  1. 0:00on the 2nd of August 2003 I was
  2. 0:02kidnapped by the state
  3. 0:06it has taken nearly 20 years to persuade
  4. 0:09my kidnappers to let me go
  5. 0:1217 years four months and 16 days of that
  6. 0:15time
  7. 0:16was spent in prison
  8. 0:20at every parole here and I sat before a
  9. 0:22panel who shook their heads at me
  10. 0:24considering me to be dangerous
  11. 0:27and all that time the real perpetrator
  12. 0:29the real dangerous person was free
  13. 0:36more recently I was allowed to leave
  14. 0:37prison but with my name on the sex
  15. 0:39offenders register
  16. 0:41and under tight supervision by police
  17. 0:43and probation I was not free
  18. 0:47but now I have finally been exonerated I
  19. 0:50am left outside this court without an
  20. 0:53apology
  21. 0:55without an explanation
  22. 0:58jobless
  23. 0:59homeless expected to Simply slip back
  24. 1:03into the world
  25. 1:04with no acknowledgment of the gaping
  26. 1:06black hole that they opened up in my
  27. 1:08life
  28. 1:10a black hole that loons so large behind
  29. 1:12me even here today that I fear it will
  30. 1:15swallow me up
