6. 0:15target of Brewing conspiracy theorists
7. 0:17after he was mistaken for a Neo-Nazi
8. 0:19that they thought was a fed and Elon
9. 0:22Musk Amplified those conspiracy theories
10. 0:24about this young man in July Vice news
11. 0:27reported it was halfway through the
12. 0:28Dodgers game he was attending with his
13. 0:30mother when Ben Brody realized some of
14. 0:32the worst people on the internet
15. 0:34believed he was a federal agent
16. 0:36pretending to be a Neo-Nazi 800 miles
17. 0:38away earlier in the day Brody a
18. 0:4022-year-old recent political science
19. 0:42grad from UC Riverside had noticed
20. 0:44people commenting on his Instagram
21. 0:46account and calling him a Fed but he
22. 0:48thought it was just trivial and would
23. 0:50blow over but while at the June 25th
24. 0:52game which saw the Houston Astros beat
25. 0:54the Dodgers his phone kept going off
26. 0:57until he and his mother realized
27. 0:58something horrible was underway before
28. 1:01they left the game their home address
29. 1:02would be leaked online by the time they
30. 1:04got home they decided they couldn't stay
31. 1:07there that night so the question is what
32. 1:09the hell was going on they're at a game
33. 1:11trying to enjoy themselves when his
34. 1:13phone is blowing up you have people
35. 1:15accusing him of being a fed and all of a
36. 1:18sudden he can't even return home because
37. 1:20the harassment got that bad what
38. 1:22happened well here's what happened as
39. 1:24huff post explains on June 24th members
40. 1:27of the Portland proud boys went to organ
41. 1:30City's first ever Pride night Fest to
42. 1:32disrupt the event and spew anti-lgbtq
43. 1:35plus rhetoric along for the homophobic
44. 1:37protest were members of the Rose City
45. 1:39nationalists a Neo-Nazi group that had
46. 1:41recently been involved in an online
47. 1:42dispute with members of the local proud
48. 1:44boys chapter Vice news reported at the
49. 1:46time the protest quickly devolved into
50. 1:49violence with members of The Proud boy
51. 1:51striking RCN members with American flag
52. 1:53polls and telling them to be gone [ __ ]
53. 1:56one still unidentified member of RCN is
54. 1:59seen on video being propped up by his
55. 2:00fellow neo-nazis after he had been
56. 2:02bowled over by the proud boys moments
57. 2:04later his mask is ripped off revealing
58. 2:07his face the blackhaired man bleeding
59. 2:09from his head looks bewildered in the
60. 2:11video as he goes to cover his face with
61. 2:13his hands now I can't play the video for
62. 2:15you since it depicts violence and that'd
63. 2:17be against YouTube's terms of service
64. 2:19but this moment on screen right now
65. 2:22where this Nazi was unmasked is crucial
66. 2:24because people on Twitter quickly tried
67. 2:27to identify this guy who again they
68. 2:29believed was a federal agent who
69. 2:31infiltrated the Nazi group to cause
70. 2:34chaos and make all of them look bad as
71. 2:36if they weren't already making
72. 2:37themselves look bad by being Nazis but
73. 2:40regardless rather than identifying that
74. 2:42actual person somebody online found Ben
75. 2:44Brody's information instead and falsely
76. 2:47claimed that it was him a claim that was
77. 2:49then Amplified by Elon Musk for example
78. 2:52this is a screenshot circulated online
79. 2:54where Ben Brody says that he is a polyi
80. 2:56major at UCR and plans to work for the
81. 2:58government after he graduates so I mean
82. 3:01I guess since he looks like the guy in
83. 3:03question and expressed his interest in
84. 3:05working for the government they took
85. 3:06this as confirmation that he was indeed
86. 3:09a Fed now the irony is that this photo
87. 3:11of Brody is actually a picture from his
88. 3:13Jewish fraternity so you have a bunch of
89. 3:15people online claiming that this Jewish
90. 3:17man is a Nazi but Elon Musk responded to
91. 3:20that post saying always remove their
92. 3:23masks so they thought that they
93. 3:25successfully identified this unmasked
94. 3:27Nazi who happened to be a Fed in their
95. 3:29opinion but in actuality they just dug
96. 3:31up the social media profile of an
97. 3:33innocent 22-year-old now Ben Brody tried
98. 3:36his best to tell them that this isn't
99. 3:39actually him because he was getting
100. 3:41harassment and once that started to gain
101. 3:43traction thanks to Elon he even gave
102. 3:46them evidence he shared uh debit card
103. 3:48receipts showing that he was in
104. 3:49California on the day that the fight
105. 3:51occurred in Oregon and on top of that he
106. 3:53posted a video of himself to Instagram
107. 3:56explaining hey guys that's not me I
108. 3:59understand that there's a bit of a
109. 4:00similarity in the way that we look but I
110. 4:03am a different person that's not me I'm
111. 4:04getting harassment please stop hey

113. 4:09I wanted to address the uh false
114. 4:11accusations against me um I wanted to
115. 4:14first off say that I am not a part of
116. 4:16the patriotic front uh as a member and
117. 4:19that that people who are claiming I am I
118. 4:22being confused with someone who looks
119. 4:24similar to me um and I've never been to
120. 4:27Oregon City for any protest whatsoever
121. 4:30recently I've just been so busy in terms
122. 4:32of
123. 4:33graduation from UC Riverside and stuff
124. 4:37like that I was you know I've been in
125. 4:38Riverside
126. 4:40only um this is just crazy to me and um
127. 4:45I graduated on June 21st and I've just
128. 4:47been hanging out with my friends and
129. 4:48then all these accusations are kind of
130. 4:50just crazy and and Incorrect and you
131. 4:53know I would U my family and I are just
132. 4:55being harassed completely and I would be
133. 4:58more than happy to to clear up any
134. 5:00confusion if necessary you know this is
135. 5:03just so ridiculous and I really just
136. 5:06can't believe this is happening to me

138. 5:10on the same day that Elon Musk Amplified
139. 5:12conspiracies about Brody being the Nazi
140. 5:15so how did Elon Musk respond once Ro
141. 5:18came out and said you've got the wrong

149. 5:36an antifa member but nonetheless a
150. 5:38probable false flag situation and then
151. 5:41he added Community notes presumably for
152. 5:43additional context about this individual
153. 5:45who he thought was identified by the
154. 5:47right online but there in lies the
155. 5:49problem there was already no evidence
156. 5:52that Brody was that individual in the
157. 5:54video even if they looked the same but
158. 5:56after Brody already came out and ident
159. 5:59ified himself as Ben Brody and not that
160. 6:02Nazi will musk continue to tweet about
161. 6:05him and to make matters worse for Elon
162. 6:07Musk he wasn't ignorant or at least
163. 6:10there was an opportunity for him to
164. 6:12inform himself because multiple users
165. 6:14warned him that he's got the wrong guy
166. 6:16Ben Brody is not that Nazi and his
167. 6:19tweets about him are causing harassment
168. 6:21and you're seeing a couple of examples
169. 6:22provided by huff post but Elon Musk
170. 6:25never corrected the record and to make
171. 6:27matters worse those tweets are still up
172. 6:29till this
173. 6:30day so Elon Musk ruined a kid's life
174. 6:34with a couple of tweets a couple of
175. 6:36Reckless tweets and now what well he's
176. 6:39being sued for defamation and Brody is
177. 6:41seeking over $1 million in Damages and
178. 6:44his attorney is Mark Bankston now we'll
179. 6:46get to Mark Bankston in a moment but he
180. 6:48made a lengthy Twitter threat about this
181. 6:50and he's going to take us through the
182. 6:52timeline and painstaking detail to show
183. 6:54us just how damaging this was and how
184. 6:57Reckless Elon musk's Behavior was he
185. 6:59writes the lawsuit alleges that on June
186. 7:0127th and yet another example of his
187. 7:03growing tendency to spread false
188. 7:05information musk falsely told the world
189. 7:08there was evidence indicating Ben Brody
190. 7:10participated in a violent Street Brawl
191. 7:11on behalf of a Neo-Nazi extremist group
192. 7:14on June 25th a Dogecoin themed Twitter
193. 7:17user showed musk a tweet from an
194. 7:18anonymous right-wing extremist grer
195. 7:20account making the accusation against
196. 7:22Ben broy which included screenshots of
197. 7:25the fraternity social media post stating
198. 7:27Ben planed to work for the government
199. 7:29musk responded by stating very odd while
200. 7:31not yet defamation this was already
201. 7:33pretty bad musk was amplifying unvetted
202. 7:36slander against an innocent young man
203. 7:38being disseminated by an anonymous
204. 7:39extremist Troll and an anonymous
205. 7:41cryptocurrency fan as detailed in Ben's
206. 7:44lawsuit numerous Twitter users began
207. 7:46immediately informing musk that Ben was
208. 7:48innocent yet early the next morning on
209. 7:50June 26th musk also responded to Twitter
210. 7:53user Matt Wallace a cryptocurrency
211. 7:55YouTuber who frequently Vis for musk's
212. 7:57attention after Wallace tweeted the the
213. 7:59same screenshots noting that Ben planned
214. 8:01to work for the government that same
215. 8:03morning Ben made an Instagram video
216. 8:05trying to dispel the accusations he also
217. 8:07posted screenshots of debit card
218. 8:09payments in Riverside he even went as
219. 8:11far as to request video footage from a
220. 8:13restaurant he visited at the time of the
221. 8:14brawl which he also posted throughout
222. 8:17the day Twitter users continued to
223. 8:19inform musk that Ben Brody was innocent
224. 8:21and many of them provided a link to
225. 8:23Ben's Instagram video but it was to no
226. 8:25avail the following day on June 27th
227. 8:28musk threw the full full weight of a
228. 8:29celebrity behind the accusations and
229. 8:31defamed Ben he did it in a response to a
230. 8:34tweet from Anonymous blog Zero Hedge in
231. 8:36this case Zero hedge's tweet on June
232. 8:3827th stated Patriot front white
233. 8:41supremacist unmasked as suspected fed
234. 8:44musk responded to the Zero Hedge tweet
235. 8:46and he declared to the world looks like
236. 8:48one is a college student who wants to
237. 8:49join the government and another is maybe
238. 8:51an antifa member but nonetheless a
239. 8:53probable false flag situation now some
240. 8:56of those details were redundant but I
241. 8:57think that the timeline is really
242. 8:59important it's important to know when
243. 9:02musk made these tweets and when the
244. 9:04information was out there that would
245. 9:06have allowed him to educate himself and
246. 9:08correct the record in an attempt to
247. 9:10mitigate the damage now the actual
248. 9:12thread by Mark bangston is much more

326. 12:19happens you really love to see it now

328. 12:23case here with Elon Musk and Ben Brody
329. 12:25we'll have to wait and see because
330. 12:26defamation lawsuits are notoriously
331. 12:28difficult to prove in the court of law
332. 12:30having said that though if anyone is
333. 12:31going to be able to do it if anyone is
334. 12:34going to be able to hold Elon Musk
335. 12:35accountable I'm going to place my bets
336. 12:37on Mark bankson not only is he a
337. 12:39phenomenal attorney but he is a very
338. 12:41Progressive guy who just genuinely seems
339. 12:43to care about Justice and what happened
340. 12:46to Brody is awful it's a great Injustice
341. 12:49and Elon Musk needs to write this wrong
342. 12:52now whether or not this goes to trial is
343. 12:54a different story perhaps Elon Musk will
344. 12:56be inclined to settle I'm not really
345. 12:57sure we'll just have to to wait and see
346. 12:59you but I'm even more excited about the
347. 13:01prospect of Elon Musk facing
348. 13:02accountability especially after his
349. 13:04shenanigans that occurred this weekend
350. 13:06so for those unaware he showed up to the
351. 13:07Border wearing a cowboy hat backwards
352. 13:09like an idiot and he treated migrants
353. 13:12like there were zoo animals there for
354. 13:13his Amusement as Alejandra carabo points
355. 13:16out I don't think there's a better
356. 13:18picture that encapsulates the pure evil
357. 13:20of our system where the world's richest
358. 13:21man can live out his midlife crisis
359. 13:23playing a fake cowboy in front of
360. 13:25desperate and impoverished immigrants
361. 13:27while broadcasting it to the world to
362. 13:29incite hatred that's exactly what he's
363. 13:31trying to do in the same way that he
364. 13:32incited hate against Ben Brody he's now
365. 13:35trying to do that against immigrants
366. 13:37he's not done terrorizing innocent
367. 13:39people because he's taking pictures of
368. 13:41them specifically to demonize them and
369. 13:43perpetuate this myth that America is
370. 13:45being invaded by migrants when in
371. 13:47actuality these are human beings who are
372. 13:50desperate and they're looking for a new
373. 13:52life they're looking for a new home
374. 13:54after our country's policies destroyed
375. 13:57their homes destroyed their countries
376. 14:00and for this elitist [ __ ] to show up
377. 14:02and then take pictures of them and
378. 14:04dehumanize them and treat their
379. 14:05suffering as if it's some sort of a form
380. 14:07of entertainment is genuinely sickening
381. 14:09to me this man has enough money to feed
382. 14:12and house all of them for the rest of
383. 14:14their lives but what is he doing instead
384. 14:16he's taking pictures of them like
385. 14:18they're [ __ ] animals it's despicable
386. 14:21so even though a successful defamation
387. 14:23suit against him isn't even going to put
388. 14:25a dent in his wealth I mean again Brody
389. 14:27is asking for over a million dollars
390. 14:30that's nothing to Elon Musk that's like
391. 14:3210 cents to you and I just the mere
392. 14:34possibility of Mark bangston humiliating
393. 14:37him on the stand is exciting enough for
394. 14:39me right so Mark give him hell because

396. 14:45deserves the treatment that Alex Jones
397. 14:47got because he is a terrible person and
398. 14:49what he's doing is not okay and he's
