  1. 0:00couple questions and then you could just
  2. 0:02you know whatever you'd like to say. Um
  3. 0:05so I have really five questions but um
  4. 0:09do you want me to just go ahead?
  5. 0:11>> Yeah.
  6. 0:11>> Okay. So the first question is when you
  7. 0:14first envisioned the level conference
  8. 0:16what did you hope it would become after
  9. 0:19our first year has the vision changed or
  10. 0:21grown in any way?
  11. 0:24So
  12. 0:27the concept
  13. 0:29was a little bit along the live well
  14. 0:31magazine, right? Which which evolved
  15. 0:34because we offer all these free classes
  16. 0:38on improving your health and well-being
  17. 0:41and your giving you tools uh that you
  18. 0:44can use to um live your best life. And
  19. 0:50the idea behind the conference
  20. 0:53for me was, you know, there's a lot of
  21. 0:57us who have resources have access to
  22. 1:01learning about health care, learning
  23. 1:03about longevity, uh access to physicians
  24. 1:07when we need them, etc. And that's rare.
  25. 1:11Most people don't have that access.
  26. 1:13>> That's true. And the idea behind the
  27. 1:15conference is to make these tools and
  28. 1:18ideas and concepts accessible to
  29. 1:21everyone. So it was really around making
  30. 1:24sure that anyone at any stage of life
  31. 1:29could learn more about their personal
  32. 1:32health, their preventive care, and how
  33. 1:36to increase their well-being as they're
  34. 1:39on the journey.
  35. 1:40>> Awesome. Perfect answer.
  36. 1:43Okay. Uh, second question. Looking back
  37. 1:47at last year's conference, what stood
  38. 1:50out to you the most? What did you learn
  39. 1:53that you're carrying into this year?
  40. 1:59Um,
  41. 2:01and it could also be a question we toss
  42. 2:03if it's, you know.
  43. 2:04>> Yeah. Yeah. No, I like it. Except I
  44. 2:06don't know why my
  45. 2:08So, there's that.
  46. 2:11>> There it goes. I don't think this is it.
  47. 2:15This
  48. 2:16all makes noise.
  49. 2:25>> Just turning this guy off.
  50. 2:27>> Where's your printer down here?
  51. 2:29>> Okay. It probably just needs to be like
  52. 2:31turned on and off. Yeah.
  53. 2:32>> Yeah, I was doing that but it didn't.
  54. 2:34>> I wonder is it plugged in?
  55. 2:36>> Yeah. See if it came unplugged somehow.
  56. 2:39>> See?
  57. 2:41So, it is plugged in.
  58. 2:44And is everything else on it or not?
  59. 2:47>> Oh, you know what it says?
  60. 2:53>> User error. Nothing new. Um,
  61. 2:58what surprised me,
  62. 3:02you know, I was really pleasantly
  63. 3:03surprised by a couple of things. Um,
  64. 3:10one is the people who were there loved
  65. 3:15it. They got everything out of it and
  66. 3:17more. It it surpassed
  67. 3:20>> their expectations.
  68. 3:23And I think like me, they were saying to
  69. 3:26themselves, why isn't everyone here?
  70. 3:29More people need to see this. So the
  71. 3:32people that were part of Sun Health, I
  72. 3:34think felt a great sense of pride. But
  73. 3:35the other people were like, "This was so
  74. 3:38great. I'm so glad I didn't miss it and
  75. 3:41that you, you know, made me come or
  76. 3:44whatever it is." So,
  77. 3:46I think it was it was like, you know,
  78. 3:49trying a new flavor of ice cream that
  79. 3:50you've avoided and now they had it were
  80. 3:52like, "Wow, this was terrific."
  81. 3:56>> That's so true. Um and so you know that
  82. 3:59was uh and and I also feel like within
  83. 4:03sun health it changed the way people
  84. 4:06thought about sun health. So you know I
  85. 4:09think most people have thought of us as
  86. 4:11you know I I've been pushing this idea
  87. 4:14of healthy longevity. Um and I think now
  88. 4:18they were like I see what you mean. I
  89. 4:22get it. And so that was also for me very
  90. 4:26gratifying. I think everyone was like, I
  91. 4:28see where we're going now.
  92. 4:29>> I totally agree. I had so many people
  93. 4:31say, "Was this really just the first
  94. 4:33one? This was so organized." They loved
  95. 4:36it. Loved it. Um Okay. Uh third question
  96. 4:41is, "What can attendees look forward to
  97. 4:45that's new or different this year?"
  98. 4:48Um,
  99. 4:50I think the atmosphere will be different
  100. 4:53this year. Um, we're condensing it to
  101. 4:57one day. I don't think there will be a
  102. 5:00sense as much of you're missing things,
  103. 5:03which I think was the case last year. We
  104. 5:05were a little more spread out. So, we're
  105. 5:07compressing it. Uh it will be highly
  106. 5:10energetic
  107. 5:12and um
  108. 5:15yeah more of an atmosphere of
  109. 5:18boy I hope I can get in as much as I can
  110. 5:20in one day and so uh I think it'll be
  111. 5:24very gratifying.
  112. 5:25>> Awesome.
  113. 5:28And
  114. 5:30uh let's see. Live well is about helping
  115. 5:33people live healthier, more fulfilling
  116. 5:35lives. What does living well mean to you
  117. 5:37personally?
  118. 5:40>> That's a really good question. Um, I
  119. 5:43just got
  120. 5:47well, first of all, I've always been
  121. 5:51I'll say thinking about my per personal
  122. 5:55fitness level. I had great role models.
  123. 5:58My parents lived very long lives into
  124. 6:01their late 80s for my father and my
  125. 6:04mother was 98 and they were pretty fit
  126. 6:08almost to the end.
  127. 6:10And so, you know, a little bit of this
  128. 6:13is in my, you know, DNA in that I had
  129. 6:17really good role models about living a
  130. 6:19very active life for a lot of years.
  131. 6:23Um and then I became engaged in I'm a
  132. 6:27lifelong learner in learning more about
  133. 6:29this and I was on that journey before I
  134. 6:32came to Sun Health but Sun Health was a
  135. 6:36great opportunity for me to leverage a
  136. 6:39lot of that in a way that I could help
  137. 6:41the broader community.
  138. 6:44But I think it's really interesting. I
  139. 6:46am you know coming into a transition
  140. 6:49phase of my own. My husband will be
  141. 6:51retiring from his job and we're talking
  142. 6:53about boy, who are we becoming and what
  143. 6:56is our journey? Because if I'm anything
  144. 6:59like my mother, [laughter]
  145. 7:01I've got decades and decades left and
  146. 7:04what what do I want to make of them? And
  147. 7:06I hope everyone feels as optimistic
  148. 7:10about that as I do.
  149. 7:12>> I love that. Okay. And last one. Um,
  150. 7:17when attendees leave this year's
  151. 7:19conference, what is one thing that you
  152. 7:22would hope that they'd take with them?
  153. 7:24Whether it's an idea, inspiration, or
  154. 7:26simply just a feeling.
  155. 7:31I think most importantly,
  156. 7:36um,
  157. 7:37trying to think of the right word here.
  158. 7:40It's like a sense of agency
  159. 7:44around their own well-being.
  160. 7:47It is not up to your doctor to make you
  161. 7:49healthy.
  162. 7:51It is not up to your spouse to make you
  163. 7:55happy.
  164. 7:57It is uh you know not up to uh genetics
  165. 8:03to determine whether you have
  166. 8:05Alzheimer's. All of these are things
  167. 8:07that we can impact our own. We we have
  168. 8:10choices.
  169. 8:12>> We can make all of that better for
  170. 8:14ourselves, which some people might not
  171. 8:18like because they prefer someone else
  172. 8:20take care of this for them. But the
  173. 8:22reality is you have agency. You have the
  174. 8:25ability to make your life whatever you
  175. 8:28want it to be, including around your
  176. 8:30health, whether it's cognitive or
  177. 8:32physical or mental. And I want them to
  178. 8:35feel optimistic
  179. 8:37about that opportunity.
  180. 8:38>> [clears throat]
  181. 8:39>> and empowered
  182. 8:41to take the next steps to, you know, be
  183. 8:45on a journey that they can enjoy.
  184. 8:48That's awesome. Um, is there anything
  185. 8:51else that you want to add to make sure
  186. 8:53the community knows?
  187. 8:55>> I will be wearing fake eyelashes
  188. 8:57[laughter]
  189. 8:59>> when I speak.
  190. 9:02>> Oh my gosh, thank you so much. That was
  191. 9:05actually
