Full transcript
- 0:00What's up guys? My name's Skull and
- 0:03today I'll be doing a quick advanced
- 0:05guide on feral druid for mythic plus.
- 0:08Let's get right into it.
- 0:10This guide is going to be covering
- 0:11talents, cooldowns, priorities, builders
- 0:15and finishers, what buffs and procs to
- 0:18track, how to correctly use defensives
- 0:20and utility, and just some macros that I
- 0:23use that help out.
- 0:24The first thing I'm going to be going
- 0:25over in this guide is going to be
- 0:27talents.
- 0:28Now there's not really a best talent
- 0:29build. It's more It's more so like which
- 0:32talents feel better for you because
- 0:35there's not really a DPS difference
- 0:37between most of them.
- 0:39Um so these first two talents that I'm
- 0:41going to be going over is going to be
- 0:42the choice between tireless energy and
- 0:45double clawed rake. Like I mentioned
- 0:47before, there's not really much of a DPS
- 0:49difference between the two. Um but if
- 0:52you're noticing that you're kind of bad
- 0:54at managing energy or you're always
- 0:56feeling energy starved, I'd highly
- 0:58recommend trying out tireless energy if
- 1:01you haven't.
- 1:02And if you prefer to press rake and
- 1:04spread rake, like priority rake over
- 1:06pressing swipe, I would definitely run
- 1:09double clawed rake cuz that just makes
- 1:10your life 10 times easier.
- 1:12The next talents we're going over are
- 1:14going to be sudden ambush, savage fury,
- 1:16wild slashes, panther's gaze, blood
- 1:18spattered, and infected wounds.
- 1:21You can only choose three of these and
- 1:23I'll explain which ones I recommend
- 1:25shortly.
- 1:27Now once again, I want to clarify you
- 1:29can run any combination of these three,
- 1:32but if you're doing keys,
- 1:35mythic plus keystones, I rec I do
- 1:37recommend running savage fury and sudden
- 1:40ambush cuz I think these are the best
- 1:42two out of the six.
- 1:44Now out of the last four in this
- 1:46section, the one I do not recommend
- 1:48running is blood spattered. Um I think
- 1:50it's pretty bait
- 1:51and I thought it was good at the
- 1:52beginning of the expansion, played some
- 1:55with it, and it's kind of just a waste
- 1:56of a talent to be honest. Like, do not
- 1:58put your talent point into that. Now,
- 2:00finally, it is
- 2:02between Wild Slashes, Panther's Guile,
- 2:04or Infected Wounds for the last talent
- 2:06point. And, uh
- 2:08personally, I've never ran Panther's
- 2:09Guile before in keys. Um if you're
- 2:12struggling in single target, maybe
- 2:13that'd be a viable option for you since
- 2:15it's a very good raid talent.
- 2:17Um Wild Slashes is just more swipe
- 2:18damage. Infected Wounds is more rake
- 2:20damage overall. So, if you're if you
- 2:22know, if if you spam swipe,
- 2:24um and you don't spread rake at all,
- 2:26really, Wild Slashes is probably a good
- 2:28good pick for you. Um if you're
- 2:30spreading rake a lot more,
- 2:32I would definitely try Infected Wounds.
- 2:34And, Infected Wounds also helps out with
- 2:36uh single target, too. So, you don't
- 2:38have to run Panther's Guile just for
- 2:39single target. Like, Infected Wounds is
- 2:41is a big part of that, too.
- 2:43Now, once we get to the bottom part of
- 2:45the tree, this is where we have to
- 2:46choose between Carnivorous Instinct,
- 2:48Ashmane's Guidance, Hunger for Battle,
- 2:50and then you have to choose between
- 2:52either Rip and Tear or Vein Ripper,
- 2:54which are on the same talent node over
- 2:56there on the right. Before we get into
- 2:57which ones I would pick, um you can only
- 3:00choose two out of four of these, and I'm
- 3:02going to go right into the Vein Ripper
- 3:04versus Rip and Tear. So, between these
- 3:07two, I prefer Vein Ripper, and I think
- 3:10it's not even a pre- This is like one of
- 3:11the talents where it's like
- 3:13it's a preference, but if you're not
- 3:15using one over the other, then I mean
- 3:17it's a
- 3:19I don't know. I just think Vein Ripper's
- 3:21better in every single scenario.
- 3:23Um and my reasoning for that is because
- 3:27the longer your rip is up,
- 3:29the more bites you're going to get off
- 3:30before you have to refresh your bleeds.
- 3:33Um
- 3:34more bites equals more unseen procs,
- 3:37more
- 3:38every like, you know, just more damage
- 3:40in general. Um
- 3:42Now, Rip and Tear
- 3:43is viable. You can use that if you want
- 3:46um in keys like Algeth'ar where there's
- 3:47huge pulls, but even then, I feel like
- 3:50getting more bites in on big pulls
- 3:52rather than having to refresh so often
- 3:55is I don't know. It's just not worth it
- 3:57sometimes in my opinion.
- 3:59But you can play either or. I just
- 4:01recommend Vein Ripper.
- 4:02All right. Now putting Rip and Tear and
- 4:04Vein Ripper aside, we have Carnivorous
- 4:07Instinct, Ashmane's Guidance, and Hunger
- 4:10for Battle.
- 4:12And to be honest,
- 4:14um
- 4:15I recommend talenting out of Ashmane's
- 4:17Guidance if you're noticing that your
- 4:19Convoke is
- 4:20frequently desyncing from your berserk.
- 4:23Um
- 4:25Now if you want to run Ashmane's
- 4:26Guidance, you can. I just don't prefer
- 4:29it in higher keys cuz I notice it
- 4:30desyncs more.
- 4:31Um Ashmane's Guidance actually causes us
- 4:34to have like proc more Feral Frenzies or
- 4:36Frenetic Frenzies throughout the
- 4:37dungeon. So if you enjoy that,
- 4:39you do that. That's a totally personal
- 4:42preference. I just prefer to not have my
- 4:45my uh cooldowns desync like that.
- 4:47And last but not least, um we have
- 4:51Carnivorous Instinct and Hunger for
- 4:53Battle left. Now Hunger for Battle is
- 4:54better for those like really big AoE
- 4:56dungeons.
- 4:57Um let's say like like Pit of Saron, um
- 5:00Magister's Terrace. I mean you can run
- 5:01it in in every key if you'd like. Like I
- 5:04run it in most keys. The only key I do
- 5:05not run it in is Skyreach because
- 5:07Skyreach does not have a lot of big
- 5:09pulls.
- 5:10Um so that's when I would put talent
- 5:12point in either AG or Carnivorous
- 5:15Instinct in this scenario. When it comes
- 5:17to my personal preference, I put it in
- 5:20Carnivorous Instinct.
- 5:21Could be different for you. Could be
- 5:23different for everybody. It It's really
- 5:24not that much of a difference. It sh-
- 5:26It's just based on how it feels, you
- 5:27know?
- 5:28This last portion of the talent section
- 5:30is going to be between our two options
- 5:32we have for our hero talents. We have
- 5:35Tear Down the Mighty or Strike for the
- 5:37Heart.
- 5:38Strike for the Heart is better in every
- 5:40case except if you're running Ashmane's
- 5:42Guidance.
- 5:43Then Tear Down the Mighty becomes the
- 5:45better option.
- 5:47Um
- 5:48I personally, there's not much of a big
- 5:50difference. I personally run Tear Down
- 5:52the Mighty in keys. Um we do really big
- 5:54pulls in our in our push keys, so
- 5:57in my opinion, I think it's more worth
- 5:59to have that extra Frenetic Frenzy
- 6:01damage.
- 6:02But, as I said before,
- 6:05you can run either or, and you won't get
- 6:07like penalized too much. Um
- 6:09But, yeah, that's the talent part. Um
- 6:11I'm going to get into the next section
- 6:13right now.
- 6:14In this next section, I'm going to be
- 6:15going over the cooldowns, builders, and
- 6:17finishers of Feral Druid, and kind of
- 6:20how to min-max everything. You know,
- 6:22when to not press certain buttons when
- 6:24you have certain procs. Um
- 6:26What your priorities are, we'll go over
- 6:27that in a little bit. Starting us off in
- 6:29this section though, we have our
- 6:31cooldowns.
- 6:32We have Berserk, Tiger's Fury, Frenetic
- 6:35Frenzy, and Convoke.
- 6:38Now, before I go over each cooldown
- 6:39individually, I want to go over the
- 6:41biggest mistake that most Ferals make
- 6:44with cooldowns, and that is holding
- 6:46them.
- 6:47You should be sending Berserk, Tiger's
- 6:48Fury, and Convoke all on cooldown,
- 6:51ideally synced with each other.
- 6:53Um unless a the boss is at like
- 6:5615%, you know, like you're going to
- 6:58you're basically going to waste a
- 6:59cooldown. Then I wouldn't press, but
- 7:01ideally you just press everything on
- 7:03cooldown.
- 7:04Now, if you'll notice in this clip, my
- 7:06Tiger's Fury was a little desynced from
- 7:08my other cooldowns because of like
- 7:10walking around around, you know,
- 7:11gathering the pack. So, I held my
- 7:13Tiger's Fury just to sync it up
- 7:15perfectly with my Berserk and Convoke.
- 7:18And now, when I send my next cooldown,
- 7:21all of all three of them are going to
- 7:23be,
- 7:24you know, synced. Um this is one of
- 7:26those scenarios where
- 7:27you're thinking, "Oh, shoot. Do I press
- 7:29my cooldowns here?"
- 7:31In this scenario, absolutely. Um
- 7:34I I never really
- 7:36hold my cooldowns unless it's like
- 7:38the pack's at like 20%, but here, I get
- 7:41full use of my cooldowns, my tank's in
- 7:43trouble, I really want to kill this
- 7:44tyrant before the next cast goes off.
- 7:47Um
- 7:48and I'm only going to get like three
- 7:50more sins in the key anyway, maybe four.
- 7:52So, holding here would have been a big
- 7:54mistake. See, I already have
- 7:57what, 10 seconds left on Tiger's Fury.
- 8:00But, the more you play and the more you
- 8:02get reps in, the um easier it gets to
- 8:05know when to send or not. Um
- 8:08it just all about reps and playing more.
- 8:10Um and there's a lot of factors that
- 8:12come down to when you're pressing and
- 8:13when you're holding.
- 8:15Um like there's certain bosses and
- 8:16dungeons where the boss will be like 20%
- 8:19there's a big pull with lust coming up.
- 8:20My team's like, "Okay, we're going to
- 8:22send our cooldowns because we're like a
- 8:23minute and my warrior has CDR and they
- 8:26they let me save my cooldowns
- 8:28for the big pull with lust because it
- 8:31just wouldn't be worth me not having
- 8:33cooldowns for that pull is like pretty
- 8:35bad.
- 8:36Now, getting into each individual
- 8:38cooldown, I'm just going to go over them
- 8:40like pretty quickly.
- 8:42Uh first off, we have Berserk. Um you'd
- 8:45think this would be our biggest
- 8:46cooldown,
- 8:47but it really isn't. Our our most
- 8:48important cooldown is Tiger's Fury. Um
- 8:52it gives us the same amount of damage as
- 8:54Berserk
- 8:55for the same amount of time.
- 8:57It's on a 30-second CD instead of a
- 8:582-minute CD and it's now the only way we
- 9:01can snapshot our bleeds, so it's it's
- 9:02pretty important. Um
- 9:05you know, it I don't understand either
- 9:06how they make Berserk so bad.
- 9:10Um Berserk's not bad. Like it like it
- 9:12passively generates combo points for us.
- 9:14Like our builders get extra combo
- 9:15points.
- 9:16Um but but it still just does the same
- 9:18thing as Tiger's Fury outside of that,
- 9:20but on a what, four times longer
- 9:22cooldown? Like, come on.
- 9:24Next up, we have Frantic Frenzy, which I
- 9:26haven't gone over much, but it's our
- 9:29biggest AoE ability.
- 9:31You want to press it at like two or less
- 9:33combo points. You want to press it ASAP.
- 9:35As soon as you press cooldowns, you want
- 9:37to get your frantic frenzy out as soon
- 9:39as possible.
- 9:40It does
- 9:42tons of damage. So, you want to wait
- 9:44until the pack is fully gathered before
- 9:46sending this.
- 9:47And this is one of the cooldowns, like I
- 9:48said,
- 9:49like all of the other ones, you press
- 9:51this on cooldown. Do not hold this for
- 9:53Tiger's Fury. If it lines up, it lines
- 9:56up, cool.
- 9:57But,
- 9:58do not hold.
- 9:59Last but not least, we have Convoke. I
- 10:01personally think Convoke is a pretty
- 10:04good cooldown. It's kind of annoying to
- 10:05use because it locks you for 4 seconds
- 10:07and if you use any defenses or anything,
- 10:09um any press anything during those 4
- 10:11seconds, it cancels it, but
- 10:14you you always want to make sure you
- 10:16press Convoke during your Tiger's Fury
- 10:18windows, um and Berserk, obviously, if
- 10:21you like you want to line those up.
- 10:23You don't want to cast Convoke if your
- 10:24Rip is going to fall off during your
- 10:25Convoke. Or, let's say you're at max
- 10:28combo points
- 10:29and you don't have a Bite proc or
- 10:30anything, you Bite to dump those combo
- 10:32points and then you press Convoke
- 10:34because it can build up combo points for
- 10:36you.
- 10:36Um
- 10:37unless your Tiger's Fury and Berserk are
- 10:40going to fall off before you dump, then
- 10:42press. It's also acceptable to send
- 10:44Convoke at full combo points in big
- 10:45pulls like Hall of the Guardian, where
- 10:47you're not going to stop getting Bite
- 10:48procs. Just make sure your Rip isn't
- 10:50going to fall off before that.
- 10:52Now that we've covered the cooldown
- 10:53portion of this um section,
- 10:56I'm going to go into the builders and
- 10:58finishers of Feral Druid.
- 11:00Starting off with our builders, we have
- 11:02Rake. Now, Rake, you're always going to
- 11:04want to open up with at the start of
- 11:06packs, if you can, with stealth. Cuz if
- 11:09you see here, while stealth, Rake will
- 11:11stun the target for 4 seconds and deal
- 11:1360% increased damage. This means that
- 11:16for the entirety of your Rake bleed,
- 11:18it's going to be doing 60% increased
- 11:19damage and that is
- 11:21the only other way you can snapshot
- 11:23besides Tiger's Fury.
- 11:25Now, you're going to be keeping this up
- 11:26on prior mobs, on bosses. Never let this
- 11:28drop. Um you can spread them in certain
- 11:30packs in dungeons, but you don't have to
- 11:32spread it to every single mob depending
- 11:34on how big the pack is.
- 11:36Now, going into our next builder, we
- 11:37have Shred.
- 11:38This is another builder you're going to
- 11:40be pressing only in single target, only
- 11:41one target. You'll be pressing this
- 11:43button a lot unless you need to refresh
- 11:45rake. Now, really quickly, we talked
- 11:47about Sudden Ambush earlier, and in
- 11:49single target, you're only going to be
- 11:51using this on Shred, not rake cuz it
- 11:53only affects the initial hit on the
- 11:54ability and not the bleed. So, you using
- 11:57it on rake is kind of a waste. Next up,
- 12:00Swipe. This is our main AoE builder. You
- 12:03press this very often with clearcasting
- 12:05procs and in AoE with Sudden Ambush.
- 12:08Um
- 12:09you press this at two or more targets.
- 12:12For our last builder, we have Frenetic
- 12:14Frenzy.
- 12:15This is our biggest AoE builder, if you
- 12:16would consider it a builder. Um ideally,
- 12:18you'd want to press this at two or less
- 12:20combo points.
- 12:21Um you want to make sure everything is
- 12:22gathered and in front of you before
- 12:23pressing to maximize damage cuz it it
- 12:25can be a little weird sometimes with the
- 12:27the positioning.
- 12:29The next part of this guide I'm going to
- 12:30be going over is finishers. We're going
- 12:31to start off simple with Rip. Rip is our
- 12:33most important bleed {slash} finisher.
- 12:36You only want to send Rip in pure single
- 12:37target, so one mob. You want to refresh
- 12:40Rip in Pandemic and to not worry about
- 12:42snapshotting. And the Pandemic range for
- 12:44base Rip would be about 5 to 6.5
- 12:46seconds.
- 12:48If you're wondering what Pandemic is,
- 12:49I'll explain that later in the video
- 12:51when I talk about priorities.
- 12:53The next finisher we're going to talk
- 12:54about is going to be Primal Wrath, which
- 12:55is our AoE Rip. You're going to apply
- 12:58Rip to all targets within 10 yd of
- 12:59pressing Primal Wrath. The Pandemic
- 13:01range for Primal Wrath is 3 seconds, and
- 13:04same thing goes with Rip and Primal
- 13:07Wrath, you do not worry about
- 13:08snapshotting. Just refresh in Pandemic,
- 13:10don't think about it.
- 13:12In the next section of this video, we're
- 13:13going to be going over priorities.
- 13:15Now, the highest priority for all of
- 13:17Feral is just keeping your bleeds up as
- 13:19much as possible in every aspect.
- 13:21Raiding, keys, etc. This is more of a
- 13:23key guide, but this includes Rip, Rake,
- 13:26and for raid, moonfire when it becomes
- 13:28an option. In keys, we really do not
- 13:31worry about keeping bleed snapshotted
- 13:33like you do in raid cuz it's not that
- 13:35big of a deal. Now, the second highest
- 13:37priority for feral druid in my opinion
- 13:39is never sending a finisher with less
- 13:40than five combo points and to never send
- 13:43a bite or a ravage with less than 50
- 13:45energy.
- 13:46Ferocious bite got changed in 10.0.5, so
- 13:49now sending a bite or a ravage at less
- 13:51than five combo points and less than 50
- 13:53energy is a damage loss.
- 13:55You have to get used to refreshing your
- 13:56bleeds correctly in pandemic range for
- 13:58full uptime and maximum bites during
- 13:59those bleed windows.
- 14:01Now, really quickly I'm going to go be
- 14:02going over pandemic range. I've brought
- 14:05it up a lot this video and some of you
- 14:06might be curious. Pandemic range is when
- 14:08you refresh an old dot before it expires
- 14:10without losing those last few seconds,
- 14:12adding them onto the new dot
- 14:13application. For example, if rake has a
- 14:16base duration of 15 seconds and you
- 14:18refresh your rake with three seconds
- 14:20left, the new rake will have 18 seconds.
- 14:23It's really just for maximizing the last
- 14:25few seconds on our bleeds.
- 14:27The next thing I'm going to go over in
- 14:28the priority list is not losing out on
- 14:31bite procs,
- 14:32which comes from our talent Apex
- 14:34Predator's Craving.
- 14:36Anytime you get a bite proc, you want to
- 14:37be sending it ASAP without messing up
- 14:39any of the other priorities, such as not
- 14:41letting your bleeds fall or refreshing
- 14:43them in pandemic range, etc. My next
- 14:45priority is going to be the thing we
- 14:46talked about earlier, which is going to
- 14:47be don't overthink sending your
- 14:49cooldowns.
- 14:50Desyncing your cooldowns is the most
- 14:51common way ferals lose damage. Now, my
- 14:54last min-max CD priority is going to be
- 14:57what I talked about earlier, which is
- 14:58never sending your sudden ambush procs
- 15:00on rake.
- 15:01I talked about how they changed sudden
- 15:03ambush since the launch of this
- 15:04expansion. It no longer snapshots the
- 15:06bleed of rake. It only does the damage
- 15:08for the initial hit. So, therefore, only
- 15:10send sudden ambush on shred and swipe.
- 15:13Now that we're done with priorities, I
- 15:15can move on to buffs and things as a
- 15:17feral druid you need to keep track of.
- 15:20Starting us off, we went over this
- 15:21earlier, it's Apex Predator's Craving.
- 15:24These are just maximum damage bite
- 15:27procs, so they're just free bites to do
- 15:29the maximum amount of damage, so it'd be
- 15:30like if you're biting at five combo
- 15:31points, 50 energy. The next thing I
- 15:33think is important to keep track of is
- 15:35going to be Omen of Clarity, which is
- 15:36our clear casting.
- 15:38It can accumulate up two times.
- 15:41Um, it causes our builders to deal 15%
- 15:43extra damage and cost no energy. This
- 15:46talent really helps us in those moments
- 15:47where we're very energy starved. I try
- 15:50to use these Omen of Clarity procs as
- 15:52soon as possible because you don't want
- 15:54to overlap and just lose out on a bunch
- 15:56of them. Just the same thing as Apex
- 15:57Predator.
- 15:58Now, the last thing that you need to
- 16:00keep, like abs, like keep track of for
- 16:02sure, like most important in my opinion,
- 16:05is Ravage. The reason this is, in my
- 16:07opinion, the most important thing to
- 16:09keep track of is because it's literally
- 16:11just an empowered bite. It procs off of
- 16:13our autos and our builders in berserk.
- 16:15Hits all enemies in front of us in a
- 16:17frontal cone. It does more damage than
- 16:19our normal bite, applies a bleed that
- 16:21does extra damage on top of that, and
- 16:23any enemy that has that bleed deals 4%
- 16:25less damage to us.
- 16:27Also, everything that applies to bite
- 16:29also applies to Ravage. I was going to
- 16:30make a defenses and utility part of the
- 16:32guide, um, but I don't think that's
- 16:34really necessary as there's a lot of
- 16:35different scenarios where you would and
- 16:37wouldn't press defensives, so I think
- 16:38that's more so on you guys to get those
- 16:40reps in. Um, feral's pretty tanky and it
- 16:42has a ton of helpful utility. Uh, like,
- 16:45honestly, I think it's pretty underrated
- 16:46for Mythic Plus. I enjoy playing it.
- 16:48Obviously, it's viable cuz I mean, I'm
- 16:50one key off of 22 result, got some tour,
- 16:53like, got a 23 time the other day.
- 16:55Um,
- 16:56you know, just need those reps. But
- 16:58anyways, I'm going to leave the macros
- 17:00that I use down in the description
- 17:01below, and that's going to be the end of
- 17:02this video for me. If you guys have any
- 17:04suggestions for me or whatnot, just let
- 17:06me know in the comments below. Uh, this
- 17:07is my first time actually like editing
- 17:09editing a video, and uh,
- 17:11you know, I it took me a while. Had some
- 17:13things going on.
- 17:14I've been sick for the last two weeks
- 17:16now. Um,
- 17:18but finally got it done. So, I just
- 17:19wanted to
- 17:20thank you for watching and I hope you
- 17:21enjoyed this advanced Pharaoh guide.
- 17:23Peace.
