Full transcript
- 0:01ABBY LEE: Previously on Dance Moms...
- 0:03MAN: Until Abby tells me it's okay,
- 0:05they cannot dance.
- 0:07HOLLY: Abby's trying to get the number pulled.
- 0:08Are you kidding me?
- 0:09The line has been drawn in the sand,
- 0:11and it's not on the side of the elites.
- 0:12Ah!
- 0:14JILL: She's on to her next big thing.
- 0:15Well, guess what?
- 0:16Hi, guys.
- 0:16Hi.
- 0:18So are we.
- 0:20STACEY: They're competing at the same competition
- 0:21as us on Saturday.
- 0:22SARI: If the juniors don't want
- 0:23to work with her, we do.
- 0:25The teens should not be being beat
- 0:27by the minis, and we're being set up every week
- 0:28for the minis to beat us.
- 0:30Is that what you're afraid of,
- 0:31that they're beating you?
- 0:33Maybe we do hate Abby.
- 0:34I just don't give a damn.
- 0:35JILL: But if we do,
- 0:36it's because she made us hate her.
- 0:38ANNOUNCER: Entry number 83,
- 0:40"And Then There Was One."
- 0:41ABBY LEE: They didn't win,
- 0:43but you know what, girls? The grass is always greener on
- 0:44the other side, but then,
- 0:46your dog (bleep) in it.
- 0:48You did that to them.
- 0:48It was bull, dip (bleep).
- 0:51You're the dip (bleep)!
- 0:52I don't know what we're gonna do,
- 0:54but we won't be at the ALDC L.A.
- 0:56KIRA: You're dead to us.
- 0:59♪ Livin' on the dance floor.
- 1:15HOLLY: I'm conflicted, to be honest with you.
- 1:19I think that after that
- 1:21last week that we had with Abby, we just
- 1:24all really needed the eight weeks off. Our girls
- 1:26needed eight weeks off, and kind of regroup, and see
- 1:29if coming back is the answer or not.
- 1:32JILL: Things did not
- 1:34end well at the last competition two months ago.
- 1:37We walked out on Abby.
- 1:39And now we're back in L.A., because Abby called us.
- 1:42She wants to talk,
- 1:45and I have no idea what that woman is gonna say.
- 1:48Is she going to ask us back, or did she call us back
- 1:51to give us one final, "Screw you"?
- 1:55I don't know.
- 1:56I am sure that we can sit here
- 1:57and come up with 2,000 reasons why not to go back.
- 2:00Are there any reasons left why to go back, though?
- 2:02Because Abby is who she is.
- 2:04She's always got these good and these bad things,
- 2:05and the good things are what she's done.
- 2:07I mean, honestly,
- 2:08we all know that nobody would be sitting here
- 2:10if it wasn't for her.
- 2:11JILL: Well, here's what happened.
- 2:13When the kids stopped winning,
- 2:15that's when she went to the minis.
- 2:16"Well, I need a new team, someone that can win."
- 2:18She doesn't want us in there.
- 2:19KIRA: Oh, I think she needs us
- 2:20in there, and she knows
- 2:21she needs us in there.
- 2:21Nope. Nope.
- 2:23She doesn't know how to, and she's never gonna apologize.
- 2:25JILL: She doesn't need us.
- 2:25KIRA: She's not going to apologize to those kids.
- 2:28JILL: It's not in her nature.
- 2:29She doesn't know how to do it.
- 2:30I don't want to go in
- 2:31and ask for an apology, or ask for forgiveness.
- 2:33I just want to go in and see where she's at,
- 2:35and if it's possible to move forward or not.
- 2:36If she's willing to come back from that place
- 2:38she went to where she stopped caring,
- 2:39and come back to caring about our kids.
- 2:41And if she's not, then we leave.
- 2:47Are we just going to sit here, or are we going to go find out?
- 2:51(sighs)
- 3:13ASHLEE: Hi, Abby.
- 3:24Look what the cat dragged in.
- 3:27I've had some time to think about the mini team,
- 3:31and about the junior elite competition team,
- 3:32and about what the moms did to me.
- 3:34I told the moms to come back
- 3:36to the Abby Lee Dance Company to discuss my take on it.
- 3:38I don't think you,
- 3:40as adult women, should have allowed your children
- 3:43to go against their teacher.
- 3:45JILL: Abby, you gave them
- 3:47no choice. You're not... You would...
- 3:47What do you mean?
- 3:50I gave... They had lots of choices.
- 3:50You haven't been there. No, you didn't.
- 3:52You haven't been there for them.
- 3:53You've turned your back on them.
- 3:56I don't think I turned my back on anyone.
- 3:58Abby, you sabotaged our kids so they wouldn't win.
- 4:00No, I didn't.
- 4:00You reveled when we lost.
- 4:03We don't want to rehash...
- 4:03Yeah, I-I... I...
- 4:05Let's not rehash it.
- 4:06JILL: Do you want these kids
- 4:07at your studio or not?
- 4:08ABBY LEE: I set out
- 4:11more than five years ago
- 4:12to challenge myself to put
- 4:14a new competition routine on stage every single week.
- 4:17I'm not a quitter.
- 4:19I would like to finish what we started.
- 4:21I would like to see it through with these kids.
- 4:26If the girls want to be here, and they are proud
- 4:28to be members of the Abby Lee Dance Company,
- 4:31then they're welcome.
- 4:33You want them?
- 4:34Right.
- 4:35ASHLEE: I mean, let's face it.
- 4:36We're lost without Abby.
- 4:37We tried, and we failed.
- 4:40Maddie didn't become famous
- 4:41because she was on a losing team.
- 4:43Opportunities came from winning,
- 4:44so our girls need to be on a winning team.
- 4:47I have a big announcement to make
- 4:48that the girls should probably hear.
- 4:52Let me deal with the minis first,
- 4:53and then I will call for the girls.
- 4:56HOLLY: I hope this big announcement is gonna be
- 4:58positive enough that it's going to make us want
- 5:00to come back and stay with the team,
- 5:01because there has to be some type of change.
- 5:05If Abby can't meet Nia's needs,
- 5:08we will continue to walk out the door.
- 5:10♪
- 5:13ABBY LEE: Hello.
- 5:15How are you?
- 5:15Good.
- 5:17You're good? Yes?
- 5:18How are you?
- 5:20YOLANDA: It's great to be back. We went through
- 5:21a lot with the junior elite's quitting.
- 5:23I think we have proven to Abby
- 5:25that we are invested in her.
- 5:27We are her team, and we are proud
- 5:29to represent the ALDC.
- 5:31So it's just us here today?
- 5:35I...
- 5:39I really don't know what to think. I'm at a loss.
- 5:41Because... I did train those kids,
- 5:45and I've been a lot more influential in their lives
- 5:48than I have
- 5:49in your kids so far.
- 5:51And I feel like
- 5:52I need to teach those kids
- 5:56not to be quitters.
- 5:58So I don't know if my lessons
- 6:02with them are over.
- 6:03But I have a big announcement
- 6:05to make, and everyone should hear it.
- 6:08HOLLY: So we came in a little
- 6:10earlier than you-- I know you guys were at school--
- 6:12to go and check in on Abby.
- 6:14And we wanted to know where she stood, where she stood with
- 6:17all of you, and I think
- 6:19the long and short of it was like, "Don't come
- 6:21if you're not proud to support the ALDC."
- 6:23How do you girls feel about being back?
- 6:25Like, what's your thoughts? What's your feelings?
- 6:30I think mostly we're here to see if
- 6:32Abby realizes that she needs us
- 6:35just as much as we need her, so,
- 6:37hopefully, things turn out better this time.
- 6:39I know it's not going to be easy at first,
- 6:42but maybe, just maybe, it'll get
- 6:44a little bit better.
- 6:45SARI: So what does
- 6:47us being back, what does that say for the minis?
- 6:49What is it? It's been a year that
- 6:50we've been here, right? I mean...
- 6:51You had a good run.
- 6:58Well, on that note, let me get the girls.
- 7:10TIFFANIE: I did not see this coming.
- 7:12They walked out on Abby.
- 7:14And just to waltz back in as if, like, nothing happened?
- 7:16That's just ridiculous.
- 7:19STACEY: You should know
- 7:21that the moms,
- 7:22when they left, said
- 7:23that the treatment they get
- 7:25from you, that they would be bad parents
- 7:27to stay one more day, so,
- 7:29I'm very confused to see them here.
- 7:30That's what you said.
- 7:30I didn't say that.
- 7:32HOLLY: You know what? You know what?
- 7:33You are correct.
- 7:34I will own my words.
- 7:35I have no problem doing that.
- 7:37And we had a conversation with Abby
- 7:39about our issues.
- 7:41So if you want to be a tattletale, feel free.
- 7:43I mean, stop. Grow up.
- 7:45STACEY: The fact that
- 7:47you can leave, say horrible things
- 7:49about Abby, and then just
- 7:50walk back in with your heads held high--
- 7:53that's not fair.
- 7:55So I am bitter.
- 7:57ABBY LEE: All right.
- 7:58So I have a few things
- 8:00to say.
- 8:03We've had eight weeks off.
- 8:05I had a lot of time to think.
- 8:07I don't think the two teams
- 8:09worked out as well as I would have liked it.
- 8:14It was chaos.
- 8:16You all
- 8:17want to have an opinion.
- 8:19Kerri,
- 8:20you went on the stage
- 8:22and ripped
- 8:24all the stuff off of your kid's costume.
- 8:26Moms coming in, telling me,
- 8:28"They're not gonna wear a costume.
- 8:30My kid isn't gonna be garbage."
- 8:32Da-tata, da-tata, da-tata, dah.
- 8:34Stops.
- 8:35You are stifling
- 8:37my creativity.
- 8:39It's my dance company.
- 8:41I don't want to be split in half and do
- 8:44a mini and a junior.
- 8:46I-I don't need the stress. I don't need the aggravation.
- 8:49So, what are you saying exactly?
- 8:52At the end of this week,
- 8:54not everyone in this room
- 8:57will still be here.
- 9:00I will be sending some of you home.
- 9:04I'm going to have one
- 9:07competition team.
- 9:08Take a moment
- 9:10and think about that.
- 9:12Think hard, because your actions
- 9:16over the next few hours,
- 9:17over tomorrow's rehearsals
- 9:19and certainly during the performance
- 9:22on the weekend
- 9:23will determine
- 9:25who stays, who goes.
- 9:27It's the fight of your life if you want it.
- 9:30JILL: This is just what we wanted-- one team,
- 9:34one team to get all of Abby's attention, but
- 9:37it's a little disappointing that this team is going
- 9:40to be made up of our girls and the minis.
- 9:43This is our team.
- 9:45The girls can't let the minis or the mini moms
- 9:48push them off of it.
- 9:49ABBY LEE: This week
- 9:50we're going to Las Vegas.
- 9:53(cheering)
- 9:55We have two solos.
- 10:00The two solos are going to Kendall and Brynn.
- 10:07Both of these solos are very powerful women.
- 10:10Kendall, the title of your routine, and the woman that
- 10:12you're portraying is Cleopatra.
- 10:15JILL: Oh, I like that.
- 10:16Brynn, you are portraying Evita Perón.
- 10:21The title of
- 10:23the group routine is "Fight Camp."
- 10:26This is about the fight
- 10:29in you.
- 10:31I want to see the fight that you want
- 10:33to be the best dancer.
- 10:37Yes. You are together on stage.
- 10:43After walking out on Abby,
- 10:44I thought we would be on probation,
- 10:46or we'd have to clean her bedroom.
- 10:48So I wasn't expecting to be
- 10:50dancing so soon, especially dancing with the minis, but...
- 10:53I'll take it.
- 10:55Now remember,
- 10:57at the end of this week,
- 10:59I will be sending some of you home.
- 11:01Right this second now,
- 11:03everyone has an equal slate.
- 11:07I want kids who love what they're doing.
- 11:10And if you're too old,
- 11:12if you're too young, if you can't hang,
- 11:16or you have too many other opportunities,
- 11:18maybe it's time to go.
- 11:20KERRI: Is it a true clean slate
- 11:22for everyone, or are you still taking things that happened?
- 11:25I have to take things that happened
- 11:27with everybody into consideration.
- 11:30So it could be, "I still don't want you.
- 11:32You're not gonna be here," and it's not worth trying,
- 11:34because...
- 11:34I don't know, Kerri.
- 11:36Answer your own question.
- 11:41Where are you going?
- 11:49Yes, certainly.
- 11:49(crying)
- 11:56JILL: You know, Kerri didn't get a good start from the start.
- 11:59And the problem is, if Abby doesn't like you,
- 12:02she makes it miserable for your child, and Peyton's
- 12:06so little, so young,
- 12:09that I think Kerri made the right decision
- 12:12in just not sticking it out.
- 12:14Abby was going to cut her anyway.
- 12:23Oh.
- 12:23(laughs)
- 12:27KERRI: I can't put her through a week knowing
- 12:32she already feels the way she feels about me.
- 12:33She's been trying to kick me out from day one.
- 12:36She's called me trash multiple times.
- 12:38I'm not trash. I may not be rich.
- 12:40I may not have billions of dollars,
- 12:41but every penny I have goes for her dance.
- 12:44And I'm not trash.
- 12:45ABBY LEE: Oh, well.
- 12:47One down, lots to go.
- 12:59♪
- 13:02ABBY LEE: All right, girls.
- 13:04The name of the piece is "Fight Camp." I want
- 13:08to see fight. Don't worry about the tricks.
- 13:10This is fight camp.
- 13:11This isn't day camp.
- 13:13Understood? All right, come on, let's go.
- 13:15All right.
- 13:17Do the jump.
- 13:18Freeze. She steps right.
- 13:21You walk left, right, left.
- 13:25Okay. So let's see.
- 13:33ABBY LEE: I'm doing a routine that's very similar
- 13:35to the routine I did when all the elites walked out.
- 13:38They left because this wasn't a winning routine.
- 13:41Well, they're wrong. It is a winning routine.
- 13:43This dance is about
- 13:45their fight, their integrity.
- 13:47I'm going to cut people at the end of the week.
- 13:50Who is fighting for their life?
- 13:51Who doesn't want to get cut?
- 13:53Show me, girls.
- 13:55How much fight do you have in you?
- 13:57TIFFANIE: So are you guys worried that they're gonna replace you guys?
- 13:59ASHLEE: I think everybody sitting up here
- 14:01has considered that possibility.
- 14:03HOLLY: I put nothing past that woman.
- 14:05ASHLEE: I think part of what's going on is
- 14:06she wants to see who wants to be here.
- 14:08Did she say she's cutting one or two kids?
- 14:10She didn't say.
- 14:11She would not commit.
- 14:13I do think is that she will keep some of
- 14:16the minis. I don't think she's gonna get rid of all the minis.
- 14:18I have no idea what she's doing with us.
- 14:19I mean, what exactly do you deserve?
- 14:21You walked out on her.
- 14:22JILL: Listen, it's a cause and effect.
- 14:25She turned her backs on the kids.
- 14:27We had no other choice...
- 14:27STACEY: That's not true.
- 14:29...to leave and... Yes, it is.
- 14:30That's not true.
- 14:30How do you know it's not true?
- 14:31Don't talk to me like I'm two years old.
- 14:34Grow up, Stacey.
- 14:36I thought you were a professional.
- 14:36Tattle like you're two years old.
- 14:38I am a professional. That's why I don't need
- 14:39to be talked to like a two-year-old.
- 14:39Then don't talk like that.
- 14:40You don't talk like that.
- 14:42KIRA: You have
- 14:43the bitchiest stink face I have ever seen in my life.
- 14:45TIFFANIE: That's just the way you'll talk, though.
- 14:46You need to, like...
- 14:48STACEY: Why would we not be upset
- 14:49when my daughter is crying last night, saying,
- 14:51"Abby brought me here,
- 14:53and now she's going to throw me out like trash"?
- 14:55And sorry to burst you guys' bubble,
- 14:57but the ALDC did not crumble
- 14:59when you walked out of this building. It went on.
- 15:01But your cookie... your cookie might crumble soon enough.
- 15:05JILL: Am I worried that Kendall
- 15:07might get cut from this team?
- 15:08Of course I am.
- 15:10But Abby's gonna do what she's going to do, so,
- 15:13these mini moms can freak out
- 15:15as much as they want, but it's not going to help.
- 15:19ABBY LEE: All right, girls.
- 15:21This competition team was
- 15:24originally formed with a rivalry, a big one.
- 15:27You know who I'm talking about.
- 15:29It's healthy to want
- 15:31to be better than somebody else as a dancer.
- 15:34A few seasons ago
- 15:36when the ALDC won 14 times in a row,
- 15:39there was a big rivalry between the dancers.
- 15:42And that's what kept pushing everybody to be the best.
- 15:44I don't
- 15:46see that anymore on this team.
- 15:47I want to get back to those glory days.
- 15:49I want those 14 wins in a row,
- 15:53and you don't get that by playing nice.
- 15:56All right. Brynn, you're doing Evita.
- 16:01All right? This is a big character.
- 16:04This is somebody that was a voice of the people,
- 16:07and you need to be that voice.
- 16:09So relevé, relevé,
- 16:12and then lower your heel in... in, um, to plié.
- 16:17Okay, from the top.
- 16:19(piano playing slow, gentle tune)
- 16:25ASHLEE: So far, Brynn was the only soloist
- 16:27who won an overall high score.
- 16:30Abby has a winning soloist on her team, and that's Brynn.
- 16:33I'm not sure what Abby means by cuts exactly, but
- 16:37I guess it could be anybody at this point.
- 16:38That's good.
- 16:38It would be just like her
- 16:40to cut somebody you would never think she was going to cut.
- 16:43Brynn just feels like she knows she has to prove herself.
- 16:46ASHLEE: I think what Abby is looking for
- 16:48is the kid that gets on stage and wins for her,
- 16:51and still wants that.
- 16:52Kalani is moving on to a professional career.
- 16:56Nia is moving on to a singing career.
- 16:58Kendall has some big things going on for her.
- 17:00I think for the Abby Lee Dance Company,
- 17:02she's looking for somebody who wants to be here
- 17:04and dance here at her studio, and represent her,
- 17:06and go to competitions and win solos.
- 17:09JILL: It can't only be about the win, because
- 17:13sometimes you're just not going to win.
- 17:14It has to be about your personal best.
- 17:16I'm talking about who's going to be the next star,
- 17:18the next winner, the next kid
- 17:20that Abby counts on to win when we go to competition.
- 17:22That's what I'm talking about.
- 17:23No, you... From the very beginning,
- 17:25you said Abby brought Brynn in
- 17:28to replace Maddie.
- 17:29So you came in to be the new Maddie.
- 17:29Uh, no, no, no, no.
- 17:32And then you were all ticked off when you weren't the new Maddie.
- 17:34She'll never be Maddie.
- 17:36I don't want her to be Maddie. You guys...
- 17:37You said, "Who here doesn't want their kid to be Maddie?"
- 17:39And we all raised
- 17:41our hand. Do you remember that?
- 17:42Okay. We have to change the semantics of that.
- 17:44Who wants their kid to be the next star?
- 17:44You said it,
- 17:46Ashlee. But see, you say things, and then you back it up.
- 17:49And the Maddie word
- 17:50has nothing to do with what I'm talking about.
- 17:52JILL: You know what?
- 17:55Ashlee can have rivalry all she wants,
- 17:57but Abby wants to cut the team.
- 18:00That's what I'm worried about.
- 18:01I think Kendall could be cut, yes.
- 18:04Do I think it would be the right move on Abby's part?
- 18:06No. Does Abby always do what's right?
- 18:09No.
- 18:10ABBY LEE: All right. You're dismissed.
- 18:12Very good work. I'm gonna work with Kendall.

- 38:44But how do I cut kids

- 38:48Who didn't go to another instructor,
- 38:51like the junior elite competition team has?

- 38:55with me for years, and we're a family.
- 38:59But I have to think about what I want,
- 39:03what is best for my team.
- 39:05I'm really, really, really torn.
- 39:14So...
- 39:16I...
- 39:29ABBY LEE (crying): I just...
- 39:32I can't make the decision.
- 39:34It's awful, and I'm just not ready right now.

- 40:10who's holding this team back.
- 40:11Nobody's safe.
- 40:13You might be taking
- 40:16somebody's place that you have watched
- 40:20for years.
- 40:22I'm back!
- 40:24JILL: Of all the enemies, that's probably the biggest.

- 40:30Get out of my face!
- 40:31ABBY LEE: I will
- 40:33crucify them.
- 40:33It will be a living hell.
- 40:36Holy (bleep).
- 40:37YOLANDA: But what
- 40:38happens after that?
- 40:39ABBY LEE: That's up
- 40:41to you and your child.
- 40:43Why are you so fixated on my kid?
- 40:43(Kendall yelling)

- 40:51some kid come in here and screw them up.
- 40:54You're a sick woman.
- 40:56ABBY LEE: My biggest mistake I've ever made
