  4. 0:08there I thought I'd talk to you a little
  5. 0:11bit this morning about uh oh by the way
  6. 0:13this is a new computer and it does all
  7. 0:16kinds of things so I have to be careful
  8. 0:19uh I'm not the sharpest tack in the box
  9. 0:21when it comes to this new equipment
  10. 0:24you're talking to a guy or a guy is
  11. 0:26speaking to you now that started driving
  12. 0:29a Model A car I remember the first jet
  13. 0:32airplane and many first things the
  14. 0:34Iceman delivering ice to an ice box
  15. 0:38taking it off of a mu drawn wagon so but
  16. 0:41I'd like to speak to you a little bit
  17. 0:43this morning about young people in
  18. 0:46particular about accomplishing
  19. 0:50things when I was young as you
  20. 0:55know I had a difficult childhood
  21. 0:58but there's no no excuse for people not
  22. 1:02being able to do what they want to do
  23. 1:04you can do
  24. 1:06anything that you want to do for
  25. 1:10example as I've told you before I lived
  26. 1:13in the back of an old car I taught
  27. 1:14myself to read and
  28. 1:17right so if you're young don't give up
  29. 1:22don't say the world is just against me
  30. 1:25that's not
  31. 1:28true I taught my myself to read and
  32. 1:30write I've had five books
  33. 1:33published I went to to college got a
  34. 1:36little bit of
  35. 1:39college I've studied scripture for many
  36. 1:41many
  37. 1:43years I've raised five
  38. 1:45children I've buried a mother father
  39. 1:48sister brother wife and
  40. 1:51daughter so a person can accomplish
  41. 1:55anything that they
  42. 1:57want one time to prove to myself that I
  43. 2:01was not an ignorant person I bought a
  44. 2:05Blackboard and I
  45. 2:08purchased a correspondence course for
  46. 2:11computer programming and I completed it
  47. 2:14with the
  48. 2:16Blackboard
  49. 2:19so Forge
  50. 2:23ahead don't stop never stop
  51. 2:27learning always reach out to better
  52. 2:32yourself because when you do
  53. 2:35that things
  54. 2:37expand you understand more you're
  55. 2:40happier you're
  56. 2:42healthier this old saying
  57. 2:45that if you don't use it you lose it is
  58. 2:50absolutely
  59. 2:51true if you don't use that brain that
  60. 2:54God put in your
  61. 2:57head one of these days you you'll be
  62. 3:01sitting on a front porch
  63. 3:04somewhere and you won't hardly know
  64. 3:07what's going
  65. 3:09on so don't don't give
  66. 3:14up if times are
  67. 3:16hard good things nor bad things last
  68. 3:21forever but most
  69. 3:24generally we are in control of our own
  70. 3:28destiny
  71. 3:30and when I say that I mean
  72. 3:36this if you're not getting
  73. 3:40ahead you need to do something to allow
  74. 3:43yourself to get ahead for an
  75. 3:47example excuse me for an example if if
  76. 3:51you want a good
  77. 3:53job if you want a secure future you have
  78. 3:56to have something to offer a perspective
  79. 4:00employer now I'm not saying you need a
  80. 4:03PhD or a master's degree but you do have
  81. 4:06to have something to offer there's going
  82. 4:09to be a time in this
  83. 4:13country that people that know how to
  84. 4:16work with their
  85. 4:18hands plumbers
  86. 4:21electricians Carpenters cement layers
  87. 4:25machine operators mechanics people that
  88. 4:28know how to work with their hands are
  89. 4:31going to be in great
  90. 4:35demand yes it's true you have to have
  91. 4:38Education and Training to be an engineer
  92. 4:41or a doctor or a
  93. 4:43lawyer but I'll tell you the truth I
  94. 4:47spent 60 years
  95. 4:49working I was successful I've started a
  96. 4:52couple of businesses I'm not a wealthy
  97. 4:54[Music]
  98. 4:55man but I'm a guy that came from living
  99. 4:58in the back of no
  100. 5:00car to having a nice retirement and to
  101. 5:04be able to talk to you on this
  102. 5:07thing so I'm going to close but I I just
  103. 5:10wanted to to share that with you this
  104. 5:12morning young people I love you I do I I
  105. 5:16love young people um my grandmother
  106. 5:19always said you know when a baby smiles
  107. 5:21the angel sing and that's true I believe
  108. 5:25but young people you're the backbone of
  109. 5:27this country you're the backbone of the
  110. 5:29world I don't care if you're in Asia
  111. 5:32Africa Korea Japan I don't care where
  112. 5:34you are the United States you are the
  113. 5:37leaders the Future Leaders of this world
  114. 5:41so Reach Out be
  115. 5:43yourselves don't be afraid to to go
  116. 5:47after what you need so I love you have a
  117. 5:50great day and I'll see you tomorrow
