- 0:00Allah subhana wa ta'ala says,
- 0:02"You will need him Allah column in
- 0:04sa'atin. Allah will you will need Allah
- 0:07will enrich
- 0:09both of them from his vastness. Meaning
- 0:13if you have to do this, don't stop
- 0:15because of fear. I got you. I am Moghni.
- 0:18Your husband is not Moghni. Your wife is
- 0:21not Moghni. And the word says column.
- 0:23Allah will bless her. Allah will bless
- 0:25him. Allah will bless those kids. Allahu
- 0:28Akbar. Allah says, "I got everybody down
- 0:31because I'm Moghni." And how many people
- 0:34stay stuck because they think she's
- 0:36Moghni or
- 0:39vice versa. Where will I get love from?
- 0:42Where will I get money from? Where will
- 0:46Allah is Moghni.
- 0:50>> Bismillah Rahman Rahim alhamdulillah
- 0:52rabbil alameen wa salatu wa salaam ala
- 0:55sayyidina wa nabiyina wa mawlana
- 0:56Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi wa
- 0:59sallam.
- 1:00Allahumma inna nas'aluka hubbak
- 1:03wa hubba man yuhibbuk
- 1:05wa hubba amalin yuqarribuna ila hubbik
- 1:08ya arhamar rahimeen.
- 1:10>> Ya Allah, we ask you for your love.
- 1:12Ya Allah, we ask you for the love of the
- 1:14actions that will gain your love. And
- 1:16Allah, we ask you for the love of the
- 1:17people that you love ya arhamar
- 1:19rahimeen.
- 1:21>> Bismillah Rahman Rahim.
- 1:24Uh
- 1:24I read something today from Ibn
- 1:26Ata'illah al-Iskandari
- 1:28in which he said that
- 1:30if you think you will reach Allah
- 1:32subhana wa ta'ala by
- 1:34removing yourself from your faults
- 1:37and your ayb uyub
- 1:41uh like deficiencies
- 1:43he says you'll never reach Allah through
- 1:44that through that path.
- 1:47If you try to just remove everything,
- 1:49you'll never And he says one of the
- 1:50commentators says cuz they'll always be
- 1:52there.
- 1:53We're going to be old like OGs, you know
- 1:55what I mean? Like old heads. And we'll
- 1:57still have all of those deficiencies.
- 2:00But he says the way that you will reach
- 2:02Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is by adorning
- 2:04yourself,
- 2:05covering yourself with the qualities of
- 2:08God.
- 2:09With the qualities of Allah subhanahu wa
- 2:11ta'ala.
- 2:12Now, what does that mean?
- 2:14It means that these names of Allah
- 2:15subhanahu wa ta'ala that we are
- 2:16studying,
- 2:18that we have to like
- 2:19one is one one is like the relationship
- 2:21I have with Allah through this name.
- 2:23Number one.
- 2:25Like I know my creator.
- 2:27But then there's another impact of how
- 2:29does this change who I am with the
- 2:31creation?
- 2:32Like how do I now, when I walk around, I
- 2:35remind people of God?
- 2:38Like that's literally there's a
- 2:39narration that says like that to the to
- 2:43the meaning of
- 2:44who are the ones that you want to spend
- 2:46time around? It says either or whom that
- 2:48can Allah.
- 2:49They're the people that when you see
- 2:51them, you remember Allah subhanahu wa
- 2:53ta'ala.
- 2:55You see them. And so last week, I think
- 2:56it was last week, I mentioned like are
- 2:59you that person that if somebody's
- 3:01moving,
- 3:02they call you up?
- 3:04Like yo, we're moving, bro. Help me out.
- 3:08Or do they move and then later they tell
- 3:10you, "Yo, I moved." You're like, "Yo,
- 3:11what happened?" You're like, "Nah, I I
- 3:12took care of it."
- 3:14So my my question is when people see us,
- 3:18remember us, think of us,
- 3:21do we remind them of Allah subhanahu wa
- 3:22ta'ala?
- 3:25Now, how do I do that? I want to become
- 3:27that person.
- 3:28Well, by knowing these names of Allah
- 3:30subhanahu wa ta'ala,
- 3:32the goal is to become some of the names.
- 3:34You can't become all the names. And even
- 3:36if we try, like that there's a level of
- 3:38the name that is reserved only for
- 3:39Allah, of course.
- 3:41Even the best of creation has there's a
- 3:43limit cuz we're created. Allah is the
- 3:44creator.
- 3:46But nonetheless, we can strive and
- 3:47strive and strive. Like last week, we
- 3:49learned ar-rahman.
- 3:52Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says the rasul
- 3:54said said Ar-Rahimuna
- 3:56Yarhamhum Ar-Rahman.
- 3:58That the people who are people of mercy,
- 4:01Ar-Rahman loves them.
- 4:03Ar-Rahman loves them. So, what do we do?
- 4:05Irhamu man fil
- 4:07have mercy upon people. So, that's the
- 4:09idea. Ibn Ata' is telling us stop
- 4:11focusing so much on just cleaning your
- 4:13faults, cleaning, cleaning. No, just
- 4:15adorn yourself with these beautiful
- 4:17qualities of who God is.
- 4:20Now, tonight inshallah Ta'ala we'll
- 4:21cover a name of Allah.
- 4:24That like
- 4:2530 weeks ago we did a name of Allah that
- 4:27was similar to this name, but we never
- 4:30went in depth into this particular name.
- 4:34And this name of Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala
- 4:36is Al-Mughni.
- 4:38Al-Mughni.
- 4:40Which which easily translates into
- 4:44the one who enriches us.
- 4:46Like the light translation is the one
- 4:49who makes us ghani. In Arabic the word
- 4:51ghani
- 4:52like Uthman bin Affan Al-Ghani they call
- 4:55him, it means to be rich.
- 4:57It means to be rich.
- 4:59And one of the names of Allah is Al-
- 5:02Ghani. That's the name we did back in
- 5:03the day.
- 5:05But tonight we study a different name.
- 5:08See Al-Ghani, why do I need to know
- 5:10Allah is ghani?
- 5:11Because if I recognize he is ghani
- 5:14then it tells me something about my
- 5:16reality.
- 5:17And my reality
- 5:19is that despite no matter how much money
- 5:21I make
- 5:23no matter how much money I make
- 5:25and it's crazy cuz right now the whole
- 5:27Muslim scene, we got the startup, the
- 5:29founders
- 5:31we got like, yo, yo, you know what I
- 5:33mean?
- 5:34Man, never mind, whatever.
- 5:37Like we got the San Fran Muslims got
- 5:39their startups going.
- 5:41We got the, you know, DMV Muslims got
- 5:43their joint going, Seattle like
- 5:45mashallah.
- 5:47Like the ummah has never been into money
- 5:50more, yo. Like, mashallah.
- 5:53And if your feet Maybe it's my feet. I
- 5:55was preparing for this. I'm like, maybe
- 5:56my feet is cooked, yo. Like
- 5:59I was like, maybe my feet is cooked.
- 6:01I'mma say so. Like, yo, bro, I don't
- 6:02know what you're talking about.
- 6:04But anyways.
- 6:05So, the the point here is Al-Ghani is
- 6:09Allah. And what does that name teach us?
- 6:11We're not going to focus on Ghani. We're
- 6:12going to talk about Mughni tonight. But
- 6:14Al-Ghani
- 6:15is the one who is is is Now, we won't
- 6:17say God is rich, cuz that doesn't even
- 6:19make sense. If you like, God is rich,
- 6:20you're like, bro, I don't even know what
- 6:21that means.
- 6:23So, what does it mean that Allah is
- 6:24Ghani?
- 6:25Because Ghani, at the end of the day,
- 6:27what it actually means is to be free of
- 6:29need.
- 6:30To be independent and free of any need.
- 6:34That is why a lot of the rich people
- 6:36nowadays ain't rich, yo.
- 6:39A lot of the wealthy people, put it that
- 6:41way.
- 6:42A lot of wealthy people aren't rich.
- 6:45Aren't rich at all.
- 6:47Because they need that check, yo.
- 6:50They need that, yo. They need that
- 6:52square footage of that house, yo.
- 6:55They need that BMW. Benz, my bad. Benz,
- 6:58my bad.
- 7:00They need it, bro.
- 7:02And and as I was starting the halaqah,
- 7:04yo, like
- 7:07I thought to myself
- 7:09like
- 7:10wallahi, this is not a flex, but I just
- 7:12want to share. I grew up poor.
- 7:15But I didn't realize I was poor till I
- 7:16saw rich people.
- 7:19Cuz when I was poor, we were good.
- 7:23We were good like low-key If I tell
- 7:25y'all now, you're going to be like, oh
- 7:26my god.
- 7:30Wallahi.
- 7:31Wallahi.
- 7:32Like
- 7:34I grew up in Buffalo, New York, okay?
- 7:36Which is a small little city. It ain't
- 7:38even all that.
- 7:40But the it's cold, yo.
- 7:42It's cold.
- 7:43I remember
- 7:45winters when our heat would get turned
- 7:47off, yo.
- 7:49Like like like cut off.
- 7:52Cut off. Well, I I kid you not. We used
- 7:55to have sleepovers. Cuz back then there
- 7:56was no parents sleepover. Yeah, go
- 7:58ahead. Nowadays, who sleeps over
- 7:59anyone's house, right? We used to have
- 8:01sleepovers.
- 8:02I kid you not. The heat would be cut
- 8:05off. Some of y'all is like, "What does
- 8:06it mean to be cut off?" But
- 8:08go online, check it out. You You see
- 8:10what I mean.
- 8:11Heat would be cut off.
- 8:13I would call my friends on the landline.
- 8:17I'd be like, "Yo, I know we was going to
- 8:19be at my house today." It's funny. We
- 8:20would have electricity, but no heat.
- 8:23>> [laughter]
- 8:24>> Crazy.
- 8:25Crazy. I'd be like, "Yo, the heat's cut
- 8:27off. So, we should go to one of y'all
- 8:29house today."
- 8:31They'd be like, "Nah, Mike, we coming to
- 8:32your house anyway. We'd be cold
- 8:33together." I kid you not.
- 8:36It was so cold. We used to be in the
- 8:37cover
- 8:38singing our in the house.
- 8:41In the house.
- 8:44But I kid you not.
- 8:46Like you We I'm not saying like feel bad
- 8:49for me. I didn't feel bad.
- 8:51But you know what I realized?
- 8:53What's sadder than that is to see
- 8:56someone with extreme amount of means,
- 8:58but they're poor at heart.
- 9:01I'm going to say that again.
- 9:04Poverty is not a problem
- 9:07in the sense of material poverty.
- 9:11True poverty as the prophet Muhammad
- 9:14defined poverty, that's what breaks your
- 9:16heart. And what is that? That is a
- 9:18person that has the car, has the square
- 9:20footage, has the house, has the pool.
- 9:26In Dallas, a pool you next level, bro.
- 9:29But like they're miserable.
- 9:32They're miserable.
- 9:35And it's like subhanallah, that's sad.
- 9:39And that is why tonight
- 9:42we look at this name Al-Mughni.
- 9:45Because Al-Mughni
- 9:47is the one who enriches. But when you
- 9:49realize
- 9:51what enrichment means when God gives it,
- 9:55oh my it shifts your perspective on am I
- 9:58poor or am I rich?
- 10:01Am I poor
- 10:02or am I rich?
- 10:04So I'm going to start off with with a
- 10:06verse of Quran.
- 10:08Where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
- 10:12Ash-Shaytanu
- 10:13ya'idukumul faqra.
- 10:16Shaytan warns you, scares you.
- 10:20Yo, you're going to be poor, bro.
- 10:22Ya'idukumul faqra.
- 10:24Wa ya'murukum bil fahsha'.
- 10:26And because he warns you, oh you're
- 10:27going to be broke, you're going to be
- 10:28poor,
- 10:30he uses that as a gateway to force you
- 10:33to haram.
- 10:34Like I I got to do this haram thing or
- 10:36else I'm a I'm going to be broke.
- 10:39My family won't respect me.
- 10:41Ash-Shaytan, what does Shaytan do? Tells
- 10:43you you're going to be poor.
- 10:45That's interesting, okay.
- 10:47There's another verse where Allah says,
- 10:50Ya ayyuhan nasu antumul fuqara'u
- 10:53ilallah.
- 10:54Oh mankind,
- 10:56know that every one of you
- 10:59fuqara'u ilallah. What does faqir mean?
- 11:02You're poor.
- 11:03But here's the beautiful part. So
- 11:05Shaytan scares me I'm going to be poor,
- 11:07but then Allah tells me I am poor. I
- 11:09don't get it. I Should I be scared of
- 11:12poverty?
- 11:13The big difference is here.
- 11:16What we realize tonight by this name
- 11:19is what true poverty actually is.
- 11:22Because Allah says in that verse,
- 11:25Ya ayyuhan nasu antumul fuqara'u
- 11:29ilallah.
- 11:30That oh humanity,
- 11:32every one of you
- 11:34wealthiest person
- 11:37least wealthiest person
- 11:39All
- 11:42of you are poor, but here's the key. You
- 11:45are to God.
- 11:47You are equally in need of Allah.
- 11:51And here's where it truly hit me.
- 11:55Allah does use people to give us things.
- 11:58He does give us things through things.
- 12:01But what I realized is
- 12:05the thing that I was searching for in my
- 12:07marriage
- 12:09that deep deep feeling of appreciation
- 12:11and love
- 12:15I can only get that deep deep deep deep
- 12:17deep feeling from Allah.
- 12:22That feeling I want from being wealthy.
- 12:25You don't want wealth. What do you want?
- 12:28What do you want? What do you want the
- 12:29wealth for?
- 12:31Ask yourself truly, why do you want the
- 12:33wealth?
- 12:35Some of you if you're real with
- 12:36yourself, I want to flex. Okay, cool.
- 12:38You want to flex. Be real with me for a
- 12:39second.
- 12:41I want to flex. Okay, tell me why you
- 12:43need to flex so much though.
- 12:45I need people to see me, man.
- 12:47I need to be seen.
- 12:49Ah.
- 12:51You know what Allah's name is?
- 12:53Al Basir, bro.
- 12:54He's watching you. He's never took his
- 12:56eyes off you.
- 12:59Some of you know, I don't want to be
- 13:00seen. I could be rich and don't nobody
- 13:02know.
- 13:05You want security maybe.
- 13:06I just want to be secure.
- 13:08Sister, that money ain't going to secure
- 13:10nothing.
- 13:14Mhm.
- 13:16You know who's going to secure you?
- 13:19Al Mu'min
- 13:21Al Mu'min, that's the name of Allah. Al
- 13:23Mu'min, the one who gives you security.
- 13:26So what I'm what I'm what I'm realizing
- 13:29is that
- 13:30the fakir I'm the fakir, you're the
- 13:33fakir.
- 13:35But what I realized is where other
- 13:36people think that they can enrich
- 13:39themselves and remove the the poverty
- 13:41nature of themselves,
- 13:43what we realized tonight is if you try
- 13:46to fill it with anything but God, you'll
- 13:48always be poor.
- 13:50Always be poor. And what does that mean?
- 13:52Needing more. How can you reach millions
- 13:55and be like, I need to be a billionaire?
- 13:58I kid you not. That person who's a
- 14:00billionaire, I guarantee when he was
- 14:03getting his first 100,000, he was like,
- 14:04if I just get 200, I'll be good.
- 14:08You think he was thinking about trillion
- 14:09and billion when he was like getting his
- 14:11first 100?
- 14:13No.
- 14:15But because and this I was talking to a
- 14:17friend,
- 14:18you know,
- 14:21you know the analogy of a rainbow?
- 14:22What's at the end of the rainbow?
- 14:24What's at the end of the rainbow, yo?
- 14:26Pot of gold.
- 14:28That's the nature of this dunya.
- 14:31The nature of the dunya is that they
- 14:33tell you if you get it, you'll be good.
- 14:35If you get it, you'll be good. If you
- 14:37get it, you'll be good. And we keep
- 14:39chasing and chasing and you get to the
- 14:40rainbow, you get to the end,
- 14:43and the Wizard of Oz ain't who he was.
- 14:47The Wizard of Oz is fake.
- 14:49He ain't even real.
- 14:52And so so tonight what I want us to do
- 14:55is I'm going to go deeper into this name
- 14:56Al-Ghani, Al-Mughni.
- 14:59But I want us to see how
- 15:01we understand two types of poverty.
- 15:05Poverty of material means.
- 15:07And I hope my mother isn't watching cuz
- 15:09she did her best, yo.
- 15:11She did her best.
- 15:12I don't I'm not even salty. Wallahi, I'm
- 15:14not salty. Those those those cold nights
- 15:17made me, bro.
- 15:19Alhamdulillah.
- 15:21And I'm not it's no flex. Wallahi, no
- 15:23flex.
- 15:24So, there's material poverty
- 15:26that we see around the world.
- 15:28But, if you go to those refugee camps in
- 15:31Jordan, if you go to those places around
- 15:33the world, you will realize something,
- 15:36you're poorer than they are.
- 15:39Can I repeat that? You are poorer than
- 15:41they are.
- 15:43Because
- 15:45you have and don't have.
- 15:47They don't have and have.
- 15:51Does that I don't know if this is making
- 15:52sense, bro.
- 15:54I don't even know if I'm making sense
- 15:55over here, bro.
- 15:57You have and don't have.
- 16:00And that to me, I've realized is sadder.
- 16:04So, let's look at a few Hadith.
- 16:07The first Hadith I want us to understand
- 16:10is the Hadith where the Prophet
- 16:11Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
- 16:13he said, "Laysal ghina
- 16:15an kathratil a'rad."
- 16:18The Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he
- 16:19said,
- 16:20"Richness is not having abundance of
- 16:22means."
- 16:24Ris- richness has nothing to do with
- 16:26abundance of means.
- 16:28"Walakinnal ghina
- 16:30ghinan nafs."
- 16:32Walakin, but the true richness,
- 16:35the true richness is a self that doesn't
- 16:38need any more.
- 16:40A self that doesn't have this desire to
- 16:42have more, that's when you know you're
- 16:44rich.
- 16:45And that's why the scholars, they used
- 16:46to say, "At-tama' faqr." Arabic.
- 16:50"At-tama' faqr."
- 16:52Wanting more is poverty.
- 16:54You're poor. The moment you want more,
- 16:56you're poor, bro.
- 16:58But, the moment you're like, "I'm good."
- 17:00"I'm good."
- 17:02I got to pause, cuz sometimes I think
- 17:04what happens is, especially in this
- 17:05time, I'm telling you we're in the
- 17:06Muslim founder time, startup tech, all
- 17:08of you guys are like, "I got to do
- 17:09stuff."
- 17:09No one told you to not build it build
- 17:11things that will benefit people and
- 17:13humanity.
- 17:15But, the idea that that thing will
- 17:17satiate the need inside of you
- 17:21to be seen,
- 17:23to be secure,
- 17:25to be understood,
- 17:28that need will never be filled by that
- 17:30thing.
- 17:31And that's what we're learning tonight.
- 17:32Al-Mughni is the one who enriches.
- 17:35But what does that mean when he
- 17:37enriches? I'm going to take you straight
- 17:39to a verse of Quran. There are two
- 17:40verses in the Quran that speak directly
- 17:42about Allah will yughnika, enrich you.
- 17:45You know what they are? One is marriage,
- 17:47one is divorce.
- 17:49One is marriage
- 17:51and one is divorce.
- 17:53So, y'all want the good or the bad?
- 17:54Which one we go first? Which one?
- 17:57>> Divorce.
- 17:58>> Divorce. Well, it's all good, brother.
- 18:00>> [laughter]
- 18:01>> Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala, he says
- 18:04regarding divorce,
- 18:06the reality is the reality is that
- 18:09divorce is a part of our religion for a
- 18:10reason.
- 18:12It's there It's not We're not Catholics.
- 18:13You know what I mean? I was talking to a
- 18:14Catholic priest the other day. I was
- 18:16like she was the person was like, "I do
- 18:17like marriage counseling in
- 18:19Catholicism." I was like, "But y'all
- 18:20ain't got divorce."
- 18:21She's like, "Yeah, we got annulment." I
- 18:23was like, "Huh? What you mean?" She's
- 18:24like, "We just go back in history and
- 18:25like it didn't count from the
- 18:26beginning." I was like, "Oh, y'all
- 18:27shady, bro."
- 18:30Oh, y'all be just playing with the
- 18:31sharia, bro.
- 18:34You're playing I didn't count from the
- 18:35beginning. Oh, okay.
- 18:37No, our religion has divorce for a
- 18:39reason.
- 18:41Has divorce for a reason. It's because
- 18:44there Allah can give you something
- 18:46through a person for a time being
- 18:49and bless you immensely
- 18:51and give you something amazing through
- 18:53that time.
- 18:55And that's okay.
- 18:57There are amazing Sahaba.
- 19:00I'll tell you a story. Al-Mughith and
- 19:02Barirah.
- 19:04It's a complicated fiqh issue, but
- 19:06basically Barirah
- 19:09So, she was a slave cuz that was allowed
- 19:11back then all right, back then, right?
- 19:13And she got freed.
- 19:15But when she got freed, this ruling
- 19:17kicked in where the the guy she was
- 19:19married to,
- 19:20and Mugheeth,
- 19:21she actually didn't have to stay
- 19:23married. She could have stayed married
- 19:24or left him.
- 19:25It's an issue. It's a nuanced issue.
- 19:28So, what happened?
- 19:29The moment she got freed,
- 19:31she told Mugheeth,
- 19:38"I'm out."
- 19:39Now, in Medina, this was a big deal.
- 19:42You know why?
- 19:44Because
- 19:45Mugheeth
- 19:46loved her so much.
- 19:49You This is in Bukhari. You can look
- 19:50anywhere for this. Mugheeth
- 19:52Bareerah.
- 19:53Mugheeth was walking around Medina
- 19:56following her.
- 19:57Following her.
- 19:59And he's like, "Please, please." And
- 20:01she's like, "I'm good. I'm good. I'm
- 20:03good.
- 20:04No."
- 20:05The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
- 20:07one day,
- 20:08while this whole drama is playing out in
- 20:10Medina,
- 20:11y'all drinking the tea now. Y'all like,
- 20:12"What happened next?"
- 20:14Whole drama playing out in Medina.
- 20:16Mugheeth is just trying. He's doing
- 20:18everything he can. Like, "Please, please
- 20:20stay with me."
- 20:22She's like, "No, I'm good. No, no, no."
- 20:25The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
- 20:26steps in.
- 20:28And he's like, "Oh, Bareerah,
- 20:30why don't you just, you know, keep the
- 20:31guy?"
- 20:32She says,
- 20:34"Is this a order, or is this just a
- 20:36recommendation?"
- 20:38She He says, "It's just a
- 20:39recommendation." She says, "No, I'm
- 20:41good."
- 20:43Ya Rabb.
- 20:44She is an amazing woman. Mugheeth is an
- 20:46amazing man.
- 20:49It's okay.
- 20:50It was a funny moment where where
- 20:53literally the Sahaba are chilling,
- 20:54Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is
- 20:55chilling, and they walk past. Bareerah
- 20:58with Mugheeth behind her. "Please,
- 20:59please." And the Prophet Sallallahu
- 21:01Alaihi Wasallam he says, "Man, look.
- 21:02Whoa."
- 21:03He goes, "Look how much he loves her,
- 21:05and how much she hates him."
- 21:07He literally said, you could look this
- 21:08Hadith up.
- 21:11I say this because there is nothing
- 21:12wrong with divorce. Yes,
- 21:15if there if it's if there's a good
- 21:17marriage, why would you do that
- 21:18unnecessarily? Why would you break up
- 21:20something beautiful?
- 21:22But it's a part of our religion for a
- 21:23reason. Does that make sense?
- 21:25Now, with that said, let's look at this
- 21:27verse.
- 21:31Now, sometimes,
- 21:33let's take the case that we objectively
- 21:35all agree this marriage is not a good
- 21:37marriage. Let's say we all agree, like
- 21:3899 out of 100 people going to be like,
- 21:40yeah, y'all should split is yeah.
- 21:42You know what I mean?
- 21:45But sometimes we stay in. Why?
- 21:48Fear.
- 21:49Fear.
- 21:51Where will my security come from?
- 21:54Where will my wealth come from?
- 21:56Where will my love come from?
- 21:59Where will I get that from?
- 22:02Do you feel me?
- 22:04This room too young, man.
- 22:06This room [snorts] too young, man. It's
- 22:08all good. Somebody online like preach.
- 22:10Go ahead. Go ahead.
- 22:12>> [laughter]
- 22:13>> So, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
- 22:15Allah says in this verse, "Wa in
- 22:17yatafarraqa,
- 22:18and if they happen to split, wa in
- 22:21yatafarraqa, if they happen to split,
- 22:25yughni yugh yughnihima Allahu min kullin
- 22:28min sa'atihi."
- 22:29Allahu subhanahu wa ta'ala says, "Wa in
- 22:31yatafarraqa,
- 22:32yughnihima Allahu kullin min sa'atihi."
- 22:36Allah will yughni. Allah will enrich
- 22:39both of them
- 22:41from his vastness.
- 22:44Meaning, if you have to do this,
- 22:47don't stop because of fear. I got you. I
- 22:50am mughni.
- 22:51Your husband is not mughni.
- 22:53Your wife is not mughni.
- 22:56And the word says, "Kullin."
- 22:59Kullin. Allah will bless her. Allah will
- 23:01bless him. Allah will bless those kids.
- 23:03Allahu Akbar.
- 23:06Allah says, "I got everybody down."
- 23:09Because I'm Mughni.
- 23:11And how many people stay stuck because
- 23:14they think she's Mughni?
- 23:16Or
- 23:18vice versa.
- 23:20Where will I get love from? Where will I
- 23:22get money from? Where will
- 23:25Allah is Mughni.
- 23:27And And Allah does give us people. I
- 23:29want to say this. Allah does give us
- 23:32through people.
- 23:33There is a beautiful verse most of us
- 23:35know. Wa wajadaka 'ailan
- 23:38fa'aghna. You know what that verse says?
- 23:40Oh Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
- 23:43Wa wajadaka
- 23:45and we found you
- 23:48Wa wajadaka and God found you poor.
- 23:51Fa'aghnak
- 23:53and he enriched you. Do you know what
- 23:55the tafsir of that typically is?
- 23:58We married you to Khadijah.
- 24:01We married you to the Khadijah. Allah
- 24:03says Allah says, "I I enriched you
- 24:07through her."
- 24:08Allahu [laughter] Akbar.
- 24:10Allahu Akbar. And my man is afraid to
- 24:12marry an accomplished woman.
- 24:17Bro, you tripping.
- 24:18>> [laughter]
- 24:20>> You tripping.
- 24:23The prophet alayhi wasallam in a verse
- 24:25Allah says, "I found you in need and I
- 24:27enriched you." All the mufassirin say,
- 24:29"Enriched you by marrying you to
- 24:32Khadijah radiyallahu anha."
- 24:35So, Allah does enrich us through people.
- 24:39Do you get the balance of what I'm
- 24:40saying?
- 24:42But sometimes those people leave you,
- 24:44leave the world, something you leave
- 24:45something Like it happens. That's life.
- 24:50And it broke his heart when Allah took
- 24:51Khadijah away.
- 24:54It broke his heart
- 24:56when he lost Khadijah.
- 24:59And he never forgot her.
- 25:01He never forgot her sal Allah alayhi
- 25:03wasallam.
- 25:04He used to always remember her.
- 25:07Until Aisha used to say,
- 25:09"Why do you remember this old lady?
- 25:11Allah has replaced you with better."
- 25:18Do you know what he said?
- 25:20Because you always got to defend people.
- 25:22He said, "Allah has not replaced her
- 25:24with better."
- 25:26Yeah, some of y'all are like, "I don't
- 25:27even know how to take that." I'll tell
- 25:28you how to take it. People can't be
- 25:30replaced.
- 25:32People can't be replaced. If May Allah
- 25:33protect us. If you lose a child, you can
- 25:36have 10 more childs. That doesn't You
- 25:37know what I'm trying to say? You can't
- 25:39replace people.
- 25:40Yes, Allah will give you someone else
- 25:42maybe, but that person is never
- 25:43replaceable.
- 25:45Ever in life.
- 25:46They are a unique creation of God.
- 25:50Their genetic sequence is unique. It
- 25:52never came before, never come again.
- 25:54They are special.
- 25:56So, they can never be replaced.
- 25:58Yes, Allah gave me you, yes Aisha, and I
- 26:01love you. And he would say that openly.
- 26:04But, no one replaced anybody here.
- 26:06That's not how this world works.
- 26:09But, my point is that yes, God gives us
- 26:12people through which he enriches us.
- 26:15But, what do you do when
- 26:17that person leaves you or passes away or
- 26:22what do you do?
- 26:23You have to remember that what I truly
- 26:26needed was given through God, not them.
- 26:31Exactly, Moz. Subhan Allah.
- 26:34What I truly needed was given to me
- 26:36through Allah
- 26:39and not through the person.
- 26:42Not through the person.
- 26:46Wa in yatafarraqa
- 26:48yughni humu Allahu kullun min sa'atihi.
- 26:50And if they split, Allah subhana wa
- 26:52ta'ala will enrich both of them from his
- 26:55vastness.
- 26:56From his vastness.
- 26:58It's beautiful verse.
- 27:00And it reminds us to shift our focus
- 27:02back to Al-Mughni.
- 27:05Now let's move to the second verse.
- 27:07The second verse.
- 27:12The second verse is about marriage.
- 27:16It's mainly addressing men, but it could
- 27:18address women, too.
- 27:20Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he says, "Wal
- 27:22yasta'fif alladheena la yajidoona
- 27:24nikahan
- 27:25hatta yughniyahum Allahu min fadlih."
- 27:29Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he says,
- 27:31"Let those who don't find the means to
- 27:34get married."
- 27:37And that's why I said typically it's
- 27:38considered for men.
- 27:40Because you could be young, handsome,
- 27:43emotionally intelligent,
- 27:46broke.
- 27:50Ain't no uncle in the back going to give
- 27:51you her hand. Sorry, I can't. What you
- 27:52want me to do?
- 27:54You want PB&J Crustables?
- 27:57I just I would, you're a great guy.
- 28:01You are objectively a great guy. You're
- 28:03just
- 28:04You got to get a job, man.
- 28:07Right? So this verse is typically
- 28:09regarding men because it says la
- 28:11yajidoona nikahan, yani they don't have
- 28:14the material means. And this is why when
- 28:16we talk about ghina, the Quran does
- 28:19refer to ghina as actual money, too.
- 28:23It says, "Let those who do not find the
- 28:26means to marry,
- 28:28let them remain chaste. Hold it down,
- 28:30man.
- 28:32Hold it down.
- 28:33Patient. Don't go to haram.
- 28:35Don't go to haram while you wait for
- 28:37halal.
- 28:38Because what you're seeking in the halal
- 28:40cannot be found in the haram.
- 28:43I'mma repeat that.
- 28:45Don't go to haram while you're for
- 28:47halal.
- 28:49Because what you're seeking in the halal
- 28:52you can't get it in the haram.
- 28:55You won't get it.
- 28:56I just trust me if you if try you can't.
- 29:00What you truly desire
- 29:03can only be get be be received through
- 29:04the halal.
- 29:06And that is a hadith, not my words.
- 29:08The hadith of the prophet Sallallahu
- 29:09alaihi wasallam he says
- 29:10do not let the delay
- 29:13of risk sustenance
- 29:15force you to seek it
- 29:17in the disobedience of God.
- 29:20Because you can never get what God wants
- 29:22for you from haram.
- 29:24You might get a dumbed-down quick
- 29:26dopamine version of it.
- 29:28Does that make sense? You get the
- 29:30dopamine quick ver- you ain't getting
- 29:31serotonin. You know what I mean?
- 29:34Y'all don't even Man, they don't even
- 29:35feel me with the Y'all don't
- 29:36I'm on another level with y'all now, you
- 29:38know what I mean?
- 29:39You're not getting that true good
- 29:40feeling.
- 29:42You're getting that quick dopamine hit.
- 29:45After which you feel horrible.
- 29:47But you know that serotonin is that real
- 29:49goodness, you know what I mean? They
- 29:51can't bottle that stuff up.
- 29:53Every addictive drug works off that
- 29:55dopamine receptor.
- 29:57Dopamine receptor, dopamine receptor.
- 29:59I'm in my bag right now, psychology, yo.
- 30:03Every one of those addictions is based
- 30:05on that dopamine receptor right there.
- 30:08So Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala he says in
- 30:10this we're looking at that that's that
- 30:13that hadith
- 30:15that don't seek out
- 30:17the halal don't seek out through the
- 30:18haram
- 30:20that can only be received through the
- 30:22thing through the halal.
- 30:24So what does this verse say? Stay
- 30:25chaste, man.
- 30:27Hold it down. Get a job.
- 30:29Work hard.
- 30:32Do what you got to do
- 30:33to prove to Allah you're ready.
- 30:36So what does the verse say?
- 30:38You got to be Allah. And you You what
- 30:40the verse says? It doesn't say wait
- 30:42until
- 30:43you blow up, until you get it. It says
- 30:46wait till God enriches you, man.
- 30:48Just do the work, Allah will enrich you.
- 30:51Do the work, Allah will enrich you. Do
- 30:53the work, Allah will enrich you.
- 30:55And that's all we're
- 30:56So, what is this verse like the reason I
- 30:58wanted us to understand this verse
- 31:01is because
- 31:03what we truly desire out of marriage
- 31:07what we truly want out of it
- 31:10is that bond, that love, that emotional
- 31:12connection. That's what we truly want.
- 31:15Even those that are very physical and
- 31:17like what they truly desire more than is
- 31:19that emotional bond.
- 31:21That's what they're truly seeking after.
- 31:24And that can only be given by God.
- 31:26Cuz he's Al-Mughni.
- 31:28He can give you the form of marriage and
- 31:31it be completely devoid of all emotion.
- 31:36And he can give you wealth
- 31:38and you feel poor, broke.
- 31:41You feel broke, man.
- 31:43Cuz the moment you get that new joint
- 31:45you drive off the lot, you need another
- 31:47one.
- 31:49You drive off the lot, you need another
- 31:51one.
- 31:53Subhanallah.
- 31:54You know, they they show us these
- 31:56extremely wealthy people that flaunt and
- 31:58show and it's just it sometimes it
- 32:00breaks your heart.
- 32:01Because you see what happened.
- 32:03Some of it they all larping anyway, but
- 32:05we can talk about that later.
- 32:07Well, yo, larping actually fits in here
- 32:09low-key. I'll I'll tell you how.
- 32:11I'll tell you how. No, no, for real.
- 32:14We have become so focused
- 32:16on the external form of richness
- 32:19that we even have a term for faking
- 32:21you're externally rich.
- 32:23Yo, do you know what level of delusion
- 32:25we're living in?
- 32:26The prophet said to me saying actual
- 32:28money won't make you rich. And now we're
- 32:31doing what? Larping. Which means what?
- 32:33I'm going to pretend to be fake rich.
- 32:36I'm a fake, fake richness.
- 32:40Yo, Allahu Akbar.
- 32:43I'm going to fake
- 32:45the false form of richness. Oh my god,
- 32:48where are we at? Let me explain. I got
- 32:50you. Sister like, what does he mean? I
- 32:51got you.
- 32:52I got you. Listen.
- 32:54The prophet said you're not rich if you
- 32:56have things.
- 32:57You're rich if your heart is content
- 32:59with what you got, correct?
- 33:01Correct?
- 33:02So, that means richness
- 33:05has nothing to do with what you have.
- 33:07Richness is right here.
- 33:09That little kid in Sudan, boy is rich.
- 33:12Smiling with nothing.
- 33:14That's richness. Do we agree?
- 33:17Cool.
- 33:18Then there's a fake richness.
- 33:20Wealth, amassing things.
- 33:23Like, you have things, but you're empty.
- 33:26That's why it's fake.
- 33:27You have
- 33:29which is an oxymoron. It doesn't even
- 33:30make sense. How can you have and have
- 33:32nothing? That's why the dean is so
- 33:33beautiful. It's like, Allahu Akbar, our
- 33:35religion is so beautiful.
- 33:37So, fake richness is to have a lot of
- 33:39things. You have a lot of wealth, a lot
- 33:40of cars, a lot of
- 33:42You got all this stuff.
- 33:44But it's fake rich.
- 33:45But now we're at a state where people
- 33:48fake
- 33:53fake richness.
- 33:55Does it make sense? Now, y'all in the
- 33:56car right home, they going to break it
- 33:57down to you guys.
- 34:00Got you.
- 34:02But some of You get what I'm saying.
- 34:03Which means, this what it means to me.
- 34:05We have gone so far away
- 34:08from what it means to truly be rich
- 34:11that now we don't even mind faking this
- 34:13form of richness because
- 34:15at least I'm You Subhanallah.
- 34:19Subhanallah.
- 34:20Let's go deeper here though. It's so
- 34:21profound. Allahu Al-Mughni. Allahu
- 34:24Al-Mughni. When you remember that God is
- 34:26Al-Mughni, it forces you to question,
- 34:28how do I consider richness?
- 34:30That's the point of tonight. When you
- 34:32call Al Mughni
- 34:34because you lost your job.
- 34:36And low-key the economy is hard right
- 34:38now, for real for real. All jokes aside.
- 34:41All jokes aside.
- 34:43So so we ask Allah to enrich us.
- 34:47We beg Allah subhana wa ta'ala to enrich
- 34:49us
- 34:50with halal risk.
- 34:51Ameen.
- 34:53Ameen.
- 34:55But the the point I'm trying to make in
- 34:57this is that by knowing who Al Mughni
- 35:00and that's his name, that he enriches,
- 35:02it automatically forces you that when
- 35:04you ask him, "Ya Allah, enrich me."
- 35:07You're automatically saying, "Wait, if
- 35:09Allah is the enriches, I got to ask
- 35:11myself,
- 35:12how do I consider richness?"
- 35:15Now, let me go deeper here.
- 35:17There was a young man by the name of
- 35:18Rabi'ah
- 35:20who used to serve the Prophet sal Allahu
- 35:21alayhi wasallam.
- 35:23And one day
- 35:25he had prepared
- 35:27wudu water for the Prophet sal Allahu
- 35:29alayhi wasallam at Tahajjud time.
- 35:31He prepared wudu water for him. So when
- 35:33the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wasallam
- 35:34got up and the wudu water was ready.
- 35:37You know, that's like subhana Allah,
- 35:38that's like 15-20 minutes right there.
- 35:40So the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi
- 35:41wasallam, he saw the water, he saw
- 35:43Rabi'ah, he said, "Rabi'ah,
- 35:46ask me whatever you want." It's Tahajjud
- 35:48time. Rasul Allah sal Allahu alayhi
- 35:50wasallam is saying, "Ask me whatever."
- 35:52Bro.
- 35:54Do you understand the epicness of this
- 35:56moment?
- 35:57It's Tahajjud time. You already know
- 35:59Allah comes down in the like duas
- 36:00accepted. And the Prophet is saying,
- 36:02"Ask me whatever you want." Whatever you
- 36:04want. You know what he says?
- 36:07He says, "Unzurni hatta anzur." He says,
- 36:09"Give me time. I need to think about
- 36:11it." First of all, that's amazing right
- 36:12there.
- 36:13Just off the strength right there where
- 36:15he's like, "I'll get back to you."
- 36:18Like
- 36:20like your boss walks in and like,
- 36:21"You've been amazing, Fatima. What just
- 36:24whatever you want is yours." You're like
- 36:26you you don't right away. You're like,
- 36:28"Give me a second. I'll get back to
- 36:29you."
- 36:29Cuz you're sharp.
- 36:31The next day the Prophet sees Rabia. He
- 36:34ain't going to let him sit too long. The
- 36:36offer isn't there forever.
- 36:38So, he says, "Rabia, what is it?"
- 36:40He says,
- 36:43"Make dua
- 36:44that I'm your neighbor in Jannah."
- 36:49Hold up. The Prophet You know what he
- 36:50says? He says,
- 36:52"Man, who
- 36:53taught you this?"
- 36:56Like like a hold up. Who taught you? Was
- 36:58it Abu Bakr? Like like who taught you
- 36:59this?
- 37:00"How did you get this?" You know what he
- 37:02said? He said, "No, I realized
- 37:04something." He says, "I realized that
- 37:06this world is fleeting." Allah.
- 37:10He's like,
- 37:11"I realized that this world is fleeting.
- 37:14And because it's fleeting,
- 37:16I saw your position with God.
- 37:19And I knew what to ask for."
- 37:22Now, you know what I actually think?
- 37:25He actually said something in that
- 37:27statement that really opened my mind up.
- 37:29And I I I wrote it down.
- 37:31He says,
- 37:33"No one told me anything.
- 37:34What I can be I learned. I knew.
- 37:37And the dunya when cut here, this dunya
- 37:39is going to end. Why would I ask for
- 37:41money? That's dumb. I have the dua of
- 37:44you. I'm going to ask for money?
- 37:47See, here's what I said. You remember
- 37:48how I said like you want to become
- 37:49famous? Why? Cuz you really want people
- 37:50to accept you and love you. You want
- 37:52money? Why? Cuz you want security. Like
- 37:55he realized
- 37:58he realized something.
- 38:00He realized what he truly wanted.
- 38:03And a lot of us don't know what we truly
- 38:05want.
- 38:07A lot of us in this room don't know.
- 38:09What do you really want, man?
- 38:13Anyways,
- 38:14he says,
- 38:19He says, "I realized this dunya is
- 38:21fleeting
- 38:22and I realized the position that you
- 38:25have
- 38:27with God.
- 38:28Like how close you are with God.
- 38:30So that's the dua I want you to make.
- 38:33That's the dua I
- 38:35I just want to be right next to you. But
- 38:37but you know what's crazy?
- 38:39Why does he want to be right next to
- 38:40him? He said it.
- 38:43Cuz I know how close you are to God.
- 38:47I know how close you are to Allah.
- 38:50This is profound.
- 38:52Because when he realized what he wanted
- 38:54because I I'm speaking about being
- 38:56enriched and need. And I'm asking you
- 38:59what is it that you truly need, what you
- 39:01truly want?
- 39:02Ask Allah for that.
- 39:04And go beyond the external. Let me share
- 39:07one more thing which is so profound.
- 39:09Because everyone needs this reminder,
- 39:11the reminder we're getting right now
- 39:13that Al-Mughni is the one that doesn't
- 39:14just give you the external richness,
- 39:17the form of richness, but the reality of
- 39:20richness which is a heart that is free
- 39:21of need.
- 39:23One time, it was after the Battle of
- 39:25Hunayn.
- 39:27After the Battle of Hunayn,
- 39:29in the Battle of Hunayn,
- 39:31we got a lot of spoils of war,
- 39:33more money than we had ever seen.
- 39:36Here's the backdrop. The Ansar, the
- 39:39people from Medina, they had given all
- 39:41of their money and everything to support
- 39:43the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
- 39:44when he first came.
- 39:45And to support the immigrants that had
- 39:47come from Mecca.
- 39:48So you have to understand, Ansar had
- 39:50given all their money.
- 39:52Everything for who? For the Prophet
- 39:53Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
- 39:55and for the people who migrated from
- 39:57where?
- 39:58Mecca.
- 39:59Now, what happens after the Battle of
- 40:01Hunayn?
- 40:02There's more money than we've ever seen.
- 40:05So now it's time for the Prophet
- 40:06Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to distribute
- 40:08this money.
- 40:09To give it out.
- 40:11Because these were the people in the
- 40:12war, that was the norm of the time.
- 40:13Cool.
- 40:14So So, begins to give it out.
- 40:17But, you know what he does?
- 40:19He gives out
- 40:2199.9%
- 40:23of it
- 40:24to the people of Mecca.
- 40:27To the people of Mecca.
- 40:29I I don't know an analogy that to for us
- 40:31to understand, but you just got to
- 40:33understand the scenario.
- 40:34The people of Medina have protected me
- 40:36for the last 13 years. They've died for
- 40:39me.
- 40:40And the day comes where we have more
- 40:42money at our disposal than ever.
- 40:45Now, think naturally and be real. Where
- 40:48should that money have gone in in your
- 40:50mind? Be real.
- 40:52To the people who sacrificed everything.
- 40:54Correct?
- 40:56So, now the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi
- 40:57wasallam, what does he do?
- 40:59He starts giving it out.
- 41:00And he's giving it out to like
- 41:03brand new Muslims. I'm talking dudes
- 41:06that just converted 24 hours ago.
- 41:08Not that there's anything wrong, but
- 41:10like, yeah, whatever. But, the point is
- 41:13like, they don't even know the deen yet.
- 41:16They don't know anything yet.
- 41:18And I've been Muslim for 13 years.
- 41:22Now, do you get the emotion in the room?
- 41:25You feel me?
- 41:26So, what happens?
- 41:28One of the Sahaba,
- 41:30I think it was a
- 41:31Sa'd ibn Rabi'ah,
- 41:33or Sa'd ibn Malik, one of the
- 41:35leading of the
- 41:37the Ansar, he comes to the Prophet
- 41:39Sallallahu alayhi wasallam and you know
- 41:39what he says? He said, "Ya Rasul Allah,
- 41:43there's a little bit of chatter
- 41:45amongst the Ansar.
- 41:48They're upset
- 41:50that you're giving all this money
- 41:52to the
- 41:54new Muslims of Mecca.
- 41:56Some of these people aren't even Muslim.
- 41:58And we've been by your side this whole
- 42:00time."
- 42:02The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam
- 42:03looked at Sa'd. He goes, "What do you
- 42:04think?"
- 42:06Sa'd is just a messenger. He But, he
- 42:07goes, "I'm just one of my people's
- 42:09people. You know what I mean?" He didn't
- 42:11affirm it. He didn't deny it. The
- 42:13prophet he said, "Call all the Ansar
- 42:15into one tent. I need to talk to them."
- 42:18So, so they gather all the Ansar, all of
- 42:20them.
- 42:21And they're all in a tent.
- 42:24And they come and get the prophet
- 42:25they say, "Ya Rasul Allah, they're all
- 42:27here."
- 42:28Rasul walks in. He says, "Is anybody
- 42:30else here?"
- 42:32They say, "No, it's only Ansar."
- 42:34He goes,
- 42:37"If you wanted to say this, you could
- 42:38say it and it would be true.
- 42:41And you would be true and I would
- 42:42support you. You could say what I'm
- 42:44about to say. You could say that I came
- 42:46rejected and you accepted me.
- 42:48I came poor and you enriched me.
- 42:51I came with nothing and you gave me
- 42:53everything. You could say that to me."
- 42:55This is what he's saying. "You could say
- 42:56that to me and you would be true and I
- 42:58would say you are true."
- 43:01And then he goes,
- 43:03"What's wrong with y'all?
- 43:06These people are going home
- 43:08with gold, silver, goats, and camels.
- 43:13And you're taking me to your home."
- 43:18Now, I got to
- 43:19I didn't do a good job.
- 43:22Because you didn't get what he just
- 43:23said.
- 43:26He said to them,
- 43:27"I gave these people money,
- 43:31but I gave you me."
- 43:33That's what he said.
- 43:36Who was given more?
- 43:38Now, some of us in this room we're so
- 43:41melodious, but we're so disconnected.
- 43:44There's a little shape on in us that
- 43:45like, "Yeah, but the money."
- 43:47It's okay. We'll get there. We'll get
- 43:49there. Ask Allah to open your heart.
- 43:50Wallah, ask Allah to open your heart.
- 43:52Ask Allah to open your heart. Because
- 43:54they realized immediately. They said,
- 43:57"Oh my god.
- 43:58This guy's taking goats home.
- 44:01Goats. Now, goats are are valuable.
- 44:05But I have Rasul Allah coming home me.
- 44:08Why am I sharing this? Because even the
- 44:11greatest of people needed that reset of
- 44:13what is true ghina. What is true
- 44:16richness?
- 44:18And why am I saying this? So that you
- 44:20don't make dua that Allah bless you with
- 44:22a new job. So that you don't make dua
- 44:24that Allah 10x your company. No. I'm
- 44:26saying this so that when the 10x comes,
- 44:30you already had your heart connected to
- 44:31Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala.
- 44:33When you do get married to Prince
- 44:35Charming,
- 44:36you already had your heart still
- 44:37connected with Allah.
- 44:39You all right, but I got Allah.
- 44:43You do get wifey. Amazing. But guess
- 44:46what?
- 44:47You still get what you truly truly need
- 44:50from Al-Mughni.
- 44:52Al-Mughni.
- 44:54Al-Mughni. And so may Allah Subhana Wa
- 44:56Ta'ala enrich us in every meaning of the
- 44:59word enrichment.
- 45:01May he allow us to truly understand what
- 45:04enrichment means. May he allow us to in
- 45:07the case of separation understand that
- 45:09he is Al-Mughni no matter what. May
- 45:12Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala bless us with
- 45:14this true understanding of what it means
- 45:17to be truly rich and what it means to be
- 45:20truly poor. If we understand this,
- 45:23we understand this through the name
- 45:25Al-Mughni.
- 45:27And listen, I'mma say this.
- 45:30Uh yo, do your thing.
- 45:33Make the money, do what you got to do.
- 45:36But trust me.
- 45:38Trust No, don't trust Rasul Allah. I
- 45:40said Allah.
- 45:42It won't give you what you think it's
- 45:43giving you.
- 45:45And as long as you know that there's no
- 45:46pot of gold at the end, go after it,
- 45:48bro.
- 45:50And as long as you know
- 45:52that what you're truly seeking is Allah,
- 45:55and I'll give you the Here's the deal.
- 45:57Here You want the real hack our teachers
- 45:59used to tell us? When you run from the
- 46:01dunya, what does it do?
- 46:03It chases you. They say the dunya, what
- 46:05is dunya? Like this world? The dunya is
- 46:07like your shadow. You go after it, it'll
- 46:09run from you. You run away, it chases
- 46:11after you. That's the dunya.
- 46:13Abdur-Rahman bin Auf died with a
- 46:15portfolio of about $5 billion in today's
- 46:17assets.
- 46:19$5 billion. Abdur-Rahman bin Auf, you
- 46:22could do the math.
- 46:24Do you know what he says?
- 46:25They said, "How are you dying with so
- 46:26much money?
- 46:28It's like not good. Like, bro."
- 46:31He says, "Wallahi, I tried to give it
- 46:32away."
- 46:33Wallahi, I tried to give it away.
- 46:36Every time I gave it away,
- 46:40Allah would just give me.
- 46:42Because he understood what poverty
- 46:44meant, and he understood what wealth
- 46:45meant.
- 46:46And so he kept giving away because he
- 46:48understood that true wealth
- 46:50is the wealth that Allah gives me in my
- 46:51heart, in my relationship with him.
- 46:54So as we ask Allah after salah for
- 46:56wealth,
- 46:57say Al-Mughni. Say that name. Why? So
- 47:00that you remember what the true wealth
- 47:01actually actually is.
- 47:04There are many many big houses all
- 47:05around Dallas.
- 47:07They're not homes though, yo.
- 47:10Do you get what I mean?
- 47:12They're large, man.
- 47:15They're big houses, bro.
- 47:17Frisco.
- 47:19Allen.
- 47:21But they're empty. They're not homes,
- 47:23man.
- 47:24And there's many people living in a
- 47:26small apartment, man. 1,500 square feet,
- 47:28800 square feet. And there's so much joy
- 47:31in that home.
- 47:33Dudes cook She's cooking that. He's
- 47:35doing this. Playing with the kids. It's
- 47:37like life.
- 47:39Big old house. Everyone grumpy, mad at
- 47:41each other.
- 47:44The prophet told us,
- 47:46"True richness is richness of the heart,
- 47:48not richness in your hands." May Allah
- 47:50bless us and allow us to understand
- 47:51that.
- 47:59>> Subhana rabbika rabbil izzati amma
- 48:01yasifun.
- 48:03Wa salamun ala mursalin walhamdullilahi
- 48:05rabbil alameen.
