AION 2 Arcana Guide: How to Build the Right Cards — Transcript

2. 0:02beginner guide series for AON 2, where
3. 0:04I'm going to explain to you every single
4. 0:07aspect of the game. Last time we talked
5. 0:09about how all the PvE and PvP content
6. 0:11works. Today we will finally start
7. 0:13talking about the progression systems,
8. 0:15beginning with the Arcana system. You
9. 0:18ready? Let's go.
10. 0:20All right, so to make it short, the Aana
11. 0:22system allows us to equip different
12. 0:24Arcana cards, and those cards will give
13. 0:26us a bunch of different so-called god
14. 0:29stats and level up our skills. Now, we
15. 0:32will talk about skills and god stats a
16. 0:34lot more in future videos. For now, it's
17. 0:36just important to understand that god
18. 0:38sets will give us a bunch of stats. And
19. 0:40leveling all of your skills is going to
20. 0:42be one of the main ways of progressing
21. 0:44your character. So the system will give
22. 0:46us a bunch of sets and on top of that
23. 0:49we'll level all of our skills. Okay. But
24. 0:51now let's understand how all of these
25. 0:53cards and sets are structured. First it
26. 0:55is important that we have different
27. 0:57types of cards and different slots for
28. 0:59those cards. So for example, here we
29. 1:01have a bell equipped. Here we have a
30. 1:02compass equipped. And here we have a
31. 1:04parchment equipped. So these are three
32. 1:06different types of cards and they all
33. 1:08have a separate slot. In season one we
34. 1:10will only have four types of cards. And
35. 1:12then over time we will get more and more
36. 1:15of those types. Now the different types
37. 1:18of cards can each have a different set
38. 1:20of abilities on them. So the bell can
39. 1:22have different skills on it than the
40. 1:24compass. Some cards will only have
41. 1:26active abilities, some will only have
42. 1:28passive abilities and some will just
43. 1:30have a mix of bows on it. Then besides
44. 1:32the types of cards, we also have
45. 1:35different sets. The two golden cards
46. 1:37here belong to the primal vigor set and
47. 1:39these two light blue cards belong to the
48. 1:42magic armor set. The different sets will
49. 1:44give you different set bonuses and on
50. 1:46top of that define what kind of god sets
51. 1:49are on those cards. To understand this a
52. 1:51little bit better, let's have a look at
53. 1:53all my bell cards. First of all, you can
54. 1:55see we have this golden bell and then we
55. 1:57have this blue bell. This is because of
56. 1:59the two different sets that we have.
57. 2:01Now, what's important here is that both
58. 2:03of these belts can have the same skills
59. 2:06on them. They [clears throat] only
60. 2:07differ in their god stats. So, for
61. 2:09example, the golden card will give us
62. 2:11justice stats and the blue card will
63. 2:13give us destruction stats, but both are
64. 2:15the same type. Both are belts. So, they
65. 2:18can have the same skills on them. But on
66. 2:21top of that, you can see that we have
67. 2:22different borders here on our cards. The
68. 2:25border defines the rarity of the card
69. 2:28and with that how many skills it starts
70. 2:30with. So a gray card always has one
71. 2:32skill on it. A green card always two
72. 2:35skills. A blue card always three skills.
73. 2:38And a golden card always four skills.
74. 2:40But the rarity only defines the starting
75. 2:43number of skills because now you can
76. 2:45also enhance your card and with that
77. 2:48increase the level. For this you simply
78. 2:49sacrifice any cards that you don't need
79. 2:52which will give you card experience. And
80. 2:54every time you increase the level of
81. 2:56your card, you will get one additional
82. 2:58level for one of your abilities on your
83. 3:00card. But here it is important to
84. 3:02understand that the maximum number of
85. 3:04skills on one card is four. Now on this
86. 3:07card, we already have four skills. That
87. 3:09means if we level up the card, now one
88. 3:12of those skills that we already have on
89. 3:14the card will get an additional level.
90. 3:16That's why one of the golds will be
91. 3:18farming those golden cards with the
92. 3:20right base skills. Because if all four
93. 3:22skills on your card are good, one of
94. 3:25those good skills will gain another
95. 3:27level every time you level up the cart.
96. 3:29Farming cards with the right base skill
97. 3:31is going to be super important. But of
98. 3:34course, doing this is not that easy. The
99. 3:36main way to farm your arcana cards is
100. 3:39through the transcendence dungeons.
101. 3:40Every time you open a cube at the end of
102. 3:42the dungeon, you will be rewarded with a
103. 3:45bunch of these arcana cards. Now, these
104. 3:47transcendence dungeons always have four
105. 3:49different stages. In the lower stages,
106. 3:52you will of course only get gray, green,
107. 3:54and blue cards. But then in stage four,
108. 3:56you will be able to get those golden
109. 3:58cards. So you will run these dungeons
110. 4:00over and over again and get a bunch of
111. 4:02those cards. Then of course, you will
112. 4:04look for Aana cards with the right base
113. 4:06skills that you can then actually level
114. 4:08up. But finding the perfect cards can
115. 4:11still be very hard. And that's why
116. 4:12there's a crafting system for these
117. 4:14cards. If we go back to our Arcana UI,
118. 4:17you can see transmute in the top right.
119. 4:20In this window on the left side, you can
120. 4:22see all the different sets that we have.
121. 4:24As mentioned in the beginning, we will
122. 4:25only have the primal vigor and the magic
123. 4:28armor sets in season 1. Then in the
124. 4:30center, you can select the different
125. 4:32card types. Now, if you click on the
126. 4:34plus here, you can always see what kind
127. 4:37of skills can appear on this card. So on
128. 4:40the bell, you can only have five
129. 4:42different skills. So obviously finding
130. 4:44the correct bell with the correct skills
131. 4:46is actually super easy because we just
132. 4:48have five different skills that can be
133. 4:50on the card. But if we go to the chalice
134. 4:52card for example, we can see that every
135. 4:55single active ability can be on this
136. 4:57cart. So finding the right card here is
137. 5:00going to be very very hard. And this is
138. 5:02where crafting comes in. We can select
139. 5:04what kind of abilities we want to have
140. 5:06on our cart. So let's say we need flame
141. 5:09arrow and hellfire. Now we have selected
142. 5:12those two skills, but a golden card
143. 5:14always has four skills on it, which
144. 5:17means we will get two additional random
145. 5:19skills. So yes, of course, crafting
146. 5:21helps, but it will not always give you
147. 5:24the perfect card. Now, to craft these
148. 5:26cards, you will need these mysterious
149. 5:28crystals. The main way to get those
150. 5:30crystals is by extracting cards you
151. 5:32don't need. Here, you basically
152. 5:34sacrifice any cards that you don't need.
153. 5:36This will fill up this bar and give you
154. 5:38a bunch of these crystals. and then you
155. 5:40can use those crystals to craft your
156. 5:42cards. But yeah, that's basically all
157. 5:44you need to know about the arcana
158. 5:46system. To make it short, you will run
159. 5:48transcendence dungeons over and over and
160. 5:51over again, which will give you a bunch
161. 5:52of these arcana cards. If you equip
162. 5:55those Aana cards, you will get a bunch
163. 5:57of stats and also a bunch of levels to
164. 5:59all of your active and passive
165. 6:00abilities. The cards that you don't need
166. 6:03can either be used to level up your
167. 6:04other cards or you can extract them to
168. 6:07get those mysterious crystals which will
169. 6:09then allow you to craft new cards.
