2. 0:052003 I was 13 years old and I was
3. 0:07surfing with my best friend it was like
4. 0:10a picture perfect morning it was
5. 0:13beautiful out and the water was just
6. 0:15Crystal Clear
7. 0:16Blue we were just surfing waiting for
8. 0:19waves and I was kind of sitting out
9. 0:21further than everyone else and
10. 0:25um within a split second the shark came
11. 0:28and took my arm
12. 0:32I didn't really have time to think
13. 0:35much right away I just knew I had to get
14. 0:39to the beach just to survive this
15. 0:42immediately my friends came and helped
16. 0:44me and I just kind of laid there and
17. 0:47just prayed the whole way and just um
18. 0:51asking God for
19. 0:52[Music]
20. 0:55help I had lost about 60% of my blood
21. 0:59and and as I was getting into the
22. 1:01ambulance there was a local paramedic
23. 1:04and he whispered in my ear and said God
24. 1:08will never leave you nor forsake
25. 1:09[Music]
26. 1:12you I gave my heart to Jesus when I was
27. 1:15about 5 years old and being able to turn
28. 1:18to Jesus during this crazy moment in my
29. 1:21life it gave me a sense of peace and
30. 1:23calmness and I think that's one thing
31. 1:25that just kept me
32. 1:27alive I'm 13 and I have dreams and goals
33. 1:31and I was doing really well with surfing
34. 1:33I didn't know if I was going to be able
35. 1:34to Surf again or
36. 1:39not surfing there's something just
37. 1:41really special about it the feelings
38. 1:43that you get when you're on a good wave
39. 1:45but just your adrenaline's just pumping
40. 1:47like the blood's just flowing through
41. 1:49your whole body every wave is different
42. 1:51it's not like every wave is the same and
43. 1:53being out there in the ocean and in
44. 1:55God's creation and it's like a gift that
45. 1:58he's given us to enjoy
46. 2:00I knew I wanted to continue surfing it
47. 2:03was more of like just waiting for the
48. 2:04doctor's orders to like allow me to go
49. 2:07in the water but I got out there and it
50. 2:09was pretty amazing experience just um
51. 2:12learning how to surf with one arm I mean
52. 2:14I knew how to surf but it was just
53. 2:16figuring out how to do it with one arm
54. 2:17and I ended up getting up on my third
55. 2:20wave and riding it all the way in and
56. 2:23right then I just knew I'd be saving for
57. 2:25a long
58. 2:28time

60. 2:46from what seems like such a horrible
61. 2:48thing God has just brought glory to
62. 2:50himself through me and um I've been able
63. 2:53to just be a good light to people and
64. 2:54share his
65. 2:56love I wake up every day and honor God
66. 2:59God in everything that I do and I may
67. 3:03fall short sometimes but all I want to
68. 3:05do is love
