. 2:38okay this is by the way this is true in
  88. 2:40primates as well okay if you find it if
  89. 2:42you find female primates female primates
  90. 2:44will try to comfort and they'll turn
  91. 2:45random objects into dolls and they'll
  92. 2:47try to comfort them and male primates
  93. 2:48will turn everything into a weapon
  94. 2:50they will look for machines this is true
  95. 2:51for monkeys it's also true for human
  96. 2:53beings it turns out that gender roles
  97. 2:54are quite good for kids kids like rules
  98. 2:57kids like to be told that there are
  99. 2:59gender roles and that what they have are
  100. 3:02specifically created biological powers
  101. 3:04that merge with civilizational
  102. 3:06institutions that re-inculcate very
  103. 3:09important things about humanity that
  104. 3:10boys grow up to be men are supposed to
  105. 3:12be protectors and guardians and that
  106. 3:14girls grow up to be women are supposed
  107. 3:16to be creators and nurturers this does
  108. 3:17not mean that women can't also be
  109. 3:19protectors and guardians or that men
  110. 3:20can't also be nurturers it does mean
  111. 3:22that there are stereotypical attributes
  112. 3:24to masculinity and femininity which by
  113. 3:26the way even the trans community
  114. 3:27acknowledges which is why they attempt
  115. 3:29to adopt the stereotypical garb of the
  116. 3:31opposite sex in order to claim
  117. 3:32membership in it very often right have
  118. 3:34surgeries to effectuate that change
  119. 3:36the the
  120. 3:38but the experts say that the
  121. 3:39institutions are bad why are they bad i
  122. 3:41have a question why are they bad were
  123. 3:42there really a huge huge number of kids
  124. 3:45so deeply disaffected by societal
  125. 3:48institutions around gender like huge
  126. 3:50numbers of kids who walked into toy
  127. 3:51stores and just started weeping because
  128. 3:52the barbies were in the girls section
  129. 3:54and the guns the nerf guns were in the
  130. 3:55boys section were there like was it was
  131. 3:57this an overwhelming societal problem or
  132. 3:59was it that experts don't like the
  133. 4:01institutions because all institutions
  134. 4:03are militating factors in favor of
  135. 4:05civilizational
  136. 4:06things that are that are good and
  137. 4:09positive and they don't like the
  138. 4:10civilization itself
  139. 4:12and they want to remold the civilization
  140. 4:14itself who are these experts
  141. 4:15why why are they experts on kids what
  142. 4:17makes them an expert truly what what
  143. 4:20even makes them an expert on human
  144. 4:21happiness in order to direct policy you
  145. 4:22have to determine what is the good you
  146. 4:24are seeking with the policy for whom are
  147. 4:26you seeking this good it is pretty
  148. 4:28obvious here the good that they are
  149. 4:29seeking for society is tearing down
  150. 4:32rules because roles are inherently bad
  151. 4:33because we are all malleable widgets and
  152. 4:35if you get rid of societal roles you can
  153. 4:37remake humanity as essentially a piece
  154. 4:39of clay in the mold that you wish to
  155. 4:41remake it that is utopian nonsensical
  156. 4:43dream that always ends in tyranny always
  157. 4:45utopianism ends in tyranny
  158. 4:48there's a point that carl popper made
  159. 4:49and he happens to be correct
  160. 4:51it's not just with regard to things like
  161. 4:53gender
  162. 4:54and people why do you even care why
  163. 4:56the same reason you care the same reason
  164. 4:58you do you made a you made a law guys
  165. 5:01okay so you cared enough to make a law
  166. 5:02compelling toy stores to have gender
  167. 5:05neutral toy sections don't tell me i
  168. 5:06shouldn't care about that when you're
  169. 5:08openly saying you wish to remold society
  170. 5:09and destroy societal institutions
  171. 5:12who's got two thumbs and wants you to
