- 0:03branam a pharmacist by trade invented
- 0:06Pepsi it was his creative genius that
- 0:09took normal ingredients brought them
- 0:11together for refreshing beverage that
- 0:14entrepreneurial Spirit still exists in
- 0:16our company today PepsiCo is always
- 0:19evaluating new technologies that we can
- 0:21integrate directly into the PepsiCo ecos
- 0:24system the iPad and the iPhone have made
- 0:26life a lot easier the possibilities are
- 0:29endless
- 0:30[Music]
- 0:32at PepsiCo we have over 22 brands that
- 0:35do over a billion dollars in sales we've
- 0:37got divisions that operate on every
- 0:39single continent and we're in over 200
- 0:42countries worldwide in North America we
- 0:45run approximately 177,000 routes a day
- 0:49we have to get the products from our
- 0:51manufacturing and Warehouse facilities
- 0:53onto our trucks and into the stores in
- 0:56time to meet demand we have sales reps
- 0:59we have delivery dri SP merchandisers
- 1:01and all their activities have to be
- 1:03coordinated in real time before the iPad
- 1:06and iPhone the communication wasn't
- 1:08there you know drivers on the road and
- 1:09if you couldn't get a hold of them you
- 1:11really didn't know where the delivery
- 1:12was managers of merchandisers had to
- 1:14carry a briefcase that had all the
- 1:16paperwork that they needed now with
- 1:18iPhone and iPad technology we've really
- 1:21come a long way we developed three apps
- 1:23the custom app that we did for the
- 1:25iPhone's power for Merch it allows the
- 1:27merchandiser to start and end his day
- 1:29right there on the iPhone he has an
- 1:31electronic time card he can see his
- 1:34schedule the store details the account
- 1:35profiles and so on plus everything he
- 1:38may need to know how to build a display
- 1:40a store may have had unforecasted demand
- 1:43they might have had a very busy weekend
- 1:45now with the iPhone our employees can
- 1:47instantaneously send us back a message
- 1:50they can write an order to meet retailer
- 1:52and consumer
- 1:54demand for managers we developed an app
- 1:56for the iPad called a manager's
- 1:59briefcase
- 2:00this pretty much replaces all the
- 2:02paperwork that they used to take with
- 2:03them it's pretty cool you know being
- 2:05able to see in real time where a driver
- 2:08is how many cases are on that delivery
- 2:11you can help be a team player and make
- 2:13sure everybody's getting the job done in
- 2:15a timely fashion and the customer
- 2:18satisfied we developed a third custom
- 2:21app to give managers access to their
- 2:24SharePoint content I can pull out a
- 2:26planogram I can pull up pricing I can
- 2:29pull up a customer development agreement
- 2:31a new contracts you name it it's all
- 2:33there deploying the iPhones and the
- 2:35iPads was very easy we use them built-in
- 2:38security capabilities of the iOS and
- 2:40mobile device management from AirWatch
- 2:43to securely deploy our applications and
- 2:45manage them the iPad has become such an
- 2:48integral part of my life that I can't
- 2:51imagine working without it these new
- 2:53applications and devices help our
- 2:55employees do a great job serving our
- 2:57customers we don't get a lot of game
- 2:59Chang in our industry iPhone and iPad
- 3:02technology allows for the integration of
- 3:04communication and productivity we can be
- 3:07more efficient and get after problems
- 3:09even before they happen the sky the
- 3:11limit we're very very excited about it
