3. 0:06Dudley visited the Gulf Coast Wednesday
4. 0:09during a stop at an autobond site where
5. 0:11workers have rehabed 80 oil tainted
6. 0:13Turtles Dudley the company's managing
7. 0:15director spoke with the head of the
8. 0:17operation and toured the facility
9. 0:20earlier in the day Dudley was tapped to
10. 0:22take the role of oilar who replaces the
11. 0:24company's CEO Tony Hayward widely
12. 0:27criticized for his handling of the
13. 0:29crisis think we can always do a lot
14. 0:31better everybody can do a little bit
15. 0:32better here and so we're going to be
16. 0:34working one of my jobs is to listen
17. 0:36really carefully to uh to be sure that
18. 0:40we're hearing things and then we can
19. 0:41respond and put all the resources of BP
20. 0:43into the unified Command Center to work
21. 0:45with the Coast Guard that's that's
22. 0:47really what we need to uh make sure
23. 0:48happens now Dudley did note that the oil
24. 0:51giant has taken the brunt of the blame
25. 0:53for the now two-month-old spill he's
26. 0:55focusing on the official government
27. 0:56investigation into the disaster which he
28. 0:59believes will hold other accountable as
29. 1:00well the Marine Board investigation in
30. 1:03New Orleans is a real substantive uh
31. 1:06investigation that hasn't seen very much
32. 1:09uh coverage and I think it is important
33. 1:11for people to listen to what's happening
34. 1:12with that meanwhile BP has also formed a
35. 1:15new outfit called the Gulf Coast
36. 1:17restoration organization an effort
37. 1:19Dudley says to show Gulf residents and
38. 1:21businesses that the company is here for
39. 1:23the Long Hall we're putting in place
40. 1:25something that will last for years to
41. 1:28once we stop the well clean it up up
42. 1:30restore the gulf and the only way to do
43. 1:32that is make it a permanent organization
44. 1:34so I hope that's the spirit of which
45. 1:36it's intended as for that containment
46. 1:38cap that had to be removed from the well
47. 1:41head on Wednesday Dudley cited safety
48. 1:43concerns as the basis for the decision
49. 1:46praising the workers who made the
50. 1:48decision and he said the containment cap
51. 1:50would be back in place and fully
