- 0:00on this broadcast last week in an effort
- 0:02to honor and thank a veteran who
- 0:04protected me and so many others after a
- 0:07ground fire incident in the desert
- 0:09during the Iraq War Invasion I made a
- 0:12mistake in recalling the events of 12
- 0:14years ago it did not take long to hear
- 0:17from some brave men and women in the air
- 0:19Crews who were also in that desert I
- 0:22want to apologize I said I was traveling
- 0:25in an aircraft that was hit by RPG fire
- 0:28I was instead in a following aircraft we
- 0:32all landed after the groundfire incident
- 0:34and spent two harrowing nights in a
- 0:37sandstorm in the Iraq desert this was a
- 0:40bungled attempt by me to thank one
- 0:43special veteran and by extension our
- 0:45brave military men and women veterans
- 0:47everywhere those who have served while I
- 0:49did not I hope they know they have my
- 0:52greatest respect and also now my apology
- 0:56when we come back
