2. 0:03oops well I had decided much earlier
3. 0:06even within the first hour of entrapment
4. 0:08that I would have to cut my arm off
5. 0:10except I couldn't figure out how to do
6. 0:12it by the final night that I was there I
7. 0:14was pretty sure that I was going to I
8. 0:16was going to die
9. 0:18the I was certain of that by the first
10. 0:20the first time I even turned the camera
11. 0:22on 24 hours into it I was going to die I
12. 0:24couldn't cut my arm off I would either
13. 0:26bleed to death before I could get to
14. 0:28medical help and then I realized the
15. 0:29knife is n sharp enough to get through
16. 0:31the skin or then it isn't sharp enough
17. 0:33to get through the bone there's the the
18. 0:35vision as I had of the little boy who
19. 0:38comes running over to me as i w i i saw
20. 0:40this uh kind of in a dreamlike moment of
21. 0:44the sixth day the fifth night that I was
22. 0:46there that it was um it was dark in the
23. 0:49canyon but I saw myself leave and going
24. 0:51into a living room and here I scoop up
25. 0:53this little blond haired boy and and I I
26. 0:55know that this is my future son here he
27. 0:57is I'm looking at him straight in the
28. 0:59eyes and then it was the epiphany of
29. 1:01realizing that I could break the bones
30. 1:03of my arm I didn't have to cut through
31. 1:05them with a knife I could break them and
32. 1:08from that point that it was just this
33. 1:09smile still today I look at it and I
34. 1:11wouldn't change anything that wouldn't
35. 1:14take a sharper knife wouldn't have a
36. 1:16jacket wouldn't take more water like I
37. 1:18just it had to happen the way that it
38. 1:20happened to me it's it's all been a
39. 1:21blessing but the gift of it is is that
40. 1:23it it it draws me out of my my daily
41. 1:27experience into a place of appreciation
42. 1:29and gratitude
