  1. 0:00about a week ago Charles and I went to
  2. 0:02go have a fun Monday night flying tiny
  3. 0:04whoops in a classroom and the video went
  4. 0:07crazy everyone's saying how do you build
  5. 0:09a drone like that where are the parts
  6. 0:10can you buy this ready to fly how did
  7. 0:12you do that blah blah blah blah blah
  8. 0:13blah blah and I wanted to show you
  9. 0:15exactly that Charles is here at the 533
  10. 0:18shop and is going to show us where to
  11. 0:20get the parts how to build it what tune
  12. 0:22to use what do you need to cut the frame
  13. 0:24do you need to buy certain 3D prints do
  14. 0:27you need to spy buy special batteries
  15. 0:28all the tips and tricks you're going to
  16. 0:30learn today to build a whoop that can do
  17. 0:33exactly what we were doing in that video
  18. 0:36Tiny whoops are becoming more and more
  19. 0:37popular the performance that tiny whoops
  20. 0:39are able to achieve has increased
  21. 0:42significantly over the last few years
  22. 0:43and it boggled my mind even from flying
  23. 0:45whoops just a couple years ago to now
  24. 0:47and Charles is truly the master of it so
  25. 0:49we're going to get to learn a lot from
  26. 0:51him we're going to hop inside pick up
  27. 0:53all the parts from the 533 store go
  28. 0:55build one and ask some questions along
  29. 0:57the way also drop some questions in the
  30. 0:59comments M if you have them that we
  31. 1:01don't address in this video and I hope
  32. 1:03you guys are as excited as I am to learn
  33. 1:05about how to build a fast tiny whip for
  34. 1:07yourself we have Charles here who's
  35. 1:09going to give us all the tips but first
  36. 1:11things first we need to go actually grab
  37. 1:13the parts I'm going to put the parts up
  38. 1:16on the screen as well as in the
  39. 1:18description we all the links and prices
  40. 1:19and stuff as we go along but we're going
  41. 1:22to pick them off here and Charles will
  42. 1:23trying to explain why he goes with each
  43. 1:25one so go for it awesome so we're going
  44. 1:27to go with the meteor uh 65 air frame
  45. 1:30today that's the newest 65 mil frame
  46. 1:33from BET FV and the air is very
  47. 1:35important right cuz that's the liir the
  48. 1:37new lighter version okay uh today we're
  49. 1:40also going to go with the beta fpv uh 5
  50. 1:43aamp AIO it is the Els version it is the
  51. 1:46light version without any plugs so elrs
  52. 1:49built in yes okay elrs A Serial ears
  53. 1:52elrs receiver built in that's nice the
  54. 1:55uh beta uh beta FV CO3 camera this one's
  55. 1:58uh I I really enjoy this camera but the
  56. 2:00tiny wood pinch is also one of my
  57. 2:01favorites okay so we're going to go with
  58. 2:030702 motors today I know people like
  59. 2:060802 0702 um but 0702 is much lighter
  60. 2:09and um with the right KV I think they
  61. 2:11fly really good what KV uh 27,000 27,000
  62. 2:15okay I think anything above 26,000 is
  63. 2:17what I prefer gotcha the specific one is
  64. 2:20the one without any bearings um it
  65. 2:22doesn't quite last as long but in my
  66. 2:24experience they last plenty long and
  67. 2:26they're lighter oh really yeah the
  68. 2:28bearing without bearing are much lighter
  69. 2:30okay and then just a quick question is
  70. 2:31about whoops in general but what do you
  71. 2:33think the optimal weight like what do
  72. 2:36you think this weight of this whoop is
  73. 2:38going to be it's not going to be super
  74. 2:39crazy but what do you think like a a
  75. 2:42good weight for whoop is for it to be
  76. 2:44reasonably perform reasonbly well I
  77. 2:46think a good rule of thumb is anything
  78. 2:48under 18 G okay without battery without
  79. 2:51battery and I expect this spill to be
  80. 2:53around 17 and a half around there more
  81. 2:55or less okay he called a shot we're
  82. 2:57going to see um but the things we don't
  83. 3:00have here our props and then you're
  84. 3:02going to we don't have batteries here as
  85. 3:03well but we'll put links and all that
  86. 3:04stuff as well uh but the HQ you use
  87. 3:07which props and batteries do you use I
  88. 3:09use the HQ ultra light 31 mil props and
  89. 3:12right now I'm using the we bed uh 300 Mo
  90. 3:15perfect okay well we're going to sit
  91. 3:16down and try and give it's not
  92. 3:19necessarily a build video but tips and
  93. 3:21tricks along the way as to all the stuff
  94. 3:24Charles does to make his whoops perform
  95. 3:26at the very best first things first
  96. 3:28explain all the different tools if
  97. 3:31someone were to start building a whoop
  98. 3:32because these are tools that I don't
  99. 3:33have for building 5in quads or any other
  100. 3:35types of drones what kind of tools and
  101. 3:37glues and drivers do you have to even
  102. 3:40start building a a high quality tiny
  103. 3:42woop um right here I think this is one
  104. 3:44of the most important things it is a uh
  105. 3:47Phillips head screwdriver um I think I
  106. 3:50can't remember the size but the size is
  107. 3:52right there okay this one just fits all
  108. 3:53the Phillips head screws okay and
  109. 3:55Phillips is like the motor screws and
  110. 3:57like the everything everything
  111. 3:58everything pretty much I love a pair of
  112. 4:00tweezers okay um I think 5 in it's good
  113. 4:03for 5 in but it's also good for whoops
  114. 4:05especially good for whoops and then
  115. 4:07these are some stuff that I can use
  116. 4:08along the way E6000 and t7000 I got
  117. 4:12these at witopia actually is it Like
  118. 4:13Glue yeah so this one is a rubber glue
  119. 4:15and this one's kind of like an epoxy
  120. 4:17glue okay and so why would you need that
  121. 4:19this one is to do repairs on frames and
  122. 4:22this one is to like hold antennas down
  123. 4:24this is to like keep the camera in place
  124. 4:26yeah okay and make sure to get the one
  125. 4:29with the really
  126. 4:31thin needle
  127. 4:33heads interesting and those are super
  128. 4:37you're
  129. 4:37shaking too much red
  130. 4:40bull and uh yeah I'm just highly
  131. 4:42impressed with these little products
  132. 4:44okay and then this is my it's one of my
  133. 4:46prize possessions right here what's this
  134. 4:49thing called again it is called the Omni
  135. 4:51fixo I think it's the X4 it just means
  136. 4:53it has four of these little prongs okay
  137. 4:55but super high quality third hand way
  138. 4:58better than any of the like clamp ones
  139. 4:59that you'll get okay um just cuz and
  140. 5:02it's nice for whoops cuz they're so
  141. 5:03small oh yeah dude it makes things so
  142. 5:05much easier highly recommend and then
  143. 5:06what about soldering iron and stuff cuz
  144. 5:08I know we're going to be doing it looks
  145. 5:09like some pretty small precise soldering
  146. 5:11yeah typically you'd want a really thin
  147. 5:13soldering iron really thin solder but
  148. 5:16I'm just using typical stuff and we that
  149. 5:18looks like really thick SI and we'll
  150. 5:19work with it okay gotcha um okay well
  151. 5:22what first all right
  152. 5:25um let's see first let's get this Frame
  153. 5:28out I'm really impressed with this Frame
  154. 5:30cuz not only is it
  155. 5:32lighter but the wheel base or like the
  156. 5:35Ducks are actually a little wider M and
  157. 5:37so on the old ones like if you bent a
  158. 5:39prop if you bent the the Ducks it would
  159. 5:42start touching the propeller but these
  160. 5:43ones um give so much more wiggle room
  161. 5:46makes the prop chip a lot less
  162. 5:48interesting yeah and now if as far as if
  163. 5:51you were to make frame modifications or
  164. 5:53anything like that like some people do
  165. 5:55would you do it at the beginning of the
  166. 5:56build or do you usually Finish the build
  167. 5:57and then like cut it anything or is this
  168. 6:00a frame that you don't you wouldn't do
  169. 6:01that on um if I were to make some
  170. 6:03modifications it' probably just be after
  171. 6:05okay gotcha so big important part uh
  172. 6:08plastic screws B FV comes with plastic
  173. 6:10screws which is super nice and that's
  174. 6:13just to be lighter and things like that
  175. 6:15yeah it's a it saves about half a gram
  176. 6:17compared to like metal screws D yeah I
  177. 6:20think the biggest thing like cuz I think
  178. 6:22somebody's going to hear that be like
  179. 6:23you're you're doing all that to save
  180. 6:25half a gram but the important thing is
  181. 6:26it's a lot of little half a gram things
  182. 6:29different abely and so it's that's what
  183. 6:31adds up over time especially where the
  184. 6:33whoop like half a gr is a significant
  185. 6:35percentage in comparon to like a 5 in or
  186. 6:37something um so those little half gram
  187. 6:40differences really can add up and make
  188. 6:42for a much better performing whoop which
  189. 6:44again that's what we're going for um is
  190. 6:47a whoop that can really perform like it
  191. 6:48did uh in that video of us flying in the
  192. 6:51classroom all right so first thing we're
  193. 6:53going to do is we're going to cut off
  194. 6:54the motor plugs you cut it right at the
  195. 6:55end there yep right at the end and if
  196. 6:57you had an aiio that had plugs you could
  197. 6:59just plug them in but that's way heavier
  198. 7:02yeah do you think it reduces power at
  199. 7:03all or compared to direct solder or you
  200. 7:06think it's just a weight thing it's just
  201. 7:07a weight thing for me cool question I
  202. 7:10had like the frame came with these
  203. 7:11little triangular things yeah so the
  204. 7:14frame came with these triangular things
  205. 7:15and I see some little triangular spaces
  206. 7:18there do you use these or no so where
  207. 7:20the motor mounts on the new frame is a
  208. 7:22little thinner than the old frame so if
  209. 7:24you have like longer screws and it
  210. 7:26touches the windings you can use spacers
  211. 7:28but you don't need them no not for this
  212. 7:29build gotta gotcha so you're going to
  213. 7:31cut the plug off the camera too yeah
  214. 7:33we're going to direct solder the camera
  215. 7:34onto there so there's there's pretty
  216. 7:36much nothing that plugs in oh yeah for
  217. 7:37sure okay I I think it ends up being
  218. 7:39more durable too so as someone who's a
  219. 7:42beginner Builder you would probably
  220. 7:44recommend going with a ready to fly like
  221. 7:47you don't think like this soldering is
  222. 7:48is you would consider this pretty
  223. 7:49Advanced I would say so it's easy to get
  224. 7:51wrong it's easy to mess up and you said
  225. 7:53that some people maybe had problems with
  226. 7:55these beta fpv boards before but you've
  227. 7:57never had problems and you like cuz
  228. 7:59you're you're definitely a very careful
  229. 8:00and tedious solder maybe I've just been
  230. 8:02lucky maybe who knows but but like if
  231. 8:04you become sloppy with solder then it
  232. 8:06can cause more failures 100% I would say
  233. 8:08these boards are not as resilient to
  234. 8:10heat so yeah oh so if you're sitting
  235. 8:13there just going at it yeah it could be
  236. 8:14tough so if you're a beginner watching
  237. 8:16this we are going to offer ready to
  238. 8:18flies that uh I think potentially are
  239. 8:20going to be built by Charles um or
  240. 8:22another again experience Builder and if
  241. 8:26you don't feel if you don't have a lot
  242. 8:27of experience on maybe bigger drones or
  243. 8:29other tiny whoops this is just something
  244. 8:30to keep in mind if you're building a
  245. 8:31very high performing whoop is that
  246. 8:33there's going to be a lot of soldering
  247. 8:34it's not all going to plug together if
  248. 8:35you want to get to the weight that we're
  249. 8:36trying to get too one thing I like to do
  250. 8:39with these motor wires is when I strip
  251. 8:41them I usually just strip it with my
  252. 8:42fingernails but I like to get as little
  253. 8:45metal showing as possible just so that
  254. 8:48like there's
  255. 8:49no um bends or like uh basically the
  256. 8:53rubber goes straight up to the solder
  257. 8:55joint that way you're not going to have
  258. 8:56any like let me see show me an example
  259. 8:59here here let me get I would say those
  260. 9:01are perfect that length right there let
  261. 9:04me just do this come on okay so just a
  262. 9:08very small that's all you need that's
  263. 9:10all you need and then what would if you
  264. 9:11had them too much then what would be the
  265. 9:13downside you said they might break off
  266. 9:15yeah it would just like it wouldn't
  267. 9:16provide as much uh stress relief around
  268. 9:19the joint gotcha so just barely strip
  269. 9:22the wires
  270. 9:24there so one little tip is um when
  271. 9:28you're starting the motors on you want
  272. 9:29want to solder them from the top side
  273. 9:31that way if you break a motor you can
  274. 9:32still get to the joints um and put
  275. 9:34another motor on that is a good tip so
  276. 9:36USB on the bottom solder to the top of
  277. 9:39the pad solder to the top of the pad and
  278. 9:41then this is probably where like someone
  279. 9:44like AK or TG would take off this um BT
  280. 9:482.0 connector and they instead of
  281. 9:50routing it from the bottom they would
  282. 9:52route it from the top and that gives it
  283. 9:54shorter length to the battery so that's
  284. 9:56that's where they save a little bit more
  285. 9:57weight interesting yeah yeah I think
  286. 9:59it'd be nice to see one Charles and I
  287. 10:02talked before this and what we want to
  288. 10:04do is find something that
  289. 10:07is what what would you say like suain
  290. 10:10we're not trying yeah sustainable like
  291. 10:12we're trying to find a good way to build
  292. 10:13a really good whoop like the best bang
  293. 10:16for your buck the best flying quad for
  294. 10:18the least amount of time type thing so
  295. 10:19something that still is very competitive
  296. 10:21and still perform really good without
  297. 10:23having to go through step after step
  298. 10:24after step and it's also when you do
  299. 10:27make some of these modifications it's
  300. 10:28going to become less durable or there's
  301. 10:30going to be more chances for failure and
  302. 10:32things like that so what Charles and I
  303. 10:34really appreciate it his focus is is on
  304. 10:37finding the the best performing whoop
  305. 10:39that can last the longest and it's
  306. 10:41easiest to maintain and things like that
  307. 10:43so you'll find him talk sometimes about
  308. 10:45if you were to go the extra distance it
  309. 10:47would be to do this but we're trying to
  310. 10:49find a a happy medium and that's what
  311. 10:51Charles really focused
  312. 10:55on go for it so yeah I've just 10 up
  313. 10:59these joints or these pads and you just
  314. 11:02want the slightest bit amount of solder
  315. 11:03on them and make sure they're all shiny
  316. 11:06okay so shiny and not too much solder
  317. 11:08and you're just going quick in quick out
  318. 11:10oh yeah I'm barely tapping these joints
  319. 11:12so let's solder up one of these
  320. 11:22motors wow that was good you just barely
  321. 11:25touched it too oh
  322. 11:27barely just getting up people are going
  323. 11:29to see how much I
  324. 11:34shake just like that mhm and the reason
  325. 11:37that's so important is because if you
  326. 11:39soak too much heat into the Border
  327. 11:40that's when it can damage or failures so
  328. 11:44much more yeah
  329. 11:52common yeah one down four more to go
  330. 11:55three
  331. 11:56more I'd say that looks pretty dang good
  332. 12:00and you so you solder it on the top of
  333. 12:01the board it's fast in and fast out what
  334. 12:03was your soldering iron temperature if
  335. 12:04you don't mind do you
  336. 12:07know uh 370 370 C and just in and out
  337. 12:12you just cut the plugs off go to town
  338. 12:14end very little and this is the result
  339. 12:17you get I think it looks great do you
  340. 12:18worry do you just solder them straight
  341. 12:19do you twist or try and cross or you
  342. 12:21just I just sold them straight on okay
  343. 12:23gotcha we forgot to grab the VTX earlier
  344. 12:26but in this video we're going to be
  345. 12:27using the UniFi Pro
  346. 12:2932 Charles said this one is a little bit
  347. 12:33heavier um if someone were to go with a
  348. 12:35different btx that may be a little
  349. 12:36lighter what would that be the TBS Nano
  350. 12:39oh okay and then the foxier Nano okay
  351. 12:42it's time to make the antenna it comes
  352. 12:45with a linear antenna but you just
  353. 12:47chopped it off why' you chop it off so
  354. 12:49I'm trying to make it as light as
  355. 12:50possible and so what I'm going to do is
  356. 12:52I'm going to basically peel back this
  357. 12:54she thing or whatever okay and
  358. 12:59but you can't you have to do it to a
  359. 13:01certain length correct right so I'm
  360. 13:02going to make it long and then I'm going
  361. 13:03to cut it to the right
  362. 13:05length that's yeah this is very delicate
  363. 13:07you're going to want to just roll the
  364. 13:10razor blade over the black
  365. 13:18rubber there we go whoa and so here's
  366. 13:21the here's a little trick you're going
  367. 13:22to want to peel back the metal instead
  368. 13:24of trying to cut around the element how
  369. 13:27do you do that seems like a lot of this
  370. 13:29whoop stuff is a lot of patience there
  371. 13:31we go kind of pull back
  372. 13:33on so yeah Bunch it up around the base
  373. 13:36need some Snips to cut it right off the
  374. 13:38metal part yep
  375. 13:41okay see yeah it's bunched
  376. 13:52up so it's start starting to come off
  377. 13:55right M now you can clean it up more so
  378. 13:58basically go
  379. 13:59around snip off all the metal that you
  380. 14:01don't
  381. 14:03need and mean that just leaves you the
  382. 14:05core like the element the white part and
  383. 14:09then you have to cut the white part the
  384. 14:11exposed white part to a very specific
  385. 14:13length yeah I think it's 12.8 mm
  386. 14:16according to Oscar liang's
  387. 14:19blog so he's just using one of his other
  388. 14:21tnas antennas to reference it cuz we
  389. 14:24don't have something that precise here
  390. 14:26right now and this will work just fine
  391. 14:28and you would say it doesn't have to be
  392. 14:29like exact it it be fine say I'm pretty
  393. 14:32sure it's like um you just cut it to the
  394. 14:35length that it's right in the middle of
  395. 14:37our 5.8 band or like our race band yeah
  396. 14:41and so that is the tiny whoop way to
  397. 14:44make a nice short antenna and so you
  398. 14:46just took a normal linear antenna cut it
  399. 14:48off did some modifications and that will
  400. 14:50save you a couple grams and just another
  401. 14:51way to get your whoop a little bit
  402. 14:53lighter out of my own curiosity we're
  403. 14:55going to see the weight savings that
  404. 14:58work did so if you put all the pieces on
  405. 15:02there that thing weighed 77 G but if you
  406. 15:05remove this you remove
  407. 15:08this and you remove the metal this is
  408. 15:11what we're left with that saved over
  409. 15:13half a gram 57 oh my gosh went from 77
  410. 15:17to 2 wow that's more than I thought so
  411. 15:22that really saves a lot there for you
  412. 15:25that's pretty cool so you wired up your
  413. 15:26VTX yep and are you heat shrink it are
  414. 15:29you I assume that takes up a lot of
  415. 15:31weight how are you going to secure it
  416. 15:33yeah so just a little bit of VHB on the
  417. 15:34back make sure you don't get any like
  418. 15:36fingerprints on it or any like resid
  419. 15:39residue on it just stick it down once
  420. 15:42and make sure the UFL isn't in the
  421. 15:44direct Center so that the UFL doesn't
  422. 15:47get uh hit by the battery oh and so I
  423. 15:50put it off to the side a little
  424. 15:52bit just press it down one this is on
  425. 15:54the USB side of the
  426. 15:56AIO not directly in the middle I've
  427. 15:58never had a VTX come off since so yeah
  428. 16:00this is where some people can get super
  429. 16:02crazy with like whoop wire it's like the
  430. 16:05thinnest wire you can get and they cut
  431. 16:07it as short as
  432. 16:09possible and that can save you some more
  433. 16:11weight but it's just not fun to deal
  434. 16:14with I'm sure I just use the regular
  435. 16:15stuff cuz I have it on hand yeah you
  436. 16:17routed your VTX wires as as short as
  437. 16:20reasonably possible you said some people
  438. 16:22use super light like whoop wire and
  439. 16:24stuff you just use normal wire soldered
  440. 16:27around there again super super clean
  441. 16:29joints and then just routed from the VTX
  442. 16:31all the way around and through yeah the
  443. 16:33trickiest part is you're going to have
  444. 16:34to double up on the 5vt pads right here
  445. 16:36oh um to get the camera on there okay so
  446. 16:39you'll have to solder for power and
  447. 16:41ground and then video will be somewhere
  448. 16:42else for sure yeah um okay well that
  449. 16:44sounds
  450. 16:45tricky there's only one 5vt pad on that
  451. 16:48thing yeah oh that's annoying see we get
  452. 16:51this on the frame
  453. 16:52now oh what is the front of the whoop
  454. 16:55frame I've heard this was like an
  455. 16:56argument at some point oh I don't care
  456. 16:59you don't I just put the arrow at the
  457. 17:01front Arrow at the front oh okay he's an
  458. 17:03arrow at the front but that but that was
  459. 17:05by chance you heard it there first dude
  460. 17:06that one too over there oh at the front
  461. 17:09too I think that's what you are I feel
  462. 17:12like a jeweler would be very good at
  463. 17:16building do you ever have any problem
  464. 17:18stripping these or like how tight do you
  465. 17:19put these on um is that ever like a
  466. 17:22thing you have to worry about yeah so
  467. 17:24you don't want to go too tight you just
  468. 17:26once you feel the slightest bit of
  469. 17:27resistance go a little bit more and
  470. 17:29that's it okay gotcha I remember you
  471. 17:31used to say in your build videos tight
  472. 17:33and then a half turn tight yeah exactly
  473. 17:35it's kind of similar story I would say
  474. 17:36like just a little bit less than that in
  475. 17:38like like a quarter turn or something
  476. 17:39like that like a little bit um just size
  477. 17:41it down to scale yeah you this is a it's
  478. 17:43a common sense thing cuz these are
  479. 17:45plastic screws um but yeah I think
  480. 17:47that's probably good rule of them just
  481. 17:48little I will say they can break on
  482. 17:51concrete tile hardwood floor but on
  483. 17:54carpet they'll last forever and that
  484. 17:57this is something Charles and I have
  485. 17:58talked before but when practice if
  486. 17:59you're trying to find the perfect tiny
  487. 18:01whoop practice area like a gym floor or
  488. 18:04something that's great but if you can
  489. 18:05find a carpeted place even like really
  490. 18:07thin carpet oh my gosh it's amazing how
  491. 18:11much more durable cuz I remember me and
  492. 18:12you practiced like a year ago on
  493. 18:14hardwood and broke like everything we
  494. 18:16own oh yeah I was so perplexed but then
  495. 18:20when we practiced on carpet like you
  496. 18:22could go full throttle and everything
  497. 18:23and never break uh so that's just like a
  498. 18:26durability tip that you wouldn't think
  499. 18:27like carpet's not going to make that
  500. 18:28much of difference but it does so much
  501. 18:31uh which I think is
  502. 18:32interesting you have the motors Mount
  503. 18:34you put all the motor screws in you
  504. 18:36don't have the VT or you have the VTX on
  505. 18:38there yeah do we need antenna you think
  506. 18:40maybe a good practice prob here we go
  507. 18:43here's your antenna got the aiio mounted
  508. 18:46got the rece or the motors soldered up
  509. 18:49and mounted and Charles says before we
  510. 18:51move on it's probably a good idea to
  511. 18:53just plug into betaf flight make sure
  512. 18:54the motors spin up and all those things
  513. 18:56you said even before the build it may be
  514. 18:58a good practice to just plug in your AIO
  515. 19:00and make sure it works before you do any
  516. 19:02soldering gotcha and that way if there
  517. 19:05is an R of any kind you can say I
  518. 19:07haven't soldered at all to this and
  519. 19:10there's a problem the gyro is not
  520. 19:11showing up whatever I think that's
  521. 19:12probably just good practice or a good
  522. 19:14tip for fpv or any parts in general if
  523. 19:16you get an ESC or a flight controller or
  524. 19:18anything just plug it in make sure
  525. 19:19everything looks like it's working
  526. 19:21before you move forward because that
  527. 19:22makes it so much easier on the supplier
  528. 19:23manufacturer to say hey our bad we'll
  529. 19:25replace it and so forth um so just a
  530. 19:28general tip for
  531. 19:30fpv okay looks like everything's
  532. 19:32lighting up looks like you got movement
  533. 19:33and beta
  534. 19:37flight plug it in a
  535. 19:39battery there we go they're so quiet so
  536. 19:42quiet all four Motors are spinning up
  537. 19:44fantastic perfect and then do you change
  538. 19:46dshot 300 do you do bidirectional dshot
  539. 19:49uh we'll worry about that later okay so
  540. 19:50you solder up the camera had to double
  541. 19:52solder the 5 Vol in the ground and then
  542. 19:54now we're using this Mount that you
  543. 19:56really like is it this is on the 523
  544. 19:57store but you can also get it on like
  545. 19:58pral or something or thingaverse where
  546. 20:01did you find this I found this on thing
  547. 20:02averse okay gotcha and this build is
  548. 20:05going to be 40 degree yes 40 degre but
  549. 20:07on the on 533 or even on thing reverse
  550. 20:11it should go from like 30 32 35 37 40°
  551. 20:14tilt and it sounds like from what I've
  552. 20:16heard that that's kind of the standard
  553. 20:18for most people the Tilt most people run
  554. 20:20when racing so in the video that you
  555. 20:22guys saw I was running 40 Charles is
  556. 20:24running somewhere around 40 and that's
  557. 20:27just what we like for that type of
  558. 20:29flying uh for the screws for the flight
  559. 20:32controller do you run those through the
  560. 20:35mount yes okay and these ones I use
  561. 20:38metal ones at least to tap the uh the
  562. 20:41threads into the frame and then you
  563. 20:43switch to plastic and then I'll switch
  564. 20:44to plastic if I feel like it gotcha I'm
  565. 20:48excited to see how much this puppy
  566. 20:49weighs what's your guess right now out
  567. 20:50of all the things you did
  568. 20:52O I don't know how much this uh Mount
  569. 20:55weighs okay
  570. 20:57but
  571. 20:59if this one was 17.25 without the
  572. 21:02antenna mod without the antenna
  573. 21:05mod I'm still going to say around
  574. 21:0717.25 just because of this uh mounts
  575. 21:11okay that is a Charles Wong built tiny
  576. 21:13I think it looks so good heck yeah
  577. 21:16all right let's go over the way make
  578. 21:18sure there's no
  579. 21:27cuts
  580. 21:30all right I'm going to say
  581. 21:3317.6 survey
  582. 21:36says
  583. 21:39oh right in the middle right in the
  584. 21:41middle that's a cinder the last thing
  585. 21:44that's important is beta flight ESC
  586. 21:47settings whatever that to get the
  587. 21:49ultimate performing whoop and then I've
  588. 21:52for all the people in the comments who
  589. 21:53always say I don't put the diff in the
  590. 21:54comments which I don't usually I get
  591. 21:56late or I get lazy I'm going to try and
  592. 21:58be really good about putting the
  593. 22:00description the diff all that stuff out
  594. 22:02here so that everything's easy to find
  595. 22:04including the tune including the preset
  596. 22:06including the ESC settings I want to be
  597. 22:08able to get to the end of this video and
  598. 22:10you to understand exactly what you need
  599. 22:12to do to either build your own or if
  600. 22:13you're modifying one of your others or
  601. 22:14your friends they can get this exact
  602. 22:16same performance I actually use a little
  603. 22:18bag oh that one correct that one's
  604. 22:22wrong so I'm going to guess two is uh
  605. 22:25sorry one is wrong as well
  606. 22:29so that one's correct correct correct
  607. 22:33correct nice what about dshot um
  608. 22:38stuff so with the BMI gyro you're going
  609. 22:41to have yeah 32 khz Max so people
  610. 22:45typically use
  611. 22:47300 dshot okay got still plenty fast
  612. 22:50yeah as the tune and
  613. 22:52everything are you're not going to
  614. 22:54change much I'll be honest I use the
  615. 22:55stock tune from beta fpv the stock tune
  616. 22:58that just came with the board but I
  617. 23:00changed filters around okay and one day
  618. 23:03I'll do like a full like pit toolbox
  619. 23:05tune okay for these little whoops but
  620. 23:07the tune is going to be the diff is
  621. 23:09going to be in the description of the
  622. 23:10video and it's nothing nothing fancy
  623. 23:12nothing crazy the tune that we use is
  624. 23:13going to be in the description of the
  625. 23:14video and you can put on any of your
  626. 23:16whoops we're not going to guarantee it
  627. 23:17works with your specific whoop if you do
  628. 23:20go with this group of parts and you
  629. 23:22build it to Charles the spec of course
  630. 23:23it will or if you do any of the ready to
  631. 23:25flies they're also in the description
  632. 23:27then it they should come preset with
  633. 23:29this tune and if there's any problems
  634. 23:30that's kind of the benefit of the ready
  635. 23:31to fly system is that we check if the
  636. 23:34parts all work out of the box we make
  637. 23:36sure flies get out of the box we tune it
  638. 23:37out of the box and all that stuff but if
  639. 23:39you go with your own then we give you
  640. 23:40all the tools and the assets to do that
  641. 23:43as well we just can't give you as much
  642. 23:46Hands-On customer service help if we're
  643. 23:48not the ones building it but it's good
  644. 23:50to have both options um I Charles is
  645. 23:52binding it up right now and since it's
  646. 23:55not an SPI receiver you still just plug
  647. 23:56it in wait 60 seconds for elrs to go
  648. 23:58into Wi-Fi mode put your bind phrase on
  649. 24:01and then go fly can't see
  650. 24:05it look at that beauty so the diff in
  651. 24:08the description has Charles's rates
  652. 24:09Charles's tune if you follow hope this
  653. 24:13video was helpful thanks so much to
  654. 24:14Charles for all of his tips we're going
  655. 24:16to do one last look at the quad again
  656. 24:18all the build uh list is in the
  657. 24:21description all the Tunes in the
  658. 24:22description and you're going to get a
  659. 24:24quad that looks just like this I'm
  660. 24:26really happy with how it looks and you
  661. 24:28can have one to either ready to fly or
  662. 24:30part it out thanks to
  663. 24:35Charles awesome thanks for watching guys
  664. 24:37I'll see you later bye okay
