5. 0:07Wednesday as a jury ordered right-wing
6. 0:09conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to pay
7. 0:11nearly 1 billion dollars in Damages to
8. 0:14families of the victims of the Sandy
9. 0:16Hook mass shooting for falsely claiming
10. 0:18they were actors who faked the tragedy
11. 0:23one by one the damages awarded to each
12. 0:26of the plaintiffs was read out loud the
13. 0:29emotional distress damages past the
14. 0:31future 60 million dollars not far from
15. 0:34where a gunman killed 20 children and
16. 0:36six staff members at Sandy Hook
17. 0:38Elementary School in December 2012.
18. 0:41Robbie Parker lost his daughter Emily
19. 0:43that day and on Wednesday he thanked his
20. 0:46lawyers for holding Jones accountable
21. 0:47our lawyers
22. 0:51help give me the strength to finally
23. 0:54find my voice and and to fight
24. 0:57and to stand up to what had been
25. 0:58happening to me for so long he also had
26. 1:00a message for followers of Alex Jones
27. 1:02who for years claimed that the massacre
28. 1:05was staged as part of a government plot
29. 1:07to take away Americans guns for anybody
30. 1:09that still chooses to listen to that man
31. 1:13just ask yourself what has he ever given
32. 1:14you
33. 1:15and compare that to whatever it is that
34. 1:17he's taken from you
35. 1:19the trial was marked by weeks of Anguish
36. 1:21testimony from the families who filled
37. 1:23the gallery each day and took turns
38. 1:25recounting how Jones lies about Sandy
39. 1:28Hook compounded their grief
40. 1:30his guilt was not in question as he had
41. 1:33already been found liable instead
42. 1:35lawyers for the families of eight Sandy
43. 1:37Hook victims argued over damages that
44. 1:39they deserved after Jones cashed in for
45. 1:42years on lies about the shooting which
46. 1:44drove traffic to his Infowars website
47. 1:46and boosted sales of its various
48. 1:48products
49. 1:54to get Alex Jones 10-year attack
50. 1:57on the family standing behind me
51. 2:01the attack that made him very rich
52. 2:05attack that exploited
53. 2:07fears
54. 2:09and resentments of his audience
55. 2:12the attack that targeted these families
56. 2:15Jones who has since acknowledged that
57. 2:17the shooting did occur briefly through
58. 2:19the trial into chaos when he took the
59. 2:21stand to Rally against his critics and
60. 2:24refuse to apologize to the families the
61. 2:26nearly 1 billion dollars in Damages far
62. 2:29outstrips the 49 million dollars Jones
63. 2:31was ordered to pay by a Texas jury in a
64. 2:34similar case in August Jones on
65. 2:36Wednesday vowed to appeal the
66. 2:38Connecticut ruling and set his company's
67. 2:40ongoing bankruptcy will protect Infowars
68. 2:42in the meantime
