- 0:00Hey traders, ever feel frustrated when a
- 0:02moving average crossover gives you a
- 0:04signal, but then price does the
- 0:06opposite? Today, I'll show you how to
- 0:08master the moving average crossover
- 0:10strategy in a way that avoids false
- 0:13signals, catches strong moves, and gives
- 0:15you real consistency. We'll break down
- 0:18how to read moving averages the right
- 0:20way, why most crossover strategies fail,
- 0:23and how to boost your win rate by
- 0:24following just a few key steps. Let's
- 0:27get started. First, what exactly is a
- 0:30moving average? It's a line on the chart
- 0:32that shows you the average closing price
- 0:34over a number of candles. It smooths out
- 0:36the noise and helps you spot the real
- 0:38trend. You can use a 20 period moving
- 0:40average for short-term trend, a 50
- 0:43period moving average for medium trend,
- 0:45and a 200 period for the long-term
- 0:47direction. If price is above the moving
- 0:49average, the trend is up. If price is
- 0:52below the moving average, the trend is
- 0:54down. Simple, but powerful. Now, here's
- 0:57where most traders mess it up. They see
- 0:59a crossover, like the 20 crossing above
- 1:01the 50, and instantly take a trade. Buy
- 1:04when it crosses up, sell when it crosses
- 1:07down. Sounds smart, but in reality, it's
- 1:10risky. This kind of entry only works in
- 1:13strong trending markets. In a sideways
- 1:15or ranging market, you'll get faked out
- 1:18again and again. And if you're using too
- 1:20many moving averages, you'll get late
- 1:22entries and worse results. Also, trading
- 1:26the strategy on lower time frames,
- 1:28that's a trap. Lower time frames are
- 1:30full of noise and fake signals. You need
- 1:32a better way. Here's how professional
- 1:34traders actually use the crossover
- 1:37strategy. Use just two moving averages,
- 1:40a 20 period, and a 50 period. Stick to
- 1:43higher time frames like 15minut, 1 hour,
- 1:46or even 4hour. This gives cleaner, more
- 1:50reliable signals. And now the golden
- 1:54rule, only trade the next
- 1:56crossover. If the last two crossovers
- 1:59were both
- 2:00successful, let me explain. Look back at
- 2:04the two most recent crossover signals.
- 2:07Did price actually follow through in the
- 2:09same direction after the cross? If both
- 2:12were profitable moves, you can trade the
- 2:14next signal with confidence. But if even
- 2:17one failed, skip the trade. This one
- 2:21filter will protect you from most bad
- 2:24setups. Let's walk through a real
- 2:26example. Imagine you're on a 15minute
- 2:28chart. You see the first crossover, 20
- 2:31crosses above the 50. Price continues to
- 2:34move upward. That's a win. Second
- 2:37crossover, 20 crosses below 50. Price
- 2:40drops afterward. That's another win. Now
- 2:43we get a fresh crossover upward. Since
- 2:46the last two were successful, we enter a
- 2:48buy. We place our stop loss just below
- 2:51the recent swing low and set a target
- 2:53that's twice the size of the stop. Price
- 2:56moves in our favor. Trade hits target.
- 2:59Clean win. Now imagine if the last two
- 3:02crossovers had failed. Would you still
- 3:04take the next signal? Of course not.
- 3:07This one simple rule filters out
- 3:09lowquality trades. Want to make this
- 3:12even more powerful? Add a trend filter
- 3:14using a 200 period moving average. If
- 3:18price is above the 200, only take buy
- 3:21signals. If price is below the 200, only
- 3:24take sell signals. It helps you trade in
- 3:27the direction of the larger trend. This
- 3:29one filter can turn a 38% win rate into
- 3:33a 48% win rate just by avoiding trades
- 3:37that go against the main flow. Combine
- 3:40this with the two successful crossover
- 3:42rule, and your strategy becomes much
- 3:45stronger. Here's another tip. Use moving
- 3:48averages as dynamic support and
- 3:50resistance. Price often reacts to them,
- 3:53bounces off them, or rejects from them.
- 3:56For example, if price keeps bouncing off
- 4:00the 50 period moving average multiple
- 4:02times, and you see an overbought reading
- 4:05on the RSI indicator, that's a high
- 4:08probability short. or if price dips to
- 4:11the moving average and the RSI indicator
- 4:13shows oversold, you've got a solid long
- 4:16setup, you're not just reacting to
- 4:18signals, you're trading with confluence.
- 4:22Let's recap everything. Use just two
- 4:24moving averages, 20 and 50. Trade on
- 4:28higher time frames. Only take the next
- 4:30crossover if the last two were both
- 4:32successful. Use a 200 period moving
- 4:35average to stay with the trend. Treat
- 4:37moving averages as dynamic support and
- 4:40resistance. These rules aren't
- 4:42complicated, but they work because smart
- 4:45trading isn't about being perfect. It's
- 4:49about stacking the odds in your favor.
- 4:51If this strategy makes sense to you and
- 4:54you're tired of getting faked out by the
- 4:56markets, start testing it. Back test it.
- 5:00Build confidence with it. And if you
- 5:02want more simple high probability
- 5:04strategies just like this, don't forget

- 5:10channel is all about real education, not
- 5:13hype. Thanks for watching and I'll see
