3. 0:04reduction in sentence after the
4. 0:06Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office
5. 0:08withdrew its motion to vacate his 1999
6. 0:12conviction just hours before today's
7. 0:14hearing W2 news is Blair Sable was
8. 0:17inside the courtroom what was the mood
9. 0:19like out there tonight
10. 0:23Blair Kelly it was certainly an
11. 0:25emotional day in court today we heard
12. 0:27and saw a lot of Tears a lot of sadness
13. 0:30but also at some points even laughter
14. 0:32but that all stopped when the family of
15. 0:34hmon Lee and Anan Zed himself had their
16. 0:37voices heard Anan SED arm- in-arm with
17. 0:40his attorney entered this courthouse
18. 0:41today hopeful to have him be a free man
19. 0:44for the rest of his life the defense
20. 0:46they called six Witnesses from
21. 0:48psychologists to friends from in the
22. 0:50prison and colleagues of sah they
23. 0:52described him not only as a model inmate
24. 0:55but also as an extraordinary person his
25. 0:57brother saying quote if there's anything
26. 0:59good see in me as a human being it's
27. 1:01because of his influence now this comes
28. 1:04as the Baltimore City State's Attorney
29. 1:05has walked back its motion to vacate
30. 1:07sayed's murder conviction just last
31. 1:09night citing false and misleading
32. 1:12statements but important to note they
33. 1:13still support a sentence
34. 1:16reduction we wanted to do it before the
35. 1:18court hearing so that everybody knew
36. 1:20where we were it was one of the things I
37. 1:22think Mr sford strongly wanted to have
38. 1:24happen his filings he wanted to know
39. 1:26what was going to be the state stance we
40. 1:28did everything we could to get it to so
41. 1:30that the world would know before we
42. 1:31start that court date the state agrees
43. 1:35that ad naan is worthy of a sentence
44. 1:36reduction the sentencing the original
45. 1:39sentencing judge agrees that a nan is
46. 1:41worthy of the sentence
47. 1:43reduction and we are hopeful that this
48. 1:45court will as

50. 1:52innocence but the Lee family attorney
51. 1:54David Sanford says this actually works

55. 2:01he felt betrayed by prosecutors and his
56. 2:03mother appeared by video saying seeing
57. 2:05say smile in court the first time
58. 2:07continue to haunt her nightmares and of
59. 2:10course anad Sayed he got his opportunity
60. 2:12to address the court today and he said
61. 2:14that he's been avoiding media he's been
62. 2:16avoiding being a public figure since he
63. 2:19was released from prison in September of
64. 2:212022 as to not cause any more harm to
65. 2:24that family now the judge did not issue
66. 2:26a ruling on this hearing today it's
67. 2:28unclear when will be hearing how she
68. 2:31rules in this case Kelly so Blair what
69. 2:33does all this be now this is a case that
70. 2:35we've been following for years will he
71. 2:37have to return to prison at this
72. 2:41point no Kelly he will not be uh sent
73. 2:45back to prison depending on what happens
74. 2:47after this hearing how the judge rules
75. 2:49if she grants a sentence reduction that
76. 2:51essentially means he is granted time
77. 2:53served and he will remain a free man now
78. 2:55if she does not that means that he will
79. 2:57have to return to prison and serve out
80. 2:59the rest of his life sentence all right
