- 0:35Here we go, guys. Now we're getting
- 0:38somewhere. What's going on, YouTube?
- 0:40This is 903 Fishing. In this video
- 0:42today, I'm going to be showing you the
- 0:44easy way to make dough bait. Now, this
- 0:46doughbait can catch buffalo, carp, and
- 0:49catfish as well. Here are the things
- 0:52that you need to make this dough bait.
- 0:55Of course, you're going to need some
- 0:56water. We got yellow cornmeal, white
- 1:00flour, and this right here is the
- 1:02kicker. Cotton seed meal. Go ahead and
- 1:04show them that bag right
- 1:06there. Cotton seed meal. This is
- 1:09actually garden fertilizer. You can get
- 1:11this at any feed store. Okay. I actually
- 1:14got a 50 lb bag for about $14. Now, they
- 1:17do sell smaller bags, but it's just a
- 1:21way better deal to go ahead and get that
- 1:2350 lb bag. Now, that bag is going to
- 1:25last me for years. Okay. So, I won't
- 1:27have to invest in any more cotton seed
- 1:29milk in a while. All right. And of
- 1:31course, you're going to need your bucket
- 1:33or something to mix the dough bait in.
- 1:35We also have the garlic powder right
- 1:37here. Now, I'm basically going to be
- 1:39showing you two different versions of
- 1:41the dough bait. And one version of the
- 1:44dough bait consists of these three
- 1:46ingredients, the cornmeal, flour, and
- 1:48cotton seed meal. And then the other
- 1:50variation is just adding garlic powder.
- 1:52And I'll tell you why here in a minute.
- 1:54I was going to show y'all measuring cups
- 1:56and how much to put in, but honestly,
- 1:58who brings a measuring cup with them to
- 2:00the lake or to their favorite fishing
- 2:02spot? Nobody. So, I'm going to go ahead
- 2:04and set this to the side. We're going to
- 2:06start off with the flour. Okay, you're
- 2:09going to pour you some flour in the
- 2:12bucket. Now, the next thing you're going
- 2:15to add is the cornmeal. Guys, you're
- 2:17going to want about half as much
- 2:19cornmeal as you put flour. Now, you're
- 2:22going to have to eyeball this, okay? Put
- 2:25in it the
- 2:27cornmeal. I basically just cover up all
- 2:30the flour with one layer of cornmeal.
- 2:32And that that basically works most of
- 2:35the time, guys. Now, you're going to add
- 2:37your cotton seed meal. Now, you want
- 2:40about as half as much cotton seed meal
- 2:42as you put cornmeal. Okay? So, what I'm
- 2:45going to do is I'm just going to
- 2:48layer that
- 2:50bottom. First thing I do is I get my
- 2:53hand and I just go ahead and get I get
- 2:55everything mixed up really well. Okay.
- 2:59Get everything mixed up really
- 3:01nice. All right. Now, the next thing is
- 3:04we're going to add water. Okay. Now, of
- 3:07course, most people are are fishing
- 3:09making this, so just get water from your
- 3:11lake or your creek, whatever it may be.
- 3:15Start off with a little
- 3:17bit. And then you're just going to start
- 3:20mixing this just like some
- 3:25dough.
- 3:29[Music]
- 3:31Okay. Now, it's already getting somewhat
- 3:34consistent. Y'all see how it's starting
- 3:36to clump up just like, you know, dough
- 3:38would? Well, you're going to keep adding
- 3:42water.
- 3:44until you can get all of this
- 3:46dough to clump up together. Now, I'm not
- 3:50saying that you're not going to have to
- 3:52maybe add something a little later or
- 3:54anything like
- 3:56that. Now, some people say the more
- 4:00cotton seed meal the better.
- 4:03However, I wouldn't go with that
- 4:05necessarily. Okay? But you're going to
- 4:09keep massaging this dough and you're
- 4:12gonna try to get all of that in there.
- 4:15You're gonna try to get as much as you
- 4:17can with
- 4:22it. Just you just work it. All right.
- 4:25Now, normally this would take me about
- 4:27five minutes to make,
- 4:29guys. About five minutes. Now, let's
- 4:31reach in here. Let's pull it out. And
- 4:33there you have it, guys. Homemade dough
- 4:35bait the easy way. Okay. I don't know
- 4:38why some people try to add Kool-Aid
- 4:41powder and all this other things,
- 4:43wedies, frosted flakes. I'm not going to
- 4:46say I haven't tried those before, but
- 4:48this is the easiest way that I have
- 4:50found out and is guaranteed to catch
- 4:52fish. Guys, when you're done with this
- 4:54dough bait, you don't want it to be rock
- 4:56hard, but you also don't want it to be
- 4:58wet. You want it to have a nice
- 5:00consistency to it. Y'all see how that
- 5:02breaks just like
- 5:03that? You want it to have good
- 5:06consistency all the way through. You
- 5:08don't want clumps of cotton seed meal or
- 5:10clumps of flour in there. Also, guys, if
- 5:13you haven't seen my buffalo fishing
- 5:14video, it's on the channel. I would
- 5:16definitely recommend checking it out.
- 5:18This dough bait right here is used in
- 5:21that video, okay? Me and my dad, we
- 5:23caught buffalo, carp, and catfish as
- 5:26well. Once you get your dough in a nice
- 5:30big round ball like
- 5:32this, you're going to make you just a
- 5:36little dough ball off this big one.
- 5:38Okay, just like so. This is a number
- 5:41four treble hook. Okay, this is what I
- 5:43use for my buffalo and carp. You're
- 5:46going to want to just cover up that
- 5:49hook. Now, you may have to take a little
- 5:52off the end.
- 5:54You're going to want to cover that
- 5:57hook. You don't want to put too much,
- 6:00guys. And there you have it right there.
- 6:02Homemade dough bait. Cheap and easy,
- 6:05guys. I'm going to show y'all how I add
- 6:07my
- 6:08garlic. So, if you're trying to target
- 6:11catfish, and I can I can guarantee you
- 6:14this recipe catches catfish, guys. What
- 6:17I do is I spread my dough out like so. I
- 6:21get the garlic
- 6:23powder and I spread it on there just
- 6:26like this right here. And once you have
- 6:28the garlic powder seasoned, go ahead and
- 6:31push it in there. Okay. Now, you're
- 6:36going to do the same thing. I flip it.
- 6:38Flip it over. Get that garlic
- 6:41powder. Season it
- 6:45again. And then you're just going to put
- 6:48put it in a bowl. So you have you have
- 6:51that garlic powder consistent throughout
- 6:54the dough bait. You don't want some with
- 6:56more, some with less. Okay? Remember,
- 6:58you're only going to do this if you are
- 7:00trying to target catfish. I appreciate
- 7:02you for sticking around and watching the

- 7:06dough bait the easy way. Okay, guys. If
