0:00As you guys know, I am actually a pretty
0:02big fan of character designs from
0:05Pokémon games. Always have been because
0:07they almost always cook. They make
0:09really, really great stuff. And with the
0:11new Pokémon game coming out fairly
0:12recently, I figured why not actually be
0:16on time for once and talk about the
0:18brand new characters for Pokemon Legends
0:21ZNA right as the game has come out. I've
0:23seen some of them floating around on the
0:25internet and they're all super cute and
0:28I cannot [ __ ] wait to actually see
0:29all of these in detail. Some of these
0:31have renders, some of them don't. I got
0:33some from in-game screenshots. Shout out
0:35to Jagger for helping me get those.
0:36Spanish also helped, by the way. And
0:38yeah, for the most part, the Pokémon
0:40character designers do not miss. They
0:42make beautiful character designs. super
0:44cool themes, super great silhouettes,
0:46really cool colors, and in general, they
0:49have a really good grasp and
0:50understanding of what makes a character
0:52design really stick. So, I want to see
0:54if they did the same thing in Legend ZA
0:56because from the protagonist alone, I
0:58was already liking what I was seeing a
1:00lot. They were very, very good, both of
1:02them.
1:06Now, Paxton is in your typical Pokemon
1:09MC fashion, a kid wearing a hat.
1:11However, the thing I like about the ZNA
1:14character designs is that first of all,
1:16the characters look older. And second of
1:18all, they look so much more stylish than
1:21they've ever looked in any other Pokemon
1:22game. I am sorry. Normally, and compared
1:25to [ __ ] Scario, where the
1:26protagonists were dressed like garbage,
1:28the [ __ ] ZNA character designs are
1:31already incredibly stylish. Like they
1:33have the [ __ ] Zygarde color scheme on
1:35the jacket which is [ __ ] awesome. But
1:37they also have like really cool red
1:38accent sneakers, a cute little hat, like
1:42the [ __ ] red satchel, and just really
1:44nice balance of neutral tones versus
1:46very bright accents, which already makes
1:48it very fun to look at. He has big
1:50jacket, very like and like kind of
1:52skinny jeans, fluffy sleeves, a really
1:55nice silhouette he does. And the cool
1:56thing about the characters in DNA is
1:58that they're customizable. So this is
1:59what you start with, but you can
2:00basically make this character anything
2:01you want. But in the sake of like not
2:03taking 12 years just to talk about the
2:05MC. That might be another video. I just
2:07genuinely love how cute they made the
2:10whole thing look. Cute but stylish, you
2:12know? Also really nice touch to add that
2:14like little wavy pattern on the pants
2:16just to break up the monotony a little
2:18bit. So they kind of look like faded
2:20jeans but stylized faded jeans that
2:23makes them look way more interesting
2:25visually than a normal pair of pants.
2:27The sneakers are also really cool
2:28because these are sneakers that you
2:29would see someone wearing around the
2:31city. They're like fashion sneakers.
2:33They're not meant to be super bulky or
2:35for like hiking or anything like that.
2:36No, these are just stylish little baby
2:37shoes which are very cute. And the main
2:40thing I like about what this design is
2:42conveying is that it conveys high energy
2:44and it conveys like a certain
2:46playfulness that I think you can only
2:47really get from a Pokémon MC while still
2:49not making them look like they're 5. Oh
2:51yeah, that's Paxton. Let's see if Girly
2:53Pop matches the same energy, shall we?
2:54Oh, she's so cute. Look, I've already
2:57seen Harmony, but like seeing like the
3:00full render like Hold on.
3:04Now, I know that they're customizable,
3:06but I will say this, this design is
3:09baller. First of all, pants. Pants are
3:13good. Pants are [ __ ] great. Okay. And
3:15the design is actually very harmonious.
3:17Har. But she has some key differences to
3:20Paxton. The main thing being is they
3:22decided to give her pants cuz like if
3:23you're like a tourist in a big city,
3:25mama, the skirt vibe is not going to
3:26work for you. Like I'm sorry, I love
3:28dresses. I love skirts, but for walking
3:30around, they're not that comfortable.
3:32And I think that like giving her really
3:33wide uh legged jeans is a great fit cuz
3:37not only does it make does it look
3:38different than a skirt, but she [music]
3:40has bell bottom jeans, but does she have
3:43the boots with the fur?
3:44>> NO, THESE ARE NOT BELL BOTTOMS. You
3:46simple Oh god, I'm going to have to
3:47teach you guys about pants. These are
3:49wide-legged jeans. Bell bottoms are
3:51tight on the top and flare out on the
3:53bottom. These are not bell bottoms. But
3:55yeah, she has the same jacket XX packs
3:57on, but of course it's styled
3:59differently cuz girly pop. So she has
4:01the narrow part of the sleeves is
4:02actually up higher. That makes her wrist
4:04look really delicate. So the hands look
4:06really cute and girly. She has the same
4:08hat, but hers has the red accent. It's
4:10still foggly. All right, let's still
4:12take it off frame one, but it looks
4:14really good in the render. She's also
4:16fairly slim and you can really tell how
4:18like well fitted her outfit is like her
4:20t-shirt is just from the way that like
4:22they style the jacket alone. The thing I
4:24like though is just how girly this is
4:26despite the fact that this outfit is
4:28something that a lot of people would
4:29consider more traditionally masculine.
4:31And it's all in the styling. You have a
4:33cute belt satchel. You have the cute
4:36sneakers, cute little baby socks. You
4:38have a very tight fitted white shirt,
4:40the adorably fitted jacket, the adorable
4:43hat, the cute hairstyle. And I think
4:45that like harmony also captures that
4:47very playful spirit that protagonists do
4:48have in Pokemon. I know a lot of people
4:50don't like to hear this, but like having
4:52gendered clothes is not a bad thing.
4:53Showing off them curves is good. Showing
4:56off them Dorito body is also great. But
4:58the cool thing about DNA is that you can
4:59wear whatever you want. And I think that
5:01like having very clear-cut character
5:03silhouettes and outfits that actually,
5:04you know, flatter their body types and
5:07make them look stylish and cool is much
5:10better than the yeast school uniforms.
5:11Cuz that's what you want in an MC. All
5:13kids want is to be cool. And like if a
5:16kid is going to pick up this game and
5:17the [ __ ] MC is super [ __ ] stylish,
5:20obviously they're going to be super
5:20excited to play it. But yeah, I really
5:22like Harmony's design. I think she looks
5:24super adorable. It's so stylish. It's so
5:27fashionable. It's so cute. It's so girly
5:29pop. And like while I would change her
5:32outfit eventually if I had this game, I
5:34think that it's a really solid [music]
5:36starter ship.
5:38At first, I was kind of disappointed to
5:39see that the rivals were just recolors
5:41of the MC's. But thinking about it a
5:44little bit and having been told by
5:46people who have played Pokemon games
5:47much longer than I have that this was
5:49actually the norm in Pokemon games for a
5:52very long time, I they've kind of grown
5:54on me, especially because they gave them
5:55unique outfits. So, while the face and
5:57hair might be the same as the MC, the
6:00clothing is not. And I think that the
6:02clothing does a [ __ ] ton of work in
6:03making these character designs unique.
6:05But like the fun thing about Urban is
6:06just like how sport casual he is. Like
6:09my boy is in [ __ ] sweats. I'm wearing
6:11uh sweatpants like that right now
6:12actually cuz I'm wearing them from Goss
6:14are super comfy. If you guys want to get

6:18like the comfy sweats, the cute like
6:20trendy pink sneakers, the French colors
6:22on the shirt and that like little like
6:24cargo jacket. It's a really solid fit.
6:27He looks super laid-back, super casual,
6:30super go with the flow, but like at the
6:33same time very capable, a very capable
6:35rival/vestie, which I can definitely
6:38appreciate. Oh, the pink sneakers are
6:39everything. So far, from what I've seen
6:41is that he's just very reliable, and it
6:43shows in his design that despite the
6:44fact that he's really laid-back, he's
6:46very, very nice and reliable. I also
6:48really love his hair color cuz it's like
6:51blonde to like soft pink, and then he
6:53has like pink eyebrows. Isn't it cute?
6:56All in all, it's a really well balanced
6:57design and a very soft, approachable
6:59silhouette, which I think is the point.
7:01You know, [music] boring. No, you say
7:03boring, but you know what? I don't mind
7:04it. Although, I would love a [ __ ]
7:06rival that spits at me for other
7:08reasons. Tony looks so trendy and so
7:12[ __ ] cute and just so ready and down
7:15for anything. Like, hold on. Trying to
7:17go for Tony because like I think she's
7:18one of like the cutest rivals I've ever
7:19seen. Like,
7:21like Neimona was really cute, but this
7:23is like super trendy. I don't know what
7:25it is. Maybe it's the crop top or the
7:27little baby short shorts or like that
7:29like cute little [ __ ] bun on the top
7:31of her head. But everything about Tonnie
7:33says like I am going to go have a blast
7:38and I don't care how I do it. Like she
7:40kind of gives me the vibe that she would
7:41go get day drunk with you if that makes
7:42sense. [music] In a cafe in Paris
7:44somewhere. The sneakers are really cute
7:45because like they're the opposite of
7:46Urbane. Orbane had pink sneakers with
7:48blue laces and Tony has blue sneakers
7:50with pink laces. But unlike the MC,
7:54unlike Harmony, and unlike uh Paxton,
7:56she has really chunky sneakers. And the
7:58chunky sneakers make up for the lack of
7:59volume in her pants because she only
8:01really has like the little baby short
8:03shorts. Super leggy, super trendy, cute,
8:05and fashionable. Very uh go-getter, very
8:08energetic, but again, much like Urbane,
8:10reliable, laid-back, casual, very nice.
8:13I love the [ __ ] uh knit top that
8:16she's wearing as well. That happens to
8:17be a crop top. If if Pokémon weren't
8:20[ __ ] they would have given her a
8:21belly button ring. I'm sorry. She has
8:22that vibe. Tackiest little Clefairy
8:26belly button ring. There. There. Lily
8:29already getting ideas. I'm just saying
8:31what I'm feeling. Oh, Lita, my love.
8:34She's so cute. BUT THE TOP KNOT [ __ ]
8:36SENDS me the top knot and like the K-pop
8:40[ __ ] uh baby bangs are like, "No,
8:43comb them out. That looks greasy. Comb
8:45them out." As someone who's had bangs
8:48for a very very long time, but like only
8:49recently kind of got rid of them and you
8:51get like sweaty, your bangs like
8:52separate into sections like that and it
8:54feels so gross. But everything else I
8:57adore. Oversized hoodie, super tight
9:00dancy pants, super cute shoes with leg
9:03warmer, super dancy baby. Like, are you
9:05joking? It's so cute. She looks like a
9:08penguin. She's so cute. Can I say
9:10something though? For a dancer, the
9:12oversized hoodie with leggings vibe is
9:13something that is not done nearly
9:14enough. Normally when people design
9:16dancer characters, they make them in
9:18like really tight fitting outfits, stuff
9:20that shows off the nice body, but I
9:22think that like the big hoodie is good
9:23cuz like if you're not dancing [music]
9:25and if you're like not warmed up, why
9:27the [ __ ] would you be in like the super
9:28revealing clothing that are like
9:30clothing that's like skin tight? You
9:32don't really like get into the dancer
9:33fits unless you're like actively at the
9:35gym. So, the hoodie makes sense to me.
9:36It looks super [ __ ] cute, too. Lovely
9:39color scheme. Bright blue uh and like
9:41soft [music] orange. I see a hint of a
9:43honky down there. My favorite thing is
9:44the fact that there's like laces on the
9:46back of the hoodie that you could that
9:48means that you could cinch the waist in
9:49if you wanted. You could just pull on
9:50those in the back and the waist would go
9:52right in. I really love the silhouettes
9:54for the jacket so far because it just
9:56makes their hands look so delicate and
9:58for a dancer having them be super
10:00graceful makes a lot of sense to me. The
10:02shoes send me though like they could not
10:03decide between sneakers or chunky heels.
10:04I like them though. Like they're chunky
10:07sneaker heels thing and that she's
10:09wearing them with leg warmers which is
10:11so dancy. So, like you wouldn't know
10:13she's a dancer unless you looked closely
10:16and looked at her posing cuz her outfit
10:17is again very just comfortable athletic
10:20wear. I also really like her little hair
10:22clip matching her earrings. It's really
10:23cute. And the fact that like it ties up
10:25the color scheme really nicely because
10:27she has that orange on the bottom and
10:28then she has that orange on the top and
10:29it's super sweet. People say that like
10:32athletic clothing like sports clothing
10:34is kind like very frumpy. No, it is not.
10:36[music] I've seen some incredibly
10:38fashionable people in just athletic
10:40clothing. You just have to know how to
10:41style it. Naveen. Oh, I like his F. And
10:44again, another character that's in like
10:45pure athletic clothing with some formal
10:49touches cuz he's actually wearing a tie
10:51there and a little like dress shirt and
10:53some dress pants tucked into sneakers.
10:56But the big hoodie is a really great
10:58fit. I also really like his color
11:00scheme. He has a lot of color, orange
11:02and being like the main bright one, but
11:03he also has like the purple accent on
11:05the shoes which fit really really well.
11:07And the tie being green is an
11:09interesting color. It matches the emblem
11:11on the jacket, I would say. Oh my god,
11:13look at his eyes. That's so pretty.
11:16When it comes to like building a [ __ ]
11:18vibe and silhouette, the Pokémon
11:20character designers are very well-versed
11:22in doing this. You can tell he's a
11:23seamster. He has a sewing kit on his
11:25sleeve. He's also very fashionable, very
11:28accessory coded. He has accessories in
11:31his hair. He has like a little pin in
11:33his tie. Naveen has caused so much
11:35secondhand embarrassment to so many
11:37people in that I can see a bit of myself
11:40in him and I don't like it.
11:41>> Oh my god. Good. Not to mention all the
11:44other little details in his outfit that
11:45you can tell that he stitched onto the
11:46jacket himself which I kind of love.
11:49Yeah, he has a really nice sense of
11:50style and you can tell he's like the guy
11:52that like actually sews clothes for the
11:53team cuz I love the sewing kit. That's
11:55such a subtle but nice little detail
11:57without being super on the nose. He's a
11:59tier three sub. Oh, wait. So, they do
12:02the yono thing in this one. Also, Naveen
12:04is very, very cute. Another one of a
12:06friend group. I like the really nice
12:07contrast to Lita who's like the dancer
12:10with like Naveen being more drawn into
12:12himself, not as confident and not as
12:13like outwardly ready to perform. And it
12:15shows in his posture, which is really
12:16nice. It has like great design language
12:18in general, but Pokemon always has
12:20really good design language. AZ. Now, I
12:23do recognize that AZ is a [ __ ] fat
12:26spoiler for X and Y, but can I just say
12:30how much I love this gangly [ __ ] He
12:33has such a strong design from just the
12:36height alone. Knowing that he's so big
12:39though, that's what makes his outfit
12:41super interesting to look at. So, they
12:43got around the workound of just making
12:45him look like a Tumblr sexy man with
12:46just like one very, very long suit
12:47patchworking several suits. So he
12:50grabbed the sleeves from one suit and
12:54then the elbow and [ __ ] forearm
12:56patches from another one, the front of
12:58the torso from another one, and the
13:01knees from another.
13:02>> I'm still going to stand by that. I
13:03think as his best partner for Kajidet,
13:05if you ever want to do a comic of her.
13:07>> Oh, old old people [ __ ] wait, what
13:09the [ __ ] So like that's the way you get
13:11around that issue. And I think it was
13:12such a clever design element to give him
13:14a patchwork suit because yeah,
13:16realistically speaking, no one is going
13:19to make clothes that size. Not only does
13:21it give him like 12 times more
13:22personality, but it makes it look a
13:25little bit more realistic that Peepod
13:27doesn't have clothes that fit. The super
13:29long hair is really cool. He looks like
13:30serene and peaceful, but like he's had a
13:32troubled past, which is kind of like,
13:33you know, the point. He's old as dicks.
13:35Honorable mention for this [ __ ]
13:37creature that I love, Tubbit. It's so
13:40cute. Look, I know it's like a murder
13:42weapon or whatever, but I love her.

13:49that is a fit and a half. Oh, that's
13:52beautiful. I I can tell you immediately,
13:55detective PI, whatever the [ __ ] deal
13:57her deal is, immediately from the
14:00[ __ ] trench coat. Peacicoat rather,
14:03like that ass is where the polygons went
14:05to. I DON'T SEE AN ASS. WHAT? I need to
14:08see it. Look, if the child's like, "Oh
14:09my god, look at the hook." Like, I don't
14:11believe you. She looks lovely. I really
14:13love that little cropped [ __ ] coat.
14:16It's so cute.

14:21have a really nice contrast and a really
14:23good play on shapes. The coat is
14:25bulkier. It has a straight cut. It
14:28doesn't frame the body as much. And the
14:30coat really sells detective. But
14:31underneath it, there's a skintight
14:33bodysuit in a high contrast color that
14:36already draws the eye to what she's
14:38[ __ ] wearing. So, if you see that,
14:41you're immediately interesting because
14:42the outfit is interesting through shape
14:44and through color. I also really like
14:46the fact that like the inside of the
14:47gloves, like the palm of the hand is
14:49orange, cuz that ties with the warm
14:50tones in the coat and her hair clip.

15:07accents so much. They're so [ __ ]
15:08cool. She looks awesome.
15:11I haven't met him. I don't know what his
15:13damage is. I don't know what his deal
15:14is, but his design is so [ __ ] baller
15:16and he has such [ __ ] short king
15:17energy that I'm immediately sold. He's
15:19bottom. I think this dude is canonically
15:21like 55. I do not care. Okay, I don't
15:25give a rat's ass. You look how ratty he
15:27is. His design is phenomenal from
15:29theming alone. just from like the theme
15:31of Poison, the oozing [ __ ] details in
15:34his suit, in his hair, in his glasses,
15:38the color scheme, snake- like eyes, his
15:41mega stone is like on this [ __ ] label
15:43of his like very obviously poison themed
15:45coat. Like, damn.
15:48I cannot wait to meet him. Yeah, I'm
15:51sorry, daddy. For ly daddy, I like the
15:53vibe. I do. Like, I'm sorry, chat, but
15:55if he's even a little bit mean to me, I
15:56will fold like a paper napkin. HEY YO,

16:01make fun of me, but I'm right and I'm

16:06goat design. I love the poison theme in
16:08general. He looks so pissed off,

16:22DUDE. Can I just say how strong the
16:24[ __ ] theming is in this [ __ ] game
16:26that I was able to [ __ ] clock the
16:27typing immediately? It's something that
16:28older Pokemon games hadn't quite landed
16:31before like Gen 5. I think that like it
16:34wasn't always easy to tell what typing
16:36someone had based on their designs.
16:38Nowadays, it's really easy. So, Philipe
16:41has uh iron spikes in his beard. His
16:45hair looks almost metallic. He has
16:47steelely eyes. His shirt resembles chain
16:49mail. The suit has like [ __ ] like
16:51staples of iron and so does like the
16:53ties looks like it's made out of like
16:54ingots. He's also very like square
16:57shaped, very sturdy. Iron is super
16:59strong and sturdy. So like we're using
17:01shape language here to make the
17:03character look very like imposing,
17:04sturdy, and invisible.
17:06>> Fit him for cement shoes vibes.
17:07>> He looks like a mobster. Like isn't
17:08Corbo basically like Yakuza though? And
17:10the color scheme is also mainly very
17:13cool, very cold,
17:15metallic, icy, but he also has some warm
17:18undertones in like the pocket square and
17:21the tie. But Phipe, I really like the
17:23vibe for him because he has a really
17:24really strong tripping and I love love
17:27the shirt pattern that looks like chain
17:28mail. I would wear that shirt in a
17:30heartbeat. That looks so [ __ ] cool.
17:32Jet. Oh, I don't trust you. Your design
17:34is beautiful, but everything about you
17:36tells me old capitalist goon that's
17:39looking to be immortal and will [ __ ]
17:42sacrifice the whole city to get it.
17:44You're like the You know what? She
17:46reminds me of THE THE BAD GUY IN the
17:47Catwoman movie. Sharon Stone. You know
17:50the the the lady that like puts on the
17:52cream that makes her face

18:00You look so pristine and well put
18:03together. Like look, old ladies come in
18:05two flavors. Soft grandma, skinny scary
18:08grandma, and Jet comes in the flavor of
18:11skinny scary grandma. Like she looks
18:13kind on the surface, but her eyes are
18:14dead. I don't trust you at all. Also,
18:17your hair looks like a hat. How the [ __ ]
18:19does that work? Sharon Stone. I really
18:21do like the fit though cuz it's like a
18:23Chanel suit like styled to Pokemon if
18:26that makes sense. It's super [ __ ]
18:28cool with like the giant buttons and the
18:30giant label. Love the moon earrings and
18:33like the really cool pattern that like
18:34matches her company or whatever. Oh,
18:36she's married. Oh. Oh. Oh, she a [ __ ]
18:39old freak. Okay. And like the pattern on
18:41the suit is phenomenal. The silhouette
18:43is really good. Like she looks old
18:45money, which I like, but I do not trust
18:48her. Not even a little bit. Also a very
18:50icy color scheme as well. Very muted and
18:53cold. And she also has a lot of intense
18:56shapes in the design, but they are
18:59hidden in plain sights. That is a very,
19:01very cool detail. It's almost like the
19:03more pointy elements to Jet's character
19:06are like offuscated by round
19:08silhouettes. [music]
19:09And if she actually is the antagonist,
19:12then it's very likely that they were
19:13doing this on purpose to kind of hide
19:15the pointy bits. That's a really really
19:17great way to make a character that like
19:18seems off-putting and icy and you don't
19:20trust them but still make them be
19:23perfectly approachable. Vinnie. Oh god.
19:26Like Vinnie is funny cuz he's wearing a
19:27Tumblr sexy man suit, but like he's not
19:29Tumblr sexy man at all. What are those
19:31sideborns, mama? Oh, he has a man bun
19:34with like
19:37Man, I love Pokemon cuz only Pokemon can
19:40let me have a character with like a man
19:42bun and a [ __ ] Boui hair clip and
19:44make me think, yeah, bad guy. Sorry, I
19:46know he works for the old lady because
19:47he has a pin on his label that has like
19:49the company logo, but can we talk about
19:51how horribly good this color scheme is?
19:53Jade green with black and gold. Kill me
19:58now. It's so [ __ ] cool and bougie and
20:01rich. It looks so good. Also, his
20:03buttons match Jet's buttons, so like you
20:05can see them in a duo. Ooh, the shoes.
20:10I love me a guy in like a solid color
20:13dark suit with like colorful shoes or
20:15the colorful gloves. It always looks so
20:17great, but again, really cold color
20:20scheme, very icy.
20:22>> Love a guy who has cute plushies in his

20:26that he actually could be without them,
20:28which I think was done on purpose so the
20:29children would not see him and scream.

21:35like the 1960s aesthetic for her dress
21:37with the lab coat on top and the fact
21:39that most of her outfits very dark, but
21:40we did give her like a light coat for
21:43contrast.

22:30It's electric. The dark skin is a
22:32really, really nice touch. I love the
22:34pink accents in her hair. I love the
22:36lightning shapes everywhere in her
22:39[ __ ] hair and embossed into her
22:41hoodie.

22:53See, there's a lot of asymmetry in this
22:55one, but the shapes are so [ __ ]
22:58simple that it doesn't actually bother
23:00me because it's not distracting. And you
23:02want to have a character design with
23:03asymmetry, which is not a bad thing, by
23:04the way. I just dislike it like if every
23:06single aspect of the character design is
23:08asymmetrical, but if you want to have a
23:09character with asymmetrical elements,
23:11you can do them. But keep in mind that
23:13if you do too much, it's going to be
23:14distracting. And I think that the bulk
23:16in the asymmetry for Canari is in the
23:18lower half of the outfit and in the
23:20hair. So like the middle is fairly
23:21balanced. her hair asymmetrical colors,
23:24but symmetrical shapes. So, like it's
23:25really well put together. There is
23:27obviously a very bright color here,
23:29which is like the bright yellow of her
23:31hoodie and top. And they made the
23:32brightest color go right to her tail.
23:34That's where they want you to look,
23:35chat. And the rest of the color scheme
23:37is desaturated and pretty subdued, so
23:39you don't get distracted. She has some
23:40bonus arts, by the way. Oh my. No, she's
23:44a She's one of those, huh? Oh, she has
23:46merch of herself in her room. Oh, we
23:50love a narcissist. I am kind of obsessed
23:52with her. That's super [ __ ] cute. But
23:55like the only thing this room is missing

25:51just as chaotic as his granddaughter's
25:54except it's more chaotic in the sense
25:56that like it's wear and tear as opposed
25:58to like a style choice like Canary has.

26:46inverted color scheme. The entire fit is
26:48phenomenal. The faded tights, the big
26:51coat, the giant ribbon, the hat, the
26:54[ __ ] belt, everything about it is it
26:56is giving ghost hype. She looks
26:58perfectly gloomy and cute and adorable.
27:00And again, it's super cool because like
27:02she has like the main color scheme for
27:04the Pokemon all over her outfit, but
27:06they inverted it. Like they made the
27:08coat much lighter and yellow so it would
27:10not drown out the Pokemon. And I just

28:15to bruise it." He has a really, really
28:17strong silhouette, too. He has like his

28:24he's wearing the muscle shirt underneath
28:25instead of having the sleeves, too,
28:27which I think looks really nice. I also
28:28really like the sandals and like the

30:41planet and then just look at you and be

30:47one of those characters that's like in
30:48between purple and pink in terms of
30:50color scheme. So, this is not a pink
30:51thing. This is more purple than pink. I
30:53would not blame you guys for thinking
30:55she's a pink thing cuz it's like that
30:56shade of lilac and specifically that's
30:58almost pink but not quite purple. All
31:00right, next character. I think I think I
31:02know who it is. Uh I think it's right
31:04behind there but like let's look at it.

31:11Dragon type considering the stuff the
31:13incredibly sharp elements that Jinth
31:15doesn't have. But she looks so concerned
31:17that I feel like she constantly
31:19apologizes to weight staff for her
31:22master's uh use of like repeated gamer
31:26words slash not knowing uh that no means
31:28no. Remember what you said about Jess by
31:30you? DID SHE BUY THIS PERSON? I love her
31:33though. She looks super cute. I love the
31:36shorts. She looks like she's like insane
31:38when allowed to actually like cut back.

33:18his like design is more rounded out. So
33:20he definitely looks like he's been
33:21through some hard times if that makes

35:37simple outfit, but it gets the job done.

35:42such a cute outfit. It's a simple one,
35:44but it definitely gets the job done. I
35:46can't really tell what the typing would
35:48be for this one cuz we already have
35:50ghost. We already have dark. But it's
35:52still a very nice outfit. I love the
35:53dark lipstick. Fashion designer. Just a
35:55generic NPC. I like the dress. I think
35:58the dress is very pretty. I The tights
35:59are super cute, too. But I really like
36:00that the shoes match as well. He runs
36:02the fashion store for rich people. Her
36:03shoe is JUST PURE GLAMOUR. OH, SO WHERE
36:05JASMINE SHOPS? She looks at you and she
36:07goes, "Poor Claudia." This feels like
36:09the normal type person that you run into
36:11occasionally. Like the dress is super
36:12cute, but it's really really simple. So,
36:14when you're making NPCs, you don't
36:16really have to think a lot about like
36:17the nitty-gritty details. So, you
36:18usually will default to more generic
36:20clothing and stuff that has doesn't have
36:21a ton of stuff. But, I think that that
36:22works with Pokemon games because it
36:24really makes the characters that are
36:25like gym leaders and the MC's and like
36:27the rivals and [ __ ] You don't need
36:28every single NPC in a crowd to stand
36:30out. I think that My Hero Academia kind
36:32of has this problem sometimes that you
36:33look out into the crowd and everybody
36:35looks like a [ __ ] Looney Tunes
36:37character. Like, holy [ __ ] anybody
36:39could be the MC in this crowd. And while
36:42that is funny, it's not great for
36:44storytelling because while you don't
36:46want the spot the MC, you don't want
36:48that either. You need the MC be able to
36:49blend into a crowd but not be so easily
36:52washed out by the rest of the cast. And
36:54I think that Pokemon does a really good
36:55job in making sure that like your MC's
36:57are unique enough, but they still blend
37:00well into the crowd of employees. But it
37:01looks cute. It's a very nice color
37:03scheme. Very clean, just two, three
37:05colors. Uh, nice little baby haircut,
37:08boots, gloves, a very sweet little
37:10outfit. Kind of partygoing almost, but
37:12nothing to write home about really.

37:32I would call this entirely mily,
37:34although I definitely do see some uh the
37:37older vestigages in this character. This
37:39is a beautiful design though because it
37:41captures the energy of the OG Hexmaniac
37:44while still looking definitely more
37:47mature and definitely like a dark ghosty
37:50vibe. Super [ __ ] cool. Very sexy.

41:53nurse cuz she's supposed to be like a
41:54clerk of the shops, not so much just the
41:57Pokémon Center. It also looks like an
41:59old school apothecary while still being
42:00a very modern town which I love. But I
42:02really like this design minus the shoes
42:04cuz it just looks like very nursy but
42:06also not entirely a nurse. Also very
42:08French with the turtleneck especially.
42:09Super [ __ ] cute. And I think that was
42:11it for the trainers for Pokemon ZNA. The
42:13Pokemon design team doesn't [ __ ]
42:16miss. When it comes to designing
42:19characters, they have some of the best
42:21people I think in the game. such strong
42:24concepts, great themes, amazing vibes,
42:27amazing personalities. I haven't played
42:29the game things and I was able to clock
42:31most of these characters at a glance and
42:34that just tells you how strong the
42:35character designs are. And again, none
42:37of these are super complicated. Most of
42:39these are pretty simple. They're not
42:41overly busy. They don't rely on a ton of
42:43detail. They just know they have a
42:44theme, they have a purpose, and that's
42:46it. That's what you need to see.
42:47Honestly, it's kind of hard to pick a
42:48favorite here because of they're all so
42:50so good. But if I have to pick one,
42:53Kerbo, Canary, and Jess, I think for
42:56sure they're super strong. Their typing
42:58is like so [ __ ] on the nose and their
43:01personality shines through so brightly
43:03that despite the fact that I'm not going
43:05to get the game, I can't wait to
43:07actually see them in story as I'm going
43:09through like a let's play myself.
43:11They're just so well realized. It's a
43:13great set of characters, a great cast.
43:15The Pokémon design team really does know
43:16how to cook when it comes to stuff like
43:18this. I will always recommend people
43:20that if you're looking for inspiration
43:21for character design that Pokemon is a
43:22really really great way to go. I am so
43:24happy with most of these. They all look
43:26amazing. If you do want to get the game,
43:28which I personally won't be doing, but
43:30if you do want to get the game, I would
43:31get it just for character designs alone
43:32cuz they're very, very strong. And I
43:34think that's always a great thing to
43:35have is to have a game with just really
43:37good characters. But anyway, if you like
