  1. 0:00you know after the crisis was revealed
  2. 0:01and we were working in the recovery mode
  3. 0:03we were starting to get more and more
  4. 0:05reports of water lead levels you know
  5. 0:08finally people more people were getting
  6. 0:09tested and you know led levels of you
  7. 0:11know thousands of parts per billion and
  8. 0:13there is no safe lead level at all and
  9. 0:16my saddest day came when the lead level
  10. 0:20of a home which is adjacent to the
  11. 0:23hospital it's a home for foster children
  12. 0:25and troubled children that's right next
  13. 0:28to the hospital and their lead and water
  14. 0:30level came back at 5,000 parts per
  15. 0:33billion so the the action level for a
  16. 0:36water system is 15 parts per billion
  17. 0:38that it should be zero but this home was
  18. 0:42over 5,000 parts per billion and these
  19. 0:44were the kids who've already had every
  20. 0:46adversity in life they were victims of
  21. 0:48maybe child abuse or neglect or they've
  22. 0:50been you know you know traumatized
  23. 0:52they've already there they had no family
  24. 0:55you know these kids already suffered
  25. 0:57every single trauma in life and their
  26. 1:01lead and water level was 5,000 parts per
  27. 1:05billion it was like the world was
  28. 1:06conspiring against them and I think that
  29. 1:09was my lowest moment in this whole
  30. 1:10crisis how you know how do we how do we
  31. 1:14care for our most vulnerable children
  32. 1:15what is this what's this tell us as a
  33. 1:17society
