- 0:00Most people screw up their first trip to
- 0:02Bangkok, Thailand. Jet lagged, book the
- 0:04wrong hotel, waste hours sweating in
- 0:06traffic, get scammed in front of the
- 0:08Grand Palace, and end the day on a squat
- 0:11toilet from dodgy street food. But
- 0:13that's not going to be you. You are
- 0:15getting the real plan that saves you
- 0:17time, money, and sanity. A proven 7-day
- 0:20Bangkok itinerary I've personally
- 0:23crafted from years of actually
- 0:25exploring, eating, partying, and getting
- 0:28lost. In this video, I will walk you
- 0:30through exactly what to do every day,
- 0:33where to stay, what to eat, where to
- 0:35drink, what to avoid, and how to move
- 0:38around like a local. All visualized on
- 0:40custom animated map I made for you. No
- 0:43stress, no scams, no Bangkok belly, no
- 0:46jail. Just an unforgettable first week
- 0:49with you in control, feeling confident,
- 0:51clued in, and loving every second. But
- 0:53be warned, you will become addicted to
- 0:56Bangkok. Let's start with day zero. This
- 1:00vast area is Thailand's capital. 50
- 1:03districts, over 1,600 canals, the river
- 1:06of kings. But you only need to focus on
- 1:09this area and this Suvarnabhumi Airport.
- 1:11By the way, in these videos, I explain
- 1:13the new arrival card and the best
- 1:15arrival hacks. Watch them later. A few
- 1:17tips before your flight. Leave your
- 1:18travel adapter at home. Leave your vape
- 1:20at home. Only travel with a backpack.
- 1:22Copy the ID page of your passport. Pack
- 1:24Imodium acute and take it after landing
- 1:27to strengthen your stomach. Download an
- 1:29e-sim card. Book an immigration fast
- 1:32lane service. Take cash with you and
- 1:34watch this video about essential
- 1:36Thailand travel apps. Day one, 1:00 p.m.
- 1:38This trip begins with landing around
- 1:40midday and a train ride on the Airport
- 1:43Rail Link to Makkasan Station. From
- 1:45there, subway to Old Town. Get off at
- 1:47Sam Yot. And don't worry, in this video
- 1:49I explain how to use Bangkok trains.
- 1:51From there, a 3-minute walk to 7-Eleven.
- 1:53Buy hygiene stuff, sunscreen, water, a
- 1:56nasal inhaler, ya dom, and for the jet
- 1:59lag, and original Red Bull that, by the
- 2:01way, was invented in Thailand. Next,
- 2:048-minute walk to your first hotel. Yes,
- 2:07first hotel. On day five, you will
- 2:09change your location. This shortens the
- 2:12time spent on public transport. Hotel
- 2:14link in the video description. 2:00 p.m.
- 2:16check-in, shower, pool. Expect 1,000
- 2:19baht deposit. By the way, why this
- 2:21specific hotel? Primarily because of the
- 2:23location. Take a close look at the map.
- 2:25Here's the hotel. There's Chinatown.
- 2:26Here is the subway station. There's the
- 2:28river pier. And here's a canal pier,
- 2:30right in the middle of it all.
- 2:32Yet still cozy. 4:00 p.m. Get ready for
- 2:35your first night in Bangkok. Drink your
- 2:37Thai Red Bull. Take 3,000 baht and walk
- 2:4020 minutes to Memorial Bridge Pier. Past
- 2:43this park, this temple, and this park.
- 2:464:30 p.m. You will see the Chao Phraya
- 2:49River for the first time, and you will
- 2:51also board a ferry. I explain how to use
- 2:53Bangkok's boats in this video. You now
- 2:55travel 19 minutes north on the orange
- 2:57flag ferry. It takes you past the most
- 2:59important cultural hotspots. This is
- 3:02Bangkok. Get off at Thewet Pier, cross
- 3:05this small bridge, through this market
- 3:07hall, and past this temple. You will be
- 3:09the only foreigner here. A great feeling
- 3:11that very few tourists experience. Your
- 3:13destination is this old restaurant on
- 3:16stilts by the river. 5:00 p.m. Order the
- 3:19whole crab, if it's available. Enjoy the
- 3:21food, the ice-cold beer, and the sunset
- 3:23around 6:00 p.m. But save room for a
- 3:25later snack. 6:30 p.m. As you set off,
- 3:29you will likely encounter a tuk-tuk
- 3:30driver. I'm usually anti-tuk-tuk because
- 3:32they are always a rip-off, but I know
- 3:34that you want to try it. For around 100
- 3:37baht, he should take you to Phra Athit
- 3:39Pier. You don't really want to go there,
- 3:41but if you tell him your true
- 3:42destination, the ride will cost 300 baht
- 3:44for 10 minutes. 7:00 p.m. Get off at the
- 3:47pier and stroll into the beautiful
- 3:49Rambuttri Alley. Pleasant walk past the
- 3:52massage parlors, street food stalls,
- 3:54sidewalk bars. Buy a drink and get your
- 3:57feet massaged outside. Bangkok slowly
- 4:00sucks you in. 8:00 p.m. Time for the
- 4:02backpacker strip, Khao San Road.
- 4:06No longer a relaxed hippie heaven, more
- 4:08like a binge drinking Benidorm laughing
- 4:11gas hotspot, but a great contrast to the
- 4:13quiet start of the evening. 9:00 p.m.
- 4:15Stay here if you like it. These bars are
- 4:17worth a visit. Otherwise, late night
- 4:20snack at Hero Mu Pla Ra, pork and beef
- 4:22barbecue, fantastic sauce, great staff,
- 4:25Netflix famous, even Thais love it.
- 4:2710:00 p.m. If you're tired, head to the
- 4:29hotel, but stop here by the big swing.
- 4:32There's a cool bar with a view over the
- 4:33square. One last drink and then off to
- 4:36bed.
- 4:46Day two, 7:00 a.m. Get up early, have
- 4:48breakfast, 8:00 a.m. 22-minute walk to
- 4:51the flower market. It's bustling and
- 4:53smells wonderful. Women are weaving
- 4:55flower garlands, vendors are carry piles
- 4:58of blossoms, hardly any tourists. 8:30
- 5:01a.m. 12-minute walk to Wat Pho, the
- 5:03temple with the giant reclining Buddha
- 5:05and the first of the three most
- 5:07important sites you'll see today. Then,
- 5:09a 3-minute walk take the four baht ferry
- 5:12to Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn, one of the
- 5:15three most extraordinary temples in the
- 5:18city. You'll see the other two later in
- 5:20the day and tomorrow. When you get back,
- 5:21it should be 11:00, 11:30 a.m. Hungry?
- 5:24Eat here at Rongros by the river. Then,
- 5:27Grand Palace, a 40-minute walk. Look at
- 5:29the green emerald Buddha in the Wat Phra
- 5:31Kaeo Temple and leave. 1:30 p.m.
- 5:338-minute walk to the amulet market. Buy
- 5:36a pendant for wealth or fertility. If
- 5:39you want more culture, the National
- 5:40Museum's great. After that, break at the
- 5:43hotel. You've seen and done more in 6
- 5:46hours than most tourists achieve in 6
- 5:48days. 4:30 p.m. Start of the second
- 5:51night in Bangkok. First stop, what?
- 5:54Ratchanaddaram, also known as the Iron
- 5:57Palace, Loha Prasat. It's a 10-minute
- 5:59walk. 5:00 p.m. Next to it, Wat Saket,
- 6:02the Golden Mount, 344
- 6:05steps up. Stay until sunset. Then, it's
- 6:08on to this chicken grill restaurant,
- 6:1017-minute walk. 7:30 p.m. Next to the
- 6:13restaurant is the world's oldest Muay
- 6:16Thai stadium, Ratchadamnoen. Book your
- 6:18ticket online, choose the cheap local
- 6:20section, watch a few fights, enjoy the
- 6:23live band whose music matches the
- 6:26action. A waiter will serve you drinks.
- 6:2710:00 p.m. Seen enough, head to Khao San
- 6:30or go back to the hotel. Or one last
- 6:32drink at Lila Bar, and then goodnight.
- 6:44Day three, 8:30 a.m. Memorial Bridge
- 6:46Pier, ferry destination, mega modern
- 6:49mall IconSiam. Not for shopping, but for
- 6:51the terrace with a breathtaking view of
- 6:54Bangkok. You need to order at least
- 6:56something to drink. If you're hungry, on
- 6:58the lowest floor is a street food
- 7:00market. 10:00 a.m. Ferry shuttle to
- 7:02Sathon Pier. 8-minute walk to Wat
- 7:05Yannawa, a unique temple that looks like
- 7:07a boat. 11:00 a.m. Ferry to Marine
- 7:10Department Pier, destination Talat Noi,
- 7:13a cool street art area. Noon, try this
- 7:16cute river restaurant and watch the
- 7:18boats go by. 1:00 p.m. Explore a bit of
- 7:21Chinatown in daylight with its crazy
- 7:23food stalls and exciting market alleys.
- 7:26And then, take the subway from Wat
- 7:28Mangkon, which means Dragon Temple, to
- 7:30Sam Yot. Have a break and take your
- 7:33clothes to one of these laundries. 5:30
- 7:35p.m. Subway, two stops, to Hua Lamphong,
- 7:39Bangkok's old main train station. Why?
- 7:41First, it's a little journey back in
- 7:43time. Second, it's a great place to
- 7:45people watch. And third, the national
- 7:47anthem plays at 6:00 p.m. Everyone
- 7:49stands up and stays there until the
- 7:52music ends. A very cool moment. 5:00
- 7:54past 6:00 p.m. Head along here past the
- 7:57Chinatown gate past this shrine. 6:30
- 8:01p.m. First stop, Shanghai Mansion, a
- 8:03live music bar in a design hotel. 7:00
- 8:06p.m. Second stop, this shophouse. The
- 8:08duck here is as tender as the sashimi.
- 8:117:30 p.m. Seafood either at TK or here
- 8:15at Fikeaw. The area is so photogenic.
- 8:19Walk around, take photos, try snacks.
- 8:218:30 p.m. For dessert, a must. Pink
- 8:24water chestnut with coconut milk at
- 8:27Sweet Time. 9:00 p.m. There are a few

- 8:48in, no. Walk 30 minutes to the
- 8:50magnificent Marble Temple, Wat
- 8:53Benchamabophit. Afterwards, stroll
- 8:55through the oldest market and eat the
- 8:58best pork and duck combination ever
- 9:01across the street. Then go to this canal
- 9:03pier and take the ferry one stop. Oh,
- 9:06break. 7:00 p.m. Last Old Town evening,
- 9:09two options. One, walk through this dark
- 9:12alley and trust me, end up at Jay Hong
- 9:14and her fantastic pan-fried noodles.
- 9:17Then head back to Chinatown. Two, eat a
- 9:19perfect beef noodle soup here and then
- 9:21do the
- 9:22Rambuttri Khao San tour again.
- 9:34Day five, 10:00 a.m. Check out. Time for
- 9:37change of location, but no hotel will
- 9:39let me in that early. I know, that's why
- 9:41you take the subway to Sam Yan. From
- 9:45there, it's a 7-minute walk to the
- 9:47institute, which makes snake venom and

- 10:06close look at the map. Lumpini Park,
- 10:08subway connection, and skytrain

- 10:29drinks. 7:00 p.m. Quick detour to Canal
- 10:32Park. 7:30 p.m. Dinner. My nearby

- 11:15Stadium and a 7-minute walk to Jim
