110. 5:14she was very good

113. 5:24um I told her I was going to get off the
114. 5:25phone to call some family members

118. 5:36how many family members did you call
119. 5:38anyone I call my brother Randy
120. 5:41and I called my brother John
121. 5:47and I tried to call the little boy real
122. 5:50good friend that's right around the
123. 5:52corner from here but I didn't get him

147. 6:59and I knew she'd gone to the kennel I
148. 7:02was at the house
149. 7:04I left the house and went to my mom's

156. 7:25was obviously nobody was in there so I
157. 7:28figured they're still up here fooling

160. 7:33our sunflowers seeds got sprayed and
161. 7:36died and he was refiguring to do to
162. 7:40plant the sunflower seeds so I came back
163. 7:43up here
164. 7:44and I drove up and saw
165. 7:50and called
166. 7:58had Maggie and Paul been arguing over
167. 8:00anything no
168. 8:02what was their relationship like

172. 8:11here and there but we had a wonderful
173. 8:12marriage wonderful relationship

196. 9:28you know he was charged with being
197. 9:30arrested for being a driver there's been
198. 9:33a lot of negative publicity about that
199. 9:35and there's been a lot of people online
200. 9:37just really vile stuff but when Paul's
201. 9:42out and about I mean people routinely I
202. 9:45don't think I know the full story
203. 9:48um because I don't think they give it to
204. 9:50me but I mean he's been punched and hit
205. 9:54and just attacked a lot so
206. 9:57you know but I mean nothing like this
207. 10:00yeah any any one person in particular or
208. 10:04group of people
209. 10:08that you could think of
210. 10:11not that I know no sir
211. 10:13as he was other than being assaulted has
212. 10:16he received any direct threats related
213. 10:18to the boat accident oh yes
214. 10:21all the time recently
215. 10:25um yes I mean he gets them all the time
216. 10:28okay he gets them all the time
217. 10:32what kind of I mean
218. 10:34I'm gonna kick your ass you know
219. 10:40I've never been privy firsthand you know
220. 10:44um
221. 10:45is that through social media or no ma'am
222. 10:47it's mostly like if if he goes out
223. 10:50places is what
224. 10:52you know what he goes out like somewhere
225. 10:55he's in college so if he goes out
226. 10:58is what I understand and I can find out
227. 11:01better details from some of his younger
228. 11:03friends on that

273. 13:17but I hadn't told him this yet Paul's
274. 13:19been working with him a lot he killed
275. 13:21the sunflower seeds in our dove field
276. 13:23just recently which is why Paul was here
277. 13:25doing this he told Paul the story the
278. 13:28other day about how when he was in high
279. 13:31school he got in a fight with some black
280. 13:34guys oh and the FBI undercover team
281. 13:38observed him fighting those guys and put
282. 13:42him on an undercover team with three
283. 13:45Navy Seals and their job was to kill
284. 13:48radical Black Panthers and they did that
285. 13:51from Myrtle Beach to Savannah
286. 13:54now I really don't think this guy
287. 13:58you know
288. 14:00is probably the person but
289. 14:04that's just so freaking yeah that's kind
290. 14:07of far-fetched but he was off today
291. 14:11he took his daddy to the doctor
292. 14:14what's his name C.B Rowe
293. 14:17r-o-w-e yeah and I sent him a message to
294. 14:20text me earlier today
295. 14:23about the sunflowers and he called me
296. 14:25back when I was on the way to my mom's
297. 14:28house
298. 14:30did you talk to him at that time briefly
299. 14:33I was on the phone with a lawyer friend
300. 14:35of mine named Chris Wilson from Bamberg
301. 14:37so I told him I'd call him back tomorrow
302. 14:39see him in the morning

304. 14:43um Mr Rowe what was his demeanor or
305. 14:46attitude or
306. 14:52I asked him about the sunflowers and so
307. 14:55you know I mean
308. 14:58I'm sure he's a little bit
309. 15:01where does he live I don't exactly know
310. 15:04somewhere in Bluff I mean in Bronson

312. 15:08do you have his phone number I do
313. 15:11you got it with your voice sir I do
314. 15:15I do feel like he got crazy eyes him and
315. 15:18the other kids I do think him and Paul
316. 15:19got along pretty well

324. 15:44ended for the day I can tell you we
325. 15:46didn't miss nothing didn't even get to

329. 15:51stuff it means nothing I think Vic's had
330. 15:54said something earlier but they're done
331. 15:56for the day and I honestly I'm glad
332. 15:59I hope when they start back they
333. 16:01actually start the defense hopefully
334. 16:03but this is um so this should be three
335. 16:06three out of five okay we're gonna watch

363. 17:57but for all this weirdness I mean I do
364. 18:00think they like
365. 18:02I mean they got along okay pretty good
366. 18:05how long have they been working here I

369. 18:10three or four pay periods so
370. 18:14um
371. 18:16eight weeks a couple months okay
372. 18:25going back to the boat incident

374. 18:29anybody on that boat
375. 18:37really have a hard on for ball
376. 18:40that you would think would come after
377. 18:41him or know of any direct threats from
378. 18:44people on the boat
379. 18:46I don't know of any
380. 18:48direct threats between any of the people
381. 18:51on the boat specifically but I do think
382. 18:54there's been a
383. 18:55small amount of yep Yap between a couple
384. 18:58of them but not recently okay
385. 19:03stuff from people that Paul didn't
386. 19:05really know okay
387. 19:08it was some people that he knew
388. 19:10distantly but
389. 19:12more times than not when I learned about
390. 19:14it
391. 19:15it was somebody that he didn't know
392. 19:19okay
393. 19:21um it's like for example he went out in
394. 19:23Charleston a couple months ago came back
395. 19:25you know he got a black eye and you know
396. 19:28he can't defend himself right now
397. 19:30because he has these charges so you know
398. 19:33he would pause a real tough man's man
399. 19:36you know he would just
400. 19:41he would defend himself but he hadn't
401. 19:43been that's right but how is he handling
402. 19:46that case moving over everybody
403. 19:50as far as what how was he handling it
404. 19:53I've never been prouder of him than the
405. 19:56way he has handled the pressures and the
406. 19:58adversity
407. 20:00in that situation I think I've told

433. 21:04a Beretta I can't remember which brand
434. 21:07it is
435. 21:15but I don't think it was out here okay

437. 21:21but I'm not positive and the shotgun
438. 21:24that you had when deputies pulled up
439. 21:26where did that come come from I went to
440. 21:28the house and I got a gun
441. 21:31probably overreacting but
442. 21:34and it was that when you pulled up and
443. 21:36saw them no I mean I came out and me and
444. 21:40I called 9-1-1 first
445. 21:43talked to them for a little while then I
446. 21:45told her
447. 21:48I told her that I was
448. 21:50that I was going to go to the house okay
449. 21:52and then I would let authorities know
450. 21:54when they got here that I had a gun okay
451. 22:00do you happen to have a list of all your
452. 22:02guns I can make one I don't have one but
453. 22:05I can make one okay well I'm just saying
454. 22:07you know so we could compare if that
455. 22:09shotgun was out here and now it's
456. 22:10missing absolutely um try to figure that
457. 22:14out I know absolutely and I know living
458. 22:16out here in the country you probably
459. 22:17have more than one or two we do we
460. 22:19probably have

479. 23:21I rode around looking at everything for

481. 23:2745 minutes to an hour
482. 23:30um Maggie had things she did in

484. 23:35um she had a doctor's appointment in
485. 23:38Charleston and she got back here it was
486. 23:42fairly late
487. 23:45was it dark yet when Paul got home no
488. 23:48Paul got home early early okay so before
489. 23:51dinner time
490. 23:52oh yes ma'am lunchtime no
491. 23:59what brother what um brother does Paul
492. 24:02work for John Marvin
493. 24:04and what does Paul do for him everything
494. 24:07just handyman yes sir

498. 24:22dogs this time of night or check on them
499. 24:25oh no I mean she played with those dogs

502. 24:31for her to you know she's been gone for

504. 24:37especially two of them out to run
505. 24:40okay so she pretty regularly comes out
506. 24:43here in the evenings

528. 25:46she told me the name of him and I can't
529. 25:49I want to say Gordon

531. 25:53is um who I think she saw

533. 26:01so was she back home around suppertime

536. 26:06six o'clock seven o'clock
537. 26:10I don't think she got back quite that

542. 26:27the office or no I was home I came home
543. 26:29Paul and I messed around uh
544. 26:32I uh I was up at the house I laid down
545. 26:36took a nap on the couch probably

547. 26:44called Maggie
548. 26:46didn't get an answer
549. 26:48and
550. 26:50I left to go to my mom's and she had
551. 26:53said she might ride with me but she
552. 26:55normally doesn't when I go over there
553. 26:59um
554. 27:00and
555. 27:03I texted her
556. 27:07and she's very good about answering the
557. 27:09phone so that was odd or calling me back
558. 27:11so that was odd but it wasn't that big a
559. 27:14deal
560. 27:16around what time was that

565. 27:41check on M be right back and then I
566. 27:43texted her at 9 47 that must be when I

627. 31:47so that they could go and tell Maggie's
628. 31:50parents I felt like they needed to hear
629. 31:53it in person and they're going there and
630. 31:56calling me
631. 31:58so they must not be there yet
632. 32:01Maggie's parents in Somerville yes and
633. 32:04she her mom just had a knee replacement
634. 32:06surgery and her dad really
635. 32:08has trouble getting around nowadays
636. 32:14you have any other children I do I have
637. 32:17a 24 year old that's right he said

645. 32:46saw Paul you said you tried to flip them
646. 32:48over was he laying on his back or on his
647. 32:52stomach just like he he just like you
648. 32:54were able to move him okay oh man okay
649. 33:01and did he help Maggie a lot out here
650. 33:03with the animals he helped everybody
651. 33:06with everything okay so it was kind of
652. 33:08routine for him to be out here as well
653. 33:11this place is his absolute passion okay
654. 33:28I tried to turn him and then I tried and
655. 33:31then I checked him and I I mean I
656. 33:35I think I already knew but I checked
657. 33:37them
658. 33:41and when you pulled first pulled into
659. 33:43the property did you come from this
660. 33:45direction where all our police cars are
661. 33:46or which way did you come in I went to
662. 33:48the house okay and then I came from the
663. 33:51house this way straight here yes ma'am
