  2. 0:16when when I talk to other feminists
  3. 0:18about the men's Rights Movement they
  4. 0:20always say well you have to admit though
  5. 0:23that women have been more discriminated
  6. 0:25against no no no no see that doesn't
  7. 0:28even make any logical sense women have
  8. 0:30been more discriminated against well
  9. 0:33when you are discriminating against
  10. 0:34someone as compared to somebody
  11. 0:37else
  12. 0:39okay you cannot have sexism against
  13. 0:42women without having sexism against men
  14. 0:46right you can't right whether it's
  15. 0:48positive or negative sexism right is
  16. 0:51going to differ right um it's not the
  17. 0:54same as say black and white right where
  18. 0:56you can have all kinds of negative
  19. 0:58negative discrimination against black
  20. 1:00people had positive
  21. 1:01discrimination in favor of white people
  22. 1:03or Germans and Jews or what Aryans and
  23. 1:06Jews or whoever right like tribal groups
  24. 1:08when it comes to men and women who have
  25. 1:10always lived their lives together there
  26. 1:11has never been there was never some
  27. 1:13Society of only women and then men came
  28. 1:15along along and colonized them and
  29. 1:17enslaved them all and and it was like
  30. 1:19two tribes of people no we've always
  31. 1:20been one tribe there's no tribalism
  32. 1:23between women in that way and so sexism
  33. 1:28Works uh in such a way that sometimes
  34. 1:32the exact same perception of women that
  35. 1:35hinders them so you have Anna
  36. 1:38casparian um saying that it it it is
  37. 1:41difficult sometimes because people don't
  38. 1:43always take her seriously because she's
  39. 1:45fairly long young and she's
  40. 1:47pretty and one of the things that she
  41. 1:50does because what is necessary for women
  42. 1:52to be sexually attractive to men is to
  43. 1:55enhance their youth right when you look
  44. 1:58as young as you can to be as sexually
  45. 2:01attractive to men as you can and
  46. 2:03demonstrate your sexual attractiveness
  47. 2:05to other
  48. 2:06women okay so you can compete in that
  49. 2:09hierarchy because there is
  50. 2:11one you are also emphasizing the fact
  51. 2:15that you are not wise and you have no
  52. 2:17experience because you're
  53. 2:20young right and young people don't have
  54. 2:23that right but this is the price wom pay
  55. 2:25in order to be considered sexually
  56. 2:27attractive right and that's important to
  57. 2:29them it should be important
  58. 2:32because sex is a huge part of of life
  59. 2:36right now so she will be taken less
  60. 2:40seriously in uh in that
  61. 2:43context but when it comes to the context
  62. 2:47of if she's harming someone or if she's
  63. 2:51angry she's frustrated and she hits her
  64. 2:54child right people are not going to take
  65. 2:56her seriously the way they would take a
  66. 2:58man seriously in those contexts
  67. 3:00right uh people will try to make excuses
  68. 3:03for her they'll try to say well you know
  69. 3:06she's really stressed out and there was
  70. 3:08not really any harm done you know I mean
  71. 3:10it wasn't really that bad and and
  72. 3:13they've done studies that have shown
  73. 3:15that people witnessing the exact same
  74. 3:18actions right if it's a man or a woman
  75. 3:23they will always always judge the
  76. 3:25woman's actions as less severe less
  77. 3:27threatening less intimidating less
  78. 3:29violent
  79. 3:30than if it's a man doing the exact same
  80. 3:32thing right because they do not take her
  81. 3:35seriously in that way and that has a
  82. 3:36whole bunch of benefits right less jail
  83. 3:40time less likel of being arrested you
  84. 3:42know less lik likelihood of being beaten
  85. 3:45up because you were in a mood to start
  86. 3:48something right and you were you know
  87. 3:51jabbing your finger in somebody's chest
  88. 3:54right if you're a man and you do that to
  89. 3:56another man he takes you seriously and
  90. 3:58he knocks your clock
  91. 4:00knocks your block off right if you're a
  92. 4:03woman you can get away with doing that
  93. 4:04because you don't you aren't taken
  94. 4:05seriously that way and and so it
  95. 4:07protects women from a lot of harm right
  96. 4:11and when you look at men see the way
  97. 4:13around right men are taken Ser more
  98. 4:17seriously when they speak
  99. 4:18authoritatively when they're a news
  100. 4:20anchor when they're selling High ticket
  101. 4:22items like cars when they're doing the
  102. 4:23narration commercials right it's either
  103. 4:26a man or it's a woman with a deeper
  104. 4:28voice deep voice has definite
  105. 4:31psychological effects on
  106. 4:33people and uh so you have you have these
  107. 4:37different ways that men and women are
  108. 4:38viewed that can play out as positives or
  109. 4:41negatives depending on the context right
  110. 4:44so you can't even say there's positive
  111. 4:46discrimination and negative
  112. 4:47discrimination right what you're doing
  113. 4:50what you have to do is you have to say
  114. 4:51if there is X sexism against women then
  115. 4:55there is by
  116. 4:57definition X sexism against men
  117. 5:00like there's an equal amount of sexism
  118. 5:02against men there's an equal amount of
  119. 5:05discrimination whether it plays up
  120. 5:07positively or negatively look at look at
  121. 5:09how we think men are capable and
  122. 5:11self-sufficient we think they're so
  123. 5:13capable and self-sufficient that we can
  124. 5:14discriminate against them under the law
  125. 5:17with affirmative action for wom right we
  126. 5:21we assume those assumptions that
  127. 5:23feminists tell us for privilege male
  128. 5:25privilege we assume that men are so
  129. 5:28awesome
  130. 5:30that they're AR going to hurt if they
  131. 5:31don't get the job right they're not
  132. 5:33going to suffer if they don't get that
  133. 5:36job right and so it's okay to
  134. 5:38discriminate against them by
  135. 5:41law and discriminate in favor of women
  136. 5:44because in as feminists would describe
  137. 5:47it we see women as so incapable which is
  138. 5:50negative except we're willing to give
  139. 5:52them
  140. 5:54benefits because we see them that
  141. 5:57way okay and I'm just playing devil's
  142. 5:59advocate here because I know you're good
  143. 6:01at
  144. 6:03countering uh
  145. 6:06but what I'm gathering is that even if
  146. 6:08we look at uh one area that could be
  147. 6:11discrimination or or just a way that our
  148. 6:14gender is feeling um unhappy with their
  149. 6:16role or say youth for women it's like oh
  150. 6:20darn when you're only being looked at
  151. 6:21for your body but when it's to your
  152. 6:24benefit then you don't complain um so I
  153. 6:29in that but when we look at rights I
  154. 6:33mean there are many country not many but
  155. 6:35there are some countries that deny girls
  156. 6:39the ability to get an education most of
  157. 6:42those countries also have issues with
  158. 6:44boys getting an
  159. 6:45education um I I actually saw a poster
  160. 6:50by a feminist that was put out by a
  161. 6:51feminist group and it said X many
  162. 6:54million children worldwide are denied in
  163. 6:56education half of them are girls
  164. 7:00I'm like yeah no duhh okay um look at
  165. 7:04boam I mean you must have heard
