2. 0:03the stand for another day of testimony
3. 0:04prosecutors now accusing the former
4. 0:06attorney of coming up with a new Alibi
5. 0:08right in the middle of this trial he is
6. 0:10charged with murdering his wife and son
7. 0:12and now he's taking questions from
8. 0:14prosecutors let's get out to Fox 35's
9. 0:16Caroline Elliott she is joining us live
10. 0:18in South Carolina tonight so Caroline
11. 0:20what else happened in court today
12. 0:24well John Luanne we were expecting the
13. 0:27defense to wrap up today but after Alec
14. 0:29Murdoch's surprise testimony prosecutors
15. 0:32certainly had a lot more questions the
16. 0:35state is now trying to convince this
17. 0:37jury that Alec murdaugh changed his
18. 0:39entire Alibi to better fit the evidence
19. 0:42in this case
20. 0:43the reality is Mr Murdoch is the reason
21. 0:46why no one's ever heard that before is
22. 0:49because you had to sit in this courtroom
23. 0:50and hear your family and your friends
24. 0:52one after the other come in and testify
25. 0:54that you were on that kennel video so
26. 0:56you like you've done so many times over
27. 0:58the course of your life had to back up
28. 1:00and make a new story that kind of fit
29. 1:02with the facts that can't be denied
30. 1:03isn't that true sir no sir that's not
31. 1:06true
32. 1:08a key part of evidence in this trial is
33. 1:12a Snapchat video recorded by the dog
34. 1:14kennels at the family's property many
35. 1:16friends and family have identified Alex
36. 1:19Maggie's and Paul's voice in this video
37. 1:21during the trial the video was recorded
38. 1:24shortly before Maggie and Paul were
39. 1:26murdered in the same area which
40. 1:29prosecutors claim it puts Alec at the
41. 1:31crime scene Alec initially told
42. 1:33investigators that he wasn't by the dog
43. 1:35kennels right before their murders but
44. 1:38he revealed yesterday on the stand that
45. 1:40was a lie and said he's been lying to
46. 1:43investigators this entire time because
47. 1:45he's struggled with paranoid thoughts
48. 1:47during his drug addiction the second
49. 1:50that you're confronted with facts that
50. 1:52you can't deny you immediately come up
51. 1:55with a new lie
52. 1:58isn't that correct
53. 2:00Mr Waters have we established I have
54. 2:03lied many times but I can't sit here and
55. 2:06tell you that what are you talking about
56. 2:07facts that I can't deny that I I would
57. 2:11disagree with that proposition that
58. 2:13you're putting out
59. 2:17his testimony this afternoon and we're
60. 2:20expecting closing arguments to begin
