0:38having a good week so far so good
0:41hopefully it's been exciting lots of
0:44stuff going on obviously like uh we're
0:48seeing markets coming back alive also
0:51are starting to run bitcoin's over
0:52990,000 bucks fantastic um you know
0:56things are moving with all including
0:58bats good to see um we saw on coin
1:02market cap the circulating Supply shown
1:05is 1.5 billion which is pretty awesome
1:08to see too um yeah and uh lots of uh
1:12cool things going um you know a couple
1:15of announcements before we have uh
1:18before we get uh going with the deck um
1:21a few bits uh one uh we released a
1:26feature called procedure of filtering
1:28filtering uh for braid which is pretty
1:30cool it's a way to handle um ad blocking
1:34uh rules a little bit differently um
1:37instead of these declarative rules
1:39basically can kind of look deeper in the
1:41page and and find things there's a bunch
1:42of good info on that I'm going to put it
1:44in the chat if folks want to check that
1:46out um also uh The Shred feature came
1:52out for iOS which is pretty cool um
1:56basically it's kind of a way to like
1:59shred after reading uh so that a site
2:02can't first party see what you're doing
2:04from page to page and this is different
2:06from you know Brave Shields blocks from
2:09all the third party uh you know tracking
2:12and scripts and all that but you know in
2:15Brave like the first party can still
2:17drop a cookie and things like that and
2:19so if you want to just kind of like
2:21leave a leave no shred of trace or
2:23whatever um I think Siobhan from our
2:26privacy team used an example of like uh
2:30don't worry about those like you only
2:32have so many articles left prompts that
2:34you get um because you can just shred
2:36away um the uh the first party stuff um
2:39so uh yeah I'll post a uh a link to that
2:43too for folks that want to see it um and
2:47then uh finally or not finally um we uh
2:51the I did an interview on the brave
2:53technologist with Luca Ness from pudgy
2:55Penguins um that dropped uh last
2:58Wednesday um and we uh they actually
3:02like the pudgy Penguins Community uh put
3:05together a pfp for brave that we put on
3:09our profile uh from uh Wednesday I think
3:12Wednesday to Friday which is pretty cool
3:14and I think that they're working on um
3:17making that a u uh something that we can
3:20cross over into um you know some of the
3:23house ads and stuff and and have that
3:25character get a little more active and
3:27see what else we can do there um I'll
3:29post a link to that one there um and
3:32then finally we had a um it was kind of
3:35cool and unexpected um I don't know
3:37who's who's got their mic on let me see

3:48you're not on in your in your car
3:50wherever like just meet yourself um but
3:52uh yeah so we um so I was checking this
3:56out and basically on the Shan Ryan Show
3:59they had a asked Eric bethl on who used
4:01to be a uh the director at the World
4:05Bank um he actually gave Brave a shout
4:08out said it was his favorite browser
4:10which was super cool and then he went in
4:11about and talked about bat which was
4:14unexpected um I tweeted that out and I
4:17had a uh uh I had a share from the
4:21moment in the time stamp there but that
4:22was pretty cool I think he's got over
4:24Sean Ryan has over three million um
4:27subscribers on his YouTube channel and
4:30uh has had a few other uh interesting
4:32guests and stuff on there so it was
4:34super cool to see that um and uh I will
4:37drop that in there and I think um if
4:39Jenny's here I can also hand that off to
4:43her to give uh the community
4:47updates yes hello I'm here um sorry I

5:19here oky
5:21dokie so starting off we have a couple
5:24of X spaces events um with UNF fungible
5:29this week produced by un fungible this
5:31week so tomorrow we are doing a panel
5:34called can defi be good for marketing
5:37and that's going to be with Luke bracket
5:39soulstorm lady Trader Ray I think bbop
5:43and Tabby and that's at uh 9:00 am
5:47Pacific 12:00 pm Eastern and then on
5:49Friday the 22nd this up up this upcoming
5:53Friday excuse me we have are we too
5:55early again with the bat Community team
5:58Kibby Foundation bit mask and cluster
6:01protocol and that is going to be at
6:0410:00 a.m. Pacific 1 p.m. eastern time

6:21here probably all of you know that we
6:24have a self custody rewards uh guest
6:28list that you can get yourself on if you
6:30want to Fast Track Your Way um into
6:33being able to connect your salana wallet
6:35your salana address to Brave rewards to
6:37get your payouts um directly to your
6:40salon wallet um and we've been using a
6:43block survey form to collect payment IDs
6:46from people who want to uh get early
6:49access to this new feature which is
6:50currently being rolled out worldwide
6:52slowly from Brave um I just first want
6:55to start by saying thank you to our
6:57amazing community members and
6:58ambassadors many of you on this call um
7:01and also I don't know if he's here today
7:03let me scroll Cay I got to give you a
7:06big shout Cay because you've been
7:07bringing in a lot of people so um 240
7:11people have signed up through the block
7:12survey for that we put together um a
7:15couple of months ago and we've just been
7:17sharing this like we've been pretty
7:20careful with how we're sharing this form
7:21you know it started off with just just
7:23ambassadors then we uh we posted it up
7:25on community. brave.com um we put it in
7:28a couple of other places but you know we
7:30haven't been screaming it from the
7:31rooftops or anything it's been pretty uh
7:34you know we've been sharing it through
7:35Word of Mouth
7:37primarily um but 240 people have signed
7:40up through the form um just through Word
7:43of Mouth which is awesome I think um so
7:45yeah thanks C thanks to our ambassadors
7:47who've been um sharing the link
7:49spreading it around uh I oh so Luke Luke
7:52dropped it in the chat I was going to
7:53put it in there but yeah anyone on this
7:54call you know you're welcome to um sign
7:57up as well and we will Fast TR back you
8:00and um I also want to say that anybody
8:03who filled out the
8:05form um on or before Friday no November
8:0915th so the Friday that just passed your
8:12payment ID has been whitelisted so you
8:15should see the option to link your salon
8:16a wallet in Brave rewards uh make sure
8:19when you check for this that you're
8:20checking the correct profile um the
8:23profile associated with the payment ID
8:25that you submitted on this form um and
8:28then just a reminder if you don't fill
8:30out the form correctly meaning if you
8:32don't put down the person who referred
8:34you or you put a typo in your payment ID
8:36then of course you won't be whitelisted
8:39so make sure to double check and if you
8:41think you were supposed to have received
8:42an invite but haven't then you know
8:45resubmit and just double check your
8:46responses before you do that um and then
8:50last thing I'll say about this for this
8:51slide at least is that the form is
8:53totally optional like I said earlier
8:55Brave is rolling out uh the salana
8:57wallet linking option GL globally slowly
9:01um and so you can always just wait for
9:03that if you don't care about Early
9:04Access but if you do you want to try it
9:06out and you know other people who want
9:07to um get Early Access share the link
9:10with them as
9:13well and um in an effort to get more
9:17people uh testing as we roll out this
9:20feature uh a few of our bad ambassadors
9:22have requested localized versions of
9:25this blog survey form so we've
9:26translated the forms into their native
9:28languages and they're taking these uh
9:31forms with them to the various events
9:33that they host or that they attend and
9:35um are are getting users to sign up so
9:38so far we have uh we have Stan and
9:41exodus using the form that we made for
9:43Kenya we have yavas soup at ambassador
9:45from Turkey utilizing that one and we're
9:48working on uh localizing the form
9:51translating into even more languages for
9:53our ambassadors to use and bring along
9:55with them to their events
10:00and then I just wanted to highlight um
10:03because there were some people while I
10:04was going through the responses on the
10:05form uh some people were really standing
10:07out so um yeah I already mentioned but C
10:12uh you're responsible for almost 50% of
10:14the payment IDs on the form and that is
10:17in large part thanks to your posts on
10:19community. Brave so I just want to shout
10:21you out and say thank you it's awesome
10:25um Stan and exodus our bad ambassadors
10:27from Kenya have been primary recruiting
10:30students during uh kiboko DA's campus
10:33tour which they are participating in as
10:36representatives for bat and brave um
10:38they're also you know trying to engage
10:40users in Kenya which are uh in so in
10:43Kenya they're the region is not
10:45currently supported by any of our
10:47custodian Partners so trying to bring
10:50those users back into rewards and then
10:53um Drew Luke and I have been recruiting
10:57users through social media primar
10:59but also through our community
11:01collaborators and partners and then we
11:03have our uh other bad ambassadors who've
11:04been bringing in um lots of referrals as
11:08well and that's Keith aryaka and yasu
11:10and I see them primarily bringing in
11:12friends and uh people on social media
11:14and they're just doing a good job at
11:16spreading the word so I just wanted to
11:18highlight you all and uh also want to
11:22emphasize again that you can feel free
11:24to share this form link as well bring
11:27your friends um anyone who you know
11:29might be interested share the link with
11:30them the more the marrier at this
11:35point okay um moving on this is a post
11:39that I came across on Reddit last night
11:4121 hours ago it was posted um it was on
11:45the subreddit called life Pro tips and
11:47this person was giving advice a pro tip
11:51about how to block those annoying
11:53targeted ads on Facebook after you've
11:55Googled something and of course I saw
11:58that and I thought perfect opportunity
12:00for the community to get in there and
12:03mention Brave as an alternative so I'm
12:05going to drop the link to this post in
12:06the chat so uh bat and brave fans who
12:10are also redditors do feel free to jump
12:11in there are actually a couple people in
12:13the thread who already mentioned Brave
12:16um but you know it's it's always good to
12:19um to sound off in Threads like this
12:22because this one is it's got a fair
12:25number of upvotes and uh yeah it's good
12:27exposure so I'll drop the link in once
12:29I'm done uh my part of the
12:31presentation definitely check that
12:34out and as Luke was mentioning earlier
12:38we did a little pfp switch on the brave
12:42account last week and that came as a
12:46result of as Luke said a episode of the
12:50Brave technologist podcast that recently
12:53was released between him and Luca Nets
12:55who is the CEO of pudgy Penguins um so
12:58to sell celebrate that episode uh coming
13:01out pudgy penguins made us a
13:05customized Brave uh pudgey penguin pfp
13:09and uh we switched our brave Twitter
13:13profile picture to the penguin for three
13:15days and uh the Tweet about it as you
13:18can see uh on the right here we have the
13:20tweet that says going penguin mode for a
13:22bit thanks for the pfp pudgey Penguins
13:24and that tweet got loads of Engagement
13:27uh loads of activity lots of positive
13:30comments great feedback so um yeah to us
13:34I think that's like a green flag and
13:36shows that people are interested in a
13:39potential collaboration between us and
13:42paju Penguins so um stay tuned there may
13:45be more to come more bat stuff with Pudu
13:47Penguins as well not just brave but uh
13:49yeah I just wanted to highlight that and
13:51also mention that the interview between
13:52Luke and Luca is very good and that you
13:55should check it out
14:00all right GM over to
14:02you hello everyone don't have
14:06um an update uh like usual just want to
14:10showcase some things that uh I've been
14:11working on so overall it's just a a few
14:14designs that I've been working on the
14:15background uh with the end goal of uh
14:18promoting Brave whenever the opportunity
14:20Rises and generate a few a little bit of
14:22awareness for it uh I've seen a lot of
14:25new users are not still aware of Brave
14:28so this gives a a good opportunity to
14:30visually represent it or just hype it
14:33and maybe through this we can find some
14:35future utilities you can see that I have
14:38uh for this design in specific Ed a
14:40t-shirt it will be a theme that will
14:42follow through next designs it doesn't
14:44mean that there would directly be uh
14:47appil or uh merchandise pieces however
14:51it's something that uh I feel that they
14:54look good in it's just overall like a
14:56study or concept that I wanted to share
15:02this is I don't really know what to say
15:04like on top of the the slides I just
15:07truly wanteded to share uh how they look
15:10this is a cartoony one I know that um
15:14Braves Japan usually likes this so I
15:15might send uh this to the bad community
15:18in Japan see if they like them
15:21there next
15:23slide this is another one um this is
15:27based on um another design that I did I
15:30think for the second year of B toober
15:35which is during October daily drawings
15:37that I do uh throughout the month and I
15:41think this is from the second Year's
15:43collection it features one in the back
15:46one in the
15:47front and I like it the text could also
15:49change I think it's a bit cringy to have
15:51the be brave uh I think it works
15:54statically but change the text could be
15:57changed
15:59next
16:00slide this is another one uh this is
16:04neonik I also saw that um this could be
16:08done in embroidery which looks cool much
16:12cooler than just plain uh
16:14print next slide I would love to have a
16:18neon light you know with the with the
16:21Brave Lion Head yeah I I think that
16:24Samson actually has it in his office oh
16:27really not not as this one but I think a
16:31simpler one because I I remember seeing
16:33it sometime in the past whenever he was
16:36sharing he's off his
16:38face H okay he has a lot of merch
16:43fashion and sorry Brave fashion and uh
16:47cool gadgets and things like that I
16:49remember he also had like a Jujitsu gown
16:52not gown but outfit uh with dra and
16:55basic n token he just has a lot of cool
16:57stuff it's amazing
17:02um this is one uh from a design that I
17:07did for ambassadors uh but instead of
17:09going in a t-shirt I thought it would be
17:11fun to have it in a totebag I personally
17:13don't use totebags but if you do hey at
17:15least you can have a cool one with KY
17:17ass design in it that PR
17:21spray and this is basically just a call
17:24to action so if you guys like this uh
17:27and want to see more or if you see any
17:29design uh laying around the web for some
17:32reason or that You' like us to do
17:35something similar or just like to see
17:38our take in it doing something similar
17:41you can tweet it as at bad Community or
17:44just our own personal accounts and share
17:47it with us Make Some Noise about it if
17:48this is something that you'd like to see
17:50on a swag store let us know let Brave
17:52know let Luke know but and please do be
17:57polite yeah
18:01yeah this goes a long
18:03way I would love to see
18:05it and this last is Showcase the
18:09different traditional prints that we had
18:12covered in tro through our Channel at
18:15dp.
18:17house um one of our initial goals was to
18:21bring traditional Bri Nostalgia into
18:24nfts and into web Tre so this is
18:27basically what we have covered we have
18:29covered from left to right uh Zen a
18:32magazine basically the difference
18:33between a Zen and a magazine is that
18:35zenes are usually self-made and not
18:38printed by big machinery nor in big
18:41quantities are usually smaller portions
18:43that are made by the artist themselves
18:45and I TR to capture down on the
18:47collection that we did in bats over uh
18:50second one is the magazine third one is
18:53draa uh poster that we were meant to
18:56release uh on the 30th of uh October to
19:00celebrate the Halloween but I discovered
19:03that the 19931 movie of TR is still
19:06copyright if you can believe that it
19:08will stop being copyright in
19:112026 but it's still insane to me that a
19:14movie from 931 is still not public mind
19:18uh and the last one is the shrapnel it's
19:20like a toy um and it's not something
19:23that we have released yet it's something
19:26that we're still working out in the
19:27background due to the recent events that
19:28shrap is going through so we're just
19:30soaring these out just trying to
19:32understand the current position they're
19:33at and maybe then it's something that we
19:36can go back and
19:39pursuit that was it for my end I'll pass
19:41it on to B which is not here today maybe
19:44Janny can be better yeah batter is uh
19:47traveling so I'll cover his slide today
19:50uh basically brief update from bat
19:53ambassadors from batn we have some new
19:56Japanese bat ambassadors um
19:59who have recently joined the program and
20:01they are working on localizing uh the
20:03weekly meeting summaries from the bat
20:05Community call that are in yaka puts
20:07together in fact our goal is to have
20:09those uh translated into multiple
20:11languages not just Japanese but to have
20:14those summaries available to anyone who
20:16follows any of our regional accounts so
20:18we are going to be working on that over
20:20the next little bit um and then BN just
20:23made another note here about the self-
20:26custody application form which was
20:28translated into various languages as
20:29well um so that our ambassadors can help
20:32us recret uh recret what
20:35recruit um users in um in regions where
20:40um you know they may English is maybe
20:42not the first language and then um he's
20:45also working on a Archive of meme
20:49cutouts to lower the barrier to entry
20:52for meme creation so I'm not really sure
20:54what that means or what that is going to
20:56look like that's a bn's project pet
20:59project but um I have a feeling it means
21:02that you'll be able to meme more easily
21:04with assets that are already readymade
21:06for you and you won't have to reinvent
21:07the wheel every single time so that's
21:11pattern's

21:26week um this week is a little lighter
21:29for us
21:30um it's raining outside I guess maybe
21:34that's why
21:35um so we um you know let me first start
21:39by saying that we have launched a new uh
21:43Community uh telegram for everybody I'm
21:46I'm going to put the link in the chat so
21:50if you can
21:55please go and you know join the
21:57community we will be
22:00posting yes thank you we will be are
22:02posting uh you know just all kinds of
22:05you know announcements on there just you
22:07know stuff to you know better um you
22:10know be able to sort of like you know
22:12keep you know keep the community
22:14centered around all the different stuff
22:16we're you know doing in the community
22:19you know all the you know little events
22:21online or off um you know just a way to
22:25you know reach a a brand new audience
22:27you know not to bring in telegram too
22:30much
22:31again into the discussion but you know
22:34telegram is like a big has like a big
22:36you know crypto uh base and you know
22:39user base and you know like the E
22:41ecosystem is is also pretty you know
22:43crypto-friendly so you know we should
22:46you know we're you know hopefully trying
22:48to you know grow like a brand new
22:50audience a brand new user base uh
22:53through that um uh telegram channel so
22:57if you can please so join it uh be
23:01active in it and you know you know share
23:04it to your friends and and your family
23:06you know you know just kind of promote
23:08it um as you
23:10can uh moving on last week I told you
23:14guys that we had um as part of the
23:18kibok uh Stan and O Exodus in the
23:22University of
23:24Nairobi
23:26um where
23:29uh you know they they kind of you know
23:31gave a talk about about you know Braven
23:34and stuff I have some pictures in the
23:37next slide for you guys um unfortunately
23:41we don't have any stand pictures up yet
23:43because you know K had you know had not
23:47sent it back to us yet so it's only
23:50Exodus in in the pictures but next week
23:53I
23:54will I will you know you know post those
23:57pictures as well
23:59yeah and then uh finally we also spoke
24:02to ICP Africa um they were interested in
24:07you know um partnering with us and
24:10exploring you know Brave ads as well um
24:14you know this was also something that
24:15they you know as part of the kibok uh
24:20partnership they they saw how like
24:22fruitful that was for both parties so
24:25they were like okay we are interested in
24:27you know talking to you guys so um after
24:30the call last week which was you know
24:32went went pretty well they uh said
24:34they'll you know reach back to us
24:38in in about a week they wanted to go uh
24:42you know talk to like the leadership and
24:43stuff and you know see what their budget
24:46is and and so on and so forth so yeah uh
24:49here's the picture of you know here are
24:52the pictures of O Exodus our
24:56newest ambassador
24:58in uh Kenya giving a a talk on Brave and
25:04back to the you know students at the
25:07University
25:08um he said that he he um had them do a
25:13little exercise where they downloaded
25:15you know the browser and then used it to
25:17like go to YouTube and watch a video and
25:20then did the same thing with like a with
25:22chrome to you know you kind of see the
25:24difference and not just like you know
25:27ads you know reduction but also in like
25:29speed and and you know that that sort of
25:31thing you know how much data was you
25:33know used and and not and um you know he
25:36also had people like sign up to the um
25:40self- custody solution that we are you
25:42know you know trying out through you
25:45know like the blog survey and and uh and
25:49stuff so you know all in all was a a
25:51pretty good event I really wish I had
25:54like the the the stand side of it as
25:57well so I could also for you guys but uh
25:59we'll we'll have that next week so yeah

26:25things
26:26um the uh I think over the weekend the
26:30bra uh
26:32onchain uh or self- custody rewards were
26:36sent out um and in that one top picture
26:41it shows the holder uh numbers going up
26:43there um at that time so it looks like
26:46about 15600 new
26:50uh reward users looks like overall uh
26:55were added I think I'm not sure how many
26:57are actually
26:59earning from the self custody probably I
27:01think it's like four or 5,000 six I
27:03don't know something like that um but uh
27:07looks like those numbers are are going
27:09up so we got new holders earning bat on
27:12salanus that's that's good um and then
27:15in the bottom picture that's from uh
27:18Soul scan and just kind of in the
27:19analytics page and you can see this is
27:23for the three months one is like just
27:25token transfers and the values of those
27:28uh obviously uh part of that at the end
27:31there is because of the uh Rewards pay
27:33out but um much bigger and even before
27:37the Rewards pay out um you know in both
27:41token transfers and then uh Dex trading
27:46so looks like things are kind of tiing
27:48up uh probably you know a number of
27:49things is um the rewards PS going out
27:53the um Market's doing you know better
27:56you know the after election results seem
27:58seemingly and things like that and then
28:04also about
28:06minutes gotta mute
28:09Bud um and then also yeah with uh the
28:14community that the uh guano token it
28:17looks like uh they were sending out some
28:19to the rewards uh earners so
28:22um uh so maybe I think they say said
28:26they s out about 200 um so maybe you
28:29were lucky you see maybe you got some uh
28:32some guano if you're a uh self- custody
28:35bat rewards uh user check your wallet
28:39maybe you got some and then um and part
28:41of that uptick in twoo is because Dragon
28:44Dave uh one of the bat ambassadors uh
28:47was big into the uh liquidity pools and
28:49stuff he set up um a bat and guano
28:52liquidity pool uh which on salano was
28:56like I was looking at the numbers a
28:58little bit and
29:00um it's um was the third highest bat um
29:05liquidity uh in number of transactions
29:09and value of the transactions so
29:13obviously bat being utilized there um
29:17and so that's a positive and then also
29:21Dave which I'm going to call him farmer
29:24Dave instead of dragon Dave um I think
29:26he's setting up a
29:29a uh Farm where people that add to the
29:33bat and guano um liquidity pool they'll
29:37they'll earn extra rewards um of liuan
29:40rewards and I I think we'll have a we'll
29:42have him announce something about that
29:45here soon or you know get something on
29:47that I think it's going to run for the
29:49month of December start at like
29:50Thanksgiving and then go go through the
29:53month of December and um you know you'll
29:55just get extra rewards so it so
29:57encourages people to uh put their bat on
30:00the liquidity pools and things like that
30:02so yeah that's the updates I got looks
30:04like you know there's you know things
30:06going on it's you know uh it's not much
30:09but it's honest

30:47coin a great way they could get both
30:48retail and Su spy I think we're listed
30:51on like 200 exchanges and have a
30:54grayscale trust around it um you know
30:58feel free to reach out to any of those
30:59people as well um we're doing work with
31:03that every day and uh acting as if the
31:06team doesn't care is just nonsense um
31:08but you know no one's forcing you to be
31:09here either if you're just going to stay
31:11here and complain the whole time or you
31:12can um you know be productive if you
31:15want uh anyway uh anybody has any
31:18questions feel
31:25free I'm wondering if if uh so the
31:30recent announcement of uh spread on
31:34iOS it said that on the blog it said it
31:37was coming to desktop and Android too do
31:39you know if it's replacing for forgetful
31:42browsing because everything forgetful
31:44browsing can do is can be done in shred
31:47too or is it going to just supplement

32:22jump in and start talking about rewards
32:24I got a few things for you there go for
32:25it all right well uh first off I guess
32:28do you know what happened this month as
32:30far as the bigger delays on uh payouts
32:34we yeah yeah yeah there was like a issue
32:38with uphold too on on some of the custo
32:41processing that was taking place um it
32:43took them a couple days to process all
32:45the requests and I think they had a snag
32:48Mig process and had to rerun it so it
32:50took a little while and then uh there
32:52was a issue discovered on the self-
32:55custody side that took a little bit
32:57longer as well so um they work through
32:59those and uh have it figured out and
33:02patched over for the next month so it
33:04shouldn't take so long next
33:06time and speaking of um that I'm still
33:09trying to track do you know anything
33:11about these upcoming changes uh what we
33:15had I was trying to look for it so I
33:16could read it exact but um what they
33:19were saying is a lot of people including
33:22myself ended up with a lot less bat than
33:25what the browser told us that we earned
33:28and um what had been said is that oh we
33:32recalculated how that works there's
33:35going to be an adjustment going forward
33:37that should be more accurate but if you
33:39received less than you
33:41expected that that's just because of the
33:43change no you know and that's it uh does
33:46that sound about right though yeah I
33:49think they were working on some of the
33:51uh the ways that they're processing the
33:54payment calculation out and uh they
33:57found a couple of things that were like
33:59you know uh errors and implementation a
34:02couple of things like that that got
34:04adjusted and and fixed and also around
34:07some of the um the different ad types
34:09too um and yeah I believe that like they
34:12mentioned that going forward it should
34:14be more accurate there's been a bunch of
34:16like refactoring of the code base
34:19underneath the Hood um and uh Chris team
34:22been kind of digging in on a lot of
34:24areas to uh kind of get things as we get
34:27more and more user on chain getting
34:28stuff more scalable um looking at a lot
34:31of the old code and kind of refactoring
34:32it a bit so um some of those things are
34:34coming up in that process and then uh
34:36when the ads team is also kind of
34:38optimizing on their side as well right
34:41and I guess I am trying to find the
34:43optimization I know back when I first
34:45started with brave I think a lot of us
34:48was averaging up to $5 a month in Bat
34:51right um now I was getting like six to
34:5510 bat per month which you know at the
34:58current ratings not much but now like if
35:01we refactor this last time I got three
35:04back in my payout so you know like what
35:0760 cents or something and a lot of
35:10people are saying that it it seems like
35:12we just keep going lower and lower and
35:15lower uh what's kind of going on with
35:18that that is starting to get more
35:20concerning even for me you know yeah
35:23some of it's like campaign uh sales were
35:25down for a while and then now they
35:27getting up and and so uh as we get them
35:30up the prices in increase on the
35:32campaigns too and like you know if you
35:35look back to the prior bull market when
35:37everybody was selling and Retail it was
35:40the campaign volumes were significantly
35:42higher so um that's part of what's
35:44happening now too we're seeing things
35:45warm up on the retail side and we're
35:47seeing more customer promotions and
35:50things like that that are typically gone
35:52um during the bare Market or are coming
35:54back in the PO market and so uh you know
35:56Carlos team are out there like bringing
35:58in a lot more sales to uh especially
36:00getting into like end of the year
36:02beginning of next year um so that should
36:04turn around pretty quickly but we also
36:06had some kind of reorg on the sales team
36:09side and and things like that that
36:10happened um over the summer and so
36:13whenever we have a couple of these like
36:15changes on the sales team side like it
36:17requires some time for the new people to
36:19come in and get ramped in some changes
36:21in strategy and things like that
36:28uh yeah all right great no I was looking
36:29I didn't realize my one button was muted
36:32so uh sounds good on that aspect again
36:35I'm having to hold out I know it's still
36:37averaging about the 0.005 bat so
36:39hopefully you guys can start trying to
36:40get those prices up yeah totally but uh
36:44yeah in any case uh shoot now if I can
36:47just remember what else I was gonna ask
36:49you but I guess I'll stop right there

37:12anybody what are your thoughts on the
37:15doj uh
37:17outcome or news story oh the Chrome
37:21thing yep yeah Brenan was commenting on
37:24that um a bit on Twitter uh May if
37:28somebody's got that handy we could drop
37:30it in the chat or I can I can pull it up
37:32um I think it's
37:33still not official yet uh and there will
37:37be more like when this happened with
37:39Microsoft in the past there was appeals
37:42process that happened where people
37:43challenge the initial decisions or the
37:45remedies uh and so you might see some of
37:47that happening I think in this case um
37:50it's interesting because there's like
37:53different sides of it like you have like
37:55kind of several monopolies Within one
37:58organization so there's the Play Store
38:00side the search side and the advertising
38:02business more generally and uh and so
38:06the remedies are going to be kind of
38:09fought over for a while um it's
38:12interesting on Chrome because I I think
38:14a lot of the advantage that Google has
38:16from chrome comes from the advertising
38:18business and and from the uh the search
38:20side and uh
38:22so Brennon had some feedback on that on
38:25on Twitter that might be worth taking a
38:26look at um from his side of of the world
38:29of you know going through this with the
38:31browser side and basically like um you
38:34know we'll see what stands up and what
38:36actually lands um a lot of people are
38:38pretty skeptical of the Chrome being uh
38:42you know getting rid of chrome being the
38:43remedy for it um and uh I think I think
38:46it's just going to take a little bit of
38:47time to figure it
38:52out so how do you how do you think bra
38:58can take advantage of the
39:02situation yeah I think like there's a
39:04few different ways like some of these
39:06remedies that shake out will get us a
39:08lot more exposure um earlier like what
39:11we saw in Europe where you have these
39:13Choice screens and I think that there's
39:14something happening with that uh in the
39:16next month or so where you users will be
39:20kind of uh prompted to pick a a
39:23different uh they have the option to set
39:25different defaults um and brav show up
39:27there whether it's search or browser um
39:30something like that might happen it's
39:31hard to tell in the US um there's other
39:33proposals that are floated out there
39:35like having kind of like a BC Corp setup
39:37where you can break up a lot of the um
39:40the the search market and and get better
39:43data bidding Fair bidding happening
39:45across entities so that you don't have
39:47one big entity just kind of controlling
39:49the whole thing uh that controls a bunch
39:51of the other areas as well which being
39:53Google um and so you know Brave can take
39:56advantage of these like one just by
39:59being in the conversation which we are
40:01and then two um these remedies are
40:03designed to like provide greater
40:06competition so having bravey in part of
40:08that is uh will be another way we can
40:10take advantage of that and then finding
40:12angles to like uh go after in public
40:16around those types of things um as they
40:18get more solidified it's like we'll be
40:21how we
40:22go thank you yeah yeah no problem uh

40:31the uh user numbers the ma and da
40:36numbers we have you know we're we're
40:39yeah we're switching this like from from
40:40one like formula to another and I I I
40:45don't think I really understood what the
40:46difference was um and you know why we're
40:49doing it is it like industry standard or
40:50something or did we just deci okay this
40:52is a better way to the visible versus
40:55the um the hisorical me is that what
40:58you're talking about yeah yeah so I
41:02think there's like different types of
41:04like there's like headless Chrome
41:06versions that run and and there are
41:08different uh signals that kind of
41:12are are
41:14less confident or we're less confident
41:17in I mean I think the the core is to get
41:19down about a year or two ago we kind of
41:22pivoted from ma as like the kind of
41:25leading metric to da but we've been
41:28reporting on Ma for a while um and so we
41:30kept that number going and then when
41:32Chris Moore came on as our head of
41:35growth um he wanted to drill down
41:37further into like getting the most you
41:39know reliable like the strongest uh
41:41number possible so he applied some
41:43filters uh based on what they had done
41:46at uh Mozilla to to kind of look at
41:48different ways that there are dark
41:50funnel traffic that come in so traffic
41:53that isn't is is active but isn't
41:56necessarily uh coming in through the
41:58brave website um and so we're basically
42:02like we rework that model for growth and
42:06uh into this visible funnel method which
42:09at the beginning of the year we'll we'll
42:10cut over to fully um and and kind of get
42:13rid of the historical or retire the
42:15Historical Method um basically the idea
42:20here is to kind of like get to the the
42:22highest confident number possible I mean
42:24like a lot of startups and companies
42:26will just like be way more into the
42:29vanity metrics where they'll just say
42:31look like well some even like talk about
42:33like downloads and things like that like
42:34we've never talked about downloads at
42:36Brave we've always been like started
42:38with like monthly actives um and then
42:40and then now we're even getting the
42:41daily actives um when I was working on
42:44growth we would look at like daily
42:46actives versus like you know daily
42:48returning users and then um also like
42:51what retention rates the users are are
42:53um you know how what's the percentage of
42:55them that are sticking around week by
42:57week um these are all things that we've
42:59like built out better tooling for over
43:01the years too so when we started we had
43:04a very simple um you know way of looking
43:07at uh monthly active users and kind of
43:09focus things around a single event and
43:11then over time our tooling got better um
43:14because a lot more people were working
43:16on it and so uh yeah basically like it
43:20it's towards getting the strongest
43:21number possible
43:23because if you can monetize a traffic
43:26like um you know if it's actionable
43:29right like then um it's going to be
43:31higher value to the company and so like
43:33kind of just getting the best strongest
43:35number out in the market is kind of what
43:36we're aiming to do there um and then
43:39really I mean like the da change was
43:41like the biggest one and so like we put
43:44a lot more emphasis on that and also on
43:46like you know queries per uh queries per
43:48day queries per month on the search
43:50engine um because we haven't always had
43:52a search engine so like having those
43:54things there you have much more of like
43:55a pulse on what's happening uh with the
43:59browser use on a daily basis which if
44:02you're trying to build something that
44:03people are using every day like focusing
44:05in on the daily actives is kind of like
44:07the uh the key there but we want to keep
44:10the monthly active numbers to people
44:12been following them for a long time and
44:14with retiring the Historical Method I
44:17think um you know giving people a full
44:19year of that and then starting the new
44:20year fresh with just the uh visible
44:22funnels kind of like part of why we're
44:24doing it that
44:25way yeah so the the primary difference
44:28is that dark funnel and we're not you
44:31know switching due to like public
44:33pressure or something we're just doing
44:35it to be like more precise in yeah
44:38exactly more precise and like to have a
44:40better signal right like so you know
44:42like it could talk like there's also a
44:44balance of just like look if you're
44:46trying to like what you got look at like
44:49why you're putting out numbers anyway
44:52right and so like if you're putting out
44:53big numbers that are not as real um and
44:57then you're using those and people are
44:59using those as a way to buy advertising
45:02or something right um they're going to
45:04base everything off of a bigger number
45:06than what's Real uh or or what's like
45:09what you're confident about right and so
45:11like if we're most confident about that
45:13visible number when it comes to like
45:15having customers that are you know uh
45:18generating Revenue with the company like
45:21let's go from the strongest number so
45:23that you're setting
45:25expectations as high as as accurately as
45:28you can right like because you don't
45:29want somebody to come and be like look
45:31like they got like you know 90 million
45:33users or something and it's really not
45:35that much and then they're like why
45:37isn't it performing as well as it should
45:40with that you know number of users so
45:42that's kind of part of it too is just
45:44like making sure that we're setting
45:46quality expectations with the with the
45:48broader community and and uh customer
45:51based yeah thank you yeah yeah no
45:54problem uh C you got who else is got a
45:57hand up too um Galapagos go to Galapagos
46:01yeah yeah um hey as um what's the um I
46:07guess what's the uh status of
46:09integrating bat rewards into brav search
46:14ads yeah so I think like right now we
46:17have search ads in five markets out of
46:20like over 170 and the team's been
46:24working on kind of like really dialing
46:26that in
46:27and uh also like we're going to have to
46:30add markets in over time too because
46:33with search ads it's search is one of
46:35those things where you want an ad to be
46:39as useful or like at parody with what
46:43the top of the search results going to
46:45be and there's like years of study on
46:46this so like if anything is off there
46:49people are just going to dump the search
46:51engine because people don't really
46:52notice the difference between an ad at
46:55the top of the search results or non-ad
46:57and you're not monetizing every single
46:59query so um the idea here is that they
47:02get it dialed in as much as possible and
47:04then uh we can work it into rewards like
47:06once we're there but it's not there yet
47:09and um it's not the entire user base
47:13either so um there's still a lot of work
47:15that's got to go into that um before we
47:18expand into
47:20there cool thanks yeah no problem C Ray
47:25yeah so search ads as actually one of
47:27them and as much as I know that we're in
47:29some of the markets is currently there
47:31is the toggle for it in our browser but
47:33of course it tells us that we can't earn
47:36so do we know how much longer until that
47:38will be activated for us to be able to
47:39earn from the search ads yeah I don't
47:41have a timeline on that yet um they're
47:44working on options around it but uh it's
47:46still uh too early to like put a time
47:49out on that one okay and should I rapid
47:52fire here or should we shift to bows who
47:54just raised his hand let's go to bows

47:58what's
47:59up any updates on the road map and also
48:03the state of the bat yeah both road maps
48:06in like a review right now uh it was
48:09hoping it would be out uh by now but
48:11there's a couple of pieces that the
48:13team's working on together on that and
48:15then state of the bat draft is uh in
48:17progress and hopeing to go to review um
48:20later this week so we're we're working
48:22on getting them out there in Earnest so
48:24that folks can have them to run with so
48:27can we safely Say by end of before the
48:30end of the year or yeah yeah yeah yeah
48:32yeah

48:57correct the the total yeah yeah the
49:02total and the max is is 1.5 uh and then
49:06um I think it's it's very close to that
49:08on circulating is that the real is that
49:12the real total or do that include like l
49:17or or burn or whatever it does not
49:22include that uh so uh lost like users
49:26that a claimed and and you know thrown
49:30their computer away or done that we
49:32we're not sure how what percentage of
49:34people that is um mainly because we
49:37don't really we don't track that um and
49:40then uh I know there's a burn address
49:43but outside of that I'm unsure of what
49:45percentage uh may have been burned
49:48otherwise and also like there are some
49:50things like um the the GU team made a a
49:53pool of like permanently locked bat too
49:57and things like that um I think you know
49:59we'll start to see other uh daps work on
50:03um ways to utilize bad and some of those
50:05things might be uh coming on the horizon
50:06too one thing we're really working a lot
50:09on now is working with daps that we've
50:10either partnered with or run ads with us
50:13or um have been parts of things like the
50:15wallet partner program on uh adding bat
50:18utility to the daps and then uh getting
50:21them in and helping them grow like is
50:23kind of like a reciprocal thing so um if
50:25they add utility will will uh you know
50:29either discount Media or uh or you know
50:32um form a deer partnership and and get
50:34add growth to their dap and to the
50:37utility of that too so we're working on
50:39things like that with folks in B&B chain
50:42on salana and um uh reaching out to
50:45polygon and a couple other chains uh
50:47where there are bat holders as well
50:56I go back to C if you have more
50:58questions
51:04C or anybody
51:07else we have nine minutes left sitting
51:09here talking and forgot I was muted all
51:11right so uh what I'll do is circle back
51:14around to um I guess what's the request
51:17I've mentioned it before but on our uh
51:21rewards when people are being flagged
51:23the browser will still show them uh ad
51:27and they'll see the number acrew as if
51:28they're earning but then when the
51:30payouts come they don't receive anything
51:33and this will continue indefinitely
51:36until until they discover that they
51:38should come to community where they post
51:41and then they'll be given a ticket you
51:44know link create a ticket and finally
51:47discover that they've been flaged and be
51:50told if it's going to be reinstated or
51:53not um needless to say it doesn't make a
51:56lot of people happy in the past there
51:59used to be a notification that would
52:02tell people they were flagged okay this
52:04was removed I don't know why is there
52:07anything we can do to try to get it you
52:11know whether it be during the payouts or
52:13whatever to where people can eventually
52:15be notified without having to submit the
52:17ticket yeah I think that would be a good
52:19step let me uh I'll put that I I'm
52:22meeting with Chris today I'll uh bring
52:24that up on my call with him today
52:27all right awesome and then if I uh do we
52:31know more on pay with bat I think was
52:34that not until onchain goes completely
52:37live or are we making more push to that
52:40we're making more push now I uh spoke
52:42with the product manager on uh premium
52:47this week and uh they have the back end
52:50work is mostly done there are some
52:52annual subscription uh work that they
52:55just pushed an update for and so as soon
52:58as they get the uh Kinks out of that
53:00they're going to push the pay with bat
53:03out um and uh and get that going so I
53:06think that they're making progress there
53:09um I don't have a specific date but I'm
53:11putting a bunch of pressure on them to
53:12get that out as soon as possible okay
53:15awesome and um then I was going to start
53:18deviating we've talked about uh Leo the
53:21AI and we know that we have the bring
53:24your own model B available for desktop
53:27do we know if that's ever going to come
53:29for Android or iOS by
53:32chance I believe so I'm not sure though
53:37what the what the status is on it or um
53:40if anybody else is aware let me know uh
53:42I I yeah I I'm not as sure on the
53:47timeline for that
53:49one okay and I guess then I was going to
53:52ask if we just completely deviate then I
53:55had a random request that I saw on
53:57community asking about like workplaces
54:00and all is that anything I I know we
54:02talked about a long time ago is that
54:04anywhere on a road map or what are the
54:06thoughts workplaces like uh well I think
54:10it yeah like you know I was it Facebook
54:12or something has workplaces or I forget
54:14what communities they have it to where
54:16like if you and your uh like your groups
54:20if it would have been sorry why am I
54:22drawing blinks right now like a notion
54:24or something like
54:27I'm not sure or like uh yeah let me try
54:29to pull up that and see if they did um
54:32latest
54:33topic got it d uh well I all right since
54:37I'm not seeing it right now essentially
54:39what it would have been is you know how
54:41some people like maybe you with Matt and
54:43Brendan or whoever you guys are working
54:46on projects you're getting together and
54:48maybe you sharing documents between the
54:50two of you and you might hop on to do
54:52like a brave talk but have that all in
54:54one isolated area
54:56oh I see yeah I I'm not aware of any
54:59plans on that front at the
55:03moment
55:05okay
55:11yeah anything uh any any other
55:16questions I I guess I can come up with
55:19something if no one else has anything to

55:26um someone just said uh when are we
55:30having tab containers and what are tab
55:32containers are those the groups that we
55:34can do on
55:36tabs uh I know there's like contain
55:39container browsing that like uh uh
55:42what's it called uh the container
55:44feature that Firefox has that people ask
55:47about every so often I'm not sure what
55:49that's exactly it that's exactly the one
55:51yeah yeah yeah I'm not trying to
55:54remember where what the what the go-to
55:56was on that but I'm not coming up with a
55:59with a good uh reminder of what that is
56:02so uh let me check back on that and and
56:04get back to you no worries uh another
56:06thing uh this is another question I
56:09think I have the the answer for it but
56:11why don't we have more customization
56:13unlik other browsers like opera or
56:16Firefox is this due to the bloat that it
56:19would add to the browser making it
56:20slower and not useful for every
56:23user no I think like uh it's been I mean
56:27I think more customization would be good
56:30um and it's something we should look at
56:33um I know there was a bunch of different
56:36requests for work on areas that got a
56:38lot of focus like vertical tabs and uh a
56:42bunch of other things and I know there
56:44teams working on things like split
56:45little split windows and um and then a
56:48bunch of the Leo work that goes into the
56:50browser has been getting worked on as
56:52well like I I think customization is
56:53like super important um and I there's a
56:56there's a push internally for it too um
56:59a lot of it comes down to just uh
57:00resources and and priority um and uh you
57:04know we've got like wallet and a bunch
57:06of other things too that have uh
57:08resourcing involved and um you know so I
57:11think yeah it's more a matter of like
57:14when than if um and and something where
57:17you know we're we're kind of
57:19prioritizing things uh and customization
57:21just has been something to get at but um
57:25there a lot of Works kind of like
57:26required into going to uh devoting to do
57:30more of it I think the team wants to do
57:31more of it though like and uh yeah and
57:33we're definitely seeing the feedback on
57:35it too so I know Keith was posting some
57:37good stuff and we saw a bunch of
57:39feedback from people on that that was
57:40super helpful and uh yeah it's been
57:43people been talking about it internally
57:44since then
57:45too thank you um I'll just add that one
57:49thing that I've been uh warning for
57:51quite some time already has happened
57:54which is a brave playlist now we have
57:56have it not only on iOS and on Android
57:59you can have it through nightly and on
58:00web you can also have it true nightly so
58:02I'm very excited about that yeah me too
58:04man like I think it's good and uh the
58:06team's been working on that one for
58:08quite a long time and uh has gone
58:10through a bunch of different you know
58:14surgeries on the back end uh and so yeah
58:17I'm looking forward to that one uh
58:19coming out too
58:21um very thankful yeah no worries man uh
58:25yeah I don't know Z you got one minute

58:29was going to do is respond on uh gu I
58:32don't know if you saw the link that I
58:33had posted but there was a community
58:36thing and uh we had Kyle uh Kaden heart

58:44that he was looking into doing like the
58:46tab containers and everything but I
58:49guess he was saying when an experienced
58:50Chrome engineer had taken a look they
58:52estimated it would take years to achieve
58:54it and that it was just a problem with
58:57chromium but I know they were at least
58:59saying that they were trying to look at
59:00what they could do as similar as
59:02possible and then uh yeah since March
59:06haven't really heard from them so I
59:07don't know hopefully uh maybe Luke will
59:10get in touch and find out more yeah yeah
59:13we'll
