- 0:06next is the larynx the larynx is
- 0:09organized into three major regions
- 0:14vestibule which is between the entrance
- 0:16of the Lings and the vestibular folds
- 0:19considered to be false vocal cords and
- 0:23the vestibular folds contain the
- 0:25vestibular ligaments which are thicken
- 0:28inferior edges of the quadrangular
- 0:31membrane and next are the ventricles the
- 0:34portion between the false vocal cords
- 0:37superiorly and the true vocal cords
- 0:39inferiorly they form vocal
- 0:42folds the vocal folds contain the vocal
- 0:46ligaments which are thickenings of the
- 0:48superior edge of the conus
- 0:51elasticus vibrations of the adducted
- 0:53vocal ligaments with expiration produce
- 0:56a sound and the third one is
- 0:58infraglottic cavity so portion of the
- 1:02larynx inferior to the vocal folds is
- 1:04called as infraglottic cavity it
- 1:07communicates distally with the Lumen of
- 1:10the trachea so the larynx is composed of
- 1:13a cartilagenous skeleton that is the
- 1:15thyroid cartilage composed of two lamin
- 1:18and the two pairs of cornea and the next
- 1:21is
- 1:22lamin the plates which form the majority
- 1:25of the thyroid cartilage called lamini
- 1:28and the indentation in the midline is
- 1:30known as the superior thyroid Notch and
- 1:34the inferior Fingal constrictor
- 1:37sternothyroid and thyroid muzzles all
- 1:40attached to the lamin and the next is
- 1:44Cara finger like projections that extend
- 1:47superiorly and inferiorly from the Lavin
- 1:51thyrohyoid membrane is a connective
- 1:54tissue membrane which connects the
- 1:56thyroid cartilage to the hyid Bone and
- 1:59the next is cricoid
- 2:01cartilage it is composed of a narrow
- 2:03anterior Arch and a broad posterior
- 2:07lamina and what is the arch this Arch
- 2:11connects the thyroid cartilage
- 2:13superiorly via median CCO thyroid
- 2:16ligament and to the first tracheal ring
- 2:18inferiorly via Creo tracheal
- 2:22ligament and the next is
- 2:24lamina so it articulates superiorly with
- 2:27the aroid cartilages and in inferior
- 2:30Cara of the thyroid cartilage and what
- 2:33is the clinical
- 2:35correlate in the event of an emergency
- 2:38if an airway cannot be established by
- 2:41endot trial intubation then CCO
- 2:44thyroidotomy can be done where the creco
- 2:47thyroid membrane is
- 2:49incased and next is the aroid
- 2:52cartilages pyramidal cartilages that
- 2:55articulates at their base with the
- 2:57lamina of the creid cartilage
- 3:00and uh the muscular process that extends
- 3:03laterally and provides attachment points
- 3:05for the
- 3:06muscles and next the vocal process that
- 3:09extends anteriorly and it is the
- 3:12attachment point for the vocal ligaments
- 3:15and these are the following are the
- 3:17muzzles of the laryn CCO thyroid which
- 3:20tilts the thyroid cartilage forwards and
- 3:23the main action tenses and adducts the
- 3:26vocal ligaments and next is the
- 3:29posterior aroid which laterally rotates
- 3:32the aroid cartilage and the action is
- 3:36abducts the vocal ligaments so note an
- 3:39important point over here that these
- 3:42muzzles are the only abductors of the
- 3:45vocal ligaments and are that extremely
- 3:48important in maintaining an open Airway
- 3:51and the next one is the lateral C aroid
- 3:54which medially rotates the aroid
- 3:56cartilage and the main action it the
- 4:00vocal ligaments and
- 4:03aroids composed of transverse as well as
- 4:06oblique parts and action is adduct the
- 4:09vocal ligaments and thyro
- 4:12aroids from the thyroid laminate to the
- 4:15aroid cartilage and the action is adduct
- 4:18the vocal ligaments and the thyro epicus
- 4:22from the thyroid lamin to the lateral
- 4:25aspect of the epiglottis and the main
- 4:28action it holds epiglottis closed during
- 4:31swallowing to prevent the entrance of
- 4:34the food or liquid into the larynx
- 4:37during de glutation and what are the
- 4:39nerves of larynx one is a superior
- 4:42lingal nerve which divides into internal
- 4:46and external lingal nerves the internal
- 4:49lingal nerve enters the thyroid membrane
- 4:52with Superior lingal artery and provides
- 4:56sensory Innovation to the mucosa
- 4:58superior to the fcal folds and next is
- 5:01the external lingal nerve which Travels
- 5:04With The Superior thyroid artery and
- 5:06provides motor innervation to the Creo
- 5:10thyroid muscles and next are the
- 5:13recurrent lenal nerves so one is right
- 5:17another one is left the right one Loops
- 5:20under the subclavian artery and the left
- 5:22one Loops under the arch of Iota and
- 5:26both Ascend posterior to the esophagus
- 5:29and enter the larynx at the level of CCO
- 5:32thyroid articulation and motor ination
- 5:36of all musles of the larynx except the
- 5:39CCO thyroids
- 5:41are explained over here in the nerve
- 5:44section of the larynx and provide
- 5:46sensory inovation to the mucosa of the
- 5:49larynx inferior to the vocal folds and
- 5:52the next is arteries of the larynx one
- 5:55is the superior lingal artery which is
- 5:57the branch of superior thyroid AR Ary
- 6:00and travels with the internal lenal
- 6:03nerve and next one is the inferior lenal
- 6:06artery which is a branch of inferior
- 6:08thyroid artery and it travels along with
- 6:11the recurrent lingal nerve so this is
- 6:14what we discussed about the anatomy as
- 6:18well as the physiology of larynx
