- 0:00ladies and
- 0:01gentlemen imagine walking into a
- 0:03workplace where people don't just show
- 0:05up to do a job but come because they
- 0:07believe in what they're doing a place
- 0:09where they feel safe valued and inspired
- 0:11that kind of environment doesn't happen
- 0:13by accident it's built culture is not
- 0:16posters on the wall it's not free coffee
- 0:19fancy perks or mission statements that
- 0:21no one remembers culture is the way
- 0:24people feel when they come to work it's
- 0:26how they treat each other when no one's
- 0:28looking it's the unwritten rules that
- 0:30guide decisions when things get tough a
- 0:33great culture is one where people don't
- 0:35feel like they have to come to work but
- 0:37want to and when people feel like they
- 0:39belong they give their best so how do
- 0:42you build that kind of culture it starts
- 0:44at the top leadership is not about being
- 0:47in charge it's about taking care of the
- 0:49people in your charge When leaders
- 0:51create an environment where trust is the
- 0:53foundation people feel safe and when
- 0:55people feel safe they take risks they
- 0:57innovate and they push boundaries not
- 1:00because they're told to but because they
- 1:01want to trust is built in small moments
- 1:06it's the leader who checks in on their
- 1:07team not just to ask about deadlines but
- 1:10to ask how are you it's the manager who
- 1:12listens instead of waiting for their
- 1:14turn to talk it's the CEO who admits
- 1:17mistakes and shows vulnerability When
- 1:19leaders lead with authenticity they give
- 1:21permission for others to do the same and
- 1:24when people feel safe enough to be
- 1:25themselves real culture begins to form
- 1:29but trust alone isn't enough a strong
- 1:32culture also requires a clear purpose
- 1:34people don't stay engaged just because
- 1:36they're paid well they stay because they
- 1:38believe in what they're doing when
- 1:40people have a sense of purpose they stop
- 1:42working for a company and start working
- 1:44with it they aren't just employees they
- 1:46become part of something bigger than
- 1:48themselves that purpose has to be clear
- 1:50and it has to be repeated over and over
- 1:52again people forget mission statements
- 1:55written in a corporate document but they
- 1:57remember stories a great leader tells
- 1:59stories that connect people to the
- 2:00bigger picture they don't just say we
- 2:02build products they say we change lives
- 2:04they don't just say we sell a service
- 2:06they say we solve problems that matter
- 2:09when people understand why their work
- 2:11matters they put their heart into it but
- 2:13even with trust and purpose a culture
- 2:15won't Thrive without one more key
- 2:17element
- 2:19belonging people need to feel like they
- 2:21are part of a team that means creating
- 2:23an environment where they can be open
- 2:25honest and vulnerable without fear a
- 2:27culture of belonging is built in small
- 2:29moments when a leader recognizes
- 2:31someone's contribution when a team
- 2:33celebrates wins together when people
- 2:36feel safe enough to share their ideas
- 2:37without fear of being judged it's also
- 2:40about accountability a strong culture
- 2:42isn't just about being nice it's about
- 2:44setting high standards and holding each
- 2:46other to them great teams challenge each
- 2:48other they push each other to be better
- 2:51but they do it with respect with care
- 2:53and with the understanding that growth
- 2:55happens when people feel supported a
- 2:57company's culture isn't built in a day
- 3:00and it doesn't come from one person it's
- 3:02the result of every action every
- 3:04decision and every moment of leadership
- 3:07it's created when people feel safe when
- 3:09they believe in what they're doing and
- 3:11when they feel like they belong when
- 3:13that happens people don't just work
- 3:15harder they work with passion with
- 3:17commitment and with a sense of purpose
- 3:19and when a company has a strong culture
- 3:21success isn't just a possibility it's
- 3:24inevitable a strong company culture
- 3:26isn't about perks or mission statements
- 3:28it's about creating an envir enironment
- 3:30where people feel valued safe and
- 3:32inspired culture starts at the top
- 3:35leaders must create trust show
- 3:37vulnerability and take care of their
- 3:38people fostering an environment where
- 3:40employees feel secure and motivated
- 3:43employees don't stay committed because
- 3:44of money alone they stay because they
- 3:46believe in what they're doing a clear
- 3:48and compelling purpose keeps them
- 3:50engaged when employees feel like they
- 3:52are truly part of a team where their
- 3:54contributions are recognized and their
- 3:56voices matter they work with greater
- 3:58passion and commitment great culture
- 4:00isn't just about being supportive it's
- 4:02also about challenging each other to
- 4:03grow holding high standards and pushing
- 4:06the team forward with respect and care
- 4:08culture is built not given it doesn't
- 4:11happen by accident and it certainly
- 4:13isn't something that can be forced it is
- 4:15shaped by every decision every
- 4:17interaction and every moment of
- 4:18leadership a great company culture is
- 4:20not about what is written in a handbook
- 4:23it is about how people feel when they
- 4:25walk into work every day it is about the
- 4:28energy in the room the way colleagues
- 4:30treat one another and the sense of
- 4:32purpose that fuels the work being done
- 4:35many organizations make the mistake of
- 4:37assuming that culture is simply a set of
- 4:39values written on a website or a mission
- 4:41statement posted on the wall they
- 4:43believe that if they say the right words
- 4:45people will naturally align with them
- 4:47but culture is not what a company says
- 4:49it is what a company does it is
- 4:51reflected in the daily behaviors the
- 4:53small actions and the way challenges are
- 4:55handled a culture of trust and
- 4:58Excellence isn't created by by chance it
- 5:00is built through intentional leadership
- 5:02consistent values and a shared
- 5:04commitment to something greater than
- 5:06individual success every company whether
- 5:09they realize it or not has a culture it
- 5:11is either built with purpose or left to
- 5:14form on its own when culture is left to
- 5:16chance it often leads to confusion
- 5:19disengagement and inconsistency
- 5:21employees become uncertain about
- 5:23expectations and without clear values
- 5:26guiding decisions people start working
- 5:28in silos focused only on their own tasks
- 5:31rather than the bigger picture in
- 5:33contrast when culture is built
- 5:34deliberately it creates a workplace
- 5:36where people feel connected valued and
- 5:38inspired to contribute their best
- 5:40building a strong culture starts with
- 5:42leadership leaders must embody the
- 5:44values they want to see in their teams
- 5:46if a company claims to Value honesty
- 5:48leaders must be transparent in their
- 5:50communication if teamwork is a priority
- 5:52leaders must show that they work
- 5:54collaboratively and support their team
- 5:56people don't follow words they follow
- 5:58actions employ employees look to their
- 6:00leaders to set the standard and if
- 6:02leadership is inconsistent with the
- 6:03values they promote those values lose
- 6:06all meaning culture is also built in the
- 6:09smallest of moments it's in the way a
- 6:11manager responds to a mistake do they
- 6:14use it as a learning opportunity or a
- 6:15chance to assign blame it's in the way a
- 6:17company handles difficult times do they
- 6:20prioritize their people or do they make
- 6:22decisions that contradict their stated
- 6:24values every small action either
- 6:27strengthens or weakens culture people
- 6:30notice the details they remember how
- 6:32they were treated when they were
- 6:33struggling they remember whether their
- 6:35contributions were recognized or ignored
- 6:38over time these moments create either a
- 6:40culture of trust and commitment or one
- 6:42of fear and indifference trust is one of
- 6:44the most important foundations of
- 6:46culture when employees feel safe they
- 6:48take risks they share ideas and they
- 6:50invest more of themselves in their work
- 6:53but trust cannot be demanded it must be
- 6:55earned it is built through honesty
- 6:57consistency and genuine care for
- 6:59people's wellbeing leaders who listen
- 7:02who take responsibility for their
- 7:03actions and who create an environment
- 7:05where employees feel supported are the
- 7:07ones who build cultures that thrive a
- 7:09strong culture is also one that gives
- 7:10people a sense of belonging when
- 7:12employees feel like they are part of
- 7:14something bigger than themselves they
- 7:16are more engaged more loyal and more
- 7:18willing to go the extra mile people want
- 7:20to feel that their work has meaning that
- 7:22they are valued and that they are
- 7:24contributing to a shared
- 7:26Mission companies that succeed in
- 7:28building culture don't just give people
- 7:30jobs they give them a purpose but
- 7:33culture isn't just about feeling good
- 7:35it's also about setting high standards a
- 7:38great culture is one that challenges
- 7:40people to be their best while also
- 7:42giving them the support they need to
- 7:44grow it is not about avoiding tough
- 7:47conversations or making work easy it is
- 7:49about creating an environment where
- 7:51people feel empowered to push themselves
- 7:53and each other in a way that is
- 7:55constructive not destructive
- 7:57accountability is a key part of building
- 7:59culture culture it means that people
- 8:01hold themselves and each other to the
- 8:02values that Define the organization it
- 8:05means that employees know what is
- 8:07expected of them and they understand
- 8:08that their actions impact the team as a
- 8:10whole a company with a strong culture
- 8:13does not tolerate behavior that goes
- 8:15against its values no matter how
- 8:17talented or successful an individual
- 8:19might be a culture that allows toxicity
- 8:21to persist is one that will ultimately
- 8:24fail because culture is only as strong
- 8:26as the behaviors that are reinforced
- 8:28every day building culture also requires
- 8:31adaptability the best companies don't
- 8:33cling to outdated tradition simply
- 8:35because that's how it's always been done
- 8:38they evolve while staying true to their
- 8:40core values they listen to their
- 8:42employees they recognize when change is
- 8:44needed and they are willing to improve a
- 8:46rigid culture that refuses to grow is
- 8:48one that eventually loses its best
- 8:50people the strongest cultures are those
- 8:52that balance consistency with
- 8:54flexibility ensuring that the values
- 8:56remain intact while the methods evolve
- 8:58with time cult culture is the invisible
- 9:00force that drives a company forward it
- 9:02is the reason some teams work with
- 9:04passion and others simply go through the
- 9:06motions it is what separates companies
- 9:08that attract top talent from those that
- 9:10struggle with high turnover and
- 9:12ultimately it is the difference between
- 9:13an organization that thrives and one
- 9:15that simply survives leadership sets the
- 9:18foundation for culture it is not the
- 9:20words in a company handbook or the
- 9:22slogans posted on the walls that define
- 9:24an organization's culture it is the
- 9:26actions of those in charge people don't
- 9:28follow mission statements they follow
- 9:31the behavior of their leaders if a
- 9:33leader sets a standard of Integrity
- 9:35respect and accountability the team will
- 9:38reflect those values of leader Fosters
- 9:40fear distrust or indifference that will
- 9:42spread as well culture is not dictated
- 9:44from a corporate office it is
- 9:46demonstrated every day in the way
- 9:47leaders show up make decisions and treat
- 9:50their people a Leader's Behavior sends a
- 9:52message louder than any official company
- 9:54value ever could when a leader listens
- 9:57instead of dismissing concerns they show
- 9:59that employees voices matter when a
- 10:01leader admits a mistake instead of
- 10:02Shifting blame they create an
- 10:04environment of trust and accountability
- 10:06when a leader supports their team rather
- 10:08than taking all the credit they
- 10:09reinforce a culture of
- 10:11collaboration but when leaders act in
- 10:14ways that contradict the values they
- 10:15claim to believe in those values lose
- 10:17meaning and Trust erods employees
- 10:19quickly learn what truly matters in a
- 10:21company not by what is said but by what
- 10:24is consistently done trust is the
- 10:26foundation of any strong culture and
- 10:28leaders are are responsible for building
- 10:30it trust cannot be ordered or demanded
- 10:33it must be earned through action it
- 10:36grows in the Moments When leaders show
- 10:38that they care about their people when
- 10:40they create an environment where
- 10:42employees feel safe to speak up take
- 10:44risks and contribute their best ideas
- 10:47leaders who Foster trust understand that
- 10:49their job is not to command but to
- 10:51support they remove obstacles Empower
- 10:54their teams and create an environment
- 10:56where people feel secure enough to
- 10:57perform at their highest level one of
- 10:59the greatest responsibilities of a
- 11:01leader is to create a sense of safety
- 11:03within the organization when employees
- 11:06feel unsafe whether physically
- 11:08emotionally or psychologically they will
- 11:10focus more on protecting themselves than
- 11:13on doing their best work in a culture
- 11:15where fear is present people hesitate to
- 11:17share ideas avoid taking risks and stay
- 11:19silent in the face of problems but in an
- 11:22environment of safety employees feel
- 11:24confident enough to take initiative make
- 11:25decisions and push for improvement a
- 11:28leader sets the tone when they create a
- 11:31culture where mistakes are seen as
- 11:32learning opportunities rather than
- 11:34punishable offenses Innovation thrives
- 11:37leadership is also about consistency
- 11:39people need to know what to expect from
- 11:41their leaders a leader who is
- 11:42unpredictable who reacts emotionally one
- 11:44day and rationally the next creates an
- 11:47environment of uncertainty inconsistency
- 11:50breeds anxiety and when employees are
- 11:52uncertain about how their leader will
- 11:54respond they hesitate they hold back
- 11:57they stop taking ownership but when a
- 11:59leader is steady reliable and clear in
- 12:01their expectations employees feel secure
- 12:04enough to focus on doing great work a
- 12:07consistent leader builds confidence
- 12:08within the team and confidence leads to
- 12:10higher performance and greater
- 12:12commitment the best leaders understand
- 12:15that their role is not to be the
- 12:16smartest person in the room but to bring
- 12:18out the best in others they don't
- 12:20micromanage or control every detail
- 12:23instead they create a culture where
- 12:24people feel empowered to take ownership
- 12:26of their work they trust their teams
- 12:28give them the freedom to make decisions
- 12:30and support them when they need guidance
- 12:32when employees feel trusted they take
- 12:35initiative they think creatively they
- 12:37solve problems before they escalate but
- 12:39when leaders operate with a mindset of
- 12:40control rather than trust they stifle
- 12:43Innovation kill motivation and create a
- 12:46culture where people do the bare minimum
- 12:48instead of striving for excellence
- 12:51culture is reinforced in the way leaders
- 12:53handle pressure anyone can be a great
- 12:55leader when things are going well but
- 12:57true leadership is revealed during
- 12:59difficult times when a company faces
- 13:01challenges when profits decline when
- 13:03mistakes are made the way a leader
- 13:05responds determines the strength of the
- 13:07culture do they take responsibility or
- 13:10do they look for
- 13:11scapegoats do they support their team or
- 13:14do they allow fear and blame to take
- 13:16over in moments of Crisis leaders either
- 13:19strengthen culture or destroy it
- 13:22employees watch closely they remember
- 13:24how leadership treated them during tough
- 13:26times and that memory shapes the
- 13:27long-term culture of the organ
- 13:29organization recognition is another
- 13:31crucial element of leadership people
- 13:33want to feel valued for their work When
- 13:35leaders acknowledge effort celebrate
- 13:37contributions and give credit where it
- 13:39is due employees feel seen and
- 13:41appreciated a culture of recognition
- 13:43leads to a culture of motivation on the
- 13:45other hand when employees feel invisible
- 13:47when their hard work is overlooked when
- 13:49only mistakes are noticed engagement
- 13:51declines people do not give their best
- 13:53in environments where they feel
- 13:55unappreciated leaders set the tone by
- 13:57making recognition a habit by ensuring
- 13:59that employees know their work matters
- 14:01and by creating a culture where
- 14:03appreciation is genuine and consistent
- 14:05leadership is also about service the
- 14:08strongest cultures exist in
- 14:09organizations where leaders put their
- 14:11people first When leaders operate with a
- 14:13mindset of serving rather than
- 14:15commanding they Inspire loyalty
- 14:17dedication and high performance a
- 14:19Leader's success is not measured by how
- 14:21much power they have but by how well
- 14:23they uplift others leadership is not
- 14:25about demanding results it is about
- 14:27creating an environment where results
- 14:29happen naturally because people feel
- 14:31inspired supported and connected to a
- 14:33greater purpose the best leaders
- 14:35understand that when they take care of
- 14:36their people their people take care of
- 14:38the company leadership sets the
- 14:40foundation for culture it defines the
- 14:43environment in which people work how
- 14:44they interact with one another and how
- 14:47they feel about being part of an
- 14:48organization when's culture is not built
- 14:50on policies or mission statements alone
- 14:52it is built on the behaviors attitudes
- 14:54and decisions of its leaders leaders
- 14:56have the power to create a culture of
- 14:58trust accountabil ability and purpose or
- 15:00one of fear disconnection and
- 15:02indifference employees look to their
- 15:04leaders for cues on how to behave what
- 15:06is acceptable in what truly matters when
- 15:09leaders act with Integrity listen with
- 15:11empathy and lead with Clarity they
- 15:13Inspire those around them to do the same
- 15:15but when leaders fail to set the right
- 15:17tone culture is left to chance often
- 15:19leading to dysfunction disengagement and
- 15:21a lack of purpose the strongest cultures
- 15:24are built on trust and trust starts with
- 15:27leadership trust is not built through
- 15:29words alone it is earned through
- 15:31consistent actions When leaders are
- 15:32transparent about challenges communicate
- 15:35openly and follow through on their
- 15:36commitments they send a message that
- 15:38people can rely on them employees who
- 15:41trust their leaders feel safe to express
- 15:43their ideas take risks and contribute
- 15:45fully they are more engaged more
- 15:47Innovative and more committed to their
- 15:48work but when leaders break trust when
- 15:51they fail to deliver on promises
- 15:53withhold information or act
- 15:54inconsistently employees become guarded
- 15:57they start protecting themselves instead
- 15:59of investing in the team leading to a
- 16:01culture of hesitation and fear rather
- 16:03than one of collaboration and growth
- 16:06leadership is also about leading by
- 16:08example employees do not follow what
- 16:10leaders say they follow what leaders do
- 16:13if a leader preaches honesty but Cuts
- 16:16Corners the team learns that honesty is
- 16:18not truly valued if a leader demands
- 16:21accountability but avoids responsibility
- 16:23for their own mistakes employees quickly
- 16:25realize that accountability is just a
- 16:27talking point not a real expectation
- 16:30culture is shaped by the behaviors that
- 16:32are reinforced every day when leaders
- 16:34embody the values they expect from their
- 16:36teams those values become ingrained in
- 16:38the company's DNA When leaders fail to
- 16:41do so culture becomes fragmented with
- 16:43different teams operating under
- 16:45different unspoken rules one of the most
- 16:47important rules of a leader is to create
- 16:49an environment where people feel safe
- 16:52safe to speak up safe to challenge ideas
- 16:54and safe to take risks in organizations
- 16:57where people fear making mistakes makes
- 16:59creativity and Innovation suffer
- 17:02employees hesitate to propose new ideas
- 17:05because they worry about being
- 17:06criticized or ignored but in a culture
- 17:08where leaders encourage experimentation
- 17:10and see failures as learning
- 17:11opportunities people feel empowered to
- 17:12push boundaries and think differently
- 17:14When leaders create a culture where it
- 17:16is okay to fail as long as failure is
- 17:18met with learning and Improvement
- 17:21employees develop resilience and
- 17:23adaptability which are crucial for
- 17:25long-term success leadership also
- 17:27determines the level of accountability
- 17:29within an organization in a healthy
- 17:31culture accountability is not about
- 17:33blame it is about ownership strong
- 17:35leaders set clear expectations provide
- 17:37the necessary support and hold both
- 17:39themselves and others responsible for
- 17:41results they recognize that
- 17:43accountability is not about punishment
- 17:45it is about growth learning and
- 17:46Improvement When leaders hold themselves
- 17:49accountable employees follow suit but
- 17:51when leaders avoid responsibility shift
- 17:54blame or make excuses accountability
- 17:56disappears employees begin to do the
- 17:58same leading to a culture where problems
- 18:00go unresolved mistakes are hidden and
- 18:02progress is slow a culture of
- 18:05accountability begins with leaders who
- 18:06take responsibility for their actions
- 18:08and decisions and who encourage their
- 18:10teams to do the same leadership is also
- 18:13about Clarity employees need to know
- 18:15what they are working toward what is
- 18:17expected of them and why their work
- 18:18matters when leaders communicate a Clear
- 18:21Vision and consistently reinforce it
- 18:23employees feel a sense of purpose they
- 18:25understand how their contributions fit
- 18:27into the bigger picture which increases
- 18:29motivation and engagement but when
- 18:31leaders are vague inconsistent or
- 18:34frequently change direction without
- 18:36explanation employees become frustrated
- 18:38and disengaged uncertainty breeds
- 18:41confusion and confusion leads to
- 18:43inaction leaders who provide Clarity
- 18:45give their teams the confidence to move
- 18:47forward with focus and determination
- 18:49recognition plays a significant role in
- 18:51shaping culture and leaders set the tone
- 18:53for how appreciation is expressed within
- 18:55an organization people want to know that
- 18:57their efforts matter that their hard
- 18:59work is seen and that their
- 19:01contributions make a difference when
- 19:03leaders take the time to recognize
- 19:05achievements whether big or small they
- 19:07reinforce the behaviors that drive
- 19:09success employees who feel appreciated
- 19:11are more likely to go above and beyond
- 19:13because they know their efforts are
- 19:14valued but in cultures where recognition
- 19:17is rare employees begin to feel
- 19:19invisible they start doing only what is
- 19:21required because they see no reason to
- 19:23put in extra effort leaders who create a
- 19:26habit of celebrating successes both
- 19:28individual ual and Collective Foster a
- 19:30culture of motivation and high
- 19:32performance leadership is also about
- 19:33humility the best leaders do not pretend
- 19:36to have all the answers they create
- 19:37space for others to contribute share
- 19:39ideas and take ownership of solutions
- 19:42they surround themselves with talented
- 19:44people and Empower them to excel they
- 19:46are willing to listen to learn and to
- 19:48admit when they are wrong leaders who
- 19:51approach their role with humility build
- 19:52cultures of collaboration where people
- 19:55feel respected and valued but leaders
- 19:57who operate from a place of ego who
- 19:59refuse to listen or accept feedback
- 20:02create cultures where people hold back
- 20:04where Innovation is stifled and where
- 20:06employees feel
- 20:08disconnected a company's culture is not
- 20:10built by accident it is shaped every day
- 20:12by the actions of its leaders employees
- 20:15take cues from leadership on what is
- 20:17important how to behave and how to treat
- 20:19one another a leader who prioritizes
- 20:20trust accountability Clarity recognition
- 20:23and humility creates a culture where
- 20:25people feel safe inspired and motivated
- 20:28to do their best best work a leader who
- 20:30neglects these principles allows culture
- 20:32to form on its own often leading to
- 20:35disengagement inconsistency and a lack
- 20:38of purpose leadership is not about
- 20:40Authority or power it is about setting
- 20:42the foundation for a culture where
- 20:45people thrive where work has meaning and
- 20:47where teams come together to achieve
- 20:49something greater than themselves
- 20:51purpose drives engagement people don't
- 20:54wake up excited to work just because
- 20:56they have a job or a paycheck they stay
- 20:58engaged when they believe in what they
- 21:00are doing they stay committed when they
- 21:02feel their work has meaning that they
- 21:03are contributing to something bigger
- 21:05than themselves when employees
- 21:08understand why their work matters they
- 21:10bring more energy creativity and passion
- 21:12to it they don't just complete tasks
- 21:15they take ownership invest their time
- 21:17and effort and go beyond what is
- 21:19expected because they believe in the
- 21:21mission organizations that thrive are
- 21:24the ones that make purpose the
- 21:25foundation of their culture when people
- 21:27know the deeper reason behind their work
- 21:29they are not just motivated by deadlines
- 21:31and performance metrics but by a shared
- 21:33vision of success purpose is what
- 21:36transforms a job into a calling it's
- 21:39what keeps people engaged even when the
- 21:41work is challenging it's what makes
- 21:43employees willing to push through
- 21:44obstacles find Creative Solutions and
- 21:46give their best effort even when no one
- 21:49is watching leaders play a crucial role
- 21:52in connecting employees to purpose it is
- 21:55not enough to have a mission statement
- 21:56written on a website or a frame quote in
- 21:58the office people need to hear see and
- 22:01feel that purpose in their daily work
- 22:04the best leaders remind their teams why
- 22:06they do what they do not just what they
- 22:08need to accomplish they tell stories
- 22:10that connect work to impact they help
- 22:13employees see how their efforts
- 22:14contribute to the bigger picture when
- 22:16purpose is clear people don't just work
- 22:18for a paycheck or a promotion they work
- 22:21because they feel a sense of
- 22:22responsibility to something greater than
- 22:24themselves Clarity of purpose helps
- 22:26organizations attract and retain the
- 22:28right people people want to work for
- 22:31companies that align with their values
- 22:33where they feel they are making a
- 22:34difference when employees resonate with
- 22:36the mission of an organization they
- 22:38become its most passionate Advocates
- 22:40they speak about the company with pride
- 22:42they stay longer and they put in more
- 22:44effort because they feel personally
- 22:45connected to the work but when there is
- 22:47no clear purpose work becomes
- 22:49transactional employees do what is
- 22:51required but no more they clock in
- 22:54complete tasks and leave without a
- 22:56deeper sense of fulfillment a lack of
- 22:58purpose leads to disengagement when
- 23:00people do not understand why their work
- 23:02matters they lose motivation they start
- 23:05seeing tasks as routine and meaningless
- 23:07they focus only on what they have to do
- 23:09instead of thinking about what they
- 23:10could do to make a greater
- 23:13impact a purpose-driven culture prevents
- 23:16this from happening by constantly
- 23:17reinforcing the why behind the work when
- 23:20employees feel a strong sense of purpose
- 23:23they naturally take more initiative they
- 23:25bring ideas to the table they
- 23:26collaborate more effectively and they
- 23:28seek ways to improve processes because
- 23:30they care about the outcome not just the
- 23:32process purpose also creates resilience
- 23:35when challenges arise when there are
- 23:37setbacks and failures it is purpose that
- 23:39keeps people going employees who are
- 23:41connected to a larger Mission don't give
- 23:43up when things get difficult they adapt
- 23:46problem solve and push forward because
- 23:48they believe in what they are working
- 23:49toward organizations without a strong
- 23:52sense of purpose struggle in difficult
- 23:53times because employees lack a deeper
- 23:55reason to stay engaged they see
- 23:57obstacles as reasons to stop rather than
- 23:59as challenges to overcome but in
- 24:02purpose-driven organizations people see
- 24:04adversity as an opportunity to learn and
- 24:06grow because they are working towards
- 24:08something meaningful leaders must
- 24:10actively reinforce purpose in the way
- 24:12they communicate in the decisions they
- 24:14make and in the behaviors they model it
- 24:15is not enough to talk about purpose once
- 24:18and expect people to stay connected to
- 24:19it purpose must be woven into the
- 24:22culture of the company leaders must
- 24:24share real stories of impact celebrate
- 24:27work that aligns with the mission
- 24:28and help employees see the difference
- 24:30they are making every meeting every
- 24:33project every recognition should
- 24:35reinforce why the work matters when
- 24:37employees consistently hear and see that
- 24:39their contributions are meaningful they
- 24:41remain engaged motivated and committed
- 24:44purpose also strengthens teamwork when
- 24:46employees share a common purpose they
- 24:48collaborate more effectively they see
- 24:50each other not just as co-workers but as
- 24:52partners working toward the same goal
- 24:55they support one another challenge each
- 24:57other to do better and celebrate each
- 24:59other's successes purpose-driven teams
- 25:01work with a sense of unity because they
- 25:03are aligned in their efforts without
- 25:05purpose teams often become fragmented
- 25:07with individuals Focus only on their own
- 25:09tasks and goals rather than working
- 25:12together toward a shared Vision
- 25:14organizations that lead with purpose are
- 25:16more successful because their employees
- 25:18are emotionally invested in their work
- 25:20they don't just show up they care they
- 25:22don't just follow instructions they
- 25:24contribute ideas they don't just work
- 25:26for rewards they work for fulfillment
- 25:28ment the best organizations understand
- 25:30that purpose is not a luxury it is a
- 25:33necessity it is what drives people to do
- 25:35their best work to remain loyal and to
- 25:37push Beyond limitations it is the
- 25:40foundation of a culture where people
- 25:41don't just work for the company they
- 25:43work with it for something bigger than
- 25:45themselves communication shapes culture
- 25:48it is not just about what is said but
- 25:50how it is said how often it is said and
- 25:52whether people feel heard in return in
- 25:55any organization communication is either
- 25:57a bridge that connects people or a
- 25:59barrier that creates division the way
- 26:02leaders communicate with their teams the
- 26:03way colleagues communicate with one
- 26:05another and the way information flows
- 26:07throughout the company all play a role
- 26:09in defining the culture strong cultures
- 26:11are built on open honest and consistent
- 26:13communication while weak cultures suffer
- 26:15from Silence confusion and
- 26:17misunderstandings great communication
- 26:19starts with transparency employees want
- 26:22to know what is happening within the
- 26:23organization they want to understand the
- 26:25direction the company's headed the
- 26:27challenges faces and the decisions being
- 26:29made When leaders are open and honest
- 26:32employees feel respected and valued they
- 26:35trust that they are part of something
- 26:36bigger than just their daily tasks but
- 26:39when information is withheld when
- 26:41decisions are made behind closed doors
- 26:43or When leaders avoid difficult
- 26:45conversations employees begin to feel
- 26:47disconnected uncertainty breeds fear and
- 26:50in the absence of clear communication
- 26:53people fill the gaps with speculation
- 26:55doubt and mistrust leaders set the tone
- 26:58for how communication flows within an
- 27:00organization When leaders prioritize
- 27:02listening as much as speaking they
- 27:04create an environment where employees
- 27:05feel safe to share their thoughts ideas
- 27:07and concerns people want to be heard
- 27:10they want to know that their voices
- 27:12matter that their input is valued and
- 27:14that their perspectives contribute to
- 27:16the bigger picture leaders who actively
- 27:18listen build cultures where employees
- 27:20feel engaged and invested in their work
- 27:23but when leaders dismiss feedback
- 27:24interrupt or fail to acknowledge
- 27:26contributions employees quickly learn
- 27:28that their voices do not matter and they
- 27:30disengage communication is not just
- 27:33about words it is also about actions a
- 27:36company may say it values teamwork but
- 27:38if internal meetings are filled with
- 27:39conflict competition and a lack of
- 27:41collaboration those words mean nothing
- 27:44culture is not built by what is written
- 27:46in a mission statement it is built by
- 27:49what people experience every day when
- 27:50leaders communicate their values through
- 27:52their decisions and behaviors employees
- 27:54naturally align with them but when there
- 27:56is a disconnect between what is said and
- 27:58what is done employees become skeptical
- 28:01and culture weakens consistency in
- 28:03communication is just as important as
- 28:05transparency people thrive when they
- 28:07know what to expect if a company's
- 28:09Vision goals or expectations constantly
- 28:12shift without explanation employees feel
- 28:14lost they struggle to stay engaged
- 28:16because they are unsure of what is truly
- 28:18important leaders who communicate
- 28:20consistently provide a sense of
- 28:22stability even in times of change they
- 28:25ensure that employees are always clear
- 28:26on priorities Direction and expectations
- 28:29but when communication is inconsistent
- 28:32when one message contradicts another
- 28:34when priorities shift without
- 28:36explanation employees lose trust and
- 28:39confusion takes over great cultures
- 28:41Foster open dialogue employees should
- 28:43feel encouraged to ask questions share
- 28:45concerns and contribute ideas without
- 28:47fear of criticism or retaliation a
- 28:50culture where people are afraid to speak
- 28:52up is a culture that stifles Innovation
- 28:54and progress leaders must actively
- 28:56create environments where people feel
- 28:58comfortable expressing themselves this
- 29:00means responding with respect valuing
- 29:02different viewpoints and ensuring that
- 29:04every person regardless of position has
- 29:07a voice when employees feel that their
- 29:08input is not only welcomed but also
- 29:10acted upon they are more likely to
- 29:12engage deeply with their work and take
- 29:14ownership of their contribution body
- 29:16language tone and non-verbal cues also
- 29:19play a critical role in shaping
- 29:21communication a leader may say they are
- 29:23open to feedback but if they cross their
- 29:25arms avoid eye contact or seem
- 29:27disengaged when someone is speaking
- 29:29employees pick up on that
- 29:31contradiction people listen not just to
- 29:33words but to how they are delivered the
- 29:35way leaders present themselves in
- 29:37conversations whether they are
- 29:39approachable attentive and genuinely
- 29:41interested can either reinforce a
- 29:43culture of openness or create an
- 29:44invisible wall between leadership and
- 29:46employees technology has transformed the
- 29:49way communication happens in
- 29:50organizations but it has also created
- 29:52new challenges emails instant messaging
- 29:55and video calls have made it easier than
- 29:57ever to stay stay connected but they
- 29:59have also increased the risk of
- 30:01miscommunication without tone of voice
- 30:02or body language messages can be
- 30:04misinterpreted leading to confusion or
- 30:06conflict strong cultures recognize that
- 30:09while digital communication is efficient
- 30:11it cannot replace the value of
- 30:12face-to-face conversations whether in
- 30:15person or through video the most
- 30:17effective leaders balance digital
- 30:19communication with real human
- 30:20interactions to ensure that messages are
- 30:22clear and personal connections are
- 30:25maintained a culture of strong
- 30:27communication also requires leaders to
- 30:28handle difficult conversations with
- 30:30honesty and empathy avoiding
- 30:32uncomfortable topics whether it is about
- 30:34performance company challenges or
- 30:36necessary changes only creates more
- 30:38problems in the long run employees
- 30:41respect leaders who are willing to have
- 30:43tough conversations as long as they are
- 30:45handled with fairness and respect the
- 30:47way a company delivers difficult news
- 30:49whether it is a layoff restructuring or
- 30:51a change in strategy defines its culture
- 30:54companies that communicate with
- 30:55transparency and compassion retain the
- 30:57trust of their employees even in
- 30:59difficult times recognition and feedback
- 31:02are also essential components of a
- 31:03strong communication culture employees
- 31:06want to know how they are doing what
- 31:08they are doing well and where they can
- 31:09improve regular constructive feedback
- 31:11helps employees grow and stay engaged
- 31:14but feedback should never be one-sided a
- 31:17great culture encourages feedback in all
- 31:19directions leaders giving feedback to
- 31:21employees employees giving feedback to
- 31:23leaders and teams giving feedback to
- 31:25each other when feedback is seen as a
- 31:28tool for growth rather than as criticism
- 31:30people become more open to learning and
- 31:32improving at its core communication is
- 31:34about connection the way people
- 31:36communicate within an organization
- 31:37determines whether employees feel like
- 31:39they are part of a team or just a
- 31:41collection of individuals working in the
- 31:43same place when communication is open
- 31:46clear and consistent employees feel
- 31:48valued engaged and connected to a larger
- 31:50Mission but when communication is poor
- 31:53fragmented or lacking employees feel
- 31:55isolated uncertain and disengaged
- 31:58company's culture is ultimately defined
- 31:59by how well its people communicate with
- 32:01honesty respect and a shared sense of
- 32:03purpose recognition and appreciation
- 32:06strength and culture people want to feel
- 32:07valued for their contributions not just
- 32:09as employees but as individuals who
- 32:11bring unique skills ideas and energy to
- 32:13an organization a strong culture is
- 32:15built on the foundation that hard work
- 32:17is noticed that effort is acknowledged
- 32:20and that people feel their presence
- 32:21makes a difference when recognition is a
- 32:23core part of a company's culture
- 32:26employees feel a deeper connection to
- 32:27their work and to the people they work
- 32:29with they feel motivated to go above and
- 32:31beyond not because they have to but
- 32:33because they want to recognition is not
- 32:36just about rewarding high performance it
- 32:38is about reinforcing the values and
- 32:40behaviors that drive
- 32:42success what gets recognized gets
- 32:45repeated When leaders take the time to
- 32:47highlight the right actions whether it's
- 32:48teamwork Innovation resilience or going
- 32:51the extra mile those behaviors become
- 32:53ingrained in the culture employees begin
- 32:55to understand what is truly valued with
- 32:57within the organization and they
- 32:59naturally align themselves with those
- 33:01expectations but when recognition is
- 33:03absent or inconsistent employees are
- 33:06left guessing they may feel that their
- 33:08hard work goes unnoticed that their
- 33:10efforts don't matter or that only
- 33:11certain people get recognized While
- 33:13others are overlooked this can lead to
- 33:15frustration disengagement and even
- 33:18resentment the way recognition is given
- 33:20matters just as much as the act itself
- 33:23it must be authentic specific and
- 33:25meaningful a simple good job or generic
- 33:28praise is not enough to make people feel
- 33:30truly appreciated specific recognition
- 33:32highlighting exactly what someone did
- 33:34well and how it contributed to the
- 33:36team's success has a much greater impact
- 33:39when employees understand the direct
- 33:41impact of their work they feel a greater
- 33:43sense of purpose and belonging it's the
- 33:45difference between saying thanks for
- 33:47your hard work and saying your
- 33:49creativity in solving that client's
- 33:50problem made a huge difference in
- 33:53strengthening our
- 33:54relationship that kind of problemsolving
- 33:56mindset is what makes this team great
- 33:59the second approach is far more powerful
- 34:01because it connects the praise to a real
- 34:04outcome recognition should also be
- 34:06timely waiting until an annual review or
- 34:09a company waste meeting to acknowledge
- 34:11someone's efforts can diminish the
- 34:13impact people thrive on immediate
- 34:16feedback when appreciation is given in
- 34:18the moment it reinforces positive
- 34:20behavior instantly and encourages
- 34:22employees to continue striving for
- 34:24excellence delayed recognition on the
- 34:26other hand can feel feel like an
- 34:28afterthought or a formality rather than
- 34:30a genuine expression of
- 34:32appreciation organizations that build
- 34:34recognition into their daily culture
- 34:36create an environment where people feel
- 34:38valued consistently not just
- 34:41occasionally a strong recognition
- 34:43culture is not just top down it must be
- 34:45woven into every level of the
- 34:47organization while recognition from
- 34:49leadership is important peer-to peer
- 34:52recognition is equally powerful
- 34:54employees often see the hard work and
- 34:56dedication of their colleagues more
- 34:58closely than their managers do
- 35:00encouraging a culture where team members
- 35:02regularly acknowledge and appreciate
- 35:03each other Fosters a sense of
- 35:05camaraderie and mutual respect it
- 35:07reinforces that recognition is not just
- 35:10about impressing leadership but about
- 35:12creating an environment where people
- 35:13uplift and support one another public
- 35:16recognition can be incredibly impactful
- 35:18but it's important to consider
- 35:20individual preferences some people
- 35:22thrive on public praise While others
- 35:24prefer private acknowledgement the key
- 35:27is to tailor recognition to the
- 35:28individual a handwritten note a personal
- 35:31email or a one-on-one conversation can
- 35:34sometimes mean more than a public
- 35:35announcement what matters most is that
- 35:38the appreciation feels genuine and
- 35:40meaningful to the recipient leaders who
- 35:42take the time to understand how their
- 35:44team members like to be recognized
- 35:46create deeper connections and stronger
- 35:49relationships beyond words recognition
- 35:51should also be reflected in tangible
- 35:53ways promotions raises bonuses and new
- 35:56opportunities for growth are all
- 35:57powerful forms of appreciation when
- 36:00employees see that their hard work leads
- 36:02to career advancement and personal
- 36:03development they feel valued on a deeper
- 36:05level however recognition does not
- 36:08always have to be Financial small
- 36:10gestures such as giving someone a more
- 36:12flexible work schedule assigning them to
- 36:14a high-profile project or even offering
- 36:16extra time off can be just as meaningful
- 36:19the goal is to show employees that their
- 36:21contributions are seen and that their
- 36:23efforts have a direct impact on their
- 36:24professional Journey culture suffers
- 36:26when recognition is one-sided if only
- 36:29certain employees or departments receive
- 36:31praise While others feel ignored it
- 36:32creates division every role from
- 36:35Frontline workers to Executives
- 36:37contributes to the overall success of
- 36:39the company a strong culture ensures
- 36:41that recognition is inclusive
- 36:42highlighting achievements across
- 36:44different levels and functions when
- 36:46employees see that contributions of all
- 36:48kinds big and small are valued they feel
- 36:52a stronger sense of unity and shared
- 36:55purpose leaders must lead by example
- 36:58when it comes to recognition employees
- 37:00look to leadership to understand what is
- 37:02valued within an organization When
- 37:04leaders regularly acknowledge and
- 37:06appreciate their teams it sets the
- 37:08expectation that recognition is not just
- 37:10encouraged but essential leaders who
- 37:13take the time to personally Express
- 37:14appreciation create a ripple effect
- 37:17inspiring managers and employees to do
- 37:19the same a culture of recognition is not
- 37:21built through policies or programs alone
- 37:24it is built through daily actions that
- 37:26reinforce the importance of appreciation
- 37:28recognition also drives engagement
- 37:31employees who feel appreciated are more
- 37:33likely to be engaged productive and
- 37:35loyal to the organization Studies have
- 37:37shown that employees who regularly
- 37:39receive meaningful recognition are more
- 37:41motivated more satisfied with their jobs
- 37:43and more committed to their company's
- 37:45Mission they take more pride in their
- 37:47work they build stronger relationships
- 37:49with their colleagues and they are more
- 37:50likely to stay with the organization
- 37:52long term on the other hand a lack of
- 37:54recognition can lead to disengagement
- 37:56high turnover in a culture where
