  2. 0:06so in this session we're gonna answer a
  3. 0:09couple of questions that you tribe
  4. 0:11members tossed at us earlier right these
  5. 0:13were cashton's questions that came up on
  6. 0:14Twitter and this was also the original
  7. 0:16intent for this 50-minute session this
  8. 0:1950-minute session is designed to help
  9. 0:21remove inertia often we have a vision
  10. 0:24there's inertia and the inertia could be
  11. 0:27that we have a mindset problem maybe we
  12. 0:31we its perseverance maybe it's lack of
  13. 0:34motivation maybe we have difficulty
  14. 0:36keeping up to habits I know I have that
  15. 0:38problem as well sometimes depending on
  16. 0:40the goals I'm going for mm-hmm Ronen who
  17. 0:42was here in the audience asked a couple
  18. 0:43of important questions which I know you
  19. 0:46guys want to answer such as if we're
  20. 0:47looking at 12 things what happens to the
  21. 0:49concept of singular focus right or how
  22. 0:52do we execute flawlessly day in and day
  23. 0:54out even during those days when we feel
  24. 0:56dark a negative or just lazy so this is
  25. 1:00what we're gonna be addressing in this
  26. 1:01conversation and the same Twitter rules
  27. 1:03apply if you go to app vision on Twitter
  28. 1:06you can reply to that message with your
  29. 1:08questions for join and Missy Butch and
  30. 1:09you can also see what other questions
  31. 1:10people are asking all right here we go
  32. 1:13so what we're gonna frame this up is in
  33. 1:17our second level class or mastery class
  34. 1:20we've got five modules all designed to
  35. 1:23help you execute on your life vision I'm
  36. 1:25going to take you through these concepts
  37. 1:27as quickly as I can I'm hoping to keep
  38. 1:29it to 20 maybe 25 minutes so we can have
  39. 1:32times for questions afterwards but if
  40. 1:34you just write down these five things
  41. 1:36you can go home and I mean we spend a
  42. 1:39year in life book master we spend a year
  43. 1:42working on these things and and
  44. 1:44executing an accountability program so
  45. 1:47where this starts is it starts with your
  46. 1:50life vision after you go through life
  47. 1:52book you've dialed in your life vision
  48. 1:54across twelve categories then you roll
  49. 1:57it off up into one big life vision
  50. 1:59that's where this next program starts so
  51. 2:02we're sort of assuming that you've got
  52. 2:05your life vision relatively dialed in I
  53. 2:07know that some of you are still working
  54. 2:08on it
  55. 2:09take these notes anyway I think this is
  56. 2:11really gonna help
  57. 2:12so I think what I'll do first we do you
  58. 2:15have to help me with this here you think
  59. 2:16I should just here here's what I'll do
  60. 2:18I'm gonna I'm gonna give you this list
  61. 2:21and then we're gonna go back around and
  62. 2:23we're gonna just dive in a little bit to
  63. 2:25each one of these items the first thing
  64. 2:27that we do out of life book is we do an
  65. 2:30exercise called right-sizing your life
  66. 2:33vision right-sizing your life vision
  67. 2:36getting it ready to build because we
  68. 2:39want to make sure that you've set the
  69. 2:41bar in exactly the right place for you
  70. 2:44this is super important and there are
  71. 2:47four questions that you can ask yourself
  72. 2:49that if you answer yes to each of these
  73. 2:51four questions you can know with a
  74. 2:53pretty high degree of certainty that
  75. 2:55you've set the bar in the right place
  76. 2:56you set the bar too low you're not going
  77. 2:59to feel fulfilled even if you achieve it
  78. 3:01you set the bar too high you're not
  79. 3:04going to achieve it so that's where
  80. 3:05we'll dive into that a little bit we
  81. 3:07want to make sure that look the reason
  82. 3:10that we do this why do we bother to
  83. 3:13visualize what our future could be like
  84. 3:15why do we do that
  85. 3:16we're the only animal that can do that
  86. 3:17or our brains are the only brains on the
  87. 3:19planet that can think about later and
  88. 3:21that high quality away and why do we do
  89. 3:25that we do it so that we can make it
  90. 3:27happen
  91. 3:28this isn't mental masturbation we need
  92. 3:30we want to make this go and so that's
  93. 3:33what we really focus in making sure that
  94. 3:35you've got that bar set at exactly the
  95. 3:37right place the second thing we take a
  96. 3:39look at is aligning your goals with your
  97. 3:42life vision super super important and
  98. 3:45we've got a nice little process for that
  99. 3:46the third thing we do which may be one
  100. 3:50of the most powerful things that we've
  101. 3:51ever discovered and applied to our lives
  102. 3:54is we spend some time taking a look at
  103. 3:56your daily habits and making sure that
  104. 3:59your habits are aligned with your goals
  105. 4:01and your life ition the fourth module is
  106. 4:06called stepping into your life issue and
  107. 4:10that one is literally about kind of your
  108. 4:14habits in action their daily and it goes
  109. 4:18even one level deeper which are your
  110. 4:20small choices and actions that aren't
  111. 4:22even like you're clearly defined habits
  112. 4:23this is about becoming exact
  113. 4:25that you had this beautiful term that
  114. 4:28you came up with miss this is about
  115. 4:30becoming the expression of your life
  116. 4:32vision at your core and that's where it
  117. 4:35happens guys that's where that's where
  118. 4:36this thing takes off and John just one
  119. 4:38second for those of you who are
  120. 4:40listening please don't see this as John
  121. 4:43is talking about his program right
  122. 4:45that's not the point John is talking
  123. 4:46about his approach so see this as an
  124. 4:49approach so I know you're using the word
  125. 4:50module but really you're really right
  126. 4:51explaining in a proper word from you
  127. 4:53want to write this down because you can
  128. 4:54reflect upon this approach this is a
  129. 4:56$25,000 program we're trying to give you
  130. 4:58in 25 minutes so it's and you can go
  131. 5:00home and really apply this stuff and
  132. 5:02crush it like we've seen so many people
  133. 5:05we do the system work okay so thank you
  134. 5:09for saying that mission and then and the
  135. 5:11last one is simple what you want to do
  136. 5:13on your way to moving toward from where
  137. 5:16you are now to that ultimate ideal life
  138. 5:18vision you've created is you want to
  139. 5:20make sure you're paying attention to
  140. 5:22your results you want to track and
  141. 5:24measure your progress so you can adjust
  142. 5:26if necessary because one thing we know
  143. 5:28is that no plan survives first contact
  144. 5:31with the enemy any plan no matter how
  145. 5:34well crafted is gonna fall apart as soon
  146. 5:38as you get into the real world and your
  147. 5:39ability to adjust is the key so those
  148. 5:43are the five things that we're gonna
  149. 5:44cover very briefly and and we'll go
  150. 5:47ahead and start at the top yeah you're
  151. 5:49ready right okay so it's gonna start
  152. 5:52with right sizing your life vision if
  153. 5:55you can answer these four questions with
  154. 5:57a yes after careful consideration you
  155. 6:01can know with certainty that you've set
  156. 6:02the bar in relatively the right place
  157. 6:04the first question is when I look at my
  158. 6:07life vision am i asking enough of myself
  159. 6:10or am i playing small there's a big
  160. 6:14payoff for playing small because no one
  161. 6:18likes to fail right what if we fail and
  162. 6:20so I mean a lot of people set the bar
  163. 6:23lower than they should and and that
  164. 6:25guarantees that they'll never brush up
  165. 6:27against their true potential so you
  166. 6:29really want to ask yourself have I set
  167. 6:32the bar high enough am i asking enough
  168. 6:36of myself that's that question the
  169. 6:39now here's my guess my guess that is
  170. 6:41that most of you in this room probably
  171. 6:43won't have problems there here's the
  172. 6:46question that we run into problems with
  173. 6:48personal development people is this
  174. 6:52vision achievable or am I asking too
  175. 6:54much of myself
  176. 6:56here's the truth you have unlimited
  177. 6:59potential and you also have limited
  178. 7:03potential both are true so you have no
  179. 7:07idea what you're capable of you have
  180. 7:09unlimited potential in that sense here's
  181. 7:12the sense that you have limited
  182. 7:13potential you're a human being you have
  183. 7:16limited time you have limited resources
  184. 7:19you have limited you you have there are
  185. 7:24limitations of your physical nature you
  186. 7:27know and you've got to work within those
  187. 7:29limitations your resources are precious
  188. 7:32finite things that have got to be
  189. 7:34deployed properly in order for you to
  190. 7:37make the best of yourself so let's not
  191. 7:39fool ourselves that our potential is
  192. 7:42absolutely unlimited and that's the end
  193. 7:44of the story that's half the story so
  194. 7:47those two questions am i asking enough
  195. 7:48of myself and is my life vision
  196. 7:51achievable we'll ensure that you're
  197. 7:55setting the bar in in pretty much the
  198. 7:57right place for you is that
  199. 7:58understandable so far cool ok the next
  200. 8:03one's a big one am I willing to pay the
  201. 8:06price that this life vision will require
  202. 8:10no this is this is everything comes with
  203. 8:13a price everything in life is a
  204. 8:16trade-off if you decide that you're
  205. 8:19gonna be a billionaire and your life
  206. 8:20vision is to create a billion dollar
  207. 8:22company I promise you you're gonna be
  208. 8:24missing a few your kids softball games
  209. 8:27simple as that
  210. 8:28every life vision comes with the price
  211. 8:31and the higher you set the bar the
  212. 8:32bigger that price is going to be and
  213. 8:34there's nothing wrong with look this is
  214. 8:37all completely individual to each one of
  215. 8:39us it'll be different for all of us but
  216. 8:42just be cognizant of the fact that the
  217. 8:44higher the you set the bar the higher
  218. 8:46that price will usually be and so are
  219. 8:49you willing to pay the price that your
  220. 8:51life vision requires
  221. 8:53anything else to say about this okay
  222. 8:55jump in whenever you want to and here's
  223. 9:03the fourth question and this one we
  224. 9:05added a few years in really interesting
  225. 9:08is will the achievement of my life
  226. 9:10vision make me truly happy and truly
  227. 9:13fulfilled not just the achievement the
  228. 9:15journey to get there
  229. 9:17when you say pay the price you know an
  230. 9:19extraordinary life is not easy it's not
  231. 9:22easily won it's not easily achieved it's
  232. 9:24a it's a hero's journey we don't really
  233. 9:26have time it is if there's no great
  234. 9:29person or there's no great life out
  235. 9:30there that didn't have a lot of hardship
  236. 9:33or a lot of hard work or a lot of it's
  237. 9:36not to say that everything is hard you
  238. 9:38know to get to greatness but it's it's
  239. 9:40simply that there is no magic pill for
  240. 9:42this stuff you guys great let's do the
  241. 9:43work greatness requires great effort
  242. 9:45it's just total total common it's a math
  243. 9:48equation of unity so that's a good
  244. 9:50distinction sweetie will the achievement
  245. 9:53of this vision and the journey on the
  246. 9:55way to this vision make me truly happy
  247. 9:57and here's the reason that that's so
  248. 9:58important you guys it's because Missy
  249. 10:01and I have set goals before and we've
  250. 10:04worked our asses off and we've achieved
  251. 10:05those goals and then we've looked wrong
  252. 10:07as in this is what we do that what
  253. 10:09really this is it that's where we work
  254. 10:12for a year on this and it's not that
  255. 10:13cool you know and so you don't want to
  256. 10:15be there you don't want to your time and
  257. 10:18your energy and your focus and your
  258. 10:20resources are finite and they're
  259. 10:22precious and you want to make sure
  260. 10:24you're pushing them in to the right
  261. 10:26place
  262. 10:26Aristotle said happiness is the meaning
  263. 10:29and the purpose of life the entire aim
  264. 10:32and end of human existence so the bottom
  265. 10:34line is this everything we do in life is
  266. 10:37meant for one thing to make us happy
  267. 10:39take a few minutes and ask yourself will
  268. 10:42the achievement of this vision that I've
  269. 10:43set for myself make me truly happy so
  270. 10:47that's the first thing we do after life
  271. 10:49book is we help you think through a
  272. 10:53process of is this vision that I've set
  273. 10:55the right vision for me or do I need to
  274. 10:57modify it if you can answer yes to all
  275. 10:59four of those questions you've pretty
  276. 11:01much dialed it in
  277. 11:02and then what that cuz that help guys
  278. 11:05yeah everyone getting that okay and
  279. 11:07again if you have a question related to
  280. 11:08that just reply on Twitter right okay so
  281. 11:12what that all adds up to is a very short
  282. 11:15synopsis of your life vision this right
  283. 11:17here
  284. 11:18nice little cover page there's not a
  285. 11:20little beach in Hawaii this is this is a
  286. 11:24synopsis a two-page synopsis of our
  287. 11:27ideal life and this has been the target
  288. 11:29of all of our actions and all of our
  289. 11:31choices all of our focus all of our
  290. 11:33resources for the last five years but a
  291. 11:35good way to really look at your life
  292. 11:37vision is to say okay how how do I want
  293. 11:39to live
  294. 11:40how will a day of my life be how I live
  295. 11:43it in that life vision right and that
  296. 11:45can really get you into the
  297. 11:47visualization there's a couple different
  298. 11:48ways to do it this is a really nice way
  299. 11:50that we really like another way that you
  300. 11:52could do is just describe what that
  301. 11:53ideal life looks like what your dream
  302. 11:55house looks like what your level of
  303. 11:56health and fitness is etc but the bottom
  304. 11:58line is you want to get it down into one
  305. 12:00page because then this becomes your
  306. 12:02devotional this becomes your little
  307. 12:04meditation in the morning
  308. 12:05this becomes you you embody this you
  309. 12:08live this you know every word of it this
  310. 12:10is the target of all of your of all of
  311. 12:13your actions right on yeah question from
  312. 12:16unnamed hotel on EIU in the room please
  313. 12:18raise your hand thanks honey
  314. 12:21so our other assets how often do you
  315. 12:23then review this vision almost every day
  316. 12:27this little guy this this stays in my
  317. 12:29notebook I this is part of my my
  318. 12:32visualization yeah yeah miss missus good
  319. 12:36I don't I don't look at it every day I I
  320. 12:40feel like if John does you know somehow
  321. 12:42we have a symbiotically I do yeah but
  322. 12:47but yeah John looks at it every day I
  323. 12:48mean I would say I do a deep dive into
  324. 12:50our life vision every year when we do
  325. 12:53our recalibration right but he's on it
  326. 12:55every single day yeah and we talk about
  327. 12:57it almost so John Priyanka Priyanka
  328. 13:00asses how how do I know what I really
  329. 13:04want
  330. 13:05oh geez it's a great question well how
  331. 13:08you know what I mean that's a that's a
  332. 13:10hero's journey too and and all I can
  333. 13:12tell you guys is that that you know sign
  334. 13:15up for life
  335. 13:16I'm serious that's what it is what you
  336. 13:19what you need to do is you need to get
  337. 13:21somewhere for an extended period of time
  338. 13:23and seriously reflect on all the
  339. 13:26important areas of your life you can do
  340. 13:28it by yourself if you if you can figure
  341. 13:30out how to do it or we've got a
  342. 13:31structured process that can help you
  343. 13:33okay and just see you guys do I mean
  344. 13:35even if you are the type of person who
  345. 13:37was really goal-driven right like I was
  346. 13:39really gold rub and I still AM
  347. 13:41but when I took life book what happens
  348. 13:44is that sometimes we are so caught up
  349. 13:46like moving towards our goals that we
  350. 13:49forget to assess those goals and see if
  351. 13:51those goals really right forests exactly
  352. 13:53so so I mean when I did what life book
  353. 13:56would Christina it was like 2009 or 2010
  354. 13:58what's cool about it is you're going
  355. 14:00into life several days where you're
  356. 14:03doing nothing actually five five names
  357. 14:06where you're having a conversation with
  358. 14:07yourself and going deliberately deep in
  359. 14:09those five categories and I shared with
  360. 14:10you early on day one how I didn't have
  361. 14:13the vision for a fest I didn't know what
  362. 14:14I wanted I knew I wanted to be in this
  363. 14:16type of environment I knew I wanted to
  364. 14:18be on stage I knew I wanted like really
  365. 14:20cool friends and one by one the pieces
  366. 14:22start coming together I think there's
  367. 14:24this beautiful ability in our mind that
  368. 14:25we often don't talk about enough in
  369. 14:28scientific circles or corporate training
  370. 14:30which is honestly the ability to
  371. 14:33manifest our plow addressed it yeah and
  372. 14:35I think when you plant those visions in
  373. 14:37your head incredible serendipitous
  374. 14:39synchronous absolutely and it's a
  375. 14:41combination it's a combination of
  376. 14:43intention and allowing the universe will
  377. 14:47not give you a 12 category smart life
  378. 14:49ain't gonna happen you you you you're
  379. 14:51not gonna get that for free
  380. 14:53you got to bring something to the party
  381. 14:54that's your intention so so back to
  382. 14:56Priyanka's question what do I do if I
  383. 14:58don't know what I want well when I did
  384. 14:59life book I didn't really know what I
  385. 15:01wanted I was in a business partnership
  386. 15:03where my business partner was like
  387. 15:05putting me down on a daily basis I was
  388. 15:08literally on that verge of stepping out
  389. 15:09of mine valley right but I knew I'm
  390. 15:12gonna do but but so I didn't know what I
  391. 15:14wanted but what I knew is that I wanted
  392. 15:16to travel I wanted my family with me I
  393. 15:18wanted inspiring friends I want a summit
  394. 15:21to teach onstage I knew a little bit of
  395. 15:22those pieces but when you start writing
  396. 15:25that down it's like the universe comes
  397. 15:27in and starts
  398. 15:29helping you discover class your
  399. 15:32intuitive radar is turned on total and
  400. 15:34that's what led me to a fest amazing
  401. 15:37okay can I just say one thing about what
  402. 15:39she just asked that we get that a lot we
  403. 15:41don't I don't even know where to begin I
  404. 15:42don't even know what I want and I think
  405. 15:44that the first step in knowing what you
  406. 15:47want is knowing who you are finding out
  407. 15:49who you are and life book is a great way
  408. 15:51to do that but there's a lot of things
  409. 15:52you can do to discover who you are but
  410. 15:54you have to like mission and John are
  411. 15:56both saying you have to bring
  412. 15:57consciousness to yourself to your own
  413. 15:59feelings to your insight we don't do
  414. 16:01that enough in this in our culture now
  415. 16:03we're also distracted all right which
  416. 16:07comes to another question John yeah this
  417. 16:08is from and I and I hope you don't mind
  418. 16:10me no no I think getting people's
  419. 16:11questions because these questions are so
  420. 16:13good Sebastian is in the room Sebastian
  421. 16:16could you stand please wave your hand
  422. 16:17hey brother hey Sebastian so Sebastian
  423. 16:20asked us this how do you balance
  424. 16:21allowing an action that's a great
  425. 16:25question that's kind of where I was
  426. 16:27going with it now this is interesting
  427. 16:28because our last 25 years have been very
  428. 16:32intentional we've been very
  429. 16:34materialistic in in a I think a healthy
  430. 16:37sense of the word we live on the planet
  431. 16:39earth where material beings and our last
  432. 16:4225 years have been very much about what
  433. 16:45we want to see happen what we want to
  434. 16:47create moving toward the achievements
  435. 16:50that we want to accomplish with
  436. 16:53intention just recently we've in last
  437. 16:56few years we sort of had a spiritual
  438. 16:59experience not sort of we did and we
  439. 17:02have discovered the incredible power of
  440. 17:06allowing it's a dance it's a combination
  441. 17:10like I said the universe will never give
  442. 17:12you a 12 category smart extraordinary
  443. 17:15life for free you've got to bring
  444. 17:18something to the party you've really do
  445. 17:19so here's an example of how we used to
  446. 17:21do stuff and how we do stuff now this
  447. 17:22will give you a good answer to this
  448. 17:24question used to be we bump up against
  449. 17:27an obstacle or something would be like
  450. 17:29we were out of flow and really right
  451. 17:31okay what are we gonna do we're gonna do
  452. 17:33we're gonna attack we're gonna attack
  453. 17:35I'm gonna bust through whatever is gonna
  454. 17:36work hard all the way around until
  455. 17:38either we do get through or we don't we
  456. 17:40felt like we had to do it all on our
  457. 17:42right so now it's like
  458. 17:43anytime we hit up we run up against that
  459. 17:45you know not first defense but it's like
  460. 17:47okay this isn't feeling right like we're
  461. 17:49really kind of stuck at that point it's
  462. 17:52like okay
  463. 17:53literally we'll be like okay we're gonna
  464. 17:56hand it over
  465. 17:57invisible world yeah whatever however
  466. 17:59you want to say that I'll give each
  467. 18:00other a massage let it go completely
  468. 18:01release it 100% and it'll come back
  469. 18:04fixed or at least in a better place or
  470. 18:07the answer so it's like from my
  471. 18:09experience at two to three days if you
  472. 18:11can let it live it's a big one yeah
  473. 18:13that's sometimes it's just the next
  474. 18:14morning sleep on it you know that old
  475. 18:16saying just sleep on it no true so we've
  476. 18:19discovered that we live in a benevolent
  477. 18:21universe that is so happy to help us we
  478. 18:24don't have to do it all ourselves but
  479. 18:26we're required to do some of it so it's
  480. 18:28a it's that beautiful dance okay next
  481. 18:31one all right all right guys the next
  482. 18:33the next module that we take a look at
  483. 18:36after you've got this dialed in you've
  484. 18:40got your life vision you really have
  485. 18:41your target you've worked on it you know
  486. 18:43it's right for you the next thing we do
  487. 18:45is we extract what we call the
  488. 18:49foundational goals upon which that life
  489. 18:52vision rests define your foundational
  490. 18:55goals and here's what that means there
  491. 18:57will be four five or six goals that if
  492. 19:02you achieve those you will be living
  493. 19:04that life vision like for us to move to
  494. 19:07Hawaii in order to move to Hawaii we
  495. 19:10have got to automate delegate or
  496. 19:12eliminate everything in our work life
  497. 19:14that is not consistent with a new life
  498. 19:16we want to live so that was an 18-month
  499. 19:18process of automating our businesses
  500. 19:20delegating what we didn't want to run
  501. 19:22anymore and that that was one of our
  502. 19:23foundational goals got to be done before
  503. 19:25we are able to achieve this life vision
  504. 19:27so what you want to do is you want to
  505. 19:30take a look at that life vision and ask
  506. 19:32yourself what are the four five or six
  507. 19:35foundational goals that this vision
  508. 19:37requires and that becomes the most
  509. 19:41important thing in your life because if
  510. 19:43you can sit here and tell me that this
  511. 19:45is the vision that you want to achieve
  512. 19:46in your life and these are the five
  513. 19:48goals on one piece of paper that are
  514. 19:50gonna get you there I'm gonna be asking
  515. 19:52you why you're spending time on almost
  516. 19:53anything else
  517. 19:57because I mean if you're really serious
  518. 19:59about it so set your foundational goals
  519. 20:01understand what they are and then what
  520. 20:04we do after that is we drop into a
  521. 20:06regular rhythmic goal-setting system so
  522. 20:09Missy and I set quarterly goals at the
  523. 20:11beginning of the quarter we said we take
  524. 20:13a look at what we accomplished last
  525. 20:15quarter we take a look at our
  526. 20:16foundational goals and we say what do we
  527. 20:18want to bite off from for the next 90
  528. 20:21days and I mainly handle this because
  529. 20:25it's a masculine sort of because me I
  530. 20:27look at that for that one goal that one
  531. 20:30lever she's won a bunch of stuff you can
  532. 20:34start with your foundational goals all
  533. 20:35these things would really push my life
  534. 20:37forward sometimes there's one I was
  535. 20:40gonna say you're touching in a question
  536. 20:41asked by Ronan Diego Loren are you in
  537. 20:43the room would you kindly stand Ronan
  538. 20:46okay Ronan was the pista is a fitness
  539. 20:48trainer Ronan asked this they're setting
  540. 20:51goals for 12 areas imply that the
  541. 20:52concept of the one thing you know that's
  542. 20:54none great entrepreneurial book called a
  543. 20:56one thing huh does it make the one thing
  544. 20:58obsolete
  545. 20:58no how would foundational goals address
  546. 21:01Ronan question okay so what Missy is
  547. 21:04basically saying is you you need both
  548. 21:08you needed to find the most important to
  549. 21:10understand what's gonna get you there
  550. 21:12and what's gonna get you there are your
  551. 21:13five foundational goals and then what
  552. 21:15miss always looks for is the highest
  553. 21:17leverage point inside of that that's why
  554. 21:18we're such it'll make like two or three
  555. 21:20things both have got it both have got to
  556. 21:22happen the concept of essentialism the
  557. 21:26concept of the one thing is incredibly
  558. 21:29important and people like vision and I
  559. 21:31especially need it because we're
  560. 21:32fighting on so many fronts all the time
  561. 21:34entrepreneurs this is a this right and
  562. 21:36so this is basically about identifying
  563. 21:40the most important thing in your life
  564. 21:41and putting most of your energy there
  565. 21:43and that's absolute what you should do
  566. 21:44there's another way to look at it though
  567. 21:46and it's that we're multifaceted
  568. 21:48creatures made up of these twelve
  569. 21:51different categories that we want to
  570. 21:52focus on and we do have to focus on all
  571. 21:56of them you can't just focus on your
  572. 21:57career at the expense of your parenting
  573. 21:58you can't just focus on your health and
  574. 22:00fitness at the expense of your love
  575. 22:01relationship these things need to be
  576. 22:03attended to they're not electives
  577. 22:05they're mandatory you can have a great
  578. 22:07life except your health is totally
  579. 22:08jacked up and how great is your
  580. 22:10life right so what it comes down to is
  581. 22:13whatever it is that you're doing that's
  582. 22:16your one thing bring consciousness to it
  583. 22:18be there
  584. 22:20pay attention really be there if you're
  585. 22:22talking to your kids be there you're
  586. 22:24having dinner with your wife be there if
  587. 22:26you're in a business meeting focus on
  588. 22:29what you're doing I really like the
  589. 22:31concept of essentialism and the one
  590. 22:33thing and it saved my ass because I'm a
  591. 22:35DD like most other entrepreneurs but the
  592. 22:38other areas of your life have to be
  593. 22:39attended to to like the 12 areas or
  594. 22:43however many areas you have for yourself
  595. 22:45we have 12 they are aspects they're just
  596. 22:48different aspects of one thing what you
  597. 22:51you which is your life so it's like all
  598. 22:53these things are important they're
  599. 22:54different aspects of you so it they're
  600. 22:57they're all kind of the same if that
  601. 23:00makes sense it's like yeah there's 12 of
  602. 23:01them or there's however many your one
  603. 23:03thing is your life and they all add up
  604. 23:05to your life so it is there is really
  605. 23:06just one thing and I want to add
  606. 23:09something to that um those of you who
  607. 23:11online value mentoring have access to a
  608. 23:13mentoring episode I did with Ivan
  609. 23:14Meisner right so Ivan Meisner he started
  610. 23:17one of the world's big networking rooms
  611. 23:19BNI international and I asked him this
  612. 23:22question like how do you find balance in
  613. 23:24your life between work and running a
  614. 23:26huge company and your kids and he said
  615. 23:28you know I used to feel really guilty
  616. 23:29about that but now I realized that
  617. 23:32balance is a myth it's it's not even
  618. 23:34about balance he says work-life balance
  619. 23:36is it's about rather he said
  620. 23:40the insight came to him and he went to
  621. 23:42his son once and he said son I I'm so
  622. 23:44sorry I've been working so hard that I
  623. 23:47feel I've been neglecting you and his
  624. 23:49son turned to him and goes dad what the
  625. 23:50hell do you mean and Ivan goes I've been
  626. 23:54neglecting you I'm not spending enough
  627. 23:55time with you and the son goes I've not
  628. 23:56even noticed that and the son goes the
  629. 23:58great thing about you dad is that when
  630. 24:00you work I know you're working on your
  631. 24:01mission I know you're working hot that's
  632. 24:02cool but when you're with me you are
  633. 24:04100% with me and that's all I care about
  634. 24:08that's and Ivan realized that he was he
  635. 24:10was trying to solve the wrong thing
  636. 24:12it wasn't about work-life balance and
  637. 24:14blocking out these hours it was about
  638. 24:15what are you truly focused on what is
  639. 24:18that one thing and then being with br1
  640. 24:20that's right great okay
  641. 24:24understand the goals that are gonna get
  642. 24:26you there that's the bottom line
  643. 24:28take a look at that life vision and and
  644. 24:29ask yourself what are the foundational
  645. 24:32goals that I need to achieve and then
  646. 24:33it's nice to get into a goal-setting
  647. 24:35rhythm where you've got a constant flow
  648. 24:37of good positive achievements coming
  649. 24:40into your life based on that life vision
  650. 24:43make sure your goals are aligned with
  651. 24:45your life ish and that's the most
  652. 24:46important thing this one's crazy
  653. 24:49powerful this one's about aligning your
  654. 24:52habits with your life vision we actually
  655. 24:55call these we weed in in life book we
  656. 24:57define 12 of them and we call these are
  657. 24:5912 sacred choices that's how big they
  658. 25:03are
  659. 25:03because they will these twelve little
  660. 25:06daily behaviors are what will create you
  661. 25:09and what will define your life and so
  662. 25:13what we do is is we take a look at that
  663. 25:15life ish and we ask ourselves what are
  664. 25:17the what are 12 small daily actions and
  665. 25:21I'm talking small drink a green drink
  666. 25:23that's one of mine everyday delight
  667. 25:26Missi that's one of mine sex doesn't
  668. 25:32count that that you know comes naturally
  669. 25:35cooking does though what are the small
  670. 25:41daily behaviors that will most support
  671. 25:43this life vision and turn me into the
  672. 25:45person that lives that life so that's
  673. 25:48because I like to turn that around
  674. 25:50because bottom line is whatever you do
  675. 25:53in the present moment which is the
  676. 25:54eternal moment that we're always all in
  677. 25:57whatever you do in this present moment
  678. 26:00is how your life ends up being it's what
  679. 26:03turned your life into what it is right
  680. 26:04so that's that's where this whole thing
  681. 26:07we kind of read reverse-engineered
  682. 26:08journey from your goals this way well
  683. 26:10how about really it's all about what
  684. 26:12you're doing right now like all the time
  685. 26:15every time every day
  686. 26:16and those things are what add up to your
  687. 26:18to your life ultimately your life is and
  688. 26:20ultimately your all of your goals so
  689. 26:21this to me is like it's the Holy Grail
  690. 26:25it's how do you spend the time the hours
  691. 26:27of your days
  692. 26:28what kind of states are you in in your
  693. 26:30the hours of your days mental state
  694. 26:32Missy's Missy's first and probably most
  695. 26:35important why don't you
  696. 26:36you're first when your gratitude ritual
  697. 26:38Oh cuz that's so powerful so my first
  698. 26:40the first one on my my 12 sacred choices
  699. 26:43is my morning routine and it varies
  700. 26:46every day but it definitely starts with
  701. 26:48gratitude every morning I just Center
  702. 26:51myself I can center myself with
  703. 26:53gratitude I can talk I can say it out
  704. 26:55loud I can journal it I can just talk in
  705. 26:57the mirror about all the things I'm
  706. 26:58grateful for and this when I get in that
  707. 27:01cycle I automatically just start getting
  708. 27:04super centered and centered and centered
  709. 27:07and centered and to the point where I'm
  710. 27:08just like okay I'm ready for my day
  711. 27:10sometimes I do yoga in that time
  712. 27:12sometimes I work out sometimes I journal
  713. 27:14sometimes I take a walk with our dog
  714. 27:15outside but the point is to get
  715. 27:17completely centered embodied from the
  716. 27:20sleep before in my body grateful what
  717. 27:23does this day gonna be like and that
  718. 27:26helps me stay in the present moment and
  719. 27:27helps our whole that literally sets our
  720. 27:30whole house that's the environment like
  721. 27:35that radiates out to me typical kids to
  722. 27:38everything to our businesses that these
  723. 27:41these little daily habits are so
  724. 27:43powerful mine are exercised daily have a
  725. 27:46green drink daily connect with the kids
  726. 27:50be a great father
  727. 27:51delight Missy I study every day I work
  728. 27:55on my one thing every day so I've you
  729. 27:58know my first two or three hours of my
  730. 28:00morning are about my creative work I
  731. 28:02have my coffee and I'm ready to rock I
  732. 28:04can only write in the morning I can't
  733. 28:05write in the afternoon so I make sure I
  734. 28:08focus my best time on my most important
  735. 28:10thing as opposed to email and and and
  736. 28:12all that stuff anyway getting in touch
  737. 28:14with the habits that will most support
  738. 28:19your life vision is a massively powerful
  739. 28:21thing to do that's game changer and Jon
  740. 28:25Missy this basically addresses perfectly
  741. 28:27the question that Ronan Diego Ronan
  742. 28:30asked the second question
  743. 28:31this was about three hours ago in Missy
  744. 28:33and John have key personal daily or
  745. 28:35weekly habits that help them execute
  746. 28:37towards their vision yeah yes I wish I
  747. 28:40would have brought my you know what we
  748. 28:43actually do we have it we have a list of
  749. 28:45one thirty or forty of the of the most
  750. 28:47common and powerful life book men
  751. 28:50our habits that we should circulate at
  752. 28:51some point I'll see if we can get so you
  753. 28:53guys can literally pick the ones that
  754. 28:55you think are most powerful so johnny by
  755. 28:57misha so after I took the advanced life
  756. 29:00book and I learned about the 12th daily
  757. 29:02commitments I basically went and got a
  758. 29:04habit tracker app if you search for have
  759. 29:06a tracking on the App Store there are so
  760. 29:08many really cool apps that do have a
  761. 29:09tracking I played around with like four
  762. 29:11or five til I found one that really
  763. 29:12worked for me and I listed the habits
  764. 29:14right like for example daily meditation
  765. 29:16is a habit like Russell Simmons says I
  766. 29:19don't do till I meditate gratitude
  767. 29:21is a habit you make these habits a
  768. 29:24healthy juice in the morning is a habit
  769. 29:26so you write down you choose 12 more
  770. 29:29than 12 might get overwhelming and then
  771. 29:31you just check a dot like many of these
  772. 29:33apps it's you click a button or you
  773. 29:35check a dot or you click yes and then it
  774. 29:38tracks you and at the end of the month
  775. 29:40you can see how well you're doing and
  776. 29:41the goal is not to beat yourself up if
  777. 29:44you miss something but what I found is
  778. 29:46that by using an app like that when I
  779. 29:49went to bed at night I would be able to
  780. 29:52notice patterns like was I skipping out
  781. 29:53on something was I skipping out on on my
  782. 29:56healthy breakfast for too many days in a
  783. 29:58row what do I need to do to adjust that
  784. 30:00so it's a really powerful self-checking
  785. 30:02mechanism but John you have a really
  786. 30:04great quote and I remember use you
  787. 30:05saying this quote to me when when I was
  788. 30:07taking the class from you you said if we
  789. 30:10if we implement the 12 habits right and
  790. 30:13we execute them diligently and we make
  791. 30:17it like part of our daily life it is it
  792. 30:21is mathematical certainty yeah like that
  793. 30:25we will reap right I like you know you
  794. 30:27literally can't fail and I track mine
  795. 30:29too I track mine on paper and vision so
  796. 30:31right you guys like you can look back if
  797. 30:34you track your habits you can look back
  798. 30:36and if you've had a shitty week you'll
  799. 30:37be like oh my god look I that's why
  800. 30:40every time you're crushing it you can
  801. 30:42look back and you're like if you do
  802. 30:44these things like vision said you you
  803. 30:46literally can't fail so it's a it's a
  804. 30:49really really important part of the
  805. 30:51process right the app I recommend is
  806. 30:54habit if I it's really easy to use habit
  807. 30:58to fie okay
  808. 31:02the fourth thing this is this is a
  809. 31:05beautiful one it's called stepping into
  810. 31:07your life vision and I'm gonna let miss
  811. 31:09talk about this this is about aligning
  812. 31:11the small daily choices and actions that
  813. 31:14are not necessarily habits this is
  814. 31:16basically how you how you speak to your
  815. 31:18spouse the decisions you make it work
  816. 31:21aligning those with your life vision
  817. 31:23because this is where the magic really
  818. 31:24happens and it's basically what we were
  819. 31:27saying this earlier when you do have
  820. 31:29that life vision when you have that
  821. 31:30amazing vision of the life you want to
  822. 31:32live you know in life book it's all 12
  823. 31:34categories so you know how you want to
  824. 31:36feel in your body you know how you're
  825. 31:37gonna have you know your love
  826. 31:39relationship your parenting all that so
  827. 31:41having that just on the top of your mind
  828. 31:43during the day if I'm a little cranky or
  829. 31:47something I'm I'm not going to just
  830. 31:50spurt out something that would make me
  831. 31:52feel good in the moment to John because
  832. 31:54it's not it doesn't it doesn't get me
  833. 31:56here that's just a moment in time or I'm
  834. 31:58gonna vomit on me like that or the same
  835. 32:00way with my kids if I'm a little edgy or
  836. 32:03something or with anything if you have
  837. 32:04that life vision it's just it's a level
  838. 32:08of consciousness that brain that you
  839. 32:10bring to your everyday life and you're
  840. 32:13like you know what that's where I'm
  841. 32:14going
  842. 32:15most important so if I why can't I just
  843. 32:18start acting that way now like everyday
  844. 32:20all the time and that's really when it
  845. 32:22starts to speed up and you can really
  846. 32:24step in to write the daily actions not
  847. 32:27just the habits with the daily action
  848. 32:29the way you're gonna show up the way
  849. 32:31you're gonna think the way the tiny
  850. 32:32choices look once you've done this work
  851. 32:35and you and you have this vision you
  852. 32:37know who you want to be be that and only
  853. 32:40that you know the kind of a life you
  854. 32:43want to live step into that life you
  855. 32:44start living it today and you do that
  856. 32:46keep trying over now through the small
  857. 32:48daily choices and actions that you make
  858. 32:50so just so Rick Walker Rick are you in
  859. 32:53the room could you please stand hey Rick
  860. 32:56I Rick mm-hmm so so Rick asses too
  861. 32:59really good question yes and Rick thank
  862. 33:01you passing to really deep profound
  863. 33:02questions the first question is so what
  864. 33:05does your daily life look like like like
  865. 33:10okay
  866. 33:11Rick's exact question is is based on
  867. 33:13your life book how does a normal day in
  868. 33:15the life of John
  869. 33:16Missy Butchie like you so much thank you
  870. 33:18well we wake up early usually and Miss
  871. 33:22Ania are usually right home like regular
  872. 33:26day in our right in our house and we're
  873. 33:28only home half the time so this is this
  874. 33:29regular workday we work in our beautiful
  875. 33:32home that was designed for creativity
  876. 33:34and this type of work we're usually
  877. 33:36separate for the first before me right
  878. 33:39yep go down he does he starts writing he
  879. 33:41does his creative work I usually spend
  880. 33:44some time upstairs in our bedroom we've
  881. 33:45got a nice bedroom or doing her witchy
  882. 33:47little gratitude spells some ceremony
  883. 33:50its first thing and I can do that like
  884. 33:52all day long but I don't but so I for me
  885. 33:58it's definitely gratitude it's
  886. 34:00meditation its time in nature its
  887. 34:02setting my getting my head right and
  888. 34:05literally just getting in my body
  889. 34:06getting centered and then when I come
  890. 34:09out of my room or come out from inside
  891. 34:11back in from outside it could be
  892. 34:13anything
  893. 34:14but we're usually together doing doing
  894. 34:16work work work sort of we're onto our
  895. 34:19structure you say you can know she's the
  896. 34:21CEO of life and she's right now acting
  897. 34:23friggin whatever she's running a couple
  898. 34:26of our companies so so it's different
  899. 34:29for me every day right John has more of
  900. 34:31a structure and I kind of flit around
  901. 34:34kinds of things and put out fires but
  902. 34:36but mainly we work in the morning we'll
  903. 34:38have lunch together I take a nap every
  904. 34:40single day after after after lunch and
  905. 34:44then and then we come back together in
  906. 34:46the evening for hour and then evening is
  907. 34:49always family time we turn our computers
  908. 34:51off it we're really good we do not work
  909. 34:53past 5:00 but we're good about that and
  910. 34:55we do we do family time and we love
  911. 34:57watching docudramas and learn history
  912. 34:59with our kids yeah so so yeah that was a
  913. 35:02pouring of an answer because you know
  914. 35:03what's the next question
  915. 35:05and it's a literally funny how how you
  916. 35:08guys stick to those routines when I go
  917. 35:10visit them I know that after lunch I'm
  918. 35:13gone for two hours and disappear in the
  919. 35:15room I'm not sure if they're practicing
  920. 35:17category 30
  921. 35:19after 5 p.m. I'm sorry disclose no more
  922. 35:22business talk it's it's really
  923. 35:24fascinating now the next question from
  924. 35:28Rick is also a really beautiful question
  925. 35:30it is is it best to set your life book
  926. 35:34for the next 20 years or the next 5
  927. 35:36years
  928. 35:36it's up to you we do 5 we've always done
  929. 35:405 and I don't that was probably a
  930. 35:42relatively arbitrary decision early on
  931. 35:45but it proved to work pretty well so
  932. 35:48yeah 5 is just didn't but we've had
  933. 35:51we've actually had kind of both cuz
  934. 35:53we've had our property in Hawaii for
  935. 35:54almost 20 years so we've always known
  936. 35:57that that's on the horizon that's coming
  937. 35:58but we work really in five years five
  938. 36:02years ago it showed up as okay guys it's
  939. 36:04time for you to really start figuring
  940. 36:06this out yeah so so yeah five was
  941. 36:09probably relatively arbitrary but it
  942. 36:11seems to work well for most people again
  943. 36:13there are no rules in life book this is
  944. 36:16a personalized fully customized system
  945. 36:19we've got it very well structured but
  946. 36:22you sort of you can modify it whatever
  947. 36:25way works for you yeah now the next
  948. 36:27question is from Carol butters and Carol
  949. 36:30are you in the room please stand Carol
  950. 36:33if you're here sometimes the questions
  951. 36:35come from people in the room mostly but
  952. 36:37sometimes it's a user on Twitter who is
  953. 36:39also asking the question so Carol a
  954. 36:41sisters how do you fit it all in working
  955. 36:44in your businesses your life book your
  956. 36:45workouts your art and the everyday
  957. 36:48necessities of life time management is
  958. 36:51my greatest challenge please raise your
  959. 36:52hand if you resonate with this yeah for
  960. 36:54sure we get it yeah we totally got it
  961. 36:57it's a thing that happens I mean I would
  962. 37:00say we do it a number of different ways
  963. 37:01for sure we are 12 sacred choices that's
  964. 37:04like that ensures that the basics will
  965. 37:06be attended to
  966. 37:08yeah period for sure and truthfully you
  967. 37:11can't do everything in one day
  968. 37:12you can't even do every you can't even
  969. 37:13cover your whole life in a week I mean
  970. 37:15you can do your best and as things come
  971. 37:18up and as interest you know arise or
  972. 37:21categories or like hey I need some I
  973. 37:23need some help over here it's definitely
  974. 37:25an ebb and flow I like what you said
  975. 37:27earlier about balance is a myth it's
  976. 37:30true you can't always do everything
  977. 37:32all at once a moving target right yeah
  978. 37:34it is I mean it's a it's an organic
  979. 37:36thing that we're doing you guys we're
  980. 37:37going living life on Earth right in
  981. 37:40organic forms and having this amazing
  982. 37:42experience in this soup but I'll tell
  983. 37:45you what the what the best we can do is
  984. 37:47this structured rhythms structured
  985. 37:49rhythms are what ensure that you'll get
  986. 37:52to everything important so what that
  987. 37:55means is you can either workout whenever
  988. 37:58you feel like it in in whatever
  989. 38:00combination you want or you can have a
  990. 38:02structured rhythm of working out for X
  991. 38:04amount you know whatever your deal is
  992. 38:06and we found that structured rhythms are
  993. 38:08absolutely the way to go and that's not
  994. 38:12to say that like our life is super
  995. 38:13structured no it says that look we know
  996. 38:16that we've got to have a healthy diet
  997. 38:18we've got to take care of our bodies we
  998. 38:20got to spend time with our kids we got
  999. 38:21to have a good there's there's so let's
1000. 38:23talk about that yeah so how do we have a
1001. 38:25healthy body how do how do we attend to
1002. 38:27our nutritional needs well we get a
1003. 38:30Vitamix and mrs. got a great smoothie
1004. 38:32recipe and you start to set up your
1005. 38:35systems and processes so that you don't
1006. 38:37have to kind of reinvent everything
1007. 38:38exactly and then like your morning or
  1008. 38:41your day it's like there's a certain
1009. 38:42point that is kind of maybe structured
1010. 38:44like you're gonna eat that are you gonna
1011. 38:46drink that at that time you're gonna
1012. 38:47work out this time you're gonna go to
1013. 38:48yoga but then what happens is once you
1014. 38:51have those things in place you have to
  1015. 38:53think about it anymore
  1016. 38:54there's a quick great quote about 99%
1017. 38:57doing something 99% of the time is
1018. 38:59really hard but 100% is easy right
1019. 39:02because you it's like you takes away the
1020. 39:04internal good bait yeah like just part
1021. 39:07of the process so you just do it I want
1022. 39:09to just say one more thing about about
1023. 39:11structured rhythms and about systems and
1024. 39:12processes so our overnight date is the
1025. 39:16our number one love relationship
  1026. 39:17strategy and that's really really hard
1027. 39:19for a lot of people the way to dial that
1028. 39:22in is you get your child care figured
1029. 39:25out you make it every week it's Thursday
1030. 39:27at start you put a system in place to
  1031. 39:31ensure that that's gonna happen if it's
  1032. 39:33a one-off every week if you've got to
1033. 39:35put all that energy and make it happen
1034. 39:36every week you're gonna fail you know
1035. 39:38three-quarters of the time but if you've
1036. 39:40got it dialed in where you
1037. 39:42the hotel you know the restaurant you
  1038. 39:43know the babysitter everything's dialed
  1039. 39:45in and it's just a process that runs
1040. 39:47vision you're so good at this systems
1041. 39:49and processes so that you have to do
  1042. 39:51constant one-offs all the time
1043. 39:52that really helps the guys listen it is
1044. 39:55just like miss said it's the way life is
  1045. 39:58we've got a lot to attend to we've got a
1046. 40:00lot we want to achieve excellence across
1047. 40:02the board in every area of life that's a
1048. 40:04big job and we got to kind of feel our
1049. 40:07way through it and you gotta just stay
1050. 40:08as conscious as you can is no one else I
1051. 40:11just want to give you guys a tip on
1052. 40:12systems and processes right now how I
1053. 40:14get in because right now the reason I
1054. 40:17can I can take on the the work that I do
1055. 40:20is because collectively mine Valley has
  1056. 40:22some 300 people yeah I'm working on
1057. 40:25different working on different divisions
1058. 40:26but how it started was way way way back
1059. 40:29I was working from a Starbucks and this
1060. 40:31was 2004 and I was tracking my time and
1061. 40:33time logging is really really cool
  1062. 40:35practice to have and I discovered that I
1063. 40:38was spending four hours a day doing
1064. 40:40customer support back then we had a tiny
1065. 40:41site selling meditation CDs for hours a
1066. 40:44day was just customer support replying
1067. 40:46the customers sort of and then I
1068. 40:49measured what my hourly rate was like
1069. 40:54and what I did was I looked at how much
  1070. 40:55was I earning it was basically a
1071. 40:57one-person company at that point
1072. 40:59christina was working as a volunteer for
1073. 41:00the UNHCR so it was just me I didn't
1074. 41:03have a business partner with me yet and
1075. 41:05I measured and I figured out that I was
1076. 41:07making and and this is the truth it was
1077. 41:09really tiny it was like 13 bucks an hour
1078. 41:11I was making 13 bucks an hour on every
  1079. 41:15hour I was breathing right so 13 times
1080. 41:1724 is what I made on an average day now
1081. 41:20what I did was knowing that that my time
  1082. 41:23is what 13 hours I looked at what was I
  1083. 41:26making for the time I worked I was
  1084. 41:28working 10-hour days so let's say it
1085. 41:31came up to 20 bucks an hour it works
1086. 41:32yeah now I got on Craigslist back then
1087. 41:35Craigslist was the big site and I
1088. 41:37searched to see what it would cost to
1089. 41:39hire a customer support agent in my city
1090. 41:43which was Kuala Lumpur it was 7 bucks an
  1091. 41:46hour so I knew okay I'm making 20 bucks
  1092. 41:48but I didn't hire someone for 7 bucks so
  1093. 41:51immediately I knew to hire a person to
  1094. 41:54take care
1095. 41:55that customer support and that was my
1096. 41:57first ever employee Adele right now then
1097. 42:00freed up four hours of maritime now what
1098. 42:02did I do with that four hours I did what
1099. 42:04I knew was higher leverage work I was
  1100. 42:07only a Bremer so I could cope so I
1101. 42:09started coding and improving the website
1102. 42:11optimizing our checkout and our sales
1103. 42:13crew and then when I got that to a
1104. 42:16certain level I found that my hourly
1105. 42:18rate was now 50 bucks an hour now I no
1106. 42:20longer wanted to code I wanted to think
1107. 42:22strategically so I looked how much would
1108. 42:25it cost to hire a coder it was 30 bucks
1109. 42:28but now I'm making 50 bucks an hour so
1110. 42:30great it may make sense to hire a coder
1111. 42:32so I brought in a guy from Finland hon
  1112. 42:35ooh 30 bucks an hour
1113. 42:36so using this methodology what happened
1114. 42:39is my hourly rate started going higher
1115. 42:41and higher and higher and higher and the
1116. 42:44team is also growing and growing and
  1117. 42:46growing and you're delegating but what
1118. 42:48happens is now all of the stuff that you
1119. 42:51need to do gets done but you become
1120. 42:53super disciplined and only doing what
1121. 42:57matches your hourly rate just so I now
1122. 42:59got like super discipline for it so I
1123. 43:01will sometimes get a request to be in a
1124. 43:02podcast or a radio interview and my team
1125. 43:05knows to send a simple query form to
1126. 43:07whoever is requesting the interview and
1127. 43:0990% of the interviews I'll say no to
1128. 43:11because the thing is my hourly rate now
1129. 43:14is so high if that podcaster that
  1130. 43:16interview isn't going to generate enough
1131. 43:18traffic for that it's just not worth my
  1132. 43:20time I don't need the extra publicity so
1133. 43:22great so good this is how the team grew
1134. 43:25this is how I was able to create a fest
1135. 43:26great all of these other things and it's
1136. 43:29really really cool practice thanks first
1137. 43:31you must know your bowel array
1138. 43:32you must outsource anything you can that
1139. 43:36you can outsource for less than your
  1140. 43:37hourly rate don't be afraid about
1141. 43:39getting your team to grow because if you
1142. 43:41are if you know how to pick the right
  1143. 43:43people and that's another whole skill
1144. 43:44you got to learn your team is gonna grow
1145. 43:46but what happens is your influence grows
1146. 43:48your power grows your ability to make
1147. 43:51each hour of your time magnify you
1148. 43:53create things in the world expands and
1149. 43:56that's when your business really starts
1150. 43:57taking well I mean let me just say that
1151. 43:59also can apply to your personal life
1152. 44:01miss and I have worked with a lot of ya
1153. 44:03we've worked with a lot of chiropractors
1154. 44:04and chiropractors have the same problem
1155. 44:07they come in overwhelmed and exhausted
1156. 44:08that's too much right just and and we
1157. 44:11discovered the same thing one year I was
1158. 44:14like listening to these stories over and
1159. 44:16over of Jesus I get home at 7:30 and the
1160. 44:18kids are running around we got a cook
1161. 44:20and and by the time we get done doing
1162. 44:22the dishes and putting the kids to bed
1163. 44:23we got no time for each other and you
1164. 44:26know this was the thing and one year
1165. 44:28we've realized you know what if you if
1166. 44:30you're seeing patients for a full hour
  1167. 44:32you're a $500 an hour professional what
1168. 44:36the hell are you doing the dishes for
1169. 44:38instead of instead of spending time with
1170. 44:41your wife or spending time with your
1171. 44:42kids that same rule can be applied to
1172. 44:44your domestic life hire someone to mow
  1173. 44:46your lawn there's a kid out there that
1174. 44:48needs the job he needs the 15 bucks and
1175. 44:50and you can bet that frees up time in
1176. 44:53your personal life maybe for your
  1177. 44:55workout maybe for your date's hire
1178. 44:57someone to do your dishes but you know
1179. 44:58what a lot of people say no that's not
  1180. 45:00for me I'm not I'm not rich I can't
  1181. 45:01afford a housekeeper we're not talking
  1182. 45:04about that we're talking about you I
  1183. 45:07wasn't rich exactly I was making 13
  1184. 45:09bucks an hour
  1185. 45:10well that's it's it's a values judgment
1186. 45:14it's a priority decision so the best way
1187. 45:18to to achieve success in every life
1188. 45:21category is to dial it in with systems
1189. 45:25and processes as much as you can so that
1190. 45:28it takes on an automatic quality as
1191. 45:30opposed to you having to expend a
1192. 45:32tremendous amount of energy output every
1193. 45:35single day but that brings us to our
1194. 45:38last point which is calibration yeah the
1195. 45:40last point the last thing we take a look
1196. 45:42at is on your way to your life vision as
1197. 45:46you're setting your goals that are
1198. 45:47aligned with your life vision as you're
1199. 45:50performing your daily habits that are
  1200. 45:51aligned with your life isn't as you're
1201. 45:53doing your best to become the expression
1202. 45:55of your life vision and B that you want
  1203. 45:59to make sure that you're paying
1204. 46:00attention to your results so we do this
1205. 46:03quarterly because we set quarterly goals
1206. 46:06so at the end of each quarter we sit
1207. 46:07down and see how do we do and what do we
1208. 46:10want to accomplish next quarter and you
1209. 46:12need to understand whether or not you're
  1210. 46:14getting farther or
1211. 46:15or closer to your life vision we track
1212. 46:19our goals and you guys we said usually
1213. 46:22five or six goals for the quarter and I
1214. 46:25usually achieve three or four of them
  1215. 46:27right so this it's very I think last
1216. 46:31quarter I actually got them all but
1217. 46:32that's very seldom that that happens you
1218. 46:35just do your best and it pushes your
1219. 46:36life forward as far as my my daily
1220. 46:40habits if I can perform a month of my
1221. 46:43daily habits at about a seventy five
1222. 46:45percent level I'm super happy about that
1223. 46:49seventy eighty would be a big win for me
1224. 46:52David sisal he's the only guy in the
  1225. 46:53world thinking do 100 but he's German
1226. 46:55that's how he does it he's and so so
1227. 47:01what you want to do is is you you and
1228. 47:04then you want to measure your overall
  1229. 47:06personal growth we've got life books
1230. 47:07introspect assessment that scores you
1231. 47:09across the 12 categories we take that
1232. 47:12assessment once a quarter just to make
  1233. 47:14sure you're not falling behind on
1234. 47:16anything major that that makes sure that
  1235. 47:17you're that nothing's going to be left a
1236. 47:20chance nothing's going to be left out or
1237. 47:22falling behind or if you chose like a
1238. 47:25goal that didn't end up panning out and
  1239. 47:27it's not making you happier there's
1240. 47:28something that you outgrew that happens
1241. 47:30yep kick it out gotta get rid of it I
1242. 47:32mean the idea is don't be too rigid
1243. 47:34right about your goal setting you you
1244. 47:36have to to get in the game to like set
  1245. 47:38your intentions but then it's like we're
1246. 47:41living a fluid existence you guys you
  1247. 47:44know this is a it's organic life is
1248. 47:46organics you have to be able to move and
1249. 47:48Bend and change and don't beat yourself
1250. 47:50up for choosing the wrong goal and then
1251. 47:51getting to halfway down and like man not
1252. 47:53doing that one sometimes we just mark
1253. 47:55them off yeah see that's not the one
1254. 47:56we're gonna do now and you can see the
1255. 47:58masculine feminine dynamic here the
1256. 48:00masculine dynamic is the structure
1257. 48:02you've got to have the structure the
1258. 48:04feminine dynamic is working inside that
1259. 48:07structure and expressing yourself and
1260. 48:10finding the the mysteries and the
  1261. 48:12unexpected opportunities right so that's
1262. 48:15what this system allows you to do so
  1263. 48:18that's pretty much that's pretty much
1264. 48:20our five steps to really manifesting a
  1265. 48:25very well-defined life vision
1266. 48:28so John I'd like to ask one final
1267. 48:29question this comes from any cell phone
1268. 48:32use in the audience Amy would you stand
1269. 48:34if you're in the room things are so
  1270. 48:38bright I can't see under the light so
1271. 48:44Amy said how do you stay committed to
  1272. 48:46your vision mm-hmm when you're going
1273. 48:48through like dark painful moments yeah
1274. 48:51that's tough well the answer is purpose
  1275. 48:53yeah 100% purpose if you have a strong
1276. 48:56enough purpose you will climb any
1277. 48:59mountain you will cover any distance you
1278. 49:01will cross any barrier nothing will be
1279. 49:04able to stop you you might have a bad
1280. 49:06day or two or you just really don't want
1281. 49:08to get up out of bed and your feet don't
1282. 49:10feel like moving but it does come down
1283. 49:12to your purpose in your commitment and
1284. 49:15and that's okay like I think that one of
1285. 49:17the things that happens when we get in
1286. 49:19one of those bad low states is the
1287. 49:22danger is to stay there you just keep
1288. 49:24beating yourself up and beating yourself
  1289. 49:26up and saying man I'm such a loser I'm
1290. 49:27sending you that self-talk you go down
1291. 49:29down down I think that it is purpose but
1292. 49:32it's also just stopping just like
1293. 49:36stopping the negative flow if you can
1294. 49:38and that comes down to for me it's it's
1295. 49:41gratitude it's like if you can shower
1296. 49:43yourself and pour yourself into
1297. 49:45gratitude or pour gratitude into
  1298. 49:47yourself I get you Beckham you don't you
1299. 49:49get back on track yeah thank you John
  1300. 49:51and Missy I don't do parting words of
1301. 49:53advice for the audience I love you guys
1302. 49:57and love being here with this amazing I
  1303. 50:01mean I feel like we've really found our
  1304. 50:02tribe you guys vibrate well I want I
1305. 50:05want to invite everybody here dijanna
1306. 50:07are gonna do a very special event in
1307. 50:09March at our house right really it's
1308. 50:12gonna be the last our last hurrah the
1309. 50:15last time the last time John and I
  1310. 50:16facilitate and we haven't facilitated in
1311. 50:18years and we're gonna come back in March
  1312. 50:21and we're gonna facilitate a session in
  1313. 50:22our home that we're leaving we're moving
1314. 50:24to Hawaii you guys heard to say that so
1315. 50:26this is the beautiful house that was
1316. 50:28featured in oh yeah we're keeping that
  1317. 50:30and we're turning that into a retreat
  1318. 50:31center it's gonna be a place of healing
1319. 50:33and gathering and knowledge and
1320. 50:36creativity and so to kick that off that
  1321. 50:39we're gonna call the sanctuary we're
  1322. 50:41gonna do
1323. 50:41five day live life book session and
1324. 50:44we're offering it to you guys so there's
1325. 50:47only a few virus gotalk remember reader
  1326. 50:49and when it count
1327. 50:50it would be I just to say something
1328. 50:52about that um it took me a really long
1329. 50:54time to get John and they see the a fest
1330. 50:56and as soon as they came into the tribe
1331. 50:57they started coming back early
1332. 51:00we love these people of but in 20 in
1333. 51:022013 or 2012 2012 we did an AFS in
  1334. 51:06Mexico now back then I couldn't get John
1335. 51:08and Missy to AFS right um so they send
1336. 51:10someone from their team because they
1337. 51:12were they were busy conquering the world
1338. 51:13and looking more than doing so I sent
1339. 51:15someone from the team and we did a
1340. 51:16three-hour session on life book in 10%
1341. 51:18of all the a festus signed up for life
1342. 51:21book including Lisa Nichols so they did
1343. 51:24a series of like Thatcher so like 35 35
  1344. 51:2735 a fastest at a time just these a
  1345. 51:29faster sessions and I remember Lisa
1346. 51:32Nichols attended one of those sessions a
1347. 51:33lot of the metric the facilitators went
1348. 51:35as well and years later Lisa was moving
1349. 51:38house and you guys all know who Lisa
1350. 51:39Nichols this right yes yes ELISA was in
1351. 51:41Houston and and Lisa said said I gotta
1352. 51:44tell you a really cool story so I was
  1353. 51:46driving I was I was I had my the u-haul
1354. 51:48truck behind me with all of my
1355. 51:50possessions and on the passenger seat
1356. 51:52was just one thing right it was my life
1357. 51:55and so to Lisa I became one of the most
1358. 51:58precious moments now back then when
1359. 52:01eight masters good life book it was done
1360. 52:03with a facilitator what John and Missy
1361. 52:05are saying is that they are doing it
  1362. 52:06which is a whole different experience I
1363. 52:08didn't even do it with John and Missy I
1364. 52:10did it with facilitators so this is like
  1365. 52:13really something they're doing one not
1366. 52:15hang out in your house since you guys
  1367. 52:18are moving to Hawaii
1368. 52:19so if you want to know more about it
1369. 52:20just go up to David David I'll give you
  1370. 52:22all the information David I use

  1376. 52:48what you're doing here seeking
  1377. 52:52self-actualization it's it's like the
1378. 52:56highest noblest thing that you could be
1379. 52:59doing it's what the world needs now more
1380. 53:02than anything else and it's just awesome
1381. 53:08I would I would say one more thing you

1386. 53:22your life because having an
  1387. 53:23accountability partner is a whole
1388. 53:24different levels true of accountability
