1. 0:00first and foremost we have to understand
2. 0:01that there's no such thing as certainty
3. 0:03of outcome um and this is why this is
4. 0:05one of the this is a huge difference
5. 0:07between finite mindsets and infinite
6. 0:08mindsets right a finite minded leader
7. 0:11is afraid of surprises and does not like
8. 0:15uncertainty which is why they like to
9. 0:17work work in very short time frames
10. 0:19because you can actually affect quite a
11. 0:21lot of certainty if you only think
12. 0:23quarter to quarter maybe
13. 0:25year to year but if you start thinking
14. 0:26in five and ten year increments
15. 0:28we all know we have zero control over
16. 0:31those outcomes so finite minded players
17. 0:33like to play with very short time frames
18. 0:35because it makes them feel better even
19. 0:37though the game is infinite so it's
20. 0:39actually again sort of a stupid idea
21. 0:42infinite infinite-minded players embrace
22. 0:44uncertainty and find opportunity in
23. 0:47surprise and so where something goes
24. 0:50wrong or different and just as an aside
25. 0:52i got such a kick out of when kovitz
26. 0:54struck you know everybody was talking
27. 0:56about during these uncertain times
28. 0:58news flash all times are uncertain
29. 1:00there's never been a time in history
30. 1:02ever that was certain all that happened
31. 1:04was something that we didn't expect took
32. 1:06place that reminded us
33. 1:08that time is uncertain
34. 1:09and for the finite minded players the
35. 1:11immediate reaction was panic right
36. 1:14um what am i going to do how am i going
37. 1:17to survive and try to double down on the
38. 1:19old way of doing things hoping that if i
39. 1:22just did it more or at least attempt to
40. 1:23do it online that i would that it would
41. 1:26survive right the more infinite-minded
42. 1:28players and this has nothing to do with
43. 1:30stress we can still have high stress
44. 1:31with the with with what was going on but
45. 1:34the more infinite-minded players saw the
46. 1:36sudden change in their business and saw
47. 1:38and thought okay this is an opportunity
48. 1:41what can i do with this
49. 1:42and instead of doubling down on the way
50. 1:44they used to do things but doing it
51. 1:46online they said okay the times have
52. 1:48changed the way i operate my business
53. 1:50have changed all the things that i used
54. 1:52to be able to do like having lunch with
55. 1:53people can't do any more
56. 1:56so given what i know now if if i was
57. 1:58starting from scratch i have something
58. 2:01really valuable and important how would
59. 2:02i build my business today to still
60. 2:04provide the value to the people who are
61. 2:06looking for the thing that i offer and
62. 2:08that was their mentality their mentality
63. 2:10was very entrepreneurial their mentality
64. 2:12was very creative
65. 2:15and they though it may have caused
66. 2:16stress there was an appreciation for the
67. 2:18opportunity
