- 0:03balance and not finding it yeah you're
- 0:06not alone it seems that the trends for
- 0:08remote work options and increased
- 0:10vacation
- 0:11well it's not really improving life for
- 0:13a lot of people so here's how it's
- 0:15playing out by the numbers starting with
- 0:1757 of americans took a vacation in the
- 0:20last year that's actually the highest
- 0:23rate since 2009 and while that sounds
- 0:26like good news for this work-life
- 0:28balance 60 of professionals are working
- 0:32more
- 0:33on their vacation yeah 37 report logging
- 0:37on multiple times a day and that's up
- 0:39from 19 just a year ago
- 0:42also 63 of americans are taking shorter
- 0:45than usual vacations because
- 0:48they feel like they have too much work
- 0:50to do this is according to a consulting
- 0:53firm corn ferry and
- 0:56150 percent more time is being spent in
- 0:59meetings this is according to a
- 1:01microsoft accounting of its office
- 1:03software and app usage
- 1:05so office team chat messages are up 45
- 1:10and each person is sending 42
- 1:13more chats
- 1:14wow after hours when you're done working
- 1:17you're still doing it 40.6 billion more
- 1:20emails were sent in microsoft's outlook
- 1:22system in 2021 than the year before and
- 1:2662 of this barrage of communications
- 1:29is unstructured and unplanned yet
- 1:33a five minute or less average response
- 1:37time is
- 1:38unchanged certainly an indicator of
- 1:41workers doing more doing it faster feels
- 1:44like it never runs for many touted
- 1:46flexible work options might be feeling a
- 1:48little bit more like you know work from
- 1:50everywhere all the time requirements we
- 1:53can relate
