- 0:13There's probably three different ways in which,
- 0:15it can be used for, for a university audience,
- 0:19whether it's an undergraduate or even a
- 0:23master's level program.
- 0:26It actually brings to life the lessons in the classroom.
- 0:31You can spend a lot of time in the classroom talking about how
- 0:35HR support strategy and how people strategy is in service
- 0:39of business strategy.
- 0:41But until they actually do it and they see it and they
- 0:44experience it, the lesson doesn't become ingrained.
- 0:48It's just something they memorize.
- 0:50But I find that then particularly the master's
- 0:54level students, if you don't really go through the game,
- 0:57they will continue to default to their natural default,
- 1:00which is, we're here to fill vacancies or we're here to
- 1:05improve engagement or we're here to reduce turnover and not really
- 1:10here to improve productivity or improve, the value
- 1:14of the business.
- 1:15So by complementing the theoretical lessons with
- 1:20the practical application,
- 1:23it comes to life a lot more.
- 1:24The second way to do it is with an executive HR audience,
- 1:29a corporate HR audience.
- 1:31What it does in that case is different areas of the HR
- 1:36world say training and recruiting and compensation
- 1:40because they have to play a role in the game.
- 1:44They can understand better how they all interrelate to produce
- 1:49a better result.
- 1:51And that's a big, valuable lesson because often
- 1:54HR departments, each area works in a different silo
- 1:59and even though they interconnect, they don't
- 2:01necessarily know how to interact,
- 2:08in the best way to support the business.
- 2:11The third way that we have used it is with a non HR audience.
- 2:15Mid-level managers, for example, because it allows
- 2:22them to understand that in order for the business
- 2:24to improve, they not only have to manage the business side,
- 2:28but they also need to manage their people.
- 2:31So it's interesting that we use it for HR audiences, but we can
- 2:36also use it, and we do for non HR audiences to help them
- 2:41understand what is their role in managing the
- 2:44people that are under them.
- 2:46So three ways in which we use it students, HR audiences and
- 2:50non HR audiences.
- 2:52Each benefits in a different way, which is the
- 2:54beauty again of HCC, that it allows enough complexity that
- 2:59we can cater to different audiences.
- 3:02with the same simulation.
