11. 1:09started the process of natural shedding
12. 1:12which is mother nature's way of self
13. 1:13trimming or releasing any extra hoof the
14. 1:16only problem is sometimes it doesn't
15. 1:18work perfectly and sometimes it can
16. 1:21leave these gaps that become collection
17. 1:23points for stones and debris and even
18. 1:25sometimes it doesn't shed all the way
19. 1:27off and becomes an even bigger problem
20. 1:30like you'll see on the next hoof

63. 5:16cow's hoof is pretty tough and the
64. 5:18leading factor to
65. 5:20hoof hardness is the moisture content in
66. 5:23the environment that the hoof is in so
67. 5:25there are two things that have led to
68. 5:27her hoof being
69. 5:28fairly tough the first being
70. 5:31that this farm beds with sand so the
71. 5:34feet are already in a pretty dry
72. 5:37environment and the second being that
73. 5:39since this hoof has been sensitive for
74. 5:41the last few days she's been holding it
75. 5:43up in the air a little bit more and it
76. 5:45hasn't been in contact with the
77. 5:47wet concrete so it's become dried out a
78. 5:50little more than normal

83. 6:35she has damage to her chorium up

88. 6:53she's ulcerated so it's bleeding from
89. 6:56within

100. 7:40she's not hurting she's not kicking or
101. 7:42jumping so you can tell this is all
102. 7:43right
103. 7:46so i'm going to wrap this up with iodine
104. 7:48clean this toe off and throw a block on
105. 7:50it

140. 9:55get used to and comfortable with walking
141. 9:57on the block and as i was going to show
142. 10:00that i somehow had a camera malfunction
143. 10:03where it got focused on the brightness
144. 10:06and never changed back so i apologize
145. 10:08for that as i was walking her back to
146. 10:10the pen she got better with every step
147. 10:12but my camera never recovered from the
148. 10:15brightness so unfortunately we have to
149. 10:17move on to the next cow and i will bring
150. 10:19you back to this farm in a week or two
151. 10:21and we'll do a follow-up on this girl
152. 10:22just so i can show you her recovery

154. 10:36so for anybody thinking maybe if these
155. 10:38cows weren't on a big farm they wouldn't
156. 10:39have problems like that and actually
157. 10:42couldn't be more the opposite
158. 10:45like i said before i've been trimming on
159. 10:47this farm for 17 years every monday this
160. 10:49is what we do almost all of the time
161. 10:52we're maintaining them and keeping them
162. 10:53like this that foot that you saw a
163. 10:55minute ago that can happen fast with a
164. 10:57piece of gravel getting stuck in the
165. 10:58white line working its way up into the
166. 11:00aquarium but most of our work here is
167. 11:03doing maintenance and if it wasn't a big
168. 11:05farm they wouldn't be able to have us
169. 11:07here every week doing maintenance on all
170. 11:08of their cows
