- 0:03the best year. There are accusations you

- 0:07to be here when they talking about this.
- 0:09There is a black professor who faced a
- 0:11lot of accusations. But there is a
- 0:13letter he wrote after 250 articles
- 0:17shaming him said I've reached a certain
- 0:19level where a human can no longer take
- 0:21this and he killed himself yesterday. Uh
- 0:243 years ago, Jason Aday made history,
- 0:26[music]
- 0:27becoming Cambridge University's youngest
- 0:29ever black professor. But earlier this
- 0:32month, he was at the center of a
- 0:33plagiarism round. [music] And last week,
- 0:35he quits his role with immediate effect.
- 0:38Tonight, it's been confirmed that
- 0:39Professor Jason Aday has been found
- 0:41dead.
- 0:48There is a black professor
- 0:52who faced a lot of accusations.
- 0:59And then they realized some of the
- 1:00accusations were just not true,
- 1:05the main one, the main one for
- 1:07plagiarism was not correct.
- 1:14zeroed in on some things that they
- 1:15thought he lied or said he lied on
- 1:20which didn't affect his professional job
- 1:23as a professor.
- 1:27But there is a letter he wrote
- 1:31after 250 articles
- 1:39shaming him.
- 1:42on his resignation,
- 1:45he said, "I've reached a [music] certain
- 1:46level
- 1:49where a human can no longer take this."
- 1:54After he wrote 188 more
- 2:00and he killed himself yesterday
- 2:09and the Bible [music] says I can do all
- 2:11things
- 2:13through Christ.
- 2:16That means if somebody administered to
- 2:18him
- 2:21that these two will pass
- 2:26not tell him as [music] a friend but
- 2:28bring the reality of the gospel
- 2:36in ministry you go through a lot
- 2:42there are things that I've gone through
- 2:43that I thought you know killing yourself
- 2:45would be the best year.
- 2:53There are accusations you receive,
- 2:58people lying on you
- 3:02and their mistakes I've made personally
- 3:07that you would say, "No, I don't need to
- 3:09be here when they're talking about
- 3:10this."
- 3:13But with Jesus,
- 3:16You can do all things.
- 3:23So, you really need Jesus.
- 3:29Jason Arde, who was Cambridge
- 3:31University's youngest black professor
- 3:34ever, has been found dead a week after
- 3:36he resigned amid plagiarism allegations.
- 3:39>> [music]
- 3:39>> Investigators say the circumstances of
- 3:41the 41-year-old's death do not appear to
- 3:43be suspicious. The BBC's Helena
- 3:46Wilkinson has the very [music] latest.
- 3:48Three years ago, Jason Arde made
- 3:51history, becoming Cambridge University's
- 3:54youngest ever black professor. But
- 3:57earlier this month, he was at the center
- 3:59of a plagiarism row. And last week, he
- 4:02quit his role with immediate effect.
- 4:04Tonight, it's been confirmed that
- 4:06Professor Jason Arde has been found
- 4:09dead. In a statement, the Metropolitan
- 4:11Police said they were called by the
- 4:14London Ambulance Service this afternoon
- 4:16following a report that a man had been
- 4:18found unresponsive inside a property.
- 4:22Sadly, a 41-year-old man was pronounced
- 4:24dead at the scene. His next of kin have
- 4:27been informed and have been supported by
- 4:29officers.
- 4:31Since his appointment as a Cambridge
- 4:33professor of sociology of education in
- 4:362023, Professor Jason Arde regularly
- 4:40appeared in the media talking about a
- 4:42variety of subjects from societal
- 4:45debates.
- 4:46>> I think when we think about monarchy and
- 4:48we think about how we modernize the
- 4:50monarchy and how the monarch
- 4:51>> to his personal journey into academia,
- 4:54>> there's one thing you said to me which I
- 4:55never forgot. Um, and it was when I was
- 4:5822 and I said to you, I was thinking
- 4:59about doing a PhD and you said to me
- 5:02like, you know, it would be the greatest
- 5:04story in the world if the kid who didn't
- 5:06know how to read and write was managed
- 5:07to get a PhD.
- 5:09>> But there were recent allegations of
- 5:11plagiarism and [music] questions about
- 5:13some of his achievements. He denied the
- 5:16claims. He admitted errors in his work,
- 5:19but said he had faced an unrelenting
- 5:22level of public scrutiny and personal
- 5:24attack [clears throat] and was not a
- 5:27liar. [music] Some critics had said the
- 5:29treatment of him had been motivated by
- 5:31racism, but others said the claims of
- 5:34plagiarism were legitimate. In a
- 5:36statement tonight, Cambridge University
- 5:39said it was deeply saddened to hear the
- 5:41tragic news that Jason Arde has died.
- 5:45The Metropolitan [music] Police said his
- 5:47death was being treated as unexpected,
- 5:50but is not believed to be suspicious.
- 5:52Helena Wilkinson, BBC [music] News.
- 5:56Now, Aray's family put out a statement
- 5:58saying, quote, "Jason was subjected to a
- 6:00campaign of sustained abuse for the more
- 6:03than three years since he accepted the
- 6:05role of professor at Cambridge
- 6:06University by those who would leave no
- 6:09stone unturned in their quest to
- 6:11undermine him." The campaign of
- 6:13misinformation was too much for Jason,
- 6:16who was a gentle man and who always
- 6:18wanted to see the best in [music]
- 6:20everyone. Good news to you everybody.
- 6:22Following what the prophet has to say
- 6:23about the recent death of the professor.
- 6:26[music] It is imperative that you look
- 6:28after everyone who is surrounding you,
- 6:29your family, your friends and anyone
- 6:31that you can talk to to spread the
- 6:33gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ because
- 6:34[music] this death could have been
- 6:36avoided if the message of love was
- 6:39spread if the gospel had been spread. So
- 6:41it is so important that we actually
- 6:43share everything that the prophet has to
- 6:45say in the world. Why? Because he's the
- 6:47good news man. He's the one with the
- 6:48good news revelation. It is important
- 6:50that everyone in [music] this world
- 6:52receives the Lord Jesus Christ. Good
- 6:54news to you and thank you for liking
- 6:55sharing this video. Until next time,
- 6:57head bow. But and there's a question for
- 7:00some from someone who is saying I'm a
- 7:03young believer and my mother and my
- 7:05father they are all believers but my
- 7:07father believes that we must be happy
- 7:10just like God as a philosophy and
- 7:13everything
- 7:14>> we must be what
- 7:15>> just be happy like God according to what
- 7:18is written happy
- 7:27like God, we must be joyous as a family
- 7:32and everything.
- 7:35So, so we just be happy. Just be happy
- 7:37just
- 7:39as a believer [music] and everything
- 7:40will be will be okay.
- 7:42>> He's on to something. That's the father.
- 7:49>> I want you to I want you to understand
- 7:51something.
- 7:53The word happy is a [music] very bad
- 7:54word to use.
- 7:59So the ethmology of it comes from the
- 8:01word happenings.
- 8:08So it is dependent on what's happening.
- 8:14So the Bible is not promoting happiness.
- 8:18Happiness.
- 8:21It uses the word rejoice forever more.
- 8:34Rejoice.
- 8:37Joy is not dependent on whether you have
- 8:40money. [laughter]
- 8:45Joy is a decision.
- 8:51>> [screaming and cheering]
- 8:52[applause]
- 8:53>> This is not about philosophy.
- 8:57IT'S ABOUT THE JOY OF THE LORD, NOT YOU
- 8:59JUST BEING HAPPY.
- 9:04If then joy is everything,
- 9:08then you don't need to receive Christ.
- 9:17But joy now changes everything.
- 9:20to be joy inside Christ
- 9:25from perils. Your joy,
- 9:27not your decision
- 9:30to be happy.
- 9:35There are so many people just say, "Oh,
- 9:36[music] but he's so nice. He greets
- 9:38people
- 9:43loves people.
- 9:45He doesn't shout at anyone.
- 9:49He even respects Christians.
- 9:53Sometimes he even attends church.
- 9:57Will he go to hell?
- 10:01Yes. Next to to Hitler.
- 10:07[laughter]
- 10:10Why? Because salvation is about
- 10:12receiving Christ.
- 10:16You are nice and you are good. You don't
- 10:18need Jesus.
- 10:24Do you realize that the day you say you
- 10:27don't pray,
- 10:31any day you do not pray,
- 10:35you have told God, I don't need you.
- 10:42The highest level of pride
- 10:48Wow.
- 10:51>> Where you just wake up like, "Yeah,
- 10:56let's go."
- 10:59You go to [music] work, you come back
- 11:00home, you eat, you sleep.
- 11:03I'm telling God, I I can drive this
- 11:05[music] thing on my own.
- 11:10But for us, we know.
- 11:15So we need a deeper relationship [music]
- 11:16with him. Is not just happy.
- 11:26I
