4. 0:18with a brother who now qualifies for one
5. 0:20of my heroes uh Anthony Graves if you
6. 0:23are not familiar with this story we want
7. 0:25to make you familiar with this story

10. 0:3018 years 18 years for a crime he did not
11. 0:34commit and of course the vast majority
12. 0:36of that on death row this system failed
13. 0:41him in a terrible way 18 years just kind
14. 0:44of process that right quick okay 18
15. 0:46years 18 of the best years of your life
16. 0:49just process that I want to know man
17. 0:51with the rest of us what happened I mean
18. 0:54how did you get arrested why did you get
19. 0:56arrested describe the events that led up
20. 0:59to your arrest
21. 1:00well
22. 1:01uh that was a crime that happened in a
23. 1:04small town Sommerville Texas uh some of
24. 1:07you may know uh it was uh a whole family
25. 1:10had been murdered it was six people four
26. 1:14of them were children one was a teenage
27. 1:16daughter and one was a grandmother they
28. 1:18were shot stabbed blundon gasoline
29. 1:21poured over their bodies and the house
30. 1:23was burnt down right now this this crime
31. 1:26never happened in such a small town so
32. 1:28that was a lot of outrage P right they
33. 1:31wanted somebody to pay for this as a
34. 1:34matter of fact the mayor said that
35. 1:36whoever did it shouldn't even be given a
36. 1:38trial they should be just hang okay that
37. 1:42was the mindset they were so outraged so
38. 1:44that put pressure on the local
39. 1:45prosecutor to solve the case it was some
40. 1:48of the worst inhumanity uh any man can
41. 1:51witness you know I was uh we used to
42. 1:54talk about how livid America had became
43. 1:58about how we were treating terrorists
44. 2:01and guantan mo Bay and I'm saying we
45. 2:04were down there thinking but it's much
46. 2:07worse in our own backyard a nobody
47. 2:09saying nothing we're killing our own
48. 2:12people a't nobody saying nothing I
49. 2:15witnessed over 300 executions while I
50. 2:17was down there most of them my brothers
51. 2:21okay people that I come to know and love
52. 2:23as human beings I watched them 21 25 28
53. 2:29years old make one mistake in their life
54. 2:32and you said kill it and I keep saying
55. 2:35you because they're doing it in your
56. 2:38name enough is enough not in my name
57. 2:42anymore now that I know the truth not in
58. 2:45my name the system is
59. 2:48broke okay it is broke and it's set up
60. 2:51for wrongful convictions and guess who
61. 2:54they're
62. 2:57targeting not in my name no more
63. 3:00I have something to say about it now
64. 3:02what can we do to get this system right
65. 3:06first you have to get involved you have
66. 3:07to start writing to the legislature I
67. 3:09mean you have to let them know that you
68. 3:11do care you have to start showing up let
69. 3:14me tell you something when they
70. 3:16introduce bills on the floor of the
71. 3:18legislature you as a citizen has a right
72. 3:21to go up there and org that bill you can
73. 3:24go speak on that bill you can go right
74. 3:25up to that that microphone on the floor
75. 3:27and tell them that you oppose it or you
76. 3:29want it and you can tell them why that's
77. 3:31your right use it use it because the
78. 3:35bills they are passing trust me you're
79. 3:38coming up on the short end of them okay
80. 3:41so use what you got get involved learn
81. 3:44about this thing because this thing is a
82. 3:46threat to us all learn about this death
83. 3:48penalty because when you learn about the
84. 3:50death penalty you're going to know
85. 3:52exactly what to do I say contact your
86. 3:55legislator man uh you can keep up with

99. 4:33sin on death row we don't stop until the
100. 4:35casket drop okay and I don't stop until
101. 4:39the casket drop you know cuz you going
102. 4:42to live till you die I'm going to live
