- 0:00he left Earth as an astronaut and
- 0:02returned a star himself but spending
- 0:05five months on the International Space
- 0:07Station has done a number on Chris
- 0:09Hatfield's body he spoke about the
- 0:12hardship of that adjustment today from
- 0:14Houston where he's in extensive rehab
- 0:16yet still made time to share his
- 0:19experiences kathern Cullen has
- 0:21more weightlessness is Cool Chris
- 0:24Hadfield calls weightlessness a
- 0:27superpower now his superpower is is gone
- 0:30today speaking from NASA's Johnson Space
- 0:33Center he described what it feels like
- 0:35to reconnect with gravity right after I
- 0:38landed I could feel the weight of my
- 0:40lips and tongue and I had I had to
- 0:42change how I was talking I hadn't
- 0:43realized I'd learned to talk with a
- 0:45weightless tongue so so the subtle
- 0:48things and the big things are taking
- 0:49some readaptation to get used to in fact
- 0:52it will take weeks of phys theapy to get
- 0:55back to normal Hadfield is also
- 0:57undergoing tests to see how five months
- 0:59in space affected him he says he is
- 1:01dizzy and sore but improving my crewmate
- 1:04he and I are sort of tottering around
- 1:06like two old duffers in an old folks
- 1:09home being back on Earth isn't all bad
- 1:12of course in space Hadfield spoke of
- 1:15missing Earth's smells our first true
- 1:18sense of being home was a uh a window
- 1:21full of of the dirt of the earth and and
- 1:24the smell of spring and the growing
- 1:25grasses in Kazakhstan wafting in through
- 1:27the open hatch the Canadian space agent
- 1:30says it's had more than 200 requests to
- 1:32interview Hadfield Hadfield suggests
- 1:34it's not him but what he saw in space
- 1:38that has so many so interested it's not
- 1:41just one thing there was beautiful
- 1:43imagery there's um there's poetry in
- 1:45what's happening there's purpose in
- 1:48what's happening there's there's a
- 1:49beauty to it there's hope in it he was
- 1:52asked about millions of dollars in cuts
- 1:54to the Canadian space agency Hatfield
- 1:56says the space business has always been
- 1:59uncertain
- 2:00the thing to remember is uh despite the
- 2:03incredible difficulty in making this
- 2:05happen Canada has laid a superb path
- 2:09over the last 50 years when asked
- 2:11Hadfield wouldn't say whether he'd like
- 2:13to head the agency which is looking for
- 2:15a new president he says right now he's
- 2:17just focusing on being able to walk

- 2:29says I took a few thousand more photos
- 2:32in space than I was able to post I'll
- 2:35try to update from here on out with at
- 2:37least one per day the first photo is
- 2:40from the Mongolian Highlands that's a
- 2:42frozen lake surrounded by sand dunes
- 2:45Hatfield also tweeted his first meal
- 2:48back on Earth
