- 0:21today, I'm going to talk about money.
- 0:25This is a really important topic because
- 0:28money is a big part of our lives. So
- 0:32first, let's talk about currencies.
- 0:36A currency is the type of money that a
- 0:39country uses. For example, the currency
- 0:43of the US is the dollar and the currency
- 0:47of Mexico is the peso. Every country
- 0:51uses a currency to buy and sell things.
- 0:56Some currencies are very valuable and
- 0:59other currencies are not very valuable.
- 1:03For example, today, one US dollar is
- 1:07worth 22 Mexican pesos. The dollar is
- 1:11more valuable right now. So, what
- 1:15currency does your country use? Okay,
- 1:18now let's talk about prices. In the US,
- 1:23most things are expensive. They cost a
- 1:26lot of money. In other countries, things
- 1:30are cheap. They don't cost a lot of
- 1:33money. For example, in the US, the
- 1:36average price of a house is about
- 1:39$250,000.
- 1:43But in Mexico, the average price of a
- 1:45house is probably around $40,000.
- 1:50That's a big difference, huh? Prices are
- 1:53very different in different countries.
- 1:56Another difference is with salaries. The
- 2:00salaries in some countries are high and
- 2:03the salaries in other countries are low.
- 2:07In the US, salaries are pretty high.
- 2:11Americans need to make a lot of money
- 2:14because life is expensive in the US. In
- 2:18some countries, people don't need a lot
- 2:20of money to live, but everyone needs
- 2:24some money to survive. Okay, now let's
- 2:27talk about spending and saving money.
- 2:31Some people really like spending money
- 2:34and other people prefer saving more
- 2:36money. Different people have different
- 2:39habits. My family always liked saving
- 2:43money. My mom taught me to always save
- 2:46some of my money. So, today I try to
- 2:50save some of the money I earn. It's not
- 2:53always easy to save, though. You have to
- 2:57be careful with your money because it's
- 3:00easy to spend too much. I know many
- 3:03people that don't save money. They
- 3:06always spend their money on clothes,
- 3:09electronics, vacations, and other
- 3:12things. I spend money on these things,
- 3:16but not all my money. But, some people
- 3:19spend all their money because they want
- 3:22to enjoy the moment. I don't think I
- 3:25could do this. I think it's good to
- 3:28enjoy the moment, but it's also good to
- 3:31plan for the future. One other thing
- 3:35that people do with their money is
- 3:37invest. You can invest in many different
- 3:41things, like the stock market, real
- 3:44estate, currencies, or gold. Many
- 3:48Americans invest their money. They want
- 3:52to use this money to make more money in
- 3:55the future. In some countries, investing
- 3:58is not very popular. Or sometimes, they
- 4:02don't have good investment options. You
- 4:06need to be careful when you invest your
- 4:08money because not all investment options
- 4:12are good. Some investments are bad and
- 4:16you can lose money. Overall, people have
- 4:19many different ways to manage their
- 4:22money. All right, that's all for today.
- 4:25Leave a comment and tell me if you like
- 4:27spending, saving, or investing money.
- 4:31And remember to subscribe to the
- 4:33channel, click on the bell, and follow
- 4:36us on Instagram for more English tips
- 4:39and lessons. I'll see you next time.
