0:08to restrict speech on their platforms
0:10but they have also purported to be free
0:12speech platforms a place where anybody
0:14can post so long as you are not doing
0:15anything that is truly nefarious
0:18inciting violence so long as you're not
0:20doing anything that promotes terrorism
0:22so long as you're not doing anything
0:24that is outside of the general discourse
0:27so if you're insulting if you make jokes
0:28if you do that sort of stuff that sort
0:29of stuff is allowed by YouTube by
0:31Twitter by Facebook at least that was
0:33the promise well today YouTube basically
0:35reversed itself it reversed itself by
0:37going after a guy with whom I am friends
0:39steven crowder so steven is a comedian
0:40and that is his job he does comedy and
0:43his comedy is often edgy it's often
0:46racially tinged every time I am on his
0:48show for example he makes jokes about
0:50Jew gold it's just a thing that he does
0:52his lawyer he calls him half asian
0:54lawyer bill Richmond he describes one of
0:57his producers as quarterblack Garrett
0:59this is part of his shtick he is in fact
1:02a comedian when comedians are generally
1:04given more leeway to say things that in
1:06normal context we would find vile
1:08I would never describe anybody this way
1:09because I am NOT a comedian Crowder
1:11however is a comedian now this became a
1:13topic of conversation because there is a
1:16writer for voxcom which had there a
1:19couple of decent people working over at
1:21voxcom and then they're a bunch of
1:23really nasty cusses over at voxcom
1:26and one of those nasty cusses is guy
1:28named Carlos Meza now I did not intend
1:31on piling on Carlos Mazza
1:33the reason I didn't intend on piling on
1:34Carlos Mazouz because he had suggested
1:36that he was getting all sorts of threats
1:37no one should ever threaten anyone
1:39incitement to violence is not a thing
1:41that anyone should do nobody should
1:43target this guy nobody should be mean to
1:44this guy that's not a thing okay so I'm
1:47just gonna put that out there right now
1:48but Meza who describes himself in his
1:50platform jokingly as a Marxist Pig who
1:54describes himself on Twitter his handle
1:56is at gay wonk and who has in his
1:59Twitter profile Tucker Carlson is a
2:01white supremacist he decided that he had
2:04taken great offense at the fact that
2:06every time Steven crowd referred to him
2:08or one of his videos he referred to him
2:10with what I will use I will say the
2:12q''-word now the reason
2:14I say the q''-word here is because I
2:15don't know the rules change every five
2:17minutes I don't know when the word queer
2:19is considered insulting and when it is
2:21not frankly I just don't understand the
2:22rules so I'm just gonna go with key word
2:24because I don't understand the rules
2:25because Mazda himself calls himself
2:28queer all the time but steven crowder
2:30called him that in a joking way
2:31so what Mazda did is he took a bunch of
2:34clips of steven crowder calling him the
2:36key word and then he proceeded to clip
2:38them together and suggest that steven
2:40crowder was personally attacking him and
2:42hurting his feels now are those terms I
2:44would use for Carlos Massa no I wouldn't
2:46he's a gay guy that would only be
2:48relevant insofar as it's relevant to a
2:50story a crowd is a comedian it's what he
2:52does as I have pointed out a Carlos masa
2:55was so deeply insulted so deeply
2:57insulted that he went on Twitter and
2:59proceeded to post an entire thread about
3:01how evil it was that steven crowder did
3:03all of this stuff and then call for
3:05social media companies to ban steven
3:07crowder call for them to take all of
3:09steven Crowder's worked out no creditor
3:10has millions of followers his videos get
3:12millions of views and maza
3:14because he's insulted not cuz crowd were
3:16incited violence not because Crowder did
3:17anything that violates the law but
3:19because Carlos Mazda was personally
3:21insulted by steven crowder because Steve
3:22because steven crowder said mean things
3:23about him now Carlos Mazda goes whining
3:26to YouTube why don't they take down his
3:28videos and YouTube proceeds to basically
3:32cave - Carlos Mazda they say well you
3:34know Crowder hasn't violated any of our
3:36policies that require us to take down
3:37his stuff but we will de monetize all
3:41his videos now the way that it works on
3:42YouTube is that there are two types of
3:44ads there are ads that are within
3:45programs you know like when I read an ad
3:47on the show and then there are ads that
3:48run before a program you make a little
3:51bit of money as a YouTube creator for
3:52the ads that run at the beginning of
3:54your of your clip Mozza got YouTube to
3:58pull the advertising from the beginning
3:59of Crowder's clips to D monetize his
4:00entire channel the entire channel
4:03because Carlos Mazda was personally
4:05offended because steven crowder called
4:06them a name now this is horse crap hey I
4:09promise you I have been called more
4:10names than Carlos Mazda and it ain't
4:12close I've taken far more abuse from
4:14mainstream media figures than Carlos
4:16Mazda and it is not a close call at all
4:18I have never called for anyone to be D
4:21platformed I've never called for anyone
4:23to be demonetised
4:23I have defended people who differ from
4:25me politically from Alex Jones in my
4:27Logan
4:28when it comes to D platforming all the
4:29way over on the left two people like
4:31Sara's young of the New York Times who
4:33wrote anti white racist crap on Twitter
4:35I suggested she should not lose her job
4:37I defended Samantha bee from calls for
4:40her to be fired after she termed Ivanka
4:42Trump a feckless c-word because here's
4:44my view if you don't like these things
4:46don't watch them and if you're insulted
4:48by them tough welcome to being an adult
4:49welcome to being an adult grown human
4:52being who doesn't have to pay attention
4:54to insults yes you have a right to be
4:57upset about it but does that mean that
4:58you get to change the nature of these
5:00platforms that we all share together
5:01because you don't like what somebody
5:03said that's the way that this is going
5:06to work well Carlos Mazda went on am too
5:09DM today which is a BuzzFeed show and he
5:13then proceeded to explain that all of
5:15these platforms basically are Bank
5:16router they oughta ban everybody who's
5:18conservative who he doesn't like that's
5:20the way all of this ought to work
5:21the censorious left is coming for your
5:23social media platforms they are coming
5:24for your access to all of the shows the
5:26eleven they're not going to stop there
5:28here is Carlos Massa making that case
5:29today steven crowder is youtube's ideal
5:32creator he makes cheap long content that
5:35tons of people want to subscribe to
5:36he sells shirts on the platform to say
5:38socialism is perfect so you tube
5:40continues to allow he is what an ideal
5:43YouTube creator looks like and YouTube's
5:45branding about caring about queer people
5:46is meant to distract advertisers from
5:48the fact that they have no handle on
5:50their platform and that people who run
5:52ads on YouTube are gonna end up having
5:53their ads appear on videos with hate
5:55speech and bigoted draftsmen of free
5:57people and marginalized communities so
5:59in response to this YouTube decides we
6:01can't ban Crowder but what we can do is
6:02pull down all of his all of his
6:05monetization and the media celebrate
6:06this they celebrate this miles of course
6:08goes on Twitter and then proceeds to say
6:10that Crowder's entire video stream
6:11should be pulled down and his entire
6:13video stream should be gone
6:14not just D monetized pulled down now let
6:17me point out who Carlos maza is he is a
6:19radical activist masquerading as a
6:20journalist all of these news pieces that
6:22I'm going to talk about call him a
6:23journalist he is not a journalist he's a
6:25radical Media Matters style activist how
6:28radical is he he tweeted just a few
6:30months back
6:31milkshake them all about people he
6:32disagrees with milkshake them o
6:33humiliate them at every turn
6:35make them dread public organizing so
6:37physically abuse people you don't like
6:39and there it was appearing
6:41on BuzzFeed BuzzFeed celebrating him The
6:43Daily Beast celebrating him because they
6:44don't like Crowder and therefore Crowder
6:45has to go by the way it is worth noting
6:48the Crowder shirt says socialism is for
6:50FIGS not for the the F word that is a
6:53slur for gay people now all of this
6:56should be deeply disturbing to YouTube
6:57is is moving up its move to basically
7:01ban videos according to the New York
7:02Times YouTube announced plans on
7:04Wednesday to remove thousands of videos
7:06and channels that advocate neo-nazism
7:07white supremacy and other bigoted
7:09ideologies now they are going to fit a
7:11lot in that other bigoted ideology
7:13section they're going to declare
7:14everything they don't like other bigoted
7:16ideologies the new policy will ban
7:18videos alleging that a group is superior
7:19in order to justify discrimination
7:21segregation or exclusion the company
7:23said in a blog post the prohibition will
7:25also cover videos denying the violent
7:27incidents like the mass shooting at
7:28Sandy Hook elementary took place YouTube
7:30did not name any specific channels or
7:32videos that would be banned but within
7:33an hour of YouTube announcing this they
7:35bans an independent journalist who
7:37simply did an interview with Richard
7:39Spencer critical of Richard Spencer the
7:42censors are coming led by people like
7:44Carlos Massa
7:45they are coming for the content that you
7:47like according to the New York Times the
7:50tension was evident on Tuesday when
7:52YouTube's had a prominent right-wing
7:53creator who used racial language and
7:55homophobic slurs to harass a journalist
7:57in videos on YouTube did not violate his
7:59policy so here's the way we're now gonna
8:00use the word harass not direct people to
8:02harass people not incite violence
8:03against people make fun of them if you
8:05make fun of somebody you are now
8:06harassing them
8:07according to YouTube and this is the way
8:10that this is now going to work
8:12YouTube was then ripped I love how the
8:14New York Times describes Crowder he is a
8:16comedian he does stand-up comedy shows
8:18his show is a comedy show
8:20they never described him as a comedian
8:21because if they described him as a
8:22comedian then they would have to come
8:24clean with the fact that YouTube and the
8:26left are perfectly willing to give free
8:27license to anybody on the Left who calls
8:29themself a comedian like for example
8:31here is a montage of comedians ripping
8:33president Trump in some of the most vile
8:34terminology any move toward censoring
8:37these folks on YouTube or T monetizing
8:38them here's Stephen Colbert you talk
8:41like a sign language gorilla who got hit
8:43in the head in fact the only thing your
8:44mouth is good for is being Vladimir
8:46Putin's pollster you know Ivanka that's
8:49a beautiful photo of you and your child
8:51but let me just say one mother to
8:53another
8:54do something about your dad's
8:56immigration practices you feckless cop
8:59and obviously I I hope India and
9:01Pakistan don't go to war but if they did
9:02go to war it would probably be the most
9:04entertaining war of all time yeah
9:05because the Indian soldiers would run
9:07out on the battlefield and that'd be

9:14take a second so if you laugh at that

9:21racist everybody in this audience is a
9:23racist none of that's gonna get banned
9:24of course that'd be terrible right

9:27a commentator so it's different and then
9:29the New York Times goes on in quotes
9:30Becca Lewis who's a research affiliate
9:32at the nonprofit data and society which
9:34is a garbage nonprofit which promoted
9:36the story earlier this year that anybody
9:39who had ever watched one of my videos
9:40ends up as a white supremacist basically
9:42or if you watch a Praeger video or a
9:43video by Jordan Peterson or Mark Levin
9:46or anybody else on the right now in a
9:48second I'm gonna tell this what Lu what
9:50this means for you because it does mean
9:51something really really important it
9:55doesn't mean something really important
9:56I'm just gonna know that the media who
9:57supposedly stand up for free speech they
9:59have a piece today by Eli Rosenberg at
10:01the Washington Post titled a right wing
10:02youtuber hurled racist homophobic taunts
10:04at a gay reporter the company did
10:06nothing the media are all in in shutting
10:08down other media companies so long as
10:10they don't do the bidding of the hard
10:11left if you're offended and you can call
10:13for YouTube to change its entire rules
10:15here's what this means for you Media
10:18Matters is looking not only to use sites
10:21like YouTube and Facebook and Twitter to
10:23shut down dissenting views they're also
10:25looking to go after advertisers that's
10:27the next step you've seen them go after
10:28Laura Ingraham you've seen them go after
10:29Tucker Carlson you've seen them go after
10:30Sean Hannity you've seen them go off to
10:32Rush Limbaugh the left the censorious
10:34left the Carlos Mazdas of the world over
10:36at voxcom the people over a Daily Beast
10:38the columnist for technology at the
10:40Washington Post reporters for the New
10:42York Times they are intent on destroying
10:44any possibility of you receiving the
10:47information you want from shows like
10:49this one they want it to be that my show
10:51is not available on the radio because if
10:54it's available on the radio then
10:55advertisers have to be punished they
10:57want to make it so that my show is not
10:58available on places like YouTube or
11:00Facebook or any other platform they want
11:02to make sure that certain messages are
11:04not heard they want steven crowder to go
11:06away they want dave rubin to go
11:08they want Jordan Peterson to go away
11:09they want everybody who is not a radical
11:12leftist to go away this is what they
11:13want and they will go after advertisers
11:15and try to destroy them they will go
11:17after platforms and try to destroy those
11:18too they do not give a damn they do not
11:21give a fig about free speech at all they
11:24don't care about platforms existing
11:26where we can have conversations and this
11:27is why I'm calling on you today I need

12:06I'm all for a free exchange of ideas I
12:07talk with people on the Left all the
12:09time I have never called free
12:10platforming of anyone right left or
12:12center on any of these tech platforms
12:14I've never called for an advertising
12:16boycott except to show that the left
12:19aren't the only people who can act in
12:20this way but the left don't care the
12:23left are interested in shutting down
12:24debate the left are interested in
12:25shutting down discussion there's only
12:26one way for you to stop that particular

13:15groups do anytime they're offended they
13:18call for free speech itself to be curbed
