- 0:00when I began working on this hoof it was
- 0:02obvious I was dealing with rocks but I
- 0:04couldn't imagine just how many rocks
- 0:06were below the surface welcome back to
- 0:10Nate the hoof
- 0:21guy once one rock makes its way into the
- 0:24white line it's easy for others to
- 0:26follow and they continue to work their
- 0:28way underneath that that sole until they
- 0:31have underrun it that's what's happened
- 0:33here I'm going to use my grinder here to
- 0:35give us a bigger access point to get all
- 0:37of these rocks out of
- 0:58there
- 1:11well there's two but there's many more
- 1:14to
- 1:28come every time I think I've got it
- 1:30flushed out more rocks will reveal
- 1:40themselves as I continue to trim I can
- 1:42feel more coming in contact with my
- 1:44knife
- 1:53blade and once again it's another
- 1:56sizable
- 1:58Rock
- 2:14maybe this rinse will finally do it but
- 2:17I think we all know that is not the
- 2:28case
- 3:13at this point I was starting to feel
- 3:14like I was never going to get to the end
- 3:16of
- 3:28them
- 3:39now I'll bet you're thinking to yourself
- 3:40those rocks have got to be doing a
- 3:42number on those hoof knives and they do
- 3:45but there's really no way around that
- 3:47and that's why I carry multiple knives
- 3:49with me each day dealing with rocks and
- 3:51sand and things like that they're going
- 3:53to get dull just switch those knives up
- 3:55and move
- 3:58on
- 4:12now even though this hoof was absolutely
- 4:14packed full of rocks they really weren't
- 4:17the problem here likely what had
- 4:18happened is there was a white line issue
- 4:20back sometime and these rocks were able
- 4:22to find that defect and work their way
- 4:24all the way in there really for the most
- 4:27part this hoof is sound there is a new
- 4:29layer of hoof horn there there was just
- 4:31one small area of openness so we did put
- 4:34a block on that other claw and then we
- 4:36clean this area out really well and
- 4:38treated that one small little area with
- 4:41some salicylic acid and gave her a wrap
- 4:43and that was going to be it just a
- 4:45little few touch-up trims here is all we
- 4:47have left to do and this girl is going
- 4:49to feel a whole lot more comfortable as
- 4:52always guys thanks for watching and we
- 4:55will see you all on the next
- 4:58one
