  1. 0:00The country's multinational people
  2. 0:02wield all the power. And that's so good
  3. 0:04. I want to rule. Tell me how you won't
  4. 0:07do it yourself, but go to the elections
  5. 0:09. Someone smarter, more resourceful,
  6. 0:12more experienced will take your place.
  7. 0:14He will be the one leading in your
  8. 0:16place. Corruption, over-the-top
  9. 0:18spending, and the complete disregard
  10. 0:19for the people on the part of the swan,
  11. 0:21the crayfish, and the pike. They've
  12. 0:23started to pull the body of state in
  13. 0:24different directions. And we're
  14. 0:26stalling, we're standing still. And for
  15. 0:28the most part, we're deteriorating.
  16. 0:29Power has never belonged to the people,
  17. 0:33and never will. We'll live a quiet,
  18. 0:36peaceful life in all piety and purity.
  19. 0:53Hello, Vyacheslav Vladimirovich.
  20. 0:55Hello, Oleg.
  21. 0:56Elections are coming up? And many of
  22. 0:59those around me are saying, "What's the
  23. 1:01point of going to the elections anyway?
  24. 1:03Everything's
  25. 1:04already been decided. My vote doesn't
  26. 1:06matter." And many don't trust the
  27. 1:09authorities. But we, as Christians, for
  28. 1:12example, believe that all authority
  29. 1:14comes from God. So where is my personal
  30. 1:17responsibility here? I have to choose,
  31. 1:20even if I don't trust anyone. Or you
  32. 1:22could say, "We'll accept whatever
  33. 1:25authority God allows." Yeah. Well,
  34. 1:30that's true. All authority comes from
  35. 1:35God, and we must obey the authority
  36. 1:38that exists, precisely because we are
  37. 1:42Christians. For us, obedience is one of
  38. 1:44the fundamental components of our
  39. 1:46spiritual life. And the authority we
  40. 1:51have is fully consistent with the
  41. 1:54degree of our Christianity. The extent
  42. 1:58to which we are Christians corresponds
  43. 2:01to the perfection of our social and
  44. 2:04governmental life. You say, "Obey the
  45. 2:08authorities," but that can't lead to—
  46. 2:11I don't know the correct term—
  47. 2:13infantilism, or something, where I've
  48. 2:16thrown off all responsibility and just
  49. 2:19sat there dangling my feet. But where
  50. 2:25have we fallen short in our democratic
  51. 2:29society? Article 3 of the Constitution
  52. 2:36of the Russian Federation states that
  53. 2:38all power in the country belongs to its
  54. 2:40multinational people. Well, you have to
  55. 2:44admit, that sounds nice.
  56. 2:46It
  57. 2:46sounds nice, it flatters my pride. And
  58. 2:51I can consider myself, I can consider
  59. 2:56myself a ruler. Power is mine, and
  60. 2:59that's so good. I want to rule. Tell me
  61. 3:04, as he says to me: "Well, you yourself
  62. 3:06won't do it, but go to the elections
  63. 3:08and tick the box there. In your place,
  64. 3:11there will be a person smarter, more
  65. 3:14resourceful, more experienced." More
  66. 3:18educated than you, more literate. He
  67. 3:21will govern in your place, and you go
  68. 3:24and delegate your powers to him. And we
  69. 3:27see that we are transferring our powers
  70. 3:31not to those who are better than us,
  71. 3:34but to those who are worse than us. We
  72. 3:39now have constant scandals with our
  73. 3:42deputies, corruption, over-the-top
  74. 3:45spending, and absolute disregard for
  75. 3:49the people on the part of those in
  76. 3:52power. Or am I saying something that is
  77. 3:56not obvious to others, or something.
  78. 3:59This is precisely the lie of democracy.
  79. 4:02Power has never belonged to the people,
  80. 4:05nor will it ever belong to them. No one
  81. 4:08has given power to the people. It's a
  82. 4:11lie that the people have power. Power
  83. 4:15on Earth, in this world in general, not
  84. 4:17just on planet Earth, but throughout
  85. 4:20the entire universe, belongs only to
  86. 4:22God. And not to God in general, but to
  87. 4:26Jesus Christ, who said: "All authority
  88. 4:28in heaven and on earth has been
  89. 4:31delivered to me by my Father." That's
  90. 4:34who is sovereign. And he, God,
  91. 4:38delegates his authority to only one
  92. 4:41person, only an Orthodox sovereign,
  93. 4:47only a Christian monarch, and to no one
  94. 4:51else. We see this throughout the
  95. 4:55history of Christianity on Earth. This
  96. 4:59was the case with the Orthodox Roman
  97. 5:01emperors, this was the case with our
  98. 5:04Orthodox sovereigns in the Russian
  99. 5:06Empire, with our grand dukes, and with
  100. 5:09our last monarch, Nicholas Sadvich
  101. 5:12Romanov. He was the last true anointed
  102. 5:17of God here on Russian soil. There have
  103. 5:21been none since. I hope there will be.
  104. 5:24In Russia, Christianity and the
  105. 5:27Orthodox Church have always been a
  106. 5:29catalyst for the state of society and
  107. 5:32the state. We could say that our state
  108. 5:36was created by the church, and
  109. 5:37therefore by the head of the church,
  110. 5:39Christ himself. Christians mean "
  111. 5:42Christian"—that's a family name. I
  112. 5:46have a family name, a first name, a
  113. 5:47patronymic, and also "Christian." It's
  114. 5:49not even my second name, it's my first.
  115. 5:53I have a very direct relationship with
  116. 5:56Jesus Christ. And I entrust my personal
  117. 6:00and public life to him, to see how he
  118. 6:03will arrange our lives. That's how it
  119. 6:07should be. And we accept our social and
  120. 6:12governmental structure as it is, and we
  121. 6:15believe it to be the most ideal system
  122. 6:19of government, the one we currently
  123. 6:22need given our spiritual state. If our
  124. 6:27inner spiritual state changes, then our
  125. 6:30external circumstances will change, and
  126. 6:33then the forms of government will
  127. 6:35change. We won't be the ones changing
  128. 6:39it, as we have attempted to do. Our
  129. 6:42people at the beginning of the 20th
  130. 6:44century, under the leadership of
  131. 6:46Russia's sworn enemies, carried out a
  132. 6:49coup d'etat, which was later called the
  133. 6:51Great October Socialist Revolution—
  134. 6:54incidentally, it was only called that
  135. 6:56in the 1930s; before that, it was
  136. 6:58called a coup d'etat. And we saw what
  137. 7:02this leads to. If people, out of pride,
  138. 7:07self-interest, greed, or envy, begin to
  139. 7:10destroy the state structure that God
  140. 7:13gave them based on their spiritual
  141. 7:16state, we condemn ourselves to a
  142. 7:18century of turmoil from which we have
  143. 7:21still not emerged. Therefore, these
  144. 7:25circumstances of the 20th and 21st
  145. 7:28centuries should teach us that we must
  146. 7:30truly humbly accept from God the
  147. 7:32structure of society and state that He
  148. 7:35deems beneficial for us. For us, what
  149. 7:39is happening now is undoubtedly
  150. 7:41beneficial. If we begin to change our
  151. 7:45internal structure, to engage in the
  152. 7:48improvement of our spiritual and moral
  153. 7:50sphere, this is precisely how we will
  154. 7:53seriously influence the change in the
  155. 7:56socio-political structure of our
  156. 7:58country. This is how it has always been
  157. 8:01. Repentance is that movement of the
  158. 8:05human soul to which we are all called
  159. 8:08by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is what
  160. 8:13has the most beneficial effect on the
  161. 8:15socio-political structure of the state
  162. 8:17and society. We see that the processes
  163. 8:23currently occurring in our society are
  164. 8:26called turbulence. However, turbulence,
  165. 8:32as a rule, ends in calm and a return to
  166. 8:37a smooth, peaceful path. How this
  167. 8:43turbulence ends for us largely depends
  168. 8:47on our attitude toward government. Yes,
  169. 8:52a Christian must be obedient to the
  170. 8:55authorities. If we now have a
  171. 8:59democratic, so-called democratic form
  172. 9:03of society, a multi-party system and
  173. 9:06representative bodies of government, a
  174. 9:09State Duma where we elect our
  175. 9:15representatives, deputies, then we must
  176. 9:18do this. We must go to the polls. No
  177. 9:22one forces us, but a Christian simply
  178. 9:28does so out of obedience. This is what
  179. 9:31the authorities have commanded. We obey
  180. 9:34the authorities. What do we actually do
  181. 9:38at the polls? What kind of checkboxes
  182. 9:40and crosses do we tick? That's our own
  183. 9:42business. But we are involved in this,
  184. 9:44in everything, in this political
  185. 9:45process. Since we are invited and even
  186. 9:48compelled to participate in the
  187. 9:50political process, in elections, in
  188. 9:52government bodies, then we must
  189. 9:54certainly participate. At the same time
  190. 9:59, we always remember that the outcome
  191. 10:04of the elections will depend not only
  192. 10:08and not so much on how actively voters
  193. 10:13behave or on how Christians pray.
  194. 10:18Therefore, we are doing our main
  195. 10:21business, as Christians. We pray to God
  196. 10:25, on whom the entire structure of human
  197. 10:29life on Earth depends. He is the master
  198. 10:33; He governs everything here. And we
  199. 10:36firmly believe that if we obey the
  200. 10:39authorities and do our main work, as
  201. 10:42Christians, then all will be well with
  202. 10:45our country, with our people. And so,
  203. 10:49we can emerge from this turbulence with
  204. 10:52the best possible form of government
  205. 10:55possible on Earth. We once had one.
  206. 11:00Once upon a time, in Russia, before
  207. 11:03Peter the Great, all forms of
  208. 11:05government were represented. The
  209. 11:09primary form of government was monarchy
  210. 11:11, but we also had an aristocracy in the
  211. 11:14form of the boyar duma. And we had
  212. 11:17democracy in the form of the Zemsky
  213. 11:19Sobor. We had two centuries of this
  214. 11:22ideal social structure. "Ideal" might
  215. 11:26be too strong a word, but it was
  216. 11:29probably the best that ever existed in
  217. 11:33any country on Earth. Our parliament,
  218. 11:38the Zemsky Sobor, is 50 years older
  219. 11:42than the English Parliament. England
  220. 11:46considers itself the birthplace of
  221. 11:48democracy, but in fact, we had
  222. 11:50democracy 50 years earlier than England
  223. 11:52, in the form of the Zemsky Sobor. But
  224. 11:54our Zemsky Sobor truly did represent
  225. 11:56the best representatives of society
  226. 11:58from all walks of life. And this
  227. 12:02allowed our country to truly develop
  228. 12:05and accumulate power, growing in size,
  229. 12:08as it always had, practically
  230. 12:10continuously. But as soon as we stopped
  231. 12:15recognizing the Orthodox monarchy as
  232. 12:19the only form of government for Russia,
  233. 12:22which is organically inherent to it,
  234. 12:26then the devastation began, and it has
  235. 12:29now continued for over 100 years. When
  236. 12:35we wanted popular representation in the
  237. 12:39form of the State Duma, which was
  238. 12:42already hostile to our monarch and to
  239. 12:45the monarchical structure of society,
  240. 12:48when we adopted a multi-party system,
  241. 12:51we fragmented our consciousness. The
  242. 12:55swan, the crayfish, and the pike began
  243. 12:57to pull the body of state in different
  244. 12:59directions. And we see that, despite
  245. 13:02our vastness and power, and our human
  246. 13:05potential, we are stalling, we are
  247. 13:08standing still, we are not developing,
  248. 13:11and for the most part, we are
  249. 13:13deteriorating. And, in fact, we are now
  250. 13:16witnessing more destructive processes
  251. 13:19than constructive ones. No matter how
  252. 13:22you show us the picture, we see that we
  253. 13:26are out of our element. This is not our
  254. 13:31natural element, but we patiently and
  255. 13:35prayerfully await what is inherent in
  256. 13:39the nature of our country, our people.
  257. 13:44This, of course, is a monarchical
  258. 13:47structure of society. Russia, of course
  259. 13:51, can in no way be a federation. This
  260. 13:57is suicidal for Russia, just as
  261. 14:00multi-party politics in general is
  262. 14:03suicidal for Russia. Russia is an
  263. 14:06empire. This is its natural
  264. 14:09characteristic. An empire is not a bad
  265. 14:11thing. It's a very good thing. And not
  266. 14:13just for Russia, but for the entire
  267. 14:15world, if Russia is an empire. When
  268. 14:19Russia has an emperor, that is, a tsar
  269. 14:22who is the personal, sole embodiment of
  270. 14:26the entire people, our multinational,
  271. 14:29multi-confessional people, an Orthodox
  272. 14:32sovereign. Then everything in Russia is
  273. 14:36in its place. When our Lord Jesus
  274. 14:40Christ is supreme in Russia, then
  275. 14:43everything else falls into place and
  276. 14:46takes its rightful, natural place,
  277. 14:48where everyone feels where they belong,
  278. 14:52just as they were. Any nationality, any
  279. 14:58confession, any class feels comfortable
  280. 15:02in the Russian Orthodox monarchy.
  281. 15:07Because the monarch cares for everyone.
  282. 15:10He is God's anointed. And his mind, his
  283. 15:15will, his heart are in God's hands.
  284. 15:21Then Russia embarks on a bright path of
  285. 15:25development. Then all turbulence ends.
  286. 15:29But after what we experienced in the
  287. 15:3220th century, and what's happening to
  288. 15:34us now, we will, of course, have to
  289. 15:37suffer through this ideal form of state
  290. 15:39and social structure for Russia. And
  291. 15:42what else will we have to endure to
  292. 15:46achieve this natural system of life?
  293. 15:49God alone knows. We know that there are
  294. 15:55powerful forces that are doing
  295. 15:58everything they can to prevent this.
  296. 16:00Anything, except what I said. Russia
  297. 16:04has long been condemned by the Western
  298. 16:08world to dismemberment and destruction.
  299. 16:12And the system of life that we
  300. 16:15currently have is sufficiently
  301. 16:17favorable to achieving this goal.
  302. 16:22Therefore, Russia has entered into a
  303. 16:27serious, even bloody, confrontation
  304. 16:30with the Western world. Now, in fact,
  305. 16:33the question is: who will win? Exactly.
  306. 16:36Either we will win, or they will win.
  307. 16:40Well, for me, for example, as a citizen
  308. 16:43, this is obvious. I understand
  309. 16:46perfectly well that this regional
  310. 16:48conflict in Ukraine is unlikely to end
  311. 16:51our confrontation with the West. We
  312. 16:55face a serious showdown with him, the
  313. 16:59result of which will likely be our
  314. 17:02victory, when Russia returns to its
  315. 17:06historical path, when Russia becomes
  316. 17:10Russia, not the Russian Federation,
  317. 17:13when Russia becomes an empire. I don't
  318. 17:18know how much this is worth emphasizing
  319. 17:22, but here's a practical approach. Now,
  320. 17:25some so-called tsar appears and
  321. 17:28says, "I'm completely Orthodox, I'm all
  322. 17:31myself, I want to
  323. 17:32reign. Follow me,
  324. 17:35Russians." Revolution. Is it possible,
  325. 17:42so to speak, a proper revolution, where
  326. 17:44we all come to our senses and say, "
  327. 17:46Okay, we don't need the presidency, we
  328. 17:48need a monarch, let's overthrow him?"
  329. 17:52Or is any revolution the work of the
  330. 17:54devil?
  331. 17:55Of course, the revolutionary, the first
  332. 17:58revolutionary, is the devil. It was he
  333. 18:01who decided to make a revolution, to
  334. 18:03overthrow God and take his place. He
  335. 18:07has been doing this throughout history
  336. 18:11since his fall from grace. Throughout
  337. 18:15human history, we see the devil
  338. 18:16attempting to create a comfortable
  339. 18:22living situation for people, so he can
  340. 18:25rule them unhindered and destroy them
  341. 18:28without hindrance. And in many ways, he
  342. 18:31has succeeded. The only thing that
  343. 18:34prevents him from doing so is the
  344. 18:37God-given form of social organization
  345. 18:40—the Orthodox monarchy. This Orthodox
  346. 18:44monarch is the very thing that
  347. 18:46restrains global evil, preventing the
  348. 18:51devil from triumphing in the territory
  349. 18:54loyal to the Orthodox sovereign.
  350. 18:58Anything may happen here, human
  351. 19:01passions may boil over, and so on, but
  352. 19:04the Lord wisely governs all the people
  353. 19:07through His anointed one. If the people
  354. 19:11are willing to be subjects of their
  355. 19:14sovereign and pray for him, then we
  356. 19:17have a legitimate sovereign who loves
  357. 19:21his people, bears responsibility for
  358. 19:24them before God at the Last Judgment,
  359. 19:27protects them, and promotes the
  360. 19:30greatest good for the people and the
  361. 19:33state. Let's recall how the Orthodox
  362. 19:37monarchy began in Rus '. After all, it
  363. 19:41wasn't the Church that established the
  364. 19:44Orthodox monarchy. In our country, the
  365. 19:48Grand Prince of Kiev, Vladimir, first
  366. 19:51became a Christian. He was baptized.
  367. 19:56And he became the first Orthodox prince
  368. 20:00of Kyiv, marking the beginning of the
  369. 20:03Orthodox history of the great country
  370. 20:07called Russia. It was he who said, "
  371. 20:12Whoever wants to be my friend, come
  372. 20:14tomorrow to the Dnieper to be baptized.
  373. 20:17" The baptism of Rus' was an initiative
  374. 20:20of the head of state. We are now in a
  375. 20:26situation where we need a second
  376. 20:30baptism of Rus 'on a similar scale,
  377. 20:34when the head of state will proclaim a
  378. 20:41second baptism of Rus'. And just as
  379. 20:46Prince Vladimir once did, those
  380. 20:49entrusted with his state power will put
  381. 20:53everything in its place. But this will
  382. 20:56happen when our people have a pressing
  383. 21:02need for such a form of state power,
  384. 21:06when we desire an Orthodox tsar, when
  385. 21:10we pray to God to grant us one, just as
  386. 21:15the people of God in the Old Testament
  387. 21:19asked God for a tsar, and God gave them
  388. 21:24one. So it will be with us, too. If we
  389. 21:28recall our entire history, if we see to
  390. 21:32whom we owe our well-being and state
  391. 21:37power, then we will desire an Orthodox
  392. 21:41sovereign. And there will be no
  393. 21:45revolution. Christians will do their
  394. 21:48proper work. They will pray to God to
  395. 21:52arrange for them a peaceful and
  396. 21:54prosperous life on earth. May we live a
  397. 21:59quiet and peaceful life in all piety
  398. 22:01and purity, as we say in the liturgy.
