- 0:00you know back seeda that last voice
- 0:02tutorial was wild we covered so much but
- 0:05I feel like we forgot something oh you
- 0:08forgot to save pitch we forgot to save
- 0:10pitch hey lovely audience are you tired
- 0:13of trans voice tutorials that require
- 0:15either a Linguistics degree or a sound
- 0:17engineering degree to even understand it
- 0:20have you ever wanted a trans voice
- 0:22tutorial that could be understood by
- 0:24literal 5-year-olds here it is change
- 0:27the voice from this to this out to
- 0:30transvoice part seven improve resonance
- 0:33with
- 0:35bubbles wait improve resonance with what
- 0:38back seat to pullover there's some stuff
- 0:40we need for this exercise all right so
- 0:42in order for us to save pitch from
- 0:44Shadow the Hedgehog as explained the
- 0:46other video we need strong residents
- 0:48luckily this shop should have everything
- 0:50we need to achieve stronger resonance so
- 0:54to get the fancy words out of the way
- 0:56today we're doing a thing called
- 0:58semi-occluded Vocal Track
- 1:00exercises this is just fancy music
- 1:03theory talk for exercises that are done
- 1:05with the mouth partially closed these
- 1:08exercises help better breath control
- 1:11voice strength and a bunch of other
- 1:13useful things today's exercise in
- 1:16particular is often called Bubble
- 1:18phonation which just means we are making
- 1:21sounds into bubbles once you have all
- 1:25our equipment I'll explain how you can
- 1:27do this little experiment at home so the
- 1:30first thing we need is a water
- 1:32bottle let's go look for one where even
- 1:35is the water bottles anyway that I don't
- 1:37are I swear there was like a stack of
- 1:39Stanley Cups like right here sorry ma'am
- 1:42those aren't trendy no more people found
- 1:45out there was lead in it wait when did
- 1:48this happen um months ago I don't know
- 1:51you got to move fast to the trends these
- 1:53days oh um I'm not really good at that I
- 1:57can tell with your overreliance of frug
- 2:00Aon nostalgia in your background music
- 2:03good day ma'am leave ponga out of this
- 2:06it was a revolutionary MMO and it was
- 2:08ahead of its day oh I found the water
- 2:10bottles so for today's exercise to
- 2:12strengthen our resonance we need a water
- 2:15bottle now we should always have a water
- 2:18bottle when we're doing voice training
- 2:19but today we need a water bottle that
- 2:21you can fit a straw into it can't be
- 2:24that hard to find a straw let's go find
- 2:26one 3 hours later you know I Feel Like
- 2:29Straw are a bit of a niche product I
- 2:31have an entire section dedicated to it
- 2:33but okay all right let's do a bubble
- 2:35phation exercise that's our goal today
- 2:38also known as like bubble sound the
- 2:39bubble technique a semi- included vocal
- 2:41tract exercise whatever why are we doing
- 2:44this exactly that's a good question see
- 2:47this technique allows us to practice
- 2:48resonance but the added pressure of
- 2:51water being able to create the desired
- 2:53sound in the water will help strengthen
- 2:55our ability and our vocal muscles in
- 2:58order to produce a really strong bright
- 3:00resonance sound all right so let's get
- 3:03started with the sound we want to make
- 3:05with this technique right so the sound
- 3:07we're going to be making is like
- 3:10a kind of sound like w o o o o o o and
- 3:15so forth right so try it with me
- 3:20[Music]
- 3:22okay cool now literally place your mouth
- 3:27into the straw okay you literally do
- 3:30that and you end up with
- 3:32[Music]
- 3:34a you
- 3:36[Music]
- 3:39try all right now make sure you have a
- 3:42water bottle filled with about this
- 3:45amount okay you want most of it filled
- 3:49but not too much otherwise you will
- 3:52Splash
- 3:54yourself all right so now we got a comfy
- 3:59amount of water
- 4:00in our water bottle so we're going to
- 4:03place the
- 4:04straw into the water bottle nice simply
- 4:07put right you want to leave a little bit
- 4:10of space right at the bottom of the
- 4:13bottle so there's actually a spot for
- 4:16air to come out of the straw otherwise
- 4:19we're not going to make any sound
- 4:21right the sound has to go somewhere now
- 4:24when you make
- 4:27a sound you'll notice bubbles will start
- 4:31appearing in our little water bottle
- 4:33here and it'll get a bubbly which is the
- 4:36goal right so you want to try to achieve
- 4:40that when doing it right you'll notice
- 4:42lots of Bubbles and you'll get that
- 4:45distinct sound you'll be able to hear
- 4:47the bubbles being all
- 4:51bubbly another quick thing is you want
- 4:54your cheeks to like bounce like this in
- 4:58the video provided you want the cheeks
- 5:01to kind of whoop whoop whooop whoop
- 5:03whoop whoop when you're making
- 5:06that sound that's key that's key to all
- 5:09of this you really want your cheeks to
- 5:12jump up and down cuz that's the
- 5:13resonance going to your mouth similar to
- 5:17the technique I explained in another
- 5:19video right so you want to make sure
- 5:24that there's lots of bubbles in the
- 5:25water bottle you want to make sure
- 5:27you're making that
- 5:29sound into the straw that's going into
- 5:31the water and you want your cheeks to
- 5:34kind of like a little jumpy Castle now
- 5:37let's try and hold this down for three
- 5:39seconds to get started all
- 5:42right three 2
- 5:50one
- 5:53nice cool cool so for your practice try
- 5:57to see if you can hold it for about 8
- 5:59Seconds this will give you good breath
- 6:01control while also helping your
- 6:03residents in case you're wondering my
- 6:06record is 15 seconds which for a voice
- 6:09courage is a bit embarrassing but I'm
- 6:11still
- 6:15practicing so I know what you're
- 6:17thinking random voice coach YouTuber
- 6:19with a cool patreon Linked In the
- 6:20description how do I turn this into a
- 6:22real person voice well I'm glad you
- 6:24asked because this is the part where we
- 6:26apply it and make it actually you know
- 6:29part of our actual voice instead of it
- 6:31being random sounds in a water bottle
- 6:35and um back Ceder is my um is my
- 6:39background meant to look like that yeah
- 6:41I changed it to a bookshelf yeah it's
- 6:42just
- 6:44um it's a little uninteresting you know
- 6:47like um it's just a bookshelf sound
- 6:50smarter I know it kind of makes me seem
- 6:52smarter it's just this is a bit bit
- 6:55performative don't you think um the
- 6:57video is too over a stimulating yeah
- 6:58this isn't this isn't me backseater I'm
- 7:00sorry can we um can we put some kind of
- 7:03Pop Culture reference behind me that's
- 7:04not really important to the overall
- 7:06video but is aesthetically
- 7:09nice yeah yeah I love that game so how
- 7:12do we apply this
- 7:14whole sound to anything even remotely
- 7:17practical to our own voice well I'm glad
- 7:19you ask lovely audience when we have
- 7:21this
- 7:23whole sound and technique with our water
- 7:27bottle we're actually going to try to
- 7:30say words and sentences into the water
- 7:32bottle it sounds
- 7:34crazy um I questioned it at first and I
- 7:37first L this but essentially you grab
- 7:40the water bottle grab the straw and you
- 7:43just kind of have like
- 7:45a and while you're making that sound
- 7:48you're going to try your best to say
- 7:51words into the
- 7:52straw the idea of this is just to get
- 7:55used to making that sound in the straw
- 7:57both more important is in a second we
- 7:59going to take a mouth out of the straw
- 8:01and make the sound in a more proper way
- 8:05of speaking so essentially it kind of be
- 8:07like
- 8:14going so as you can hear there I
- 8:16attempted to make some kind of sentence
- 8:19you probably don't understand what I'm
- 8:20saying that's fine um let's use a
- 8:23sentence cuz we're already making like a
- 8:24woo sound how about water is cool so
- 8:28let's make like a
- 8:30[Music]
- 8:34that kind of sound it sounds ridiculous
- 8:35I know I know
- 8:37but um what we do then is after we
- 8:44go water is cool so the idea is you do
- 8:48it into the straw and then you
- 8:50immediately take it out of the straw and
- 8:52you try to say it properly but try to
- 8:54maintain the power and the resonance
- 8:56that we achieved from getting the
- 8:58bubbles in the bottle in the first place
- 9:01so if we have nice bubbles in the water
- 9:03and we can hear it and our cheeks are
- 9:05going
- 9:07whooooop then your voice is probably
- 9:09fairly resonant on average so this is
- 9:13just a visual and audio audio indicator
- 9:15I guess of if we're doing the technique
- 9:18correctly now obviously this technique
- 9:20doesn't immediately solve all resonance
- 9:22issues but I have had students that um
- 9:24have found doing it this way easier than
- 9:27the other resonance techniques I've
- 9:29taught so hey we'll see what happens
- 9:31right let me know what you think but
- 9:33essentially we just going to have
- 9:38a water is
- 9:41cool um now unlike me don't drop your
- 9:43water bottle over and over that's not
- 9:45good um but essentially if you keep
- 9:48doing that you'll be able to apply
- 9:50bubble phonation to your voice now if
- 9:54you wanted to strengthen your voice
- 9:56there's some other exercises you can do
- 9:57too such as
- 9:59drills if we were to go up and down up
- 10:02and down up and down with our little
- 10:04bubble exercise we could end up with
- 10:06like
- 10:11a like that the idea of that one is just
- 10:14to get used to making the sound for long
- 10:17periods of time um but adding extra
- 10:20little obstacles you know how earlier I
- 10:22mentioned to um try to aim for 8 seconds
- 10:26well now try to do 8 Seconds of this
- 10:27wall going up and down up and down up
- 10:29and down and Pitch will this directly
- 10:32change your voice not really it's more
- 10:34something that strengthens your breath
- 10:35capacity and also makes you more
- 10:37comfortable in doing a resonance sound
- 10:39with less issues so now that's sorted
- 10:42you have lots of exercises to work on so
- 10:45try to work on those like couple of
- 10:47times each day don't do it for too long
- 10:49in one session just do a couple and just
- 10:50see how you go um and if it's
- 10:53strengthens your voice that let me know
- 10:55um if anything resonance related in this
- 10:58video didn't make too much sense I have
- 11:00two entire videos about resonance view
- 11:02bubble phonation more is it's kind of
- 11:04supplementary but for some people it
- 11:07works better than these ones it's just a
- 11:10personal preference I've had some
- 11:11students prefer this and some people
- 11:13prefer that if you do all free you'll
- 11:15become more well-rounded that's what I
- 11:16did um doing like all these techniques
- 11:19and I found that very
- 11:21helpful from all of us here at Fairy
- 11:23Princess Lucy Channel on YouTube
- 11:25youtube.com Fairy Princess Lucy Creator
