- 0:12Dear viewers, peace, mercy, and
- 0:14blessings of God be upon you. To begin
- 0:18with, I would like to point out that a
- 0:20Quranic application called "Basair
- 0:23Al-Quran" has been released. This
- 0:28application is for everyone who wants
- 0:30to rely on themselves to know the truth
- 0:34from the Book of God Almighty. Or at
- 0:38least to protect themselves from
- 0:40misguided fatwas, and from people's
- 0:42whims and impressions. This application
- 0:45consists of four important parts. The
- 0:48first is simplifying the Quran into the
- 0:51language of the Arabs. Meaning, you
- 0:53will find a transformation of the
- 0:55verses of God’s Book into the
- 0:57language of the Arabs, instead of the
- 1:00precise Arabic language in which God
- 1:02addressed us. This is so that every
- 1:06person can grasp the words of God
- 1:09Almighty. There is another section
- 1:14concerned with the meanings and
- 1:16connotations of many important terms in
- 1:19the Quran. Which have been derived
- 1:24based on the rules that God Almighty
- 1:26set, and the way He perfected His Book.
- 1:31You will not find any human impressions
- 1:33or projections in it. Everything is
- 1:37restricted to Quranic rules. You will
- 1:41find these meanings and connotations
- 1:44either through an article, or by
- 1:47watching videos that detail those
- 1:49connotations or meanings in a broader
- 1:52way. There is a section dedicated to
- 1:57the rules of God Almighty, and how to
- 2:00use them. And demonstrating the
- 2:04importance of adhering to them and
- 2:06correcting many interpretations and
- 2:08jurisprudential rulings by means of
- 2:11these rules. There is a section for
- 2:15those who want to study the Quran,
- 2:17containing the Quranic methodology for
- 2:20studying Quranic science through a
- 2:23simplified and organized table. Note
- 2:28that in the simplifying the Quran into
- 2:31the language of the Arabs section, you
- 2:34will find words colored in red. If you
- 2:38click on them, they will take you
- 2:40directly to the meanings and
- 2:42connotations. This application is for
- 2:45everyone who wants to be free, be
- 2:47responsible for themselves, and see
- 2:50what the Quran has brought. "Insights
- 2:53have come to you from your Lord; so
- 2:54whoever sees, it is to his own benefit,
- 2:56and whoever is blind, it is to his own
- 2:58detriment." So this application, my
- 3:01friend, is free for all these people.
- 3:03We want no reward or thanks. But we
- 3:06want everyone who has benefited from
- 3:08this application to pray for those who
- 3:11designed this application, and
- 3:13participated in it, whether financially
- 3:15or scientifically. To pray for them for
- 3:18forgiveness and mercy. As we may make
- 3:21mistakes in some things. That is why we
- 3:24have placed the rules in this
- 3:26application so that a person can
- 3:28correct our mistakes. But this
- 3:31correction must be done in the way God
- 3:33perfected the Book, and by the rules He
- 3:35, the Almighty, set. Do not give me a
- 3:39fish every day, but teach me how to
- 3:42fish. This application will teach you,
- 3:45my friend, how you can derive the
- 3:48truths directly from the Book of God.
- 3:53In this episode, we will talk about a
- 3:56verse that some sheikhs often circulate
- 4:00. But they do not understand its
- 4:03reality; rather, they have manufactured
- 4:05an understanding for this verse. It is
- 4:08His saying, the Almighty, in Surah
- 4:10Al-Ahzab: "There has certainly been for
- 4:11you in the Messenger of Allah an
- 4:13excellent pattern for anyone whose hope
- 4:15is in Allah and the Last Day and [who]
- 4:17remembers Allah often." As you know,
- 4:21the fundamentalists or religious
- 4:23scholars said that this verse means
- 4:26following the Prophet's Sunnah and
- 4:28applying it in daily words and actions.
- 4:32But we will ask, and I will give an
- 4:34example from myself. I, for example,
- 4:38want to take the example from the
- 4:40Prophet, peace be upon him, because
- 4:42they interpreted the "pattern" as an "
- 4:44example." I want to follow him, so I
- 4:47think about marrying a nine-year-old
- 4:49child. Isn't this from the Sunnah? So
- 4:53why...Does the civil law forbid us from
- 4:56this act? And why have we started
- 4:59considering this act to be pedophilia?
- 5:02Have we become disbelievers? And the
- 5:06countries that criminalize this? Is the
- 5:08act committed by infidel states? How,
- 5:11then, can the Sunnah be the role model?
- 5:15We find in this Sunnah things that
- 5:17humans cannot accept, nor even God
- 5:20Almighty, nor His Messenger. Because
- 5:25being a role model or an example does
- 5:27not just lie in dressing like the
- 5:29Prophet dressed, or eating like the
- 5:31Prophet ate. No, there are those who
- 5:34want to. Exceed this limit—marriage,
- 5:36for example, killing the apostate,
- 5:38narrowing the path for the Jews. Are
- 5:42these not the actions of the Prophet as
- 5:44they have delivered them to us and as
- 5:46they exist in the books of Sunnah? If
- 5:50the example is the Sunnah as they
- 5:52claimed, and in the Sunnah we find that
- 5:54God ordered the Prophet to argue with
- 5:56those who argue with him in the best
- 5:59way, then why do some sheikhs, when you
- 6:01present something that contradicts what
- 6:04they inherited from their fathers, do
- 6:06not argue with you in the best way?
- 6:10They pelt you with insults and abuse.
- 6:12And they order your killing. So why
- 6:14don't they follow this example? To
- 6:17argue with us in the best way. That is
- 6:20because everything said about the
- 6:23example has nothing to do with what our
- 6:25fathers interpreted. And it has no
- 6:28relation to the Sunnah. Because if it
- 6:31had a relation to the Sunnah, God would
- 6:34have had to command us. Which books to
- 6:37choose, and instead of saying "this
- 6:39Book," He would have had to say "these
- 6:41books." This is yet another reason why
- 6:45the example has no relation to the
- 6:47Sunnah, because God Almighty did not
- 6:50command us to follow the Sunnah, but
- 6:52commanded us to follow His Book and
- 6:54follow the creed of Abraham, inclining
- 6:56toward truth, and not the Sunnah of
- 6:59Muhammad, peace be upon him. Note that
- 7:02God Almighty mentioned twice and
- 7:04commanded us to follow the example of
- 7:07Abraham and those with him, but you
- 7:09will never hear any sheikh recite these
- 7:12verses. They always recite, "There has
- 7:15certainly been for you in the Messenger
- 7:18of Allah an excellent pattern," and
- 7:20they ignore His saying, the Almighty,
- 7:23in Surah Al-Mumtahanah, "There has
- 7:25already been for you an excellent
- 7:27pattern in Abraham and those with him,"
- 7:29knowing that He did not mention those
- 7:32with the Prophet, peace be upon him, no
- 7:34; but for Abraham, He mentioned those
- 7:36who believed with him. He said in Surah
- 7:41Al-Mumtahanah, "There has already been
- 7:43for you an excellent pattern in Abraham
- 7:46and those with him," and He said in
- 7:48verse six as well, once again, "There
- 7:50has certainly been for you in them,"
- 7:52meaning Abraham and those with him, "an
- 7:55excellent pattern." For anyone who
- 7:58hopes in Allah and the Last Day. Just
- 8:01as He said about Muhammad, peace be
- 8:02upon him: "There has certainly been for
- 8:03you in the Messenger of Allah an
- 8:05excellent pattern.""An excellent
- 8:06pattern for anyone who hopes in Allah
- 8:09and the Last Day." But with the Prophet
- 8:12, He added, "and remembers Allah often.
- 8:13" What is the relation between the role
- 8:17model and remembering Allah often? This
- 8:20is what we will explain, but we must
- 8:22explain it from within the Quran,
- 8:24meaning this role model must be within
- 8:26the Quran because God has explained
- 8:28everything, and we have no right to
- 8:30bring a role model from outside the
- 8:32Quran. Why? Because if we look at the
- 8:35verse, we find that God said: "There
- 8:37has certainly been for you in the
- 8:39Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern
- 8:41.""Pattern" is indefinite, and He did
- 8:43not say "patterns," the plural of
- 8:45pattern. No, that is because He is
- 8:48speaking about a specific and precise
- 8:50example. So here He specified the type
- 8:54of example by making it. If it were
- 8:57indefinite and made definite, it would
- 9:00specify what we must emulate, but it
- 9:03generalizes this model; meaning it
- 9:05varies from one model or example to
- 9:08another. Thus, what God speaks of in
- 9:11this verse is one model—a single,
- 9:14specific, and defined type of example
- 9:17that we must derive from the Quran. The
- 9:21same applies to Ibrahim; we must derive
- 9:23that specific and defined model, which
- 9:26was practiced by those who believed
- 9:29with him. Always from within the Quran
- 9:33as well. And we will also show why.
- 9:36When God spoke about a model. Muhammad,
- 9:39peace be upon him, mentioned God much
- 9:41at the end. What is the relationship
- 9:44between remembrance and the model? To
- 9:48know this, we must place things in
- 9:50their proper context—meaning we bring
- 9:53the verse together with other verses to
- 9:56understand the context of what is being
- 9:59discussed, because the Quran is not to
- 10:01be fragmented; there are things that
- 10:04cannot be divided. We cannot take a
- 10:07part of a verse and recite it to the
- 10:10people. "Whatever the Messenger has
- 10:12given you-take; and what he has
- 10:13forbidden you-refrain from." This is
- 10:15what destroyed religion. This is what
- 10:17caused people to perish. It is this
- 10:19part that we still. Practice to this
- 10:21day. "God has permitted trade and has
- 10:24forbidden interest." They took a part
- 10:27of a verse, removed it from its context
- 10:29, and interpreted it as they wished,
- 10:32just like this verse. They removed it
- 10:34from its context among the verses. And
- 10:37everyone began interpreting it as they
- 10:39wanted. But we will place it in. Its
- 10:44place, in its context with the verses,
- 10:46to know what model God Almighty is
- 10:48speaking about. To know that, we will
- 10:52take the verses from the beginning,
- 10:54from the tenth verse, as God Almighty
- 10:57said in Surah Al-Ahzab: "When they came
- 10:59at you from above you and from below
- 11:01you, and when eyes shifted and hearts
- 11:04reached the throats." He is speaking
- 11:08about the battle where many tribes
- 11:10united to attack the Prophet, peace be
- 11:12upon him, and those who believed with
- 11:14him. That is why: "they came at you
- 11:18from above you and from below you, and
- 11:20when eyes shifted and hearts reached
- 11:23the throats, and you assumed about God
- 11:25various thoughts." Some of the
- 11:28Prophet's companions began to have ill
- 11:31thoughts about God. They thought things
- 11:34they should not have thought if they
- 11:36were truly believers. That is why He
- 11:39said: "And you assumed about God
- 11:41various thoughts." There the believers
- 11:44were tested and shaken with a severe
- 11:46shaking. And when the hypocrites and
- 11:50those in whose hearts is disease said,
- 11:52"God and His Messenger did not promise
- 11:54us except delusion." This is the ill
- 11:58thought that was assumed about God
- 12:00Almighty in that battle. From those who
- 12:03had disease in their hearts among the
- 12:05believers, and the hypocrites as well.
- 12:07They said, "God and His Messenger did
- 12:09not promise us except delusion." And
- 12:11when a faction of them said, "O people
- 12:13of Yathrib, there is no stability for
- 12:14you [here], so return [home]." And a
- 12:16party of them asked permission of the
- 12:17Prophet, saying, "Indeed, our houses
- 12:18are exposed." And they were not exposed
- 12:21. They did not intend except flight.
- 12:24They thought of God an ill thought.
- 12:26Meaning, they thought they would be
- 12:28defeated and killed and would not be
- 12:30victorious. Then He, the Almighty, said
- 12:33: "And if they had been entered upon
- 12:34from all its regions and then asked for
- 12:36the fitnah, they would have done it and
- 12:37not remained in it except briefly." And
- 12:40they had already promised God before
- 12:41that they would not turn their backs.
- 12:44And ever is the promise to God that
- 12:45about which one is questioned. They
- 12:48pledged to the Prophet, peace be upon
- 12:50him, that they would strive with him
- 12:52and not flee and leave him alone. In
- 12:54the battle. That is why after that, in
- 12:57verse 21, God Almighty said: "There has
- 12:59certainly been for you." Addressing
- 13:02whom? He is addressing those who were
- 13:05with the Prophet. And not people in
- 13:08general. He is addressing those in
- 13:12whose hearts is disease and the
- 13:14hypocrites. He said to them: "Indeed,
- 13:19you have in the Messenger of Allah an
- 13:21excellent example." They saw this
- 13:23example before them, not just hearing
- 13:26of it. They see it before them for
- 13:29those who hope for Allah and the Last
- 13:33Day. What is this example? It is that
- 13:36the Prophet did not think ill of Allah.
- 13:40And he did not say: "Allah has promised
- 13:42me nothing but delusion." He used to
- 13:46think well of Allah. He knew that Allah
- 13:50would grant him victory, and he did not
- 13:52turn his back. And those who truly
- 13:56believed with him held their ground.
- 14:01They did not think of fleeing, having
- 14:03good expectations of Allah. It is that
- 14:07Allah promised them victory, so He will
- 14:09surely grant it to them. This is the
- 14:13example that Allah speaks of in the
- 14:16Quran. That is why He did not say: "And
- 14:19those who were with him." Because He is
- 14:23speaking to many of those who were with
- 14:26him. Therefore, Allah said: "And
- 14:29remember Allah" much. "Verily, in the
- 14:34remembrance of Allah do hearts find
- 14:36rest." When you remember Allah, He will
- 14:40remove defilement from you. The devil
- 14:43who whispers in the breasts of people.
- 14:47And frightens people. And makes them
- 14:52think ill of Allah. And they say: "
- 14:57Allah and His Messenger promised us
- 15:00nothing but delusion." So, O servants
- 15:04of Allah, here He first addresses those
- 15:07who were with the Prophet, peace be
- 15:09upon him. And among them were those in
- 15:12whose hearts was a disease. And among
- 15:15them were hypocrites. So Allah was
- 15:17addressing them. Telling them to follow
- 15:20the Prophet's example in his patience
- 15:23and his good opinion of Allah, the
- 15:25Almighty. And thus, we will not need
- 15:29any book to search for the Prophetic
- 15:31Sunnah. Rather, everything we have
- 15:35brought is in the Quran, with Quranic
- 15:37evidence. And as we explained here, the
- 15:40example speaks of patience. "And seek
- 15:43help through patience and prayer.""And
- 15:45those who are patient in poverty and
- 15:47adversity and at the time of battle."
- 15:49And those who are patient during trials
- 15:51. That is why the Almighty said: "There
- 15:54, the believers were tested and shaken
- 15:57with a severe shaking." It is enough
- 15:59for us to stop fragmenting the verses
- 16:01of Allah. And bringing things that have
- 16:04no origin in the religion of Allah. And
- 16:06which contradict the method by which
- 16:08Allah perfected the Book. And which
- 16:09contradict the essence of the Quran.
- 16:12And make us compelled to search in
- 16:14other books. Even though Allah
- 16:17explained it in His Book, the Almighty.
- 16:19And it is impossible for Him to speak
- 16:22of an excellent example without
- 16:24pointing. To it in the Quran. Because
- 16:27He is the One who told us not to take
- 16:29from any book. Except the Book of Allah
- 16:32, the Almighty. Because. Tomorrow we
- 16:35will be asked: "Bring the Quran and
- 16:38recite what you claim if you are
- 16:40truthful." Now we will come to the
- 16:44example of Abraham and those with him;
- 16:46it is the same. We will derive it from
- 16:50within the Quran. And that is by
- 16:53placing the verse in its context. And
- 16:56this verse, as I said, came. In Surah
- 16:59Al-Mumtahanah, where Allah the Almighty
- 17:01said: "There has already been for you
- 17:04an excellent example in Abraham and
- 17:06those with him," this is verse four.
- 17:09And in verse six, the Almighty said: "
- 17:11There has certainly been for you in
- 17:13them an excellent example for anyone
- 17:16who hopes for Allah and the Last Day,"
- 17:18meaning He is talking about those who
- 17:20seek and strive to enter Paradise.
- 17:24Therefore, we will take the verses that
- 17:26came before this verse, which speak of
- 17:29the example, to know which example
- 17:31Allah is talking about, because it is
- 17:33indefinite, so we must define it and
- 17:35not look for it in any other book, even
- 17:37if we searched, we would not find it,
- 17:40because our ancestors cared about the
- 17:42example of Muhammad, peace be upon him,
- 17:44and forgot the example of Abraham,
- 17:47peace be upon him. Even if we wanted to
- 17:51search for it in human books, we must
- 17:53search in the books of those who came
- 17:56after Abraham, not those who came after
- 17:58Jesus, peace be upon him. For God
- 18:01Almighty said in the beginning of Surah
- 18:04Al-Mumtahanah. O you who have believed,
- 18:07do not take My enemies and your enemies
- 18:08as allies, extending to them affection
- 18:10while they have disbelieved in what
- 18:12came to you of the truth, having driven
- 18:13out the Messenger and yourselves only
- 18:15because you believe in God, your Lord.
- 18:18Here, God Almighty is addressing those
- 18:20who migrated to Medina. Fleeing from
- 18:22Mecca. That is why He said: "having
- 18:25disbelieved in what came to you of the
- 18:26truth, having driven out the Messenger
- 18:28and yourselves," just as He Almighty
- 18:29said: "who have been evicted from their
- 18:31homes without right-only because they
- 18:32say, 'Our Lord is God.'" So He said: "
- 18:35in what came to you of the truth,
- 18:36having driven out the Messenger and
- 18:37yourselves only because you believe in
- 18:39God, your Lord. If you have come out
- 18:41for Jihad in My way and seeking My
- 18:42pleasure, [take them not as allies],
- 18:44confiding to them affection. And I am
- 18:46most knowing of what you have concealed
- 18:47and what you have declared. And whoever
- 18:49does that among you has certainly
- 18:51strayed from the soundness of the way."
- 18:53What happened when they migrated from
- 18:55Medina to Mecca? There was a group
- 18:58among these migrants. Who were in
- 19:01contact with the disbelievers from
- 19:03their families in Mecca who had
- 19:05expelled the Messenger and those who
- 19:07believed with him; they would contact
- 19:09them and leak to them what was
- 19:11happening in Medina. That is why the
- 19:14Almighty said: "confiding to them
- 19:15affection," referring to the family
- 19:17ties between them—their fathers,
- 19:19their brothers, their uncles, these
- 19:21things. "And I am most knowing of what
- 19:24you have concealed and what you have
- 19:26declared. And whoever does that among
- 19:28you has certainly strayed from the
- 19:30soundness of the way.""If they gain
- 19:33dominance over you"—God warns them
- 19:35and alerts them to things they do not
- 19:37know, so He said: "If they gain
- 19:39dominance over you"—those to whom you
- 19:41show affection— "they would be to you
- 19:43as enemies and extend against you their
- 19:45hands and their tongues with evil."
- 19:49Meaning, you are showing them affection
- 19:51and clinging to that relationship, even
- 19:53though if they found you and caught up
- 19:55with you and found the opportunity,
- 19:57they would extend against you their
- 19:59hands and their tongues with evil, and
- 20:01they wish you would disbelieve. "Never
- 20:04will your relatives or your children
- 20:06benefit you the Day of Resurrection; He
- 20:08will judge between you. And God, of
- 20:11what you do, is Seeing." Immediately,
- 20:14the Almighty said: "There has already
- 20:15been for you an excellent pattern in
- 20:17Abraham and those with him." What is
- 20:20this pattern? "When they said to their
- 20:22people, 'Indeed, we are disassociated
- 20:24from you and from whatever you worship
- 20:27other than God. We have denied you.'""
- 20:29And there has appeared between us and
- 20:32you animosity and hatred." Not
- 20:33affection or support for you. Our
- 20:37definitive news, why? For they, too,
- 20:41Abraham and those with him, emigrated
- 20:43from their homes fearing their people.
- 20:47That is why He said, "We disown you,
- 20:50and there has arisen between us and you
- 20:52enmity and hatred forever until you
- 20:54believe in Allah alone." Likewise, in
- 20:58the sixth verse, He said, "There has
- 21:01certainly been for you in them a good
- 21:03example for those who hope for Allah
- 21:05and the Last Day." This address was
- 21:09directed at the emigrants who moved to
- 21:12Medina, especially those who clung to
- 21:14family ties with people who expelled
- 21:17the Prophet and his companions from
- 21:19Mecca and wanted to kill him. If those
- 21:23relatives had been able to reach these
- 21:25emigrants, they would have harmed them.
- 21:29But Abraham and those with him severed
- 21:32ties with them completely, and enmity
- 21:34and hatred arose between them; there
- 21:37was no contact whatsoever—enmity and
- 21:39hatred forever until you believe in
- 21:42Allah alone. Thus, we have been able to
- 21:46refute all these concepts that
- 21:48attributed this "example" to the Sunnah
- 21:51, while those who command people to
- 21:53follow this example are themselves far
- 21:56from it. Do you command people to do
- 21:59good and forget yourselves? They always
- 22:03come to you with examples, such as
- 22:05debating others in the best manner,
- 22:07while they themselves only debate
- 22:10through insults, curses, slander, and
- 22:12calls for killing; this is all they
- 22:14know. As I said, they command people to
- 22:18do good while forgetting themselves.
- 22:22These are the verses of Allah which We
- 22:24recite to you in truth; so in what
- 22:26statement after Allah and His verses
- 22:28will they believe? And Allah is the
- 22:32All-Knowing, the All-Wise, the
- 22:34All-Aware. Peace be upon you, and the
- 22:37mercy of Allah and His blessings.
