- 2:23so with all of that being said let's get
- 2:25into the video
- 2:26today we are going to be discussing the
- 2:28very disturbing case of alison batha
- 2:31alison botha was born on september 22nd
- 2:341967 in port elizabeth south africa
- 2:37she seemed to have a relatively normal
- 2:39childhood as far as i saw
- 2:41but her parents got divorced when she
- 2:43was 10 years old so she lived most of
- 2:45her life with her mother claire and her
- 2:47brother neil
- 2:47she was described as others by confident
- 2:50and adventurous but she sort of
- 2:52described herself
- 2:53as ordinary not really standing out too
- 2:55much and she didn't really have
- 2:56a set direction in her life that she
- 2:58wanted to go in for quite a while
- 3:00she went to school and was the head girl
- 3:02at the collegiate high school for girls
- 3:04and port elizabeth she went to
- 3:05university for a secretarial degree and
- 3:07when she graduated she spent about four
- 3:09years
- 3:10traveling around before she returned
- 3:12home to port elizabeth to settle down
- 3:14and start a career as an insurance
- 3:16broker
- 3:16now sunday december 18 1994
- 3:19started as a pretty normal day for 27
- 3:22year old allison
- 3:23she had gone to the beach for the day
- 3:24with some friends before they headed
- 3:26back to allison's apartment for some
- 3:28pizza and to play a game called
- 3:30balderdash
- 3:31all the friends had a pretty fun day
- 3:33before her friends decided to call it a
- 3:35night at around 1am
- 3:36earlier allison had actually offered to
- 3:38drive one of her friends kim home
- 3:40so she went ahead and did that and then
- 3:42returned back to her apartment now
- 3:44normally allison had a pretty nice
- 3:46parking spot in her apartment complex
- 3:48which was only a short walk away from
- 3:50her unit
- 3:51however when she got home she realized
- 3:52that the spot had actually been taken
- 3:54so she had to drive around and search
- 3:56for a new one that wasn't too far away
- 3:59and eventually she did find a spot but
- 4:01the spot was right under a big tree
- 4:03and the area was already pretty poorly
- 4:06lit
- 4:06and this tree just blocked the light
- 4:08even more so
- 4:09it was pretty dark where she had ended
- 4:11up parking but at this point she was
- 4:13pretty
- 4:14tired and was ready to just head
- 4:15upstairs take a shower and go to bed
- 4:18so she had reached over in her car to
- 4:20grab the laundry bag out of the
- 4:21passenger side of her car
- 4:23before heading out to the apartment
- 4:25however as she was doing so
- 4:27she was leaned over in the passenger
- 4:29seat grabbing the bag
- 4:30she suddenly felt a warm gush of air she
- 4:33looked over
- 4:34only to see that a tall skinny white man
- 4:37with blonde hair
- 4:38had swung the door open and was now
- 4:40standing there with a knife
- 4:42and it was her driver's side door so she
- 4:44was faced away from him
- 4:46when he opened the door so after this he
- 4:48leaned over to her and said in a quiet
- 4:51but very serious tone
- 4:53move over or i'll kill you so she did
- 4:55exactly
- 4:56that she moved over to the passenger
- 4:58seat of her car
- 4:59after she moved this man got into the
- 5:01driver's seat of the car
- 5:02and just started driving of course
- 5:05allison
- 5:06was absolutely terrified and completely
- 5:09frozen in
- 5:10fear but after a few minutes of driving
- 5:12this man
- 5:13introduced himself as clinton and
- 5:15assured her by saying i don't want to
- 5:17hurt you i just need to use your car
- 5:19for an hour and of course allison really
- 5:22didn't know what to think
- 5:23but she wanted to believe him she went
- 5:26through
- 5:26all of these different scenarios in her
- 5:28head she thought of maybe just
- 5:30jumping out of the car doing something
- 5:33but
- 5:34she was just frozen she just begged the
- 5:36man to please just let her out of the
- 5:38car
- 5:39she said that you know you can take the
- 5:41car just to let her go
- 5:43but he said no he told her that he was
- 5:46looking for someone who owed him money
- 5:48and that he wouldn't be long
- 5:49and what he had to do so the man drove
- 5:52for a little bit longer before arriving
- 5:54in a different area of port elizabeth
- 5:56once he got there he finally found the
- 5:58person that he had been searching for
- 6:00he pulled over and told this man to get
- 6:02into his car
- 6:04he introduced this man to allison as
- 6:06duns
- 6:07and told thunder that this was his new
- 6:09friend allison
- 6:10after suns got into the car clinton
- 6:12drove to the outskirts of port elizabeth
- 6:15to an area that was completely isolated
- 6:18it was a very desolate area in the bush
- 6:20with
- 6:21absolutely nothing around at this point
- 6:24allison knew that something horrible was
- 6:26about to happen to her
- 6:27but nobody could have predicted the
- 6:30level
- 6:30of brutality and violence that she was
- 6:33about to endure
- 6:34so clinton whose real name was actually
- 6:36friends to tweet
- 6:37and duns told allison that they were
- 6:39going to have sex with her and
- 6:41asked her if she was going to fight them
- 6:43obviously
- 6:44she was trapped she was isolated there
- 6:46was absolutely nowhere for her to go
- 6:48and she was absolutely terrified so she
- 6:51told them no
- 6:52she wasn't going to fight them what
- 6:53happens next is very disturbing
- 6:56it's very graphic and very violent so i
- 6:59just wanted to go ahead and warn you now
- 7:00because it is very difficult to hear but
- 7:04after this both of them brutally raped
- 7:06alison
- 7:07one after the other after that they
- 7:10tried to suffocate her until she fell
- 7:12unconscious
- 7:13at this point they had tried to kill her
- 7:15but alison was still
- 7:16alive despite them trying to suffocate
- 7:18her so
- 7:19the two of them became very frustrated
- 7:22and the two
- 7:23started stabbing her they stabbed her
- 7:26upwards of
- 7:2636 times in the abdomen and they were
- 7:29actually trying to target her
- 7:31reproductive organs
- 7:32after stabbing her they thought that she
- 7:34was dead but then her leg twitched and
- 7:37they realized that she was not dead yet
- 7:39so they decided to take it a step
- 7:41further and they slit her throat
- 7:4317 times it was later described that as
- 7:46she was laying there
- 7:48on top of a bunch of broken glass and
- 7:50sand
- 7:51the man was just standing above her and
- 7:54all she could see
- 7:55was his arms moving left and right and
- 7:57left and right over her face as he was
- 7:59slitting her throat
- 8:01this entire time she was completely
- 8:04aware of
- 8:05everything that was being done to her by
- 8:07these two men
- 8:08eventually the two men stepped away and
- 8:10the two men looked at her and spoke to
- 8:12each other in africans
- 8:13one man asked do you think she's dead
- 8:15and the other man replied
- 8:17no one can survive that at this point
- 8:19alison
- 8:20was still alive and as she heard them
- 8:22talking she kept hearing
- 8:23this rasping sound the sound was
- 8:26actually coming from her throat
- 8:28and from bleeding from her horrific
- 8:30injuries
- 8:31to her this noise sounded so loud
- 8:35so she tried to do whatever she could to
- 8:37stop this noise because she was afraid
- 8:39that they would
- 8:40hear but she also wanted to make sure
- 8:42that she stayed completely still
- 8:44because she didn't want them to know
- 8:45that she was still alive
- 8:47but then as she was laying there she
- 8:49felt something being
- 8:50thrown on her she didn't know what it
- 8:53was but at that point it didn't really
- 8:55matter and so she just stayed and laid
- 8:57there and did not move a muscle
- 8:59she just laid there until she heard them
- 9:01walk away and listened as their voices
- 9:04got more faint
- 9:05and finally she heard the men get into
- 9:07her car and drive away
- 9:09leaving her completely alone to just die
- 9:12there
- 9:13at this point she was sure that she was
- 9:15going to die
- 9:16so she took every last ounce of strength
- 9:18that she had to
- 9:20leave some clues around her about who
- 9:22did this to her
- 9:23she had actually caught the names of
- 9:25both of these men throughout the attack
- 9:27because they just
- 9:27kept talking to each other so she at
- 9:30least knew the names of these two men
- 9:32so she wrote their names in the sand and
- 9:34beneath that
- 9:35she wrote i love mom she was just
- 9:38laying there wondering how she was going
- 9:40to possibly survive this
- 9:43but then she saw headlights beaming
- 9:45through the bushes
- 9:47it was a car on the road that was
- 9:48driving past her
- 9:50this gave her the motivation that she
- 9:52needed to know
- 9:53that there was still a possibility that
- 9:55there was somebody out there
- 9:56who could help her she had tried to get
- 9:59up but she had been attacked
- 10:00so bad that her intestines were actually
- 10:03falling out of her abdomen
- 10:04but she had noticed that the item that
- 10:06one of the men had
- 10:08thrown on her was actually her denim
- 10:10jacket so she picked it up and used that
- 10:12to
- 10:13compress the area and control everything
- 10:15that was going on and put everything
- 10:17back inside
- 10:18then somehow she was able to get up
- 10:21she managed to crawl through the dirt
- 10:23and all of the broken glass
- 10:25as she was doing this though she just
- 10:27kept getting more
- 10:28and more exhausted until she collapsed
- 10:31into the ground
- 10:32but through this exhaustion she just
- 10:35kept thinking of her mother and that
- 10:37gave her the strength to keep going
- 10:39she kept crawling but that was just
- 10:41taking way too much strength and way too
- 10:44much energy
- 10:45so she managed to get up onto her feet
- 10:47to start walking
- 10:48but when she was on her feet she just
- 10:50fell back
- 10:51and at that point that's when she
- 10:53realized just how badly her throat had
- 10:56been cut
- 10:57her head fell back and she lost her
- 10:59vision
- 11:00she had nearly been decapitated from how
- 11:04bad the injuries to her throat were so
- 11:06she used one of her free hands to
- 11:08push her head back forward and she got
- 11:10her vision back
- 11:12she literally had to use one free hand
- 11:14to keep her head on her neck
- 11:16and the other one to hold her denim
- 11:18jacket up on her abdomen to
- 11:20keep everything compressed but she
- 11:22managed to do this and she managed to
- 11:24keep trudging forward towards the road
- 11:26but as she was doing so her vision was
- 11:29just going in
- 11:30and out and in and out until she
- 11:32eventually got to
- 11:34the road once she reached the road she
- 11:36just collapsed onto the white line
- 11:38she knew that her best bet was just to
- 11:41lay there and hopefully be noticed by
- 11:43someone who was driving by
- 11:44there were actually two cars who had saw
- 11:47her
- 11:47and then slowed down next to her but
- 11:49then just sped off
- 11:50it's kind of disgraceful but then
- 11:53thankfully
- 11:54there was another car on the road that
- 11:56did see allison
- 11:57and did decide to stop a 20 year old man
- 12:00named tian ellard had gotten out of the
- 12:03car to see what was going on
- 12:05tian was a vet student from johansenburg
- 12:07on vacation with some friends in port
- 12:09elizabeth
- 12:10at the time he had gotten out of his car
- 12:12to help this woman and realized that she
- 12:14was still
- 12:15alive he then used his veterinary
- 12:17experience to help stabilize everything
- 12:19and help keep her conscious
- 12:21he covered her up and just kept talking
- 12:23to her this entire time
- 12:25to keep her awake thankfully one of
- 12:27tien's friends had a cell phone so they
- 12:29were able to call an ambulance for her
- 12:31they actually ended up waiting 45
- 12:33minutes to an hour it's been
- 12:35reported a little bit differently so i'm
- 12:37not exactly sure how long
- 12:39but they waited for quite a while before
- 12:42an ambulance eventually arrived
- 12:44so at that point it kind of seemed like
- 12:46she was just dead
- 12:47she wasn't going to survive and there
- 12:49was nothing that anybody could do
- 12:50to help her when she arrived at the
- 12:52hospital doctors were
- 12:54absolutely horrified at her condition dr
- 12:57alexander angelov went on to say that in
- 13:00his 16
- 13:01years as a doctor he has never seen
- 13:03anybody with such severe
- 13:05injuries she was on the brink of death
- 13:08and they
- 13:08were confident that there was no way
- 13:10that she was going to pull through
- 13:12they described her condition as being
- 13:14absolutely filthy
- 13:16her entire body was covered in a thin
- 13:19layer of black
- 13:20dirt her eyes were just a bloodshot her
- 13:22hair was matted her feet were lacerated
- 13:25and her fingernails were completely
- 13:27black
- 13:28her neck had been cut all the way across
- 13:30and like i said earlier
- 13:32her head was barely hanging on and also
- 13:35like i said earlier she had been stabbed
- 13:3736 times in her abdomen and her pubic
- 13:40area
- 13:41she ended up being in surgery for three
- 13:43hours they actually had to wash her
- 13:45intestines in a saline solution before
- 13:48reorganizing them back into her and
- 13:50stitching her up
- 13:51they reconstructed her neck and
- 13:54thankfully
- 13:55somehow by the grace of god her
- 13:57attackers had
- 13:58missed her carotid artery and her
- 14:00esophagus your carotid artery
- 14:03is basically your lifeline if that's cut
- 14:06your brain
- 14:06is not going to have the blood and
- 14:08oxygen it needs
- 14:10so if that had been cut she definitely
- 14:12wouldn't have survived this but
- 14:14thankfully they just didn't get it it
- 14:17was absolutely incredible
- 14:18and she did end up surviving her surgery
- 14:21with minimal remaining impairments but
- 14:23the doctors thought that she probably
- 14:25wasn't going to be able to go on to have
- 14:27kids due to the severity of the wounds
- 14:30to her reproductive organs
- 14:32but either way she was conscious and she
- 14:34was able to
- 14:35vividly remember everything about her
- 14:37attack
- 14:38including who the men were and what they
- 14:41looked like
- 14:41so police brought allison a book full of
- 14:44pictures of
- 14:45a bunch of different offenders from
- 14:46around the area and she was able to
- 14:48point them out
- 14:49right away now these two men actually
- 14:52had a very concerning and infuriating
- 14:55history of sexual violence against women
- 14:58so now i'm gonna go ahead and talk about
- 15:00the history of things leading up
- 15:01to allison's attack in february of 1994
- 15:05friends to tweet did a similar thing to
- 15:08a 19 year old girl
- 15:09he surprised her too by opening up the
- 15:11door of her car
- 15:12and telling her to move to the passenger
- 15:14seat he then drove to a secluded area
- 15:17and proceeded to
- 15:18rape her he then drove to a nearby cafe
- 15:21and then got her dinner and gave her a
- 15:24rose
- 15:25however after this attack he got her
- 15:27back into the car
- 15:28drove her to another secluded location
- 15:31and assaulted her once again
- 15:33after that he drove her back to the city
- 15:35and let her go
- 15:36of course this young woman reported the
- 15:38rape and he was
- 15:40arrested but he was released on bail by
- 15:42early december of that year
- 15:44both him and duns had approached a 21
- 15:46year old pregnant woman and then they
- 15:48threatened her
- 15:49with a gun made her walk to a secluded
- 15:52area and then
- 15:52they both raped her they ended up
- 15:54letting her go too
- 15:56and she also reported the rape and they
- 15:58were both arrested
- 15:59but of course they were both released
- 16:01shortly after
- 16:02at this point the judge said that he
- 16:04didn't know that franz had the other
- 16:06rape charge
- 16:07but it didn't really matter because they
- 16:09shouldn't have never been released in
- 16:11the first place
- 16:12this was a violent attack doesn't matter
- 16:14if it's their first time or not
- 16:16i can just never understand how a judge
- 16:19can see two men who literally held a
- 16:21woman
- 16:22at gunpoint especially a pregnant woman
- 16:24and then
- 16:25raped her and thought hmm they're
- 16:27probably not gonna do it again so
- 16:29let's just let them out and await their
- 16:31trial because then
- 16:32as we know two weeks after they were
- 16:35released on
- 16:36bail in december of 1994 the two
- 16:39kidnapped raped and attempted to murder
- 16:42alison botha
- 16:43when they did this to allison they knew
- 16:44that they couldn't just leave her alive
- 16:46because the other two women had reported
- 16:48their rapes and they didn't
- 16:50want to get caught this time so they
- 16:52figured we need to kill her this time to
- 16:54make sure we don't get caught
- 16:56it's absolutely ridiculous and it's very
- 16:58predictable yet somehow this judge
- 17:00didn't think that that would happen and
- 17:02just
- 17:02let them out it's absolutely appalling
- 17:05and
- 17:06i really hope things have changed in
- 17:07south africa so now going back to when
- 17:09allison had
- 17:10woken up from surgery she was able to
- 17:13remember
- 17:14exactly what her attackers looked like
- 17:15and she identified them
- 17:17right away so shortly after this police
- 17:19were able to locate them
- 17:21and they were arrested so since krueger
- 17:23was the first to be interviewed and when
- 17:25he was given the news that he was being
- 17:27charged with attempted murder and rape
- 17:29he was very surprised the two were very
- 17:32confident that they had killed her but
- 17:34as we know
- 17:35they hadn't so right away thunds handed
- 17:38over the
- 17:39knife that they used for alison's attack
- 17:42as well as the jewelry that they had
- 17:43stolen from her
- 17:45franz was then questioned as well and he
- 17:47too admitted
- 17:48everything they both showed absolutely
- 17:51zero emotion
- 17:52or remorse for anything that they had
- 17:54done and they actually
- 17:56informed police that they had planned on
- 17:58raping another woman the
- 18:00very next day and they were going to
- 18:01throw her off of a bridge
- 18:03then the two came out and said that the
- 18:06reason that they were committing all of
- 18:08these disgusting and horrific crimes was
- 18:10because
- 18:11they were involved in satanism they said
- 18:13that they were possessed by
- 18:15demons and these demons were the ones
- 18:16who were telling them to do all of these
- 18:18crimes
- 18:19and of course the media ran wild with
- 18:22this
- 18:22this was around the time in the early
- 18:2590s when the satanic panic was running
- 18:27rampant in south africa
- 18:29in 1992 they had actually created a task
- 18:32force that was responsible specifically
- 18:35for crimes related to the occult
- 18:37so it was kind of obvious that the two
- 18:39were just using all of this
- 18:41panic and media outrage to make up
- 18:44excuses for what they did
- 18:45and try to blame it on some random
- 18:47demons but
- 18:49nobody believed them then after the men
- 18:51were arrested of course they went to
- 18:53trial
- 18:54obviously the prosecution had a very
- 18:56strong case against them
- 18:57they had all of the evidence from that
- 18:59night as well
- 19:01as allison's testimony by august of 1995
- 19:04both of them were found guilty of eight
- 19:06charges which included
- 19:08two counts of kidnapping two counts of
- 19:10indecent assault
- 19:11two counts of rape one count of
- 19:14aggravated robbery and one count of
- 19:16attempted murder
- 19:17the two are being charged with allison's
- 19:19assault and then the assault on the
- 19:21pregnant woman that we discussed earlier
- 19:23friends to tweet was handed three life
- 19:25sentences and offense krueger was handed
- 19:27a life sentence
- 19:28plus 25 years the judge made it very
- 19:31clear
- 19:31that he wanted these two men behind bars
- 19:34for the rest of their lives
- 19:37so now rewinding just a little bit
- 19:40alison had stayed in the hospital for
- 19:42three weeks and she was recovering from
- 19:44her injuries
- 19:45while she was there news about her
- 19:47attack was spreading all around south
- 19:49africa
- 19:49and support for her came absolutely
- 19:52pouring in
- 19:53thousands of people sent her cards and
- 19:56letters
- 19:56and flowers everybody admired her grit
- 20:00and her strength
- 20:01people had come to visit her in the
- 20:03hospital and they were absolutely
- 20:05horrified at her condition but
- 20:07apparently she was just
- 20:09sitting there and cracking jokes and had
- 20:11such a positive
- 20:12attitude it was absolutely incredible
- 20:15after she left the hospital she did get
- 20:17to go home but her care was not done
- 20:20there she had to go back to the hospital
- 20:22pretty much every day for continued care
- 20:24for her surgical sites so that she
- 20:26wouldn't have any infections or any
- 20:28further complications
- 20:30it was a very slow painful and grueling
- 20:33process
- 20:34but she made it through but even though
- 20:36she had recovered and the men
- 20:38responsible had been put behind
- 20:40bars allison still had so many things
- 20:43she had to deal with
- 20:44as a result of the attack she wasn't
- 20:47able to work and she fell into a very
- 20:49severe and deep
- 20:51depression she didn't know how she was
- 20:53going to continue on with her life after
- 20:56this
- 20:56so she decided to take what happened to
- 20:59her
- 20:59and speak out and share her story she
- 21:02quit her job with the insurance firm and
- 21:04started traveling all around the world
- 21:06to tell her story in so many different
- 21:08countries
- 21:09she was actually one of the first women
- 21:12from south africa to speak out publicly
- 21:14about rape
- 21:15her story inspired so many other
- 21:17survivors to come forward and share
- 21:19their stories
- 21:21by 1995 she won the rotarian paul harris
- 21:24award for
- 21:25courage beyond the norm as well as the
- 21:27feminine magazine's woman of
- 21:28courage award she was also later honored
- 21:31as poor elizabeth's citizen of the year
- 21:34she also went on to get married to
- 21:36tianibatha in february of 1997.
- 21:39her and tani had actually known each
- 21:41other for many years
- 21:42but about a year after her attack the
- 21:44two had met again
- 21:45at a friend's house the two connected
- 21:48because both had experiences of trauma
- 21:50teeny had unsolved childhood trauma that
- 21:53he was still battling and alison
- 21:55was battling her own depression the two
- 21:57were able to help each other out of
- 21:59their
- 21:59own personal darknesses and through that
- 22:02they fell in love
- 22:03and they knew that they wanted to spend
- 22:05the rest of their lives together
- 22:07then by november 14th of 2003 she gave
- 22:10birth to her son
- 22:11daniel and then went on to have another
- 22:13baby boy named
- 22:14matthew a few years after that she also
- 22:17went on to publish
- 22:19two books one was called i have a life
- 22:21allison's journey as told
- 22:23by marian tham and published in 1998.
- 22:27she then went on to publish her book for
- 22:28the tough times in 2002.
- 22:31she also has a movie about her attack
- 22:33which came out in 2016.
- 22:36she continued traveling all over the
- 22:38country to tell her story and
- 22:40so many people have come out to her and
- 22:42told her that
- 22:43her story inspired them and some people
- 22:46have even said that her story has saved
- 22:48their life
- 22:49because they feel less alone in their
- 22:51own personal experiences of violence and
- 22:54rape
- 22:54she once said quote life can sometimes
- 22:58make us feel like the victim
- 23:00problems and hardships and traumas are
- 23:02dished out to all of us and sometimes
- 23:04they can be divided very
- 23:05unfairly remind yourself that you do not
- 23:08have to take responsibility for what
- 23:10others do
- 23:11life is not a collection of what happens
- 23:14to you but how have you responded to
- 23:16what has happened to you
- 23:17she chooses not to live her life as a
- 23:20victim and used what happened her as a
- 23:22motivating factor to do
- 23:24better for herself and help as many
- 23:26people as she can
- 23:27along the way people have often asked me
- 23:30well what made me survive
- 23:32what made me fine and if i only got to
- 23:34give them a sentence the sentence is
- 23:37because i was worth getting up for
- 23:40because i was worth fighting for
- 23:42and that ladies and mothers
- 23:46is not something that i was told then at
- 23:49the moment
- 23:50my mother was not with me at that moment
- 23:53and you as mothers are not going to be
- 23:55with your children when they face their
- 23:56doctor's eye
- 23:59all they're going to have from you is
- 24:00what you've implanted in them
- 24:03when you bring them up
- 24:06all you're going to have in your times
- 24:08when you've got the spare time
- 24:09in your own life is what you've planted
- 24:11in it now things are going okay
- 24:14so don't just waste the time when things
- 24:15are going okay
- 24:17nurture it in yourself show your
- 24:18children by example
- 24:20what it means to live a life of worth
- 24:23but i see words in myself now of course
- 24:25that goes to that everyone else is just
- 24:27as worthy as you so you've got to have
- 24:28the empathy which is huge for me as well
- 24:30but this is my core thing that i know
- 24:32saved my life
- 24:33start with you don't ignore you alison
- 24:36botha is truly
- 24:37such an inspiration and i can't even
- 24:39imagine the courage that it takes to
- 24:41talk about such a horrific
- 24:43incident in front of millions of people
- 24:45like she has
- 24:46even alone just the fact that she
- 24:48survived this entire thing is
- 24:50absolutely incredible and shows how much
- 24:53of a freaking
- 24:54fighter she is she was not going to give
- 24:57up and she continues
- 24:59to this day to show just how strong
- 25:02she is but she's also helped so many
- 25:05people come forward with their
- 25:06own experiences and has taught millions
- 25:09of young women how to cope with what
- 25:11they've personally gone through and
- 25:13that's truly amazing but that is all i
- 25:16have for today's video
