- 0:29la all right 71 here we
- 0:38[Music]
- 0:55goe our oldest is 14 uhhuh and are
- 1:00youngest is almost a
- 1:01year so uh yeah thank God we have nine
- 1:04kids okay so he's not even the youngest
- 1:06youngest no he has a younger sister Leia
- 1:09so uh so nine all together nine all
- 1:11together thank God yeah we're halfway
- 1:14there are you serious though are you
- 1:16going to is it is nine a good number or
- 1:19on your future whatever the good Lord
- 1:21gives us see the the first commandment
- 1:23in the Bible is God tells Adam and Eve
- 1:26be fruitful and multiply so uh you know
- 1:29what could be be Holier and more special
- 1:31than bringing another human into the
- 1:33[Music]
- 1:42world wife's
- 1:49brother in AIC home one of the things
- 1:52that very prominent is the large table
- 1:56because obviously with large families
- 1:58and inviting a lot of guests especially
- 2:00for the Sabbath males and things like
- 2:02that we uh have a lot of friends and
- 2:06family over and we have the beautiful
- 2:08silver that
- 2:10adorns either the Sabbath or the holiday
- 2:13table so this is very common inic home
- 2:16by the way can I can I get you a drink
- 2:19um I'm okay do you guys need anything
- 2:21plenty of drinks right
- 2:22here Emily enough
- 2:27anybody yeah what's going on with with
- 2:29that do you uh you have alcohol in the
- 2:31in the home um we do because um on the
- 2:34Sabbath and holidays actually a lot of
- 2:37the prayers or the lot of the blessings
- 2:39we make over wine and also sometimes you
- 2:42have a little a little just a little
- 2:44shot um because it gets you in the
- 2:48festive
- 2:51[Music]
- 2:56mood so nice to meet you thank you for
- 2:58having us we're so happy you're here
- 3:06hello how you doing I'm yourest welcome
- 3:10I know I I I can't shake your hand right
- 3:12is that right okay okay and why why is
- 3:15that I I learned about it but why why is
- 3:17it it's out of respect to uh the the
- 3:22physical touch between male and female
- 3:25okay that every touch is intimate and we
- 3:27save it for our intimate relationship
- 3:54so this is a yamaka and it's interesting
- 3:57CH the yamaka
- 4:09cover do you ever think about it and be
- 4:11like oh man I I wish I wouldn't have to
- 4:13like put this strengths that you ever
- 4:15feel I mean not I don't want to be I
- 4:16don't I don't mean to sound rude or
- 4:18anything but does it ever feel like
- 4:19silly to you to just just kind of keep
- 4:21doing that or um I would say silly
- 4:24because I'm used to it because I've been
- 4:25wearing them my whole life um but you do
- 4:30ask yourself what's the point of all
- 4:31these Commandments and what happens if I
- 4:35don't do them and you have to conly
- 4:37remember that there's somebody on the
- 4:39other side that asks you to do this even
- 4:42if it doesn't make so much sense or it
- 4:43seems a little strange at times you're
- 4:46not focusing on so much what you're
- 4:47doing but who you're doing it for so
- 4:49when we pray or when we do what of The
- 4:52Commandments we're like oh yeah God I
- 4:55remember you and God says nothing
- 4:58touches me more
- 5:03[Music]
- 5:23mommy mommy
- 5:26mommy mommy mommy they they learned
- 5:30Bible
- 5:34study do you um before you had your
- 5:37first child were you working or did you
- 5:39have a career a
- 5:42teacher preschool teacher do you miss it
- 5:46I've gone back I've gone back I stopped
- 5:48for many years and then um because I
- 5:52wasn't sure how to how to just manage it
- 5:54all and I wanted to be home all day with
- 5:56my babies so for us career is never the
- 5:59goal it's a
- 6:01tool it can be it could be a tool for
- 6:03enjoyment or it could be a tool for Inca
- 6:07but it's still a tool goal is Unity goal
- 6:10is family goal is serving God goal is
- 6:13our purpose and if my job can help me
- 6:16get to my goal then it's
- 6:25[Music]
- 6:28great
- 6:31[Music]
- 6:47but
- 6:55hello so when would you typically go wig
- 6:58shopping or how often does it happen so
- 7:01the first time is right before your
- 7:02wedding that's when you get your first
- 7:04wig for the day after your
- 7:06wedding and then about every few years
- 7:10you know and you get one or two wigs to
- 7:12have uh at every time you like to have
- 7:15two wigs to
- 7:16alternate and
- 7:18um they last about a few
- 7:28years
- 7:47Wings tend to go by Styles so a few
- 7:49years ago I wanted the thickest wig
- 7:50possible the most volume now everybody
- 7:52wants the flattest weight possible with
- 7:53like part down the middle or maybe on
- 7:55the side but very flat so the way we
- 7:57achieve that look is with a lace top rig
- 7:59it's this is a piece of Swiss Lea and
- 8:01each hair is sewn in one by one it's
- 8:02called voring so each and every little
- 8:05piece was sewn in oh it's like that so
- 8:08by the time it's done it's sitting this
- 8:10flat on your on your head and this is
- 8:12real hair it's all real hair you can
- 8:13feel it it's European hair it's the best
- 8:14the
- 8:19[Music]
- 8:27best I like the the wave and the
- 8:30highlights good work you ready for a
- 8:33change I'll say
- 8:38[Music]
- 8:46[Music]
- 8:58that
- 9:06[Music]
- 9:16there's a strong entrepreneurial Spirit
- 9:17here because you know you're raising
- 9:19large families so a lot of people on
- 9:21real estate a lot of people on Amazon a
- 9:23lot of people teach in the schools it
- 9:26helps everyone has a network you know uh
- 9:29you see each other almost on a daily
- 9:30basis in the synagogue and on the
- 9:58streets
- 10:03well how do you feel about this
- 10:04situation uh I know I'm completely
- 10:08capable of filming it but you know I
- 10:11greatly respect religious beliefs and I
- 10:13would never want to be disrespectful to
- 10:15towards anyone even if I don't share the
- 10:17same
- 10:28beliefs
- 10:39oh my God this is
- 10:58wild
- 11:00[Music]
- 11:05oh my God this is
- 11:19[Music]
- 11:21wild okay to film um anything more than
- 11:24okay nobody's offended on the contrary
- 11:25if you don't film them they get offended
- 11:28like well we're not interesting
- 11:40[Music]
- 11:58speech
- 11:59[Music]
- 12:02I mean typically a boy gets uh engaged
- 12:05here when he's 23 24 and then they get
- 12:09married and they study for a year um in
- 12:13a higher level of learning called the
- 12:15col meaning they're married now so the
- 12:16first year after they're married they'll
- 12:18pretty much keep the same schedule and
- 12:20then hopefully they'll find some ritical
- 12:23position
- 12:28somewhere
- 12:33it's not only a synagogue it's sort of
- 12:35like a living room like you could be
- 12:37real with each other and and you come
- 12:39here you know your friends are going to
- 12:41be here you know the rabbis is going to
- 12:42be here so it it's sort of you know
- 12:45should be a place of Holiness but it
- 12:47it's better that the synagogue is a
- 12:49place where everyone feels welcome than
- 12:50going to some other place you know which
- 12:52is not necessarily a holy
- 12:54[Music]
- 12:58place
- 13:01[Music]
- 13:19okay growing up again I had a bit of
- 13:21unique experience because many of my
- 13:23friends were part of that kind secular
- 13:26culture like every good teenager you
- 13:28know I tested I tested the boundar saw
- 13:32how much parents are willing to cave and
- 13:34what I can get away with but ultimately
- 13:37was never I've never felt like it was
- 13:40really inforced to the point
- 13:43of to the point
- 13:49of
- 13:58your
- 14:02yeah know Mar would be
- 14:11nice okay great y nice to meet you than
- 14:15you again okay bye God bless
- 14:17[Music]
- 14:25you
