2. 0:07The Prophet (ﷺ) was once asked
3. 0:09by Said ibn Zayd (رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ).
4. 0:12Said ibn Zayd (رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ) is from عَشْرَةَ مُبَشِّرِيْنَ,
5. 0:14the ten promised paradise.
6. 0:16He said, "Ya Rasulullah,
7. 0:18you know my father, Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl,
8. 0:23you know him.
9. 0:25And he's dead.
10. 0:27Is he really going to be in the hellfire?
11. 0:29You know what happens to him?"
12. 0:31And who is Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl?
13. 0:34He is a man who the Prophet (ﷺ) knew
14. 0:37before the Prophet (ﷺ) received revelation.
15. 0:41And Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl
16. 0:43even whenever shirk was widespread,
17. 0:46before the Prophet (ﷺ) even made the call
18. 0:48to لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ
19. 0:50He was from the few individuals who said,
20. 0:53"There is no way that all of these idols are our Gods."
21. 0:57"It just doesn't make sense."
22. 0:59Not only that,
23. 1:01but he used to speak out against the idols.
24. 1:03And he was the nephew of Al-Khattab,
25. 1:06the father of Umar ibn Khattab (رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ)
26. 1:09He was his nephew,
27. 1:11and he knew that there's no way
28. 1:12that these idols were Gods.
29. 1:14Rasulullah (ﷺ) reflected, he said,
30. 1:16"You know what, I remember one time
31. 1:18I was sitting in gathering
32. 1:19with Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl
33. 1:21and they were serving meat -
34. 1:23and the Prophet (ﷺ) never ate meat
35. 1:25that was slaughtered in the name of the idols."
36. 1:27So the Prophet (ﷺ) passed.
37. 1:29And then it came to Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl
38. 1:32and it started to say to them
39. 1:34"Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) gives you these animals,
40. 1:37Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) provides for you from the skies.
41. 1:40Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
42. 1:41provides for you all of these meats.
43. 1:43And then you slaughtered
44. 1:44in the name of other than Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)?"
45. 1:48Speaking out against their practices.
46. 1:51He used to go to the Ka'ba.
47. 1:52Asma bin Abu Bakar (رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهَا) she says
48. 1:55that he used to put his bag to the Ka'ba.
49. 1:58And he used to say,
50. 1:59"No one of you
51. 2:00is upon the religion of Ibrahim (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامِ)
52. 2:02except for me."
53. 2:04"What you are doing
54. 2:05is not the religion of Ibrahim (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامِ)
55. 2:07I don't know what it is."
56. 2:09"But it's not this."
57. 2:12And he used to make a du'a.
58. 2:14Asma (رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا) heard his du'a,
59. 2:16and Abdullah ibn Umar (رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ),
60. 2:18he also narrates this from his father,
61. 2:19he used to make a du'a.
62. 2:21And he used to say,
63. 2:22اللَّهمّ لَوْ أَنِّي أَعْلَمُ أَيَّ الْوُجُوهِ أَحَبُّ إلَيْكَ
64. 2:26"O Allah, if only I knew
65. 2:27which path was most pleasing to You,
66. 2:30I would worship You according to that path."
67. 2:32وَلَكِنِّي لَا أَعْلَمُهُ
68. 2:33"But I don't know, Allah.
69. 2:34I don't know what it is."
70. 2:36And he made sujood.
71. 2:38And he cried.
72. 2:40And he said, اِهْدِنِيْ إِلَا مَا يُرْضِيْكَ
73. 2:43Look at that sincerity.
74. 2:45"O Allah, just guide me to that which is pleasing to You."
75. 2:49And eventually, he is oppressed
76. 2:50and beaten by his uncle so much.
77. 2:53That he leaves the Haram
78. 2:55and he goes looking for guidance around the world
79. 2:58like some of his companions did -
80. 2:59just a few people did.
81. 3:01Looking to Christianity,
82. 3:02looking to Judaism.
83. 3:04Trying to find guidance,
84. 3:05trying to find tauhid.
85. 3:06He's not finding it.
86. 3:08And you know what else he used to do?
87. 3:11When Allah (عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ) says,
88. 3:12وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
89. 3:14(QS. At-Takwir: 8-9) بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍۢ قُتِلَتْ
90. 3:16"And when the young girl that was buried alive..."
91. 3:19The disgusting practice of the Arabs,
92. 3:21when they used to bury their daughters alive.
93. 3:23And Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) said,
94. 3:25in the very early revelations,
95. 3:27"Whenever that young girl speaks and says,
96. 3:29for what reasons was I killed?"
97. 3:31"Why was I murdered?"
98. 3:33Before that ayah was even revealed,
99. 3:36Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl used to go to the places
100. 3:39where the ditches on the outskirts of Mecca,
101. 3:41where they would bury their daughters.
102. 3:44And say, "Don't do that."
103. 3:45"Give her to me,
104. 3:47I'll take her
105. 3:48and would raise these girls
106. 3:50until they would reach the age of marriage
107. 3:52and then marry them off."
108. 3:54Subhanallah.
109. 3:55No ayah,
110. 3:56no Qur'an,
111. 3:58no nothing.
112. 3:59No!
113. 3:59He didn't meet the Prophet (ﷺ) after he received wahy.
114. 4:02And as he's traveling the world,
115. 4:04and he finally hears that the Messenger (ﷺ)
116. 4:07has come out from the place that he left.
117. 4:09On his way back to Mecca, he dies.
118. 4:13So he never got to see the Prophet (ﷺ) and say,
119. 4:15لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ
120. 4:18Can you imagine that?
121. 4:20Subhanallah... this man's life long journey,
122. 4:22you might think to yourself,
123. 4:23wow that's a tragic ending, right?
124. 4:25Zayd never got to have that moment.
125. 4:28But his son, one of the first to become Muslim.
126. 4:31So the son is saying to the Prophet (ﷺ),
127. 4:33"Ya Rasulullah,
128. 4:35you know my dad,
129. 4:37what is his situation?"
130. 4:40And Rasulullah (ﷺ) said,
131. 4:43"I have seen on the day of judgment,
132. 4:46that the nations will stand behind their prophets,
133. 4:50each nation will stand behind the prophet
134. 4:52that was sent to them."
135. 4:53How many prophets were there?
136. 4:55Someone other than the mashaikh,
137. 4:57how many prophets were there sent to mankind?
138. 5:00Anyone know?
139. 5:03124,000 prophets anbiya,
140. 5:06amongst them 315 rasul,
141. 5:08messengers, in the authentic hadith
142. 5:10in Ahmad by Abu Darda (رَضِيَ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ).
143. 5:13Out of 124,000 prophets,
144. 5:16each of them will be standing on the day of judgment.
145. 5:19The Prophet (ﷺ) said
146. 5:20some of them will have large nations behind them,
147. 5:23and particularly Musa (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامِ).
148. 5:25Rasulullah (ﷺ)
149. 5:26when he sees the nation of Musa (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامِ),
150. 5:28he would think it's his nation,
151. 5:30then he would see his ummah come forward.
152. 5:32And we ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)
153. 5:33to make us amongst them, allahumma aamiin.
154. 5:36His ummah come forward
155. 5:37and they would dwarf the nation of Musa (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامِ).
156. 5:41And the Prophet (ﷺ) says,
157. 5:42"Some prophets there would stand
158. 5:44with very few followers,
159. 5:46some with seven, some with ten,
160. 5:48some with two, some with one."
161. 5:50Can you imagine a prophet
162. 5:51who spent his entire life in da'wa and has one person?
163. 5:55And Rasulullah (ﷺ) said,
164. 5:56"Some prophets will stand with no one behind them."
165. 6:00And you know what the Prophet (ﷺ) said?
166. 6:03"And I have seen your father,
167. 6:05Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl,
168. 6:07standing as a nation on his own."
169. 6:11Subhanallah.
170. 6:14He's gonna be all by himself on the day of judgment.
171. 6:17As a nation, as a ummah of his own.
172. 6:21You know why?
173. 6:22It was here. It was already here.
174. 6:25When Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) reveals to us
175. 6:26of the Qur'an and the Sunnah,
176. 6:28is that which agrees with our fitra already.
177. 6:30That which agrees
178. 6:31with our natural behavior already,
179. 6:34what is already inside of us.
180. 6:36The problem is
181. 6:37that sometimes we don't choose
182. 6:38to honor that fitrah.
